If that is the case, then all NYC & State Dept. of Motor Vehicles Rules and Regulations should apply. Apparently there is somone on the Stuyvesant Town / PCV Management team who can rewrite the rules as they see fit.
The Dept. of Motor Vehicles requires that all gas driven vehicles be registered, inspected, insured, and have NY State license plates affixed to them. There are numerous Maintenance vehicles, being driven around the property, (in excess of the sidewalk speed limit of 5 MPH) that do not meet any of these requirements.
Why is it that there are no uniformed NYPD officers walking the beat in Stuyvesant Town?? Aren't Stuyvesant Town residents entitled to the same Police protection as everyone else in NYC?
I have researched the laws as they apply to bicycle riding on sidewalks in NYC. The conclusion of that research is that it is illegal for an adult to ride a bicycle on the sidewalk. Thousands of bicycles ride through Stuyvesant Town everyday. They are being watched by Stuyvesant Town Public Safety Officers on the Camera Monitors in The 2 Stuyvesant Oval office. These bicycle readers are maintenance personnel, non-residents and residents. However, the majority of those riding bicycles on Stuyvesant Town sidewalks are delivery people. The law allows for a summons as well as impoundment. This is not happening. Nice wake up call! Still, it's better than when Rob Speyer had filthy dumpsters placed around the Loops and Sanitation came at 3 am. Somebody should have thrown Speyer into a dumpster the day he was born. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
