Daily Sight

Every day. I would be shocked if there was one day in which the loops were free of tossed out furniture and open mattresses.

  1. This dumping is also right by the Management Office.

"To help the City's fight against bedbugs and to avoid a $100 fine, seal any mattress or box spring in a plastic bag before putting it out with your regular garbage for bulk collection. You can get large plastic bags at department stores, home improvement stores, and moving supply centers."

  3. It is so disgusting And unsanitary. We never had this before. They even established several dumping sites along the loops. Incredible that this management allows this.

A bulk item is something that is too large to fit into a garbage bin or bag. You can get free curbside removal of bulk items from residences.

Bulk metal and rigid plastic items are collected on recycling collection days, while all other bulk items are collected on normal garbage collection days. There is no limit on the number of non-metal or metal items for each building.

    The following guidelines apply:

You should schedule an appointment for non-recyclable items larger than 4 feet by 3 feet. Items will be picked up on your appointment day.
Put small (4 feet by 3 feet and smaller) non-recyclable items out the night before any garbage collection day.
Put recyclable items (metal and rigid plastics) out the night before your recycling day.
You must make an appointment for the pickup of any appliance containing CFCs or Freon, such as air conditioners and refrigerators.
You cannot bring bulk items to the City's special waste disposal sites.
Construction or renovation debris is considered commercial waste, unless you have done the work yourself and did not hire anyone to help. You can place up to six items (bags, bundles) curbside for home repair debris.
All other bulk items placed out for collection must not be placed in the street, extend in front of another property, or impede pedestrian traffic. If you have a large amount of items, consider placing them out over several collection days.

  7. https://www1.nyc.gov/assets/dsny/site/contact/cfc-recovery-appointment-request

We provide free curbside removal of appliances containing chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) gas, such as refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, water coolers or dehumidifiers. Before any appliance containing CFCs is discarded, callers must make an appointment with us to remove the CFCs and tag the appliance. Only tagged appliances will be picked up. As a safety precaution, hinges and locks must be removed from refrigerators and freezers.

Appointments can not be made anonymously.
This service is not available to commercial addresses. Businesses must hire private carters to dispose of appliances and CFC appointments made by a business may result in a Notice of Violation being issued.
Before discarding any refrigerator or freezer, water cooler, dehumidifier, air conditioner, or other type of appliance containing non-flammable Chlorofluorocarbon gas (CFC), you must call 311 or request an appointment online for the recovery of the CFC and pick-up for recycling.
Appliances for CFC recovery must be placed curbside after 4:00 PM the evening BEFORE the CFC Recovery appointment at the location where recycling is normally placed.
We cannot pick up refrigerators with a flammable warning sticker that contain a new kind of Refrigerant called R600a. Residents will need to contact the manufacturer of the appliance or a waste removal vendor for options to safely dispose these appliances.

How to set out for pickup

Set out appliances with their backs facing the street. Only appliances that are tagged for pick-up will be collected.
If you need to dispose of a large quantity of appliances, contact the local DSNY garage.

  8. I have never seen anything like the excessive garbage dumped on these loops and even sometimes on the sidewalks. Mattresses are usually uncovered. It is a disgrace despite the cackling of the TA bitches.can imagine how filthy their apartments must be if they don’t mind this.

  9. Can’t wait to see Peter W’s response to this one. Will probably read something like this, “ Your comment on StiyTown and it’s management company are not typical based on what others say. Everyone loves us. However, I will look into what you said even though I know you’re wrong. All complaints are unfounded.”

  10. And all this for $3600 = 1 bedroom $4500 for a 2. Such a bargain especially for those renewing!

    1. At one time there was one spot on the loop set aside for bulk items and it was set back pretty far from the buildings. This creation of 3 dumping sites is a crime. Plus they dump regular garbage and it sometimes lays out there for a day. Pig Stuy.
