CompassRock University

Yeah, you'll find our building managers are graduates of this "university."

It's a refurbished cigar factory in Tampa, Florida.

The joke is on us, I guess. Next time you contact your building manager, ask him or her about CompassRock University. Ask them if it's accredited. And in what exactly.

  1. OMHell. I love you STR = and don't forget to ask tuition fees - dorm included of course.

  2. I can't believe this outfit really refers to itself as a "University!" What pretentious, lying assholes. We really have to get the word out to Coop City that they should resist with all their might being "managed" by these incompetent, inept, totally dishonest assholes. How the hell do they stay in charge here? Must be the political version of the "casting couch." They are useless and poisonous. With all the competent management companies in NYC, why does CR get any contracts? Certainly not because they are competent. They treat tenants like dirt. I think that the people who live in Coop City are more likely to be "real" New Yorkers, rather than all these flyover state transients we have here and they will be screaming for blood if CR gets the job and tries the same shit they have been pulling on us for the past few years.
The folks at Riverton and their TA didn't put up with CR's shit for long. I wish we had a TA instead of a milquetoast bunch of sycophantic idiots like Marsh, et al. They just stop short of blow-jobbing the pols because they think they will get some kind of favorable deal to buy this dump. It is sickening.

Who are these teachers, what are their qualifications, and what are they teaching "unethical business practices 101"? political donations (ahem bribery) 202? how to screw the zoning rules 303? how to hide behind an llc grad degree? Do they have dorms and will they pay for my flight to Florida cuz I'd like to attend this University next Springbreak....er I mean Spring semester........

  10. Compass Rock which was "formed" in 2012 when a group of people with very questionable resumes came together has "formed" a university to make them seem legit and as all companies big and small know, use the Florida address for .. very questionable financial transactions. This needs serious investigation by someone who is not corrupt. Good luck finding THAT special someone in this town.

  11. The building at this address is used by many businesses. Some real like art galleries and artist studios. Some illegal like the empty office you see in the movies that is just a front for other activities. Doubt they even conduct business there let alone a teaching university. Has anyone seen the new teaching training room they installed in 272 First Avenue? Saw that office Saturday. The laws, zoning they busted to build that definitely took some heavy political cooperation. What a joke.

Sketchy llc companies do the same trick where they pretend to have an Albany office to open their llc and run a few ads in a local paper away from where they really do business so no one sees what they are up to. The same address is used by hundreds of llc. Everyone knows about it. The politicians arranged for this way for businesses to set up to hide it from their constituents so they can pretend like they didn't know what was going on. I wonder how close to the Albany capital building these fake llc offices are. Didn't an earlier commentator post the pcvst's newest llc Albany office address? How many llc use that address? Crooks all of them and right under the watchful eye and helping hands of Albany and local Pol's here.

No joke. Our building managers even had that on their LinkedIn resume, but I believe they took it off since it was mentioned in the commentary section here a few weeks ago.

  13. No joke. Compass Rock even lists it as one of their "regional offices"

Here are some other businesses at the same address

In fairness some of these businesses are real art studios. Others are fake empty offices.

  19. That didn't take long. Playground open less than 1 week and already Compass Rock CW is using the only sidewalk (there used to be two but they eliminated one for their offices) so they took the only sidewalk we have to access the playground, where our kids were running all around, and Compass Rock CW Capital has the audacity to drive and park their vehicles on the one sidewalk.

Hey Compass Rock use the street like everyone else has to and stop being so lazy you drive your vehicles to the door of your ugly offices. Get off our sidewalks with your vehicles and keep your vehicles away from our kids.

We just left the playground so maybe the vehicle is still there if anyone wants to take a photo.

  21. Here's the thing. The purchase price would be corrected around $2 Billion if these crooks would stop covering up the quality of the land. They know the land is a mess from the gas storage tanks along with all the crap they used 50 years ago and if that got out then the price would be reassessed to its real value which I would still buy into and raise my family here as long as we could stop them from anymore digging.

The real price and not the Compass rock preferential price.............kind of an upside down version of what they throw at us with real versus preferential. Bottom line is this. The real price of Peter Cooper Village Stuyvesant Town is around $2 Billion and it should never be dug up or the toxic subsurface contamination will poison everything.

So let's get the real price out there and get on with buying without Brookfield/Speyer!

  26. Am catching up on all the news and cannot believe what Kavanagh said, that people need to send post cards to Cuomo so he knows how many people will be upset if they keep screwing us out of our homes. Cuomo knows the numbers and does not care.
Cuomo is slowly eroding rent stabilization over time to minimize the impact of the power of the people because if he did away with rent stabilization all at once people would fight back all at once. This perpetual endless years of struggle for scraps is Cuomo tactic to weaken people. That people use the same fighting tactics every year, rallies, bus rides to Albany, post cards, is a joke to Cuomo. We are not fighting. We are weak in our tactical choices and efforts. We are playing his game and he is slowly beating us. Post cards? Really? We need to grow up and stop with these post cards and use better tactics but that requires better political leaders who are truly on the side of the people. Otherwise we are repeatedly banging our heads against the wall.

How politician's laws on llc's are the joke of real estate

Maybe Platinum Hideaway and Hebrews 3:4 will run into each other in the elevator of Extell Development’s glitzy One57. Pac Wholly Own could knock on Escape from New York’s door for a cup of sugar.

Weird names, you say? They’re just they’re some of the monikers wealthy investors have used for the limited liability companies through which they purchase some of New York’s priciest pads. Less exciting pseudonyms behind LLCs at the tower include names such as Cm157 LLC, 44B LLC, NYC Condo LLC and Oceana 57 LLC.)

Finally there is this REBNY gem, REBNY opposes ways to address climate-change

A REBNY representative showed up at a City Council committee hearing Wednesday to stress the trade group’s opposition to a bill that would limit illumination in the city’s commercial and retail buildings at night.

The bill, sponsored by Council Member Donovan Richards, aims to help with Mayor Bill de Blasio’s goal of slashing citywide greenhouse gas emissions by 80 percent by 2050 — legislation that was signed into law in December. The new bill, proponents say, could also improve views of the night sky and be a boon to birds whose migration patterns are jeopardized by the city’s bright lights.

They care only for money and would probably do anything (as in anything) for money. It is their god, their religion. They wouldn't concern me at all if it wasn't for the fact that they buy our politicians and have too much damn power.
