Home Sweet Home - 2

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. This is what "greets" me when I exit my building. The mattresses have been there for a least two days. Before that, there were other uncovered mattresses in that place. Also if you just need to go to the bathroom, there are dirty toilets that you can use on the other loop from 14th Street. They are also "sitting" there. Nice going, Blackstone. Thank you for your consideration.

  1. This dumping of garbage in the loops is one of the most disgusting aspects of living here. This was instituted by Blackstone, do we cannot blame previous owners for this. This is why I am reluctant to have company here. It is embarrassing.

  2. They should rename this place "Rick's Junk Yard." It looks like a scene from Sanford & Son.

  4. My guess is that the dumpster is being used by a vendor, and that the mattresses are just being dumped into it by people moving out. Nobody in their right mind would use a trash dumpster for such a bulky and relatively light item as a mattress because they take up too much room. It probably costs in excess of $700 bucks to rent that dumpster and dispose of the contents. You would just use a box truck for mattresses.

  5. This is as bad as when the brain-damaged Rob Speyer had huge dumpsters parked outside buildings and they were emptied every morning at 3 am. We have gone from one stinking slumlord to another over the last few years. Let's just call this place what it actually is: a SLUM. A fetid slum, run by total idiots.

    1. They set up dumping spots with signs all over the loop. That is the problem. When you actually set up dumping sites, people will obviously dump. Not sure what they are thinking.

I remember that well. Almost outside my window. Many times, I was woken up by this loud abrasive noise, and I am sure I'm not the only one. And, yes, I complained. Nothing was done. Until, finally (two years?) the dumpsters were moved to that garage at the perimeter, on the east.

  9. Thanks for reminding me about those 2 horrific years of those dumpsters in the Ave C loop. I lived about 300 feet away, and remember the sounds at 3 AM of those things slamming against the pavement when they were dropped off. A "gift" from Rob Speyer (die in hell Robbie).

  10. The other night after midnight on my walk I actually saw a car drive into the 1st Avenue loop, pull over, the driver and passenger got out, and dumped bagsful of garbage at the dumping spot, quickly got back into auto and speed off.

  12. Walked through East Midtown Plaza a few times over the past few days. They have an absolute no smoking and no dog ban in their recently redone plaza.

Each time I saw a guard escorting a smoker or dog walker off of their property. While I understand we are talking about a much smaller area, they are still doing it. We don’t even see our guards stopping people at the gate on 22nd, so there’s no way we will ever see anything.

The difference is that their coop board demands the rules be followed, out management company has no interest in enforcing rules.

  17. East Midtown Plaza: 2:00 PM Wednesday is mistaken. Dogs are only banned in some larger grassy areas of the plaza--they ARE permitted elsewhere in it. Rats are also frequently seen there. Said Plaza, moreover, cost $10 million dollars to be "redone"--money that could have been better spent on other problems. Said renovation was very poorly planned by a group of complete amateurs with close ties to the corrupt Board of Directors, which has only one agenda--privatization (to benefit solely themselves and a minority of cooperators).
Mitchell-Lama rules also prohibit ALL dogs--except genuine service animals--INSIDE EMP. However, many fake "emotional-support" dogs are being illegally harbored there, with the Board's full blessing. In fact, Board Members and the former Board President are among these illegal dog owners. Latter individual also occupies the largest apartment in the entire complex, in violation of applicable regulations concerning required family composition, but current Board turns a blind eye to their "friend."
Payoffs and kickbacks are common for everything, according to several acquaintances who live there. EMP is NOT a paradise, and middle class is under pressure everywhere in NYC.

  18. I don't believe our manager is fully engaged in running this place. I think he probably has more interesting business deals elsewhere and this is a sideline. If he lives on the property and sees what a shithole it is, then it obviously doesn't faze him. Nothing he ever tells us about rules and enforcing rules rings true because nothing gets better, only worse.

He should put up or shut up.

    1. He runs the place exactly the way his bosses want him to. He is actually quite invested in the PR that Blackstone promotes. The place is a dump because of the high rents which encourage a student, Air bnb, city subsidized and transient demo. The low life demo here has run down the place and Blackstone does not care. Any manager here would treat the property the same way that Hayduk does. If the owners didn’t like the way he was running the property, he would not be here over three years.

