The Worst I've Seen

Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Village, together with the surrounding areas, are the worst I've ever seen. And I have been here for over three decades. The Covid disaster has just exacerbated the situation. A mess everywhere one looks. Inside the complex and outside. Would you want to live here? Yes, there are reasons to do so, but convincing is starting to look purposeless.

Also, at wintertime, there is infrequent heat for many tenants. Unless you use space heaters and/or turn on the stove (against your lease), you may be freezing. Management does not care. If Blackstone gets penalized, the payment is very small. So Blackstone continues on....

Photos: Inside this complex:

Outside:

Much more to tell and experience. (My camera was "attacked" by one of the vendors, but I held on and took more photos.) The various quality-of-life rules are not enforced as they should be, and can be ignored. Outside dogs casually being brought in, electric scooters and delivery bikes, unpicked dog refuse, it's all here. Welcome and have a nice day.

Heat

Anonymous said...

No heat today in this fucking slum. Fuck their thermometers. It's cold. What other landlord has anyone ever heard of that makes tenants check a thermometer? It's cold you flaming losers! It's cold and we want heat! The heat system DOES NOT work. Are they too stupid to accept that and do something about it? Or are they trying to gaslight us?

Anonymous said...

"Who is worse? Take your pick: druggies, homeless, maskless, armed-with-guns-and-knives violent crazies, or predators in suits who torment you and kill you slowly (hint: suits refers to "real estate," political, "legal" subspecies of human animals."

Both types are equally dangerous and DeBlasio loves both types. The former he won't do anything about and the latter he takes money from.

I am watching NY1 and see that nonprofits are distributing heaters to NYCHA tenants. How about they distribute some over here in Stuyvesant Town. We have to buy our own! No heat here since yesterday. Called and spoke to some gal who wasn't very helpful. What a fucking shithole this is. At least the NYCHA tenants aren't paying what we pay in rent.

Anonymous said...

We have had no heat since yesterday (Friday) afternoon. We have to put the oven on and keep it on for the rest of the night. What is it with the scum that owns and runs this dump? Is it against their religion to treat their paying tenants with humanity and provide the services they are being paid for and are legally bound to provide?

Anonymous said...

We haven't had heat since Friday and I am sick of calling and being asked if I have a thermometer. It is unbelievable! They are treating us like we are living here rent-free and have totally no rights. Does anybody know anybody in the Press who could do an expose on this miserable dump? We're rid of Heartless Hayduk and now this latest smirking joker they put in place is even worse! We don't even get a quick gush of heat anymore.

"We are no longer living in the America of our parents, grandparents and even grandparents. We are living under a pseudo-fascist regime where human life is only worth what its minerals can be sold for.

Has nobody else noticed this? Am I the only one who has been awake these past four years?"

No, you are not the only one who has noticed this. We have had no heat for the last few days and when you call the first thing they want to know is if you have a thermometer. My thermometer is consistently below the legal minimum, but that doesn't make a difference to these bastards. I think they are trying to exterminate us by making us sick and miserable. This is most definitely a pseudo-fascist regime. These so-called "managers" are lying scum. New one no better than old one.

Just went and put my garbage down the chute and noticed it is warmer out in the hall than it is in my apartment. Maybe I'll sleep out there in a sleeping bag tonight because my bedroom is cold enough to hang meat. I usually sleep in the LR during the winter because it is cold, but not like the Siberia that is the BR! OMG! Can't wait to move out of here and warn everybody I ever meet to NEVER EVER even THINK of renting here! What a shithole!

Minimal heat in this dump.
Rick the Dick Hydick is gone.
Thank goodness.
Let's see is the new head honcho Paul Buck...I mean...Burke...is any different.
HOW ABOUT SOME HEAT, Paul?

82 in my apartment still!

I’d swap with you anytime, my apartment is barely 65 most of the time unless I put a space heater on for a while . At night that “toasty”

Burke seems to be worse than Hayduk. He's been writing some inane nonsense from the very first posting.

I ought not be writing this because my own mother died of dementia, but I wonder if Paul Burke does not suffer from some form of it - his messages are embarrassingly syrupy, sentimental, and also DANGEROUS.

