Sex and S@%T at the Oval

My response to the recent Guterman letter is taking a bit of time, as it's quite lengthy.  Meanwhile, I just couldn't hold back from uploading these photos taken this morning.

Yes, sex is occurring around the Oval....

And be careful where you walk. I almost stepped into this due to the surrounding camouflage of leaves. Note the trail of urine that accompanies the crap. If you dare, click on photo to see the captivating details!

What a pig stuy!!! Luxury living at its finest!

Meanwhile, a STR reader sent in this photo that should be filed under "Entitlement." Yeah, it's a cute dog... but, it's off leash and in a playground, both no-nos as stipulated on the sign. The person being so attentive to her iPhone just makes the photo more priceless.

  1. Dogs in the playground. Yeah, that sounds about right.

  2. Dogs n their mess. Nice , especially in a playground. Why not. Well, along that thread, we now have loud music playing in the PCV basketball playgrounds. I think the players might live here. They were college or post college age. Cursing n having a good time. Graffiti on the PCV signs on 23 st near Ave. C. Yes, we do live in the projects.

  4. There is a post at the ST PC Tenants FB page (not TA) about human feces found in the person’s lobby this morning. PS has been notified for video check. Nice.

  5. The office building is a lot bigger than the original plan. Just how many square feet is this new building Dan negotiated with the DOB?

  6. How about posting the photos of human feces in elevator in pcv. Very nice place we have here.

  7. No one took a photo of that and I doubt I'd be inclined to post it, anyway. Yeech!

  8. It's not the first time we've had human feces and urine in our lobby. disgust

  9. This is what dog owners want so there's really nothing we can do. Never did understand this fecal affinity....

  11. Dogs in playgrounds are specifically prohibited, and I once got a public safety officer to go after a woman who had her dog in a playground. This speaks to how so many dog owners aren't truly prepared to own animals. They don't understand that feces and urine where children play is fundamentally unsanitary. They don't understand that having an animal off the leash or on a retractable leash can be dangerous. They don't understand that the noises their cutesy-wootsie animals make aren't what other people want to hear. Let me correct myself: they don't want to understand.

  12. Is that one of Lady Maya's doggie classes? Is the insufferable coordinator of lame activities still with us?

  13. I haven't seen Lady Maya recently, but I believe she still may be around in a limited capacity.

And if you say something, they will ignore you or respond: "What's it to you?"

    A keeper! Thanks.

  16. I'm waiting for some kid to be bitten by a dog in a playground or come down with some canine fecal-related disease. Let the lawsuits roll!

  17. Uh oh. If someone gets bit by a rabid dog, we'll be getting an Mci for canine care & protection.

  18. I though you guys stopped talking about my dog's shit and piss. There's shit and piss all over NYC, what's the big deal? I usually pick up after my dog, but so what if there's a shit stain left behind. The rain will wash it away. What about the cigarette butts in front of all the doors?

  19. In the last photo, it looks like the little dog is taking a dump!

  20. You know, just because something was banned here say, in 1961, doesn't mean it still is. You are living in a different time now.

  21. >>You know, just because something was banned here say, in 1961, doesn't mean it still is. You are living in a different time now.<<

You must be very new to ST/PCV or don't live here at all. Dogs in the playground or on the Oval fountain plaza, people in the fountain, guys playing football on the Oval Lawn are CURRENTLY not allowed. Check with Public Safety if you have questions.

  22. Different time, same place.

Same reasoning applies - 11,000 apartments + dogs = a disgusting, filthy mess. That's why virtually all large scale housing projects ban dogs. It's just common sense.

Tishman knew it too, but they were so desperate for overpaying new tenants they'd allow farm animals if that's what it took to keep the ship from sinking.

  23. Littering is also illegal, and yet there's a fleet of porters armed with brooms & rolling garbage cans. So what's the difference? Is vomiting in the bushes, peeing in the stairwells, chain smokers butts littered thru ought the cobbled stone park benches. I'm just saying these are all being ignored.

I don't want to step in your dog's shit stain and have to clean it off my shoes. I don't think other residents want to, either. And unless one cleans thoroughly and with a smell-eradicating cleanser, the smell from just a small amount of dog shit is nauseating to those who don't have dogs.

There are also health concerns, particularly where children may be involved.

And the argument that there's shit and piss all over NYC, so there should be shit and piss all over ST/PCV, is a very silly one. There are murders and robberies across the city, too. Should we just shrug our shoulders when that happens here?

    ReplyDelete
  25. BTW, I note this word in your comment:

"I USUALLY pick up after my dog...."

You're not supposed to "usually" pick up after your dog, but do it every time.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Anon 6:09's attitude shows why it was a wrong policy change to have dogs allowed in this complex. Though perhaps a small percentage, there are always dog owners who don't give a fuck about the dog stains along a walkway that their dog leaves behind and who will not pick up after their dog on occasion. The rain will wash everything away.... Meanwhile, we have a pig stuy. Thanks!

  27. "There's shit and piss all over NYC, what's the big deal?"