  24. If you didn’t get the email, here’s Rick’s Thanksgiving message. He and his staff may be grateful and happy to have their jobs, but many of us - whom they supposedly serve and who, by the way, provide the money to pay their salaries - are NOT happy with the job that is being done here.

    A MESSAGE FROM RICK

    Happy Thanksgiving
    From Your StuyTown Family

I thought I’d use this year’s Thanksgiving note to let you know how grateful the 500+ team members of StuyTown Property Services and beam Living are to serve the residents of Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Village. Below is a small sampling of what we regularly hear:

“I am so proud to work at Stuy Town; the residents make it a great place to work.”
“How lucky are we? We get to walk through a park every day.”
“The residents are so nice; I receive thanks for even the smallest of things.”
“You’re not going to believe how many residents stopped to thank me when I was clearing the snow.”
“A young man just thanked me for sorting the recyclables; I never thought they noticed.”
“How many buildings would put 9,700 solar panels on the rooftops to reduce greenhouse gas emissions; only Stuy Town.”
“A resident just told me they love the decorations; said it feels like a real community. I feel part of this community.”

This Thanksgiving we’re thanking you for enriching our lives; those who can say they love what they do, love who they do it with and love who they do it for, lead happier and healthier lives.

We’re pretty happy, and so much of that is attributed to you.

From our family… to you, our extended family, we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.

    Rick Hayduk

  26. Anyway Blackstone and Ivanhoe Cambridge can make a buck off of this once hard-working middle class community that has been decimated by its own tenant association condoconversion partnering with developers, they will. The pillaging continues.

Blackstone falsely claims to be in touch with the Stuyvesant Town community when it announced green initiatives for the property and some condo-conversion Brookfield partnership tenants even got in on the Blackstone PR. This would be a joke if it were not an outright lie. Blackstone is installing solar panels because Blackstone owns the solar panel company.

Blackstone and Ivanhoe Cambridge are using tenants rent money paid to Blackstone to buy solar panels from company owned by Blackstone.

Vivint Solar is owned by Blackstone Steve Schwarzman which is nothing more then a front end empty shell that invests money for the investors in Stuyvesant Town development, including the tenant association. How much money does the tenant association have tied up with Blackstone either in condo-conversion efforts or solar efforts or any other efforts the tenant association is hiding in their books?

What tax breaks do they get for installing renewable energy in student housing in New York City or from New York State? StuyTown is classified in New York State as Student Housing. It is not a middle class complex. Are tenants getting any breaks for subsidizing the installation of renewable energy in this Student Housing complex being as we are paying for it?

It is past time to see the tenant association books, investments, expenses, and what they spent all that money on when they worked so hard and tirelessly to make the Blackstone deal happen. Blackstone is reaping a fortune. Is the tenant association-Blackstone partnership too?

They are, indeed, vile slumlords. I hope you filed a 311 complaint. Something has to be done about this heat (or lack thereof) situation and I don't think the TA is going to be successful because they haven't succeeded at anything in decades. Maybe contact the media about it. The heat is so inconsistent here. Most of the time the temp in my apartment is just about at the minimum allowable by law; occasionally (very occasionally) it is over it. Never is it above the minimum! Fortunately, I don't spend much time in my apartment during the night as I am a night shift worker, but when I'm there during the day I notice the chill. I feel badly for the elderly folk who live here because they tend to feel the cold more intensely and I think they are afraid to complain because they know the landlord is just waiting to send the Death Team into their apartments. Maybe the reduced heating is part of the strategy to expedite the demise of the elderly. There's a reckoning coming to the scum running this place into the ground and jeopardizing tenants' lives with their slumlord tactics.

  40. 10:34 I do believe there is a link between the TA and this ownership. They have ceased to work on the tenants behalf and when you tell tenants to e-mail management or contact management for issues there is definitely something fishy. They get defensive on their website when they are confronted with their apathy and inaction. As for this being classified as student housing, that is obvious. Over 50 percent now.