From the first, he has been ACTIVELY ENCOURAGING PEOPLE TO GATHER IN GROUPS.

Snowmen? Magical? Take your kids out sledding? Has anyone seen all of the various morons at the ice rink (which is ILLEGAL and has no business here to begin with, of course). The few times I've walked past, there are stupid, dangerous "parents" in knots of them, kids without masks drinking I don't know what, groups of idiots spilling over nearly onto the paving around the fountain. LOTS OF UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL SOCIALIZING.

IN ADDITION TO THESE DANGEROUS MORONS, THERE ARE STILL MORE POTENTAL COVID-KILLER-CARRIERS GATHERED IN TIGHTLY PACKED GROUPS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE OVAL TO MARVEL AT THE "SNOWMEN ON THE OVAL."

At the very least, PCV (Paul Covid Burke) was obligated in today's "message" to WARN PEOPLE NOT TO HAVE ANYONE AT ALL AS GUESTS TONIGHT FOR THIS SUPERBOWL ATROCITY WHICH WILL ASSUREDLY END UP KILLING THOUSANDS OF MORE PEOPLE ACROSS THE COUNTRY.

Nope. Instead, we are treated to this totally disingenuous 1984 style "good neighbors" communication entitled: "Super Sunday Snow Update" in which he ends this way:

"For those of you watching later, enjoy the game and tip your delivery people well."

Wonderful. Terrific. Very caring about the delivery people risking their lives every damned day. How about the above-mentioned, 'DO NOT HAVE ANYONE IN YOUR APARTMENT WHO DOES NOT LIVE WITH YOU.'???

Usually there is no heat in my apartment until 8:30-9:00AM in the morning. When I wake up my place is arctic cold. Then I get a brief puff of heat which cuts out after about an hour. It's like living in a cold water flat. Calls to Resident Services are worthless. Next time they offer me a thermometer I'll tell them to shove it up Rick Hyduk's behind.
Wait! Didn't he leave to run Club Med down south. Good riddance.
Hope the new guy is better.
Let's see. I wouldn't bet on it.

Heat has been off since early last night. Guess they had to crank it up for a while for the super Bowl or there would have been a riot. Anyone it is 3;45AM and my apartment is ice cold. Thank you Management and new leader, Paul Burke, for being so sensitive to the tenants, particularly the aged and infirm. Sorry we aren't dying fast enough.
A little heat please, O Master. Please!

Anonymous said...

The stupid missives from management get more and more stupid all the time. Hey Burke, you MORON, send us some heat to our apartments and forget about the rest of the bullshit you so freely dispense. We are not interested in your flyover state mentality of gatherings and Covid sharing. We just want some heat. You and your cretinous colleagues make most of us want to vomit. Just turn the heat on and the retarded bullshit off!

Is there something the wrong with the water??
It has a weird smell and tastes funny.
I called Resident Services and they said they would send someone later in the week to check.
This is entirely different issue from the brown water which frequently comes out of shower and bathroom faucets.
Anyone else have this issue?

Anonymous said...

"Is there something the wrong with the water??
It has a weird smell and tastes funny."

Yes. The water has a metallic taste. Even after being filtered through a Brita filter it still tastes horrible. It's reached the point where I am never surprised by anything new and TOXIC in this dump. We have such a unconscionably vile and greedy landlord and such stooges running the place that I am never surprised at anything. Not happy about it, but not surprised. Best thing to do is order cases of water, though I hate to do that because it is so bad for the environment. We live in a toxic environment already and I hate to make things worse.

Anonymous said...

THE WATER: I think this was already mentioned a bit back.

This time, it is not the lovely Blackstone stewards. Probably on the TA Facebook page (the tenants, not the universally beloved and revered "Tenants Assocation"):

The water has tasted pretty foul for a long time now due to upstate changes in which reservoir supplies our water. This was posted in December on a publication calling itself "The West Side Rag:"

https://www.westsiderag.com/2020/12/14/why-your-tap-water-might-be-tasting-a-little-different-and-what-you-can-do-about-it#:~:text=It%20turns%20out%20that%20the,valves%20along%20the%20Catskill%20aqueduct.&text=%E2%80%9CWhile%20it%20is%20out%20of,System%20and%20the%20Croton%20System.%E2%80%9D

Many of us, I believe, have resorted to bottled water. I had been using a Brita filter for years in the kitchen, but found that, for my purposes, it wasn't working against the taste of the "new" water, so I also have been using bottled water and tasting our tap water every so often to see if it is potable.

