Our landlord, BLACKSTONE, can't handle Stuy Town and Peter Cooper Village. There is a lack of enforcement of certain "rules," and no amount of notice to this alleviates the problems. We are continually being told half-truths and fabrications. And we have no viable Tenants organization, despite our TA asking for dues all the time. So far, the politicians have proven to be basically useless. A typical New York story.

Full Service and Available 24/7
I'm assuming well-paid people actually write these things. But do they read and understand them? Here's a flyer that's being handed out in PCVST by or for Ms. Shields, a "Concierge Relationship Representative" for Time Warner Cable. That's a suitably impressive title for New York's yunnies, which makes me and I hope true New Yorkers want to gag, but does Ms. Shields, or her copy writer, actually mean: "I am full service and am available every day 24/7 for anyone to contact me"?

ReplyDeleteThis looks like an arts and crafts project. The writing is not corporate-speak. I have Time Warner and haven't gotten this notice. Looks like a scam, but I can't tell what the purpose might be.

ReplyDeleteSomeone who said she was Allyson Shields and was recently hired by Time Warner knocked on my door last night but I was in the middle of having dinner with my family and said I couldn't talk to her. She left me with one of these flyers. It's bad enough that marketeers PHONE you at dinner time thinking that you will be home. I certainly do NOT want them knocking on my door, too. Intrusive and disrespectful. Wonder if Management is getting a kickback from the door-to-door marketing. I wouldn't be surprised if it was.

ReplyDeleteThis sounds like some freelancer on commission. There is no need to contact such a person. I have TWC for TV/Internet/Phone and only ever deal with their customer service which, if not great, is legions better than Verizon! You have to wait on hold for a while to speak to a live person, but at least it's always been someone who knew what they were doing, unlike Verizon. I have never had a problem with TWC and I have been a customer since 1987 when it was "Manhattan Cable." Now, that was a different kettle of fish! TWC is ok. Verizon sucks to hell and I've heard good and bad stories concerning RCN. Can only speak as I find and have never heard of Allyson Shields.
ReplyDeleteRCN is OK, their tech reps are pretty good, when I needed a repair guy (and no, he did not look like Jim Carrey), he came at the very start of the AM window period.