    ReplyDelete
  41. The reason the TA seems to have ceased working on tenants’ behalf is because they get no where with Rick Hayduk when they go to him with issues that tenants are concerned about. I know for a fact that they keep trying. However, Hayduk simply will NOT do what needs to be done here to make tenants’ lives better. Why? Because it takes manpower and costs money and Blackstone will NOT provide either the necessary people or dollars. There’s no conspiracy between the TA and Blackstone. Just a greedy, unwilling owner and a TA that has no real power to deal with an owner like that.

The sooner we all read that letter of gratitude for the landlord property manager by the TA the quicker we can move forward with a new and real TA and then sue the old TA to open the accounting books to see how they spent all that money with the landlord property management.

    Blackstone Addresses Tenants’ Concerns

Following the news about a change in ownership just a few days earlier, over 500 Stuy Town residents showed up at a meeting on Saturday where a representative for the new landlord, Blackstone, answered questions.

Mayor Bill de Blasio popped by for a bit and spoke, as did U.S. Senator Charles Schumer, but the real star of the show wound up being Nadeem Meghji, senior managing director for Blackstone. Meghji started off by telling tenants at Baruch College’s auditorium that their various concerns, brought up in the days following the sale, were being taken “very seriously.

Meghji, who was in charge of the Stuy Town deal, frequently elicited applause when responding to tenants’ questions although he admitted he didn’t yet have enough information to answer them all.

He told tenants, in response to questions about student apartments, that Blackstone had been hearing about this issue more than any other.

He added that Blackstone would be seeking further tenant feedback...

We know that we are going to need to earn your trust,” he said ... We intend to own the property for decades,” said Meghji. “We only wanted to be part of this if the solution was going to be embraced by tenants. For us to be successful, you have to be happy.”

THESE LYING, CORRUPT, ELECTED OFFICIALS HAD MORE THAN SIX YEARS - SIX FU#KING YEARS - TO PREVENT ANOTHER REBNY/WALL STREET PREDATOR FROM DESTROYING OUR HISTORIC, WORLD RENOWNED, MIDDLE CLASS COMMUNITY AND OUR HOMES. INSTEAD, ALL OF THEM WERE TAKING DIRTY, FILTHY $$$,$$$ FROM REBNY/WALL STREET PREDATORS BANKROLLING THEM AND ORDERING THEM TO HAND OVER OUR PCVST COMMUNITY AND OUR HOMES TO THE WORLD'S MOST NOTORIOUS WALL STREET PREDATOR BLACKSTONE ON A GLOBAL RAMPAGE DEVOURING DISTRESSED MIDDLE CLASS HOUSING. WORSE, THEY ARE INSULTING US TRYING TO CONVINCE US BLACKSTONE DESTROYING OUR COMMUNITY AND OUR HOMES IS A TREMENDOUS MIDDLE CLASS VICTORY.

“This was absolutely a whirlwind,” said Steinberg. She added that she regretted that market rate level tenants weren’t provided with affordability, but said an alternative to the current deal would have in all likelihood been ownership by an entity that would “buy and flip,” leading to “worries for all. Now there are 5,000 units for the middle class... [BULLSHIT. DESTRUCTION OF ENTIRE HISTORIC PCVST MIDDLE CLASS COMMUNITY IS TAKING PLACE ON YOUR WATCH] ... We believe our years of effort brought about these results." [TRUE. HISTORY BLAMES YOU, SUSAN, FOR BLACKSTONE OWNING AND DESTROYING PCVST.]"

Council Member Dan Garodnick agreed, saying that while Blackstone was making commitments like making the property enticing to families “as opposed to student dormitory housing,” another possible outcome could have been a foreign investor swooping in and using “any tool to get rent regulations down to zero. It would have been Tishman Speyer part two but perhaps even worse. Everyone in this room needs to understand how real of a possibility this was.” [BLACKSTONE "IS" TISHMAN SPEYER PART TWO! 56. Thank you for reminding us via actual articles that our politicians and TA sold us out on the Blackstone deal. I don’t need BS rumors, I need facts, and the facts are that many politicians and Steinberg should be in jail for what has happened here.

