It's Insane!!!

Well, looks as if one of our commentators was correct:  Now, all over the Stuy Town Oval, you will be hearing, "Ice Cream! Cold Water!"  Yes, they ARE doing the Oval Cafe cart bit around the Oval, and all the way around, to include the areas around the playgrounds!   Lady Maya produces another fantastic, low-class idea again, violating the supposed quiet of our 80-acre backyard (I'm using expressions from official STPCV publicity) and forcing mothers and nannies around the Oval to purchase ice cream because of the demand of whiny children.  Now there's no way of avoiding Oval Cafe. Way to go!

Meanwhile, spotted today at the 20th Street Loop, a pressurized wall truck parked right in Stuy Town.  But, don't forget, there are no pressurized walls in this complex....  Must be putting up some dry walls.

Caught this sign at the Farmer's Market the other day.  All you residents that are paying $4K plus for your apartments now get to use your EBT cards to buy fresh produce that costs twice as much as the produce being sold at Associated....

Yes, indeed, there is "always something going on in Stuyvesant Town"!  Too much going on, in fact, because I have more news, but will hold it off for another day. I'm exhausted!

  1. So are the grounds now open to anyone that wants to sell their wares or is it only managment-sponsored entities?

I could use the money and I promise only to sell to residonts and their guests...

  2. Whatever one thinks of these desperate measures to generate revenue, it is scandalous that they would engage in these endeavors while the inside of the buildings are in such horrible condition. Is there anyone who could take issue with that? I get that some people may like an ice cream man and some may not. Same for a cafe, but shouldn't at least the basics be taken care of first? The stench from the garbage chute in my bldg is so bad that the whole floor smells like garbage. God only knows the last time it was fumigated. I won't even start with the laundry rooms.

  3. Up next: condom dispensers in the laundry rooms.

  4. Hey, what about Redbox units in the lobbies? ATMs in the stairwells--vomit-proof, of course. What am I supposed to do if i NEED coffee and I can't make it to the Cafee? Need a coinop Kuerig somewhere in the building. Long overdue, beach chairs onthe roofs. The oval is SUCH aschlep when I NEED to tan!

This place sucks. Like, no amenities, you know?

  5. Oh, but you know that if two kids set up a lemonade stand, PS (aka the campus cops) will haul them intothe pokey in the name of protecting the renting public...and their guests..

  6. Rose and CW should be saving their money for the fire door violations, not blowing it on Lady Maya's Junkfood-a-Palooza!

  7. I think a general rent strike is in order.

  8. I see the campaign elves are out asking for signatures. Why the hell should anyone in New York waste their time voting when it is a known fact that a useless old billionaire can buy an illegal third term with the approval of the corrupt Speaker and City Council?

  9. Hey Dan - Thanks again for blessing these various trashy ideas.

  10. Nope! No pressure walls here Adam Rose.

  11. Why is this any different than the (beloved) Good Humor trucks of years past? Or do you just have to complain about EVERYTHING?

  12. I don't think the Good Humor trucks of the past went into the Oval area and around all the playgrounds blaring their message.

  13. The Good Humor carts were stationary, and except for one that was at the SE corner of Playground 12, all the others were at the end of the loop roads. I was going to say that it's not cool (no pun intended) to dangle treats in front of little kids because it gets mommies pissed off, but if the latest wave of self absorbed yunnies is any indication of the indulgence that is tolerated, then maybe most modern moms won't really give a crap.

If it's really intrusive, the stroller mafia will speak !

  14. Sam the Good Humor man made his career standing on the City sidewalk at the West end of the 20th Street loop with a push cart. He never ventured into PCVST private property and never made a sound except when he talked to kids and their parents.

Seemed to work just fine for everyone and no one was disturbed.

  15. The Good Humor trucks weren't there to lure people to the Good Humor Cafe. That's the difference. Lady Maya is grasping for straws.

  16. Wow! They are selling ice cream around the Oval!! I'm moving out as fast as I can!!! I can't believe the audaciousness!! This place is falling apart!!!!

  17. I can't wait to see Lady Maya's forthcoming Oval Cookbook. Here's the recipe for her smoothie:

Open jar of Kraft brand mayonaise.

    Insert straw.

    Enjoy!

  18. Remember, PCVST did not own, operate, and fund The Good Humor man, these people are spending vast amounts of the communities money to fund their ill fated dream of profiting from the sale of PCVST. It is not about bettering the community, it is about these fools making the area into Coney Island. This Maya woman has no clue and even less class.

  19. "PCVST did not own, operate, and fund The Good Humor man"

Exactly. And the Good Humor Man wouldn't have allowed himself to be photographed for Oval Propaganda. EVERYTHING being done here now is for marketing purposes. It's plain as day. Keep an eye on their youtube channel!

  20. This is clearly what SNAP recipients need...the opportunity to buy a handful of magic beans for $5 and a $3 artisanal onion with their benefit cards. Oh, boy.

Actually, I think that's where they got the name for the program. As in: "Oh, SNAP! You just laid down a Lincoln for some magic beans?!? Damn! What you gonna eat the rest of the week?"

  21. Mmmmm magic beans