Seems Anon 6:09 AM may be new to the city too or he doesn't go out much. There are many sections of the city that are free of shit and piss. Take a walk around Times Square, for instance. Or the Herald Square area.

  28. Some people pick up after themselves, their children and their dogs. Others leave a mess everywhere they go. The problem is not the dogs. Its the few parents (of dogs and of children) who are inconsiderate of others. But let's not condemn everyone because of the actions of some. Just be civilized, considerate people and pick up after yourselves, that goes for the students too! Stop leaving your messes (pee and vomit in stairways, on sidewalks, in bushes, everywhere! someone vomited outside my ground level window and it stinks! There is a sense of entitlement that grew with the population of the students and the MR.

  29. "so what if there's a shit stain left behind. The rain will wash it away."

No it doesn't. Try walking the same route several days in a row. And how often does it rain?

"The problem is not the dogs. Its the few parents (of dogs and of children) who are inconsiderate of others"

That's like saying guns aren't the problem, people are the problem. And it's not just a few. Without the dogs, there wouldn't be a problem, period. And aside from picking up the shit, what about the urine sprayed on anything and everything? (Please don't tell me the intermittent rain is going to wash it away.) Stone pillars at entrances, border plants, lampposts--they're all being defaced and destroyed.

  30. LOLLL Next up - MCI charge for dogs! Maybe we can get a rebate for NOT HAVING a dog here as it always was NO DOGS.

    ReplyDelete
  31. What happened to the "Poopie Scooper Law?"

I thought the cops could issue fines to the slobs who allow their dogs to shit on the sidewalk and don't clean it up after them.

    ReplyDelete
  32. "That's like saying guns aren't the problem, people are the problem."

You do need someone firing the gun don't you (at least I though you did). Of course, if there were no guns there would be nothing to fire but that's not the situation we find ourselves in is it? Guns are here, kind of like the dogs.

  33. "That's like saying guns aren't the problem, people are the problem."

"You do need someone firing the gun don't you"

You do need someone owning the dog, don't you?

  34. Can someone tell me what guns have to do with dog shit and dog piss?

  35. In NYC dogs are suppose to shit in the streets. Not on the grounds, not on the sidewalks. But in STPCV we have a more than sizable number of dogs crapping inside a few blocks of common area creating a nice concentration of shit. People let their dogs crap in the same grassy areas where little kids play and fall down. Hopelessly disgusting. The only salvation will be if the place is converted to a co-op. Then we can create rules and enforce them. We will have the hire/fire power over security and any guard reported repeatedly not enforcing rules can be fired.

  36. I think I agree with 3:42

  37. As much as we'd like it to be coop, it will never. You should stop dreaming this dream. It is a goldmine of a rental, especially with the easily passed mci and charges for a/c, water (soon), electric (soon) and elevator. GL all. We live in 10 days.

  38. I believe that Parkchester has a no dog (or cat) policy. Not sure is this was fairly recent policy, I have seen comments referring to “grandfathered pets” on various Parkchester blogs. They also have the 80% carpet rule as well. I have also seen various Parkchester internet comments on this regulation; they seem to have the same issue regarding enforcement that we have as well. Check out the Yelp reviews (2 sites), many familiar stores there, the Yelp sites for PCVST and Parkchester could be switched in a heartbeat and nobody would notice.

This is a rental. Always has been and always will be a rental until they tear it down to put up luxury condos. Get over the idea that it will ever go co-op or condo. If that's what you want, go look elsewhere and stop dreaming of what is never going to happen.

  40. Up until now I thought dogs and dog owners were the big problem. Not any more. It's the Guinea Pigs and their owners. Sunday afternoon we were on the patio at Oval Study. On any day you will see someone, us included, eating their lunch at these tables. Sunday I watched a father and his son bring two Guinea Pigs on the patio and place them on a table. They promptly pooped on the table. He simply wiped it up with a paper towel and in a few minutes moved to one of the concrete checkerboard tables. I assume to poop some more. Unbelievable.

You have to get yourself to believe that to justify you departure. A little cognitive dissonance at work here I think.

  42. 8:09 No, I wish you were correct and I hope it happens so the decent people here can have a true home without the threat of landlord vultures. But it will not happen for you here, at this address. You can find many coops and condos in other parts of Manhattan.

  43. The issue that still hasn't been addressed is whether or not (after conversion) we can buy apts other than our own.

  44. How very sad the community that was meant to be has been destroyed by vultures.

    ReplyDelete
  45. This place will never, eve, ever be converted. You're totally in denial. Stop dreaming and start looking for other areas to buy.
People have been hoping for the conversion for over 30 years! Never will happen and if it does why on Go's earth would anyone want to live here?

  46. "The issue that still hasn't been addressed is whether or not (after conversion) we can buy apts other than our own."

I'm more concerned with upgrading my 1950's kitchen. I'll keep the same apt. I'm in a good locale though.

  47. All good things must come to an end. You've been seeing the end to this community for about 10 years now, when they first started letting in students, then the dogs. This place is so far gone it really can never come back. face reality and start looking for other places to live or get swallowed up in the muck and mire of the disgrace this place has become.