I’m truly sick and tired of TA sympathizers (most likely board members) coming on here saying their trying but their hands are tied. Stop feeding us the BS, like you did with the sale of this property. Until the entire board steps down or opens its books, I will continue to firmly believe that they are working alongside Hayduk and not against him.

A true TA would not be making Ricks life as easy as this group of incompetent corrupt “tenant advocates.” I honestly trust what Ricks saying more than what the TA says.

  57. The sharks were absolutely circling this property when it was up for sale the last time and I think we could easily have ended up with someone even worse than Blackstone. That being said, what has really ruined this place has been its dormification. I have had several different groups of students living around me over the last few years and have not had one good experience with any of them. Uncarpeted floors, noisy parties, rule breaking of all sorts, etc. THAT is one of the major reasons this place has deteriorated so and everyone, including Managment, knows it. Most students are simply too immature to be living on their own in residential apartments and should be living in real dorms where there are human monitors to watch over them and address the inevitable behavioral issues that arise. Unfortunately, students are easy cash cows for Blackstone and will continue to live here and plague decent, adult tenants who want nothing more than to live in peace and quiet. The idea to rent to students, which happened on the Special Servicer’s watch, was really the death knell for this property.

  58. The TA has never ousted any Property Manager. Never. Ever. Where did that notion come from ? The TA has done nothing more than suck up to corrupt politicians and bask in publicity every time it has another orgy of self promotion and photo ops with the corrupt politians it panders to.

  59. I remember well that initial meeting which I attended and the TA, Garodnick, and local politicians welcomed Blackstone and crowed about the deal . At the same time, the Blackstone rep told us they would deal with the student rental issue which was the chief complaint of residents. What a joke. They sold us out. Students are now dominating the rentals here. They should all be ashamed. No wonder Garodnick disappeared his last year in office. And as for the TA, they should disband.

PCVST TA Board does a lot more than just suck up to corrupt politicians, they are taking money from corrupt politicians. This past year former Lobbyist (representing REBNY/Wall Street predators), former PCVST Boardmember and current NYC Councilman Keith Powers flushed $30,000 into the same TA Board slush fund that lying, conniving Dan Garodnick was quietly flushing $$,$$$$ into dating back many years. REBNY/Wall Street predators are bankrolling the corrupt politicians, who in turn are bankrolling our corrupt, incredibly conflicted TA Board. Just as they did previously with Garodnick, the TA Board now aligns itself with Powers not their PCVST neighbors/constituents. Just like Garodnick and now Powers, the TA Board will not stand up against Blackstone, at least not about something Blackstone seriously cares about.

    2018 - $20,000 (from Garodnick)
    2017 - $15,000 (from Garodnick)
    2016 - $15,000 (from Garodnick)
    2015 - $12,000 (from Garodnick)

    http://www.nyc.gov/html/citycouncil/html/budget/expense_funding.shtml

They also seem to receive an additional $10,550 each year from the "Manhattan Delegation."

If it is not criminal that the TA is receiving these extremely large sums of money from our politicians and city, then I have lost all hope in our city government.

I think the bigger question begs to ask - WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY DOING WITH ALL THIS MONEY???? We are talking about $134,200 given to the TA since 2015, and there is absolutely nothing to show for it. The people coming on here and defending them should be ashamed of themselves for defending these criminals. Next time you see them, ask them where the $134k is, since the tenants certainly haven't seen $134k worth of action from them.

  82. Have to agree with the sentiments expressed here. The TA does nothing for tenants these days. They should open their books and show us what they do with the money. They say they are unpaid volunteers, but I wonder if that's true. Whatever happens to the money, they certainly do absolutely NOTHING for tenants. They may as well dissolve. I think it is some kind of ego trip for the "Board" members. It seems very much like it exists to push and support certain politicians and, in return, they get monies from the politicians.

If they have nothing to hide, they should open their books. There doesn't seem to be a way to force them to do that, but as there have been so many calls for them to open their books and they stonewall them, there must be something they don't want to disclose.

