Please disregard erroneous reports on other websites and blogs which posted an earlier date. We look forward to having many of our favorite farmers back, as well as a few new ones! The market continues to be a special amenity - for PCVST residents and guests.
DNAinfo.com New York had a write-up about the greenmarket, including a mention of this blog, and responses from Dan Garodnick and CWCapital.
There was also a response from Michael Hurwitz, director of the greenmarket program for GrowNYC, who said, quoting the aritcle, that "he saw no reason to mention that the market is restricted to Stuy Town residents."
"We didn’t really see the need to do so, since it's really in the smack dab of the complex," Hurwitz said. "The majority of the customers are from the complex."
Hurwtiz should have kept shut after the first sentence, as his second one admits that a minority of the customers at the Stuy Town greenmarket are NOT from the complex!!!

According to the update, Playground 10 (the Ice Rink playground) should be opening today, March 30th.

More noise! You will be glad to know that....
Big fucking deal on the stinking "greenmarket." How about fixing the laundry rooms and restoring the services that people are paying for. Oh, and while your at it, CW, clean the fucking filthy buildings once in a while!
ReplyDeleteMy lobby is full if dirty recycling and pizza boxes. I can't believe how badly things have deteriorated in the 7 months Compass Rock have been here. But we have a Greenmarket. Where are their priorities?
ReplyDeleteBread and Circuses, Bread and Circuses. But many of the new (and sadly, the old as well) tenants love this window dressing crap. I think I’ll call them the “Eloi”.
ReplyDeleteGreenmarket $ idea:
ReplyDelete10% off for all PCVST residents.
Full prices for all non-esidents.
Getting close to rent strike time given the lack of services in many buildings and the overall deterioration of the complex coupled with the refusal of management to discuss any of this
ReplyDeleteYes, this place is going down fast!!! No one is mentioning the fact that the SINGER/KATZ filing (re: Roberts case) has been withdrawn. Nothing in T&V. Hmmmmm-strange. So, what will happen after the FINAL decision is signed by judge in 2 weeks? Will things move then??? Really doesn't matter to me anymore because this place is in such BAD shape I would not consider buying. Too bad & too sad that this has happened. Compassrock is the pits.
ReplyDeleteAfter what GrowNYC did the oval lawn the past few years they do not deserve to be here. I am boycotting them and all of the farms they bring into Stuy Town. And I am telling my friends to do the same. GET OUT!
ReplyDeleteI had to check out the alleged mold that's been the topic of much complaint for myself. It smells awful the moment you walk in the T level entrance. 285 Ave C.
ReplyDeleteNothing has been done regarding the mold situation. It's been 5 months since Hurricane Sandy. Are you reading this, Councilman Dan?
DeleteIt smells like a derelict has been camping out in the T entrance of 445. Been that way for months. Just came back from visiting friends in Astoria. They live in an RS apartment in a building that was built in 1930s. You wouldn't believe how incredibly spotlessly clean the building is. I really felt like I was coming back to the wrong side of the tracks coming back here tonight. Compass Rock must aspire to be a slum landlord and they are really fulfilling their aspirations.
ReplyDeleteI thought NYCHA had taken over the running of STPCV. Isn't John Rhea our new property manager?
ReplyDeleteWhy isn't the Tenants Association LEADING and organizing the residents to force change and accountability from CW and our impotent politicians- a rent strike, a march in the mgt office anything but the status quo?
ReplyDeleteThere are drug dealers in 511 PCV on the main floor and nothing is done. It's common to come into the building and the entire lobby is inundated with pot smoke while two useless post Sandy security folks stand there and throw their litter on the floor.
oh please-happy easter. soooo glad i had visitors for easter so they could see the mattress n discarded furniture outside of my PCV building. i like to share my beautiful surroundings w/family n friends. i am so proud of where i live.
ReplyDeleteCompass Rock is simply not up to the job and need to be replaced. They remind me of Tishman Speyer inasmuch as a rich man's half-baked son went out and bought a big, overpriced property that he couldn't handle and drove it into the ground before walking away. Same ole same ole. Different asshole, but same ole.
ReplyDeleteOur clock is out of order since Sandy.
ReplyDeleteIs it too complicated for Compass Rock to set the correct time?
( Hint: The little hands are for hours & the big hands are for minutes.)

Which clock are you referring to?
