Management Introduces Another Amenity

They are called "hanging egg chairs." Right now they are in front of Oval Study, but who knows? Perhaps we will be seeing more of these around the property!

I don't know if Management got the best price. Maybe they got a package deal. But we here at this blog would love to help out, if we can. At least by pointing out the hanging egg chairs available and prices....

 349.99

 268.99

247.99

Sale Cheap! Do call. Residents can sit next to each other for that community spirit!

Update! And even though it is freezing outside, get into Stuy Town's very own Hanging Egg Chairs! Now performing at Oval Study!

  1. I think the ones near Oval Whatever are actually outdoor urinals.

May alleviate the pee-in-the-stairwell issues inherent with stuffing 5 NYU students in a 1 bathroom 'flex'...

  2. Management gets more and more desperate in its search for gimmicks. Do you remember how many gimmicks Bill Potter introduced in order to get more renters? No, neither do I.

Speaking of desperate, that email from Peter W absolutely screamed "WE ARE DESPERATE!!!!!!"

  3. I spotted these newest atrocities on a cold, cloudy, CHILLY mid-November late morning. I was nonplussed.

WHY did they appear when cold weather had begun?

WHAT THE HELL WERE THEY THERE FOR TO BEGIN WITH? (WHY is there "OvalStudy???")

THE CUSHIONS IN THEM WILL SOON BE SOAKEN WET, WILL ROT, WILL DEVELOP MOLD, WILL POSSIBLY ATTRACT SQUIRRELS OR MICE OR RATS TO TEAR INTO THEM AND FORM NICY COZY NESTS FOR RAISING BABIES.

The sheer stupidity and insanity and inanity which Blackstone's truly deranged and demented employees comes up with is starting to strain credulity.

  4. Hey, Rick, F*ck the stupid gimmicks.
    HOW ABOUT SOME HEAT???
Where is the TA and Susan "Just Call Rick" Steinberg?
They do NOTHING but self-promote and STEAL.
    Open the books, Susan.
You are a "gonnef"...Yiddish word for...let's see how many of you know...lol

I think the evidence is there. Stupidity. But, I would assume and hope that some people at Management look at those egg chairs and shake their heads.

  6. Of course they aren’t shaking their heads. All of upper management sat around the conference room table and came to an agreement that this would be a great idea, and the masses will love them.

And for those who defend Rick and say Blackstone makes all the decisions, I doubt he went to Park Avenue with this one. This is all on Rick.

  7. Eggs maybe or maybe giant festive ornamentsNovember 15, 2018 at 8:16 AM

Add some holiday lighting and North Pole decorations to them and put some heat lamps on the patio there. Could be a fun holiday photo spot.

  8. At 3:00 AM I saw a homeless guy in rags and tatters zonked out on one of the "Egg shell" chairs in front of Oval "Study".
I was out walking my dog ( with a lanyard by the way ) and couldn't believe my eyes.
I walked over to him and asked with a smile, "Comfy, huh?"
He slowly awoke from his stupor and replied sluringly, "Hey, Miss, ya' got a dollar?"
Without missing a beat I responded, "Just Call Rick!"

  13. Big arrests this week of DeBlasio friend and Douglas Elliman billionaire client's family.

Lev Leviev, son and brother and 4 other employees of his company arrested. Leviev is a DeBlasio favorite, recall that DeBlasio famously shut down the Lincoln Tunnel for Lev Leviev just so the billionaire would not have to experience the same mass transit headaches as the public. Governor Cuomo called for an investigation into the Lincoln Tunner Leviev closure that amounted to a hill of beans.

There is a famous photo somewhere of DeBlasio getting an award from the Leviev family.

De blasio always wanted a bigger stage then New York City and he very well may get it now.

The former Attorney General Shneiderman already put a dent in the New York City real estate shenanigans by Lev Leviev. These arrests are for more serious crimes and no doubt New York real estate will have a role.

Buckle Up. No more smooth sailing through the Lincoln Tunnel. Its going to be a bumpy ride.

Score one for the good guys with this arrest.

  14. Just took a walk around the Oval to enjoy the snow.
Stepped in a pile of shit just outside the eColi Five Turd Oval Café.
Wonder if it was one of their ridiculously overpriced artisanal pastries?
    Yummy...maybe not.

  20. Let me put it out there. I am no arborist and don't know much about trees, but I've never seen the amount of branches falling down as the other day/night. Yeah, we had a snow storm
(which wasn't heavy-heavy), but we've had many, many in the past.... So, just looking at the cutting of branches right now, I have to ask:

Is the pruning that's been done already a result of a lack of cover for other branches/trees that are in ST/PCV?

Or is everything, including trees, getting old?

Again, I have no answer at the moment, but what I am seeing is different than years ago.