Maybe when Bob Mueller gets through with Trump and his web of evil, he can start on the TA. ;-)

  83. I’d say that as tenants we now have over $100k worth of reasons for the TA to open their books! Next time you see them or Powers, ask them where the money went. I don't know about any of you, but I haven't seen $1 worth of results from these criminals, never mind $134,000 worth of results. I have a feeling the money is out east, in a nice little place we like to call the Hamptons.

And once we’ve voted to do something, then what? What’s the something? If management doesn’t address the issue, then you’d actually have to sue BOTH the offending tenant and the owner of the property. Who has the money for that, let alone the time it would take? And, due to the astronomically high apartment turnover rate here, by the time you might get satisfaction from a court, the original offender may very well have moved out and a new offender taken his/her place. The only reasonable solution is for management to wall-to-wall carpet apartments, which they have already said they won’t do.

I’m sure Rick is already on the phone with this tenant offering a settlement for their silence. I think it’s going to take an actual killing on this property for there to be some action on Rick’s part.

I hope the news catches this story, and the string of bad press continues (suicides, sexual assaults, robberies).

  96. The money Powers, and previously Garodnick, gives to the TA is from the City Council, therefore it is taxpayer money. I don’t know the rules/laws, but they should have to show what the money that taxpayers have given them is going towards. Any legal minds here that know about this?

It should also be public information where they have donated money to in terms of political campaigns, but I don’t know where to find that.

So again, I ask the TA sympathizers on here to continue to tell me that their hands are tied and that they can’t confront Rick because it would make matters worse. I think $134,000 could get us very good legal representation to fight Rick, so maybe you should come up with another argument.

We used to have a really good Security Force, but thanks to these despicable cheapskates who own/run the place now, they have been reduced to the level of Toytown Cops. You continue to avoid the issue at hand, but this can all be resolved with one action - OPENING THE BOOKS!

Show us where the $134k actually went. If I am wrong, I will gladly admit it and pay the $50 annual membership fee to rejoin you guys. Until then I view you all as crooks.

    This guy:

  132. According to their own posting the lawyer is John J. Sheehy. He is both a Board Chair and the Treasurer of the TA. He has a summer house in the Hamptons, and lives here in Peter Cooper Village.

  134. Wrong. The TA’s actual lawyer is Tim Collins of Collins, Dobkin & Miller, not that jackass board member.

  138. The TA represents all tenants, not just those 20 people that pay dues. They should be providing all 11,250 apartments with email updates regarding all MCI battles, yet they don’t. Their secretive ways tell me that they aren’t doing what they say, and opening the books is the only way to make me think otherwise.

Oh, and I know Collins is a fighter for tenants. We also used to get more updates from him regarding how things are going, but it’s been years since that has happened. That tells me either the TA board/politicians are quieting him, or he’s in on the fix.

Again, the TA is receiving funds from our taxpayer dollars, and will be forced to show where those dollars are going. Maybe a call to “7 on Your Side” is in order. They would love a story like this about how corrupt the “largest most powerful TA” in the country really is.

    ReplyDelete
  139. The TA is dividing this property more than Rick ever could. There are people that love what Rick is doing and there are people who hate what Rick is doing, but the bottom line is that Rick is doing what he has to do to make money for Blackstone. That is his job.

The TA has a job too, and that is to be the voice for all tenants. They should fight for the people who love what’s going on here, and they should fight for the people who hate what’s going on here.

The fact that they are not being a voice for all tenants (hell, they don’t seem to be the voice for any tenants these days) means people have to be their own voice, and it leads to the disputes we constantly see on Facebook.

The TA almost incites some of the decisiveness with their posts under the anonymous “Peter Stuyvesant.” They should all be ashamed of what they are doing around here, but they are all on a power trip... every last one of them.

    ReplyDelete
  140. My take is that the TA is just like any organization that doesn't have enough people working for it and doesn't have money (?). They are floating and they know it. They also have people around who have very little fight in them. The fact that they are secretive is damning, too.

    Management is also broken.