BIGMO said...

"Is there something the wrong with the water??"

I live at 626 East 20th and yes the water tastes 'funky' which is why I'm using bottled water now. I wouldn't be surprised if it has something to do with the 'power stations' being built.

I even thought about sending a sample to a chemical lab to find out what's in this water. I regularly filter the water but it still has that weird taste.

It took a few months for Hayduk to 'reveal' himself as a total fraud. For Burke, it was obvious from Day One. Does he have a fake residence in PCV, too?

Is anybody else having problems with UPS inasmuch as they send an email saying they have delivered a package to your door. You go to the door and there is sign of it and it doesn't show up later. This has happened to me last Friday and again today. It is a total PITA getting a human on the phone at UPS. You have to turn cartwheels through hoops to get to a live person and then they're not really all that helpful.
I have been getting stuff delivered by UPS for years without any problems, but just lately I'm having no luck. They scan the stuff, send the email that it's delivered, but the package is nowhere to be found.

Another thing I've noticed is that notwithstanding Management's giant notice in the lobby instructing delivery people to take stuff up to apartments and not leave it in the lobby, deliveries are still being left in the lobby. We consumers are being treated like dirt by the people who deliver the stuff we order. We have to order more than go to actual brick and mortar shops because of this virus and mostly it's stuff that we need. It's all very annoying and frustrating.

I've been using Verion FIOS for TV/Internet for close to 10 years and it's very reliable. Hardly ever been offline. Also the TV pic resolution is better than cable because they use mostly fiber optics for transmission.

This CHP monstrosity they are building is blocking any view and sunlight from some tenants' apartments. Surely this is a diminution of service/quality of life and should be the obligation of the landlord to offer a rent reduction or a move to a different apartment (without any increase in rent)? I can't believe they are getting away with this. Where are our elected officials? Keith Powers, Hoylman, Kavanah?
They are very quiet about this and it makes me wonder if they are on Slimy, Filthy, Murderous Blackstone/Beam Living's payroll. I don't know why this scum calls itself Beam Living; it should Beam Killing.
Why isn't the Tenants Association up in arms about this? I'm sure if it affected Susan Steinberg's apartment we would be hearing from her.

Thanks in advance, STR and anybody who can offer some advice to a fed-up Spectrum customer who really only wants internet.

The amount of dog shit on the paths of Stuy Town now that we have melting snow is incredible.

25 degrees outside, 62 inside. This place is nothing more than an overpriced SLUM. Somebody needs to go to jail for this travesty. Calling RS does nothing. They say their "engineers" will check remotely. Right. Such lies and obfuscation is a way of telling the tenant to "F**k Off." They don't have any engineers. I don't think they have anybody who is of a professional level working here. The porters are the only people who actually show up every day and actually work! Any one porter here does more work in a day than the Burke idiot and the RS drones, who are sitting on their asses reading from scripts do in a month.

I have to laugh at the way local pols like Keith Powers keep putting up public service announcements on the vaccine . Other community leaders and community centers are actually helping seniors get the appointments. Anyone can put up city websites. No, that is not grassroots assistance. Garodnick single handedly destroyed this community when he turned us over to Blackstone, and for him to come out and say he saved it is just ludicrous. People who heap praise on Dan for this book of lies are just as guilty as he is of what has gone on here. Cant wait till Dan and Powers get cancelled by the cancel culture they helped create.

Hard to be Optimistic said...

It seems clear to me that literal and total destruction is the order of the day, both by Blackstone, and so many other entities.

"Demolish" appeared in connection with the actions that could be ordered regarding the illegal and ultimately deadly power plant already built on Avenue C by Blackstone. This was in the TA's latest update regarding the February 11, 2021 meeting of "electeds" with the NYS Dept of Environmental Conservation. (E-mail of February 19, 2021). THEY WILL NOT, OF COURSE, DEMOLISH THE POWER PLANT. ONLY US.