  23. Brookfield, Kushner, Tishman Speyer, Apollo they are all the same and they all bail each other out by moving their money back and forth to each other. The TA partnership with Brookfield and Moelis was throwing this property and community under the bus so big RE could drive over us all. Textbook worst business partnership arrangements in history. The only saving grace in this toxic partnership is it failed to reach 85% market rate level / 15% rent stabilized levels of rents. 666 is a money laundering vehicle, actually nearly all of New York City real estate is a money laundering vehicle thanks to the current laws or lawlessness in the real estate industry. Then again if the TA can partner with Brookfield (who is partners with Tishman Speyer) or Moelis (a banker for some of the most notorious real estate developers) then the TA is capable of partnering with just about anyone including the most notorious of the country's landlords. We live in the Blackstone / TA partnership.

  24. STR, trees around my building are top heavy with unpruned branches. They don't look after the trees the way they used to and as they are so sparse, due to all the culling of recent years, they are unprotected when weather like last night hits. The tree "population" has been decimated in the constant quest for open spaces to commercialize. Avarice and intelligence don't usually go hand-in-hand and this property is the perfect example of that.

  25. Why is there no heat? Because all of those supposed "sensors" have been permanently "adjusted," so that the only apartment which receives adequate heat in winter is...Slick Rick's own in PCV. Remember folks, in addition to an exorbitant salary, and 24/7 personal security from "Public" Safety, he gets...a large, FREE apartment here.

    1. But the TA is collecting names and apartments without heat. What a sham the are with stupid what do you live about the pig Stuy posting. And over 100 residents posted.

  26. Didn't 666 Fifth Avenue used to be called The Tishman Building? I think TS owned it at one time. 666 is the (in mythology) sign of Satan. It belonged to TS and now Kushman. Absolutely perfect address for their ilk!

  27. 12:36 PM: I don't think Rick spends much time here. He is a part time manager and it is clear that he really isn't interested in STPCV and its residents. His "hands-off" management style has been smiles and pleasantries on the surface, but a cold and uncaring heart underneath.
I can't remember when we had a real manager here. I vaguely remember Sean Sullivan and he was as totally useless and superficial as one could get. I do remember attending a meeting just after Sandy and tenants were asking when were they going to get their elevators and other essentials back in service. One lady with her wheelchair-bound husband was having a very hard time having access and egress to her apartment and was being treated like shit. I could see she was very distressed. Somebody mentioned all the "entertainment" that was in the works and Sullivan got very riled-up and defended his staff and said "My staff wakes up every day thinking of ways to make you people happy." His exact words. He wasn't referring to the non-working elevators, key card systems and many other things that were kaput in PCV and apartments over by the river. He was referring to the fucking Oval Atrocities, as we used to call them. The FOR-PAY Oval Atrocities. That just about summed up what he thought were priorities here. He was fired shortly after that meeting. I think Slick Rick inherited the Sullivan Playbook and works by it.

  32. Why do I even bother to post this? Two tenants here for almost 3 months. no carpet. moving furniture at 1 Am. Absolutely sickening. Other neighbor here 3 moths before mgmt. made him get some carpeting.
These people never sleep. Up till 3-4 Am. this is such an insane place to live.
It's getting worse. there are other, better, cheaper places to live if you don't want to stay in Manhattan.
For me, waking up every morning totally p.o. from the inconsiderate boobs that live here is not worth staying in Manhattan.
Every year a turnover, new people to train, etc. etc. Over and over again, year after year. I'm in the process of throwing out everything I don't need and I am outta here!!!

    Exhausted-

    1. The constantly shifting demo here is the main problem. They are largely students and short term renters, sometimes crammed three or four unrelated into an apartment. They are largely unconcerned about the noise, cleanliness, and etiquette of apartment living.

  33. I hear ya, 2:53 PM. Am chucking out stuff myself and looking in the boros. It's not easy to find an affordable apartment these days as there are no more RS apartments out there. As soon as a RS tenant moves out, the LL jacks up the rent to MR. Thank you, Albany, you scumbags. This place with its noise and instability is very hard on the nervous system. No wonder some of the older tenants toss themselves out the window. Constant noise and lack of sleep can play havoc with the nervous system and even cause hallucinations. Maybe that's what Blackstone wants. More likely, they just don't care. One thing's for sure, The Mighty Rick doesn't care. Ice runs through that man's veins.

  34. 9:57 PM: and we can thank dear old Rick and his nebulous managerial "skills" for that. He turns a blind eye to everything that is making this property fail. At Resorts World they want filled up rooms and constant turnover. That's how they make the money. It doesn't in an apartment complex, thpugh because stability and contented tenants add up5 to success and profit, as well as less cost of wear and rear.

  36. Remember that Hayduk works for BLACKSTONE. He may be a hypocrite and offer stupid amenities, but he does NOT set the rental policies that are killing this community and turning it into a dorm/transient dump.