    ReplyDelete
  141. I asked Susan Steinberg why the Tenants Association REFUSES to open their books.
    Her response:
    "Just Call Rick"

    ReplyDelete
  142. The TA was great until the politicians sunk their teeth into the group. Now the group is nothing more than a political sideshow. How about a TA meeting with ZERO politicians??? Maybe then we will start seeing results.

Also, I’d like to see a breakdown of where the $30,000 that Powers gifted to the TA went. If Powers is pumping taxpayer money into the TA ($10kmore than Garodnick ever gave) and that money is then going back to Powers as a gift for his campaign coffers, then a lot of people will be going to jail if we ever get someone like Preet back in a position of power.

No one is above the law, although there are many democrats in this city and state that seem to think they are. Every illegal act they commit will all be exposed in due time.

Open your books if there is nothing to hide.

My take is this will NEVER happen unless subpoenaed by District Attorney Cyrus Vance or an investigation by media, newspapers, i.e., Post, Daily News, Spectrum News NY 1.

This is a scandal waiting to happen!

  145. But but but... DHCR, ummm. Nobody beats them, ummmm.

It’s all excuses. And to the person coming on here defending them, shame on you.

How about the TA stops blaming others (DHCR) or telling tenants to call Rick, and does what they signed up for. If they can’t handle it, then step aside.

I think the best thing would be for this TA to just go away, and let the pieces fall in terms of a new TA forming.

Wouldn't this be campaign finance fraud?

It's true that the TA was far more effective before the filthy politicians got their teeth into it. I seem to remember that their attorney used to be a guy named Jack Lester, and he was pretty good. I'm sure he is long retired now. The current TA doesn't even try to hide its strong bonds with certain politicians. I think John Marsh is the leader of the DeBlasio fan club and Powers and Epstein are clearly the TA's pet pols. Marsh always, justifiably trots out the fact that we had two rent freezes on DeBlasio's watch, but I'd like to know what DeBlasio has done for us lately? It seems that he is the King of Dirty Secret Deals with RE. Well, we're stuck with him for now, but I hope they don't start tampering with Term Limits like Emperor Bloomberg did.

  149. The TA cannot blame the DHCR. If the DHCR does something wrong then the almighty largest tenant association in the country would report it to the agency that oversees the DHCR to be investigated. The DOI oversees the DHCR. Did the TA Board ever report their complaints about DHCR to the DOI on behalf of the 12,000 tenants - apartments the DHCR regulates?

  151. This seems to me that that SPS sells Christmas Trees to anyone, not just residents, if they parse that delivery is free to residents. Another illegal NYC R7-2 zoning law violation that is a commercial enterprise. Hey Keith, any comment, I know that at least Ben Jacobs, your liaison, reads this blog.

    “Christmas Tree Sales
    Mon - Fri: 3-9pm; Weekends: 11am-8pm
Make your tree shopping easy this year. Get your tree and more right on property at Playground 9 (west end of Oval) with free delivery for residents. Trees, wreaths, and accessories available, while supplies last.
    Pricing
    Trees — 5 - 6': $80 | 7 - 8': $90 | 8 - 10': $100
    Stands — Small: $20 | Large: $25
    Wreaths (15"): $25”

I agree with you, Ed Dunn. The way SPS is selling Christmas trees this year does look like a out and out violation of the zoning law that applies to this property.

Keith/Ben, what are you going to do about this??

If you don’t address this IMMEDIATELY with SPS, you will not be getting my vote the next time around and I will make sure that everyone I know is aware that you did nothing when made aware of this ILLEGAL situation. In addition to correcting the text on the SPS website, you need to inform SPS that they MUST require a keycard showing that the person lives here before selling any Trees, wreaths or accessories.

Marsh's posts on the TA Facebook page are pretty informative. What are you suggesting ? A run for office maybe? Marsh does seem to be pretty consistent in trying to get us to focus on the rent laws. A diabolical part of a bigger plan? Or just someone being a stalwart?

