I cannot comprehend how anyone could argue with the photographic evidence. Personally, I have walked through the Oval during many of these events and found the turnout to be exactly as the pictures showed: embarrassingly low. Well, that's what happens when you force-feed bad music down the throats of paying tenants: they flee. Those who don't have the option to flee will close all the windows and turn up the AC to drown out the noise. I'm not saying there aren't people who enjoy these events; to say that would be a stretch. However, it's pretty much a given that there are more people against these concerts than there are people in favor of them. The turnout itself and angry letters to T&V, blog posts, etc are the proof. I for one do not want to be held hostage in my apartment every Saturday in July by atrocious, invasive music. The bass would literally make my furniture vibrate (I face the Oval).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1837176580996082182.post-43964852349271593252011-08-08T21:18:29.966-04:002011-08-08T21:18:29.966-04:00Agreed. But now with the bed bug issue, I don't think I would feel comfortable taking anything used that is made of fabric into my apartment, unless I were absolutely sure of its source and that the previous owner didn't have bed bugs. But hard wood or metal objects are probably fine. BTW, many "nice people" have bed bugs--they bring it home on business trips, from airline/Amtrak train seats, even one of the chain clothing stores in NYC had bed bugs in their clothing. The only way Adam Rose hears any message is if CW reprimands him for pissing off the existing tenants by the ridiculous things he is doing to court more tenants (or better yet fires him). The only way CW hears any message is if you hit them in the pocketbook. Class action suits by the affected tenants is one way, I just don't see that happening especially since there is no tenants association anymore. The other way is to jack up their expenses, the easiest way to do that is to overuse electricity or water or other things they are paying for. I used to fix minor things in my apartment when they broke, not anymore, now I call and have them waste their money sending someone to stop a leak in my toilet or screw a screw back into an appliance. For example since CW Capital obviously has money it is willing to piss away, I no longer return home from work to a stifling hot apartment.