I read this blog closely and religiously, and have for years now. "Kill" appears frequently in connection with the denial of heat in the winter, as well as other conditions either worsened by Blackstone, or created by Blackstone. It was written some years back that a resident spoke with workers here who described the Death Team, or something similar about the employees tasked with entering the apartment of a dead tenant even before the family had been contacted. The list goes on and on and on of what Blackstone does to hurt us.

Demolition, razing of every building here AFTER DESTROYING THE INABILITY TO LIVE HERE SAFELY AND IN PEACE THROUGH A VARIETY OF SIMULTANEOUS STRATEGIES appeared to me to be the Blackstone objective as soon as they scheduled a press conference on the 1st Avenue Loop in September 2015, I think it was.

The streets around us are missing so many of the businesses and people we knew, depended on. And this began years before the pandemic. The streets are also terrifyingly unsafe, dirty, inhabited by some of the City's most obviously unbalanced and dangerous people. So are our subways.

I'm one of the older residents now. Of Stuyvesant Town, and of Manhattan. Older, a life-threatening illness suffered this past year. YET, today when I got onto the website of a Community Health Center to schedule a COVID-19 vaccine, I am disqualified because: I am not: "a seasonal worker," or an "immigrant" or "homeless" and so on, including my ethnic background and race.

I read also tonight that some of the vaccination sites in NYC stopped asking for underlying conditions. They didn't care. 'YOU CAN'T HAVE THE VACCINE IF YOU HAVE DIABETES, CANCER, ASTHMA, etc.' In effect, they are informing you, on your computer, "DIE."

What have we come to?

Anonymous said...

Maybe we should all write to the publisher and enlighten them that Garodnick's book is full of lies. He did absolutely FUCK ALL for us. He is in bed with the TA, the Landlord and all his skeevy political pals who routinely rip us off while begging for out votes and pretending to be on our side while they are tight in bed with the LL.

I hate politicians (especially NY politicians) and think they should all be exposed for the fake and despicable scum that they are. At least the Republicans are openly vile and don't pretend to care about "the little people." The Dems are the biggest hypocrites and liars god ever put breath into. NYC's Dem pols (especially around here) are the most amoral assholes who draw breath.

34 degrees outside and NO HEAT! I am using two space heaters which help enormously, but the two old ladies who live next door to me and are well into their eighties and have all kinds of medical conditions, also have to use a space heater and their apartment is not wired for air conditioning. Therefore, they don't have a safe outlet to plug in their space heater. They tell me they have called 311 several times, but to no avail. I'm sure there are a lot of elderly people living here who don't have the rewiring for a/c because it is expensive for them. They probably use space heaters during the cold months because we have to and elderly people feel the cold more keenly. Meanwhile, Blackstone is building two fossil fuel-burning plants so they can sell energy to Con Ed. They're totally devoid of any semblance of decency and morality.
Considering the fire risks here (as well as other risks) it's little wonder that getting renters insurance is so expensive when you live here.

I guess Blacksoul's state-of-the-art computerized system thinks it is August and not February. Definitely buying a couple of good space heaters because I am not using the oven and subjecting my kids to toxic fumes. I HATE this place and cannot wait for our lease to be up. Will spread the word far and wide that this is a cold, nasty, dirty, dangerous SLUM and the so-called "management" are a bunch of scummy losers.

Anonymous said...

"In the mid-1940s, when we knew less about environmental toxins, Stuyvesant Town, the sprawling middle-class housing complex on the East River, was built on a defunct coal-gas site. If anyone has ever studied cancer rates over the long term there, this would be the time for the city to reflect on the data and make it known."

This is a clip from an article in the NYT about the Gowanus Canal. I am guessing the NYT hasn't heard about the fossil fuel fired "power stations" Blackstone is building right on the property here. Maybe this is because Blackstone owns so many health facilities (or has financial interest in them) they are hoping to create a lot more cancer cases that they can cash-in on. Blackstone is like an evil satanic regime such as you find in third world countries where the people are used and abused. The Duvaliers, Marcos's and certain African dictators come to mind. And, of course, the friend of all dictators and rogue presidents: Vladimir Putin. Doesn't the latter share friends with Steven Schwarzman?