  158. Sadly, 8:29 AM Saturday is somehow impaired. It was perfectly clear BEFORE the election that Powers was no friend to tenants in STPCV (or elsewhere in Manhattan, for that matter). This could easily have been deduced both from his prior job 'positions', and the way his campaign was conducted/financed.
    It's too late now, folks.
DA Cy Vance (mentioned on here a few times) would also NEVER investigate TA 'irregularities', even if he somehow became informed of them. He'd simply use his "prosecutorial discretion" to bury it all. His father--an honorable man-- is probably now spinning in his grave. Same with Mario Cuomo, who, unlike his son, displayed REAL compassion for others.

  159. . . . close to posting my name, Edmund, you brave soul.

Today I became physically hurt, literally, by the relentless abuse of land, grass, trees, space here. I walked out of my Oval building this morning in a wonderful, open, optimistic mood, at 10:30 to witness: much too many people, mainly "families," smiling and laughing as this complex was being destroyed in front of their eyes.

I walked right into and through a scene approaching one of Dante's rings of hell in which people were laughing and happily pointing out the destruction of this place, right before my eyes. I ended up with raised blood pressure, pounding heart, constricted chest and just plain shock. A sensitive soul? Maybe. But THIS is hellish and escalating daily.

NEVER BEFORE HAVE I LIVED THROUGH THE SIMULTANEOUS FILTHIFICATION AND RELENTLESS DESTRUCTION OF SIDEWALKS AND BUILDINGS as INSANE, COMPLETELY VALUELESS JACKASSES PILED OBJECTS UPON OBJECTS, STREWN EVERYWHERE, DESTROYING MORE GREEN AND GRASS AND TREES.

Translation: there are more and more "decorations" (utter shit and pollution of land, eyes, ears, grass; interference with birds and squirrels and other critters) every goddamned freakin' time I walk out of my front door. Massive, asinine plastic and who knows what other garbage in my face; workmen who probably don't even speak much English schlepping huge moronic garbage to install and electrify it on grass, across trees.

Not only the hawking of dead trees to hundreds of people in a light-infested (too damned bright and interfering with night-time darkness) enclosure of part of the basketball court, but trash "stars" on crap white material strung across poor defenseless trees, also soon to be electrocuted (more shit lights) at the basketball courts.

Nearly every First Avenue entrance into this shithole either already has, or is suffering the construction of "decorations," some electrified. WE NEVER HAD ANY CIRCUS, ANY SIDE SHOWS, ANY EXPROPRIATION OF LAND AND TREES AND PEACE AND QUIET TO FILL THE AIR AND THE DAY AND THE NIGHT WITH UGLY STIMULATION.

Even I, from across the Oval, can hear the noise pollution and disturbances of pucks being slammed into walls by splendid examples of shallow, conscienceless human examples of the destructive force we are.

Rick reading Christmas stories??? MORE F**CKING "MUSIC" BLASTING FOR "EVENTS" IN EARLY DECEMBER???

All summer I either stayed indoors, or deliberately took the long way around, even onto dangerous, pollution and noise-infested 14th Street to avoid looking at and listening to the ugly, ugly nearly naked bodies and behaviors of the throngs of idiots on my poor beloved Oval. Now? It is winter time in a couple of weeks, and it is nearly as bad as the summer.

Yes - perhaps some of the suicides of older folks are helped along by the spreading disease this place has become.

What is worse? Who is worse? The human poison who invent and force this on us? Or the inutterable jackasses (who live here, and who don't live here) who "just love" the shit (literal and otherwise) they are living with???

Oh, please, please, please, when will we stand up and fight back?

Someone being stalwart, I would say. Say what you like about the guy, but he has always been a strong advocate for tenants' rights and he's worked pretty hard at it. He's no quitter. He can be a bit annoying at times, but then, who can't?

  164. The TA became intertwined with the politicians under Marsh’s watch, so I credit him with a lot of the destruction of this place. A true fighter of tenants would NEVER have let the TA became an arm of local politicians, so cut the fighter of tenants crap. He is also a staunch DeBlasio supporter, so that right there should tell you all you need to know. DeBlasio tried to hide the destruction he is causing to residents of this city with two years of rent freezes. The whole thing was nothing more than for show, as he gave away more land and buildings to real estate.

Marsh is also allowed to post politically motivated posts on a page that is supposed to be politically unbiased. Guess it helps that he’s the main admin of the page.