Feb 21 at 1:30 p.m.: I am so sorry. If I knew how to get YOU a vaccine appointment, I would. I'm told, though, that the current vaccines might not work, or might not work well, against the variants. So, despite everything, I have decided that waiting and continuing to stay away from this species as much as possible makes sense.

(Last night, a vaccine site asked for my "country of birth." Today I learned that 2 mass vaccination sites are opening in Brooklyn and Queens ONLY FOR THOSE LIVING CLOSE BY. I'll leave readers to speculate WHO, PRECISELY THIS MEANS AND WHY.)

I'm indoors much of the time even when there is no killer virus. Why? Because since the depraved monsters who bought this place took over, my "neighbors" behave so atrociously that any step outside of my apartment is likely to fill me with disgust, anger, sadness, despair. I used to spend lots of time near the Oval. That was many years ago, when there was peace, quiet, beauty, civility. (Huh? What does this word, "civility" mean? ask dozens of imbeciles these days. No clue.)

A talk with a friend tonight who understands human behavior, psychology and history calmed me by reminding me of what a consistently DESTRUCTIVE force we have always been on this planet. She spoke to me, from Massachusetts, of a man writing in the New York Times: he comforts himself by imagining the universe five billion years from now, by broadening his perspective!

That reminds me to go and watch, again, the PBS Nova, "Australia: The First Four Billion Years" to feel calm, to feel joy and wonder and true awe.

Please take good care of yourself.

We've had no heat all day (or all night last night). Well, I guess if they are not going to give us heat when it is in the low thirties outside, they certainly won't give us heat when the outside temperature is in the forties. I guess to the people who mismanage this dump 40 degrees is the new 80 degrees. Sure wouldn't want to stay at a luxury resort owned by Blackstone. I wonder if we don't get heat because they are used to running hotels in warm places? Haven't they noticed that in New York we get cold weather in February? Well, some people would think it was raining if you pissed on their shoes.

I wonder how much Keith Powers and the rest of our elected "representatives" are getting paid by Blackstone/Beam to keep looking the other way while work on the fossil fuel power plants continues? Notwithstanding a "stop work" order, the work continues. They must be getting really handsome pay-offs to turn a blind eye to this atrocity.
I wonder if Tish James and Cy Vance get any hush money too? They absolutely have to know about it. I'm surprised that Carolyn Maloney is clearly in on this, too. Though maybe I shouldn't be surprised at any of them. NYC is, and long has been, notorious for it's crooked pols. Boss Tweed looks like an angel in comparison! SMFH and sobbing. Next time I go to vote, I am going to write in the full name of Boss Tweed (William Magear Tweed). Maybe if we all do that it will send some kind of a message. If any of their canvassers (or the vermin themselves) approach me on the street when canvassing, they had better be prepared for some Bronx Cheer version of a response.

Concerning Garodnick's self-congratulatory work of fiction, we were BETTER OFF under the evil regime of Tishman Speyer. At least they didn't build an air-polluting power plant on the property right under people's windows. In front of some people's windows and totally blocking their view and light.

There just has to be some graft and big-time corruption going on here. Does anybody have any connections to the media or press? I'm surprised the NYT hasn't got hold of this. Makes me wonder just how far Blackstone's roster of payrolled collaboration stretches.

Stuyvesant Town is a HELLHOLE in many, many ways. It has gone 180 degrees from what it was and was meant to be. Selling us to Blackstone was the most evil, cynical and life-negating thing the politicians and the filthy, corrupt TA could possibly have done. I hope somebody writes a book about THAT atrocity!

Anonymous said...

No heat today. None last night. Spread the word. Nobody who is not a bloody idiot rents an overpriced apartment in Stuyvesant Town. The project is owned and run by sadistic bloodsuckers and incompetents. Btw, that Burke guy looks older than dirt. Do they send us the washed-up cruise director types who are too old to run a "luxury" hotel competently, but not quite old enough to retire and they get to spend their last couple of years before Social Security and Pensions kick in fucking up this place even more? We need some competent housing property managers, not washed up hacks from the low-end resort industry.

"I'm indoors much of the time even when there is no killer virus. No clue.)"

I'm right with you. Only difference is I've decided to leave. I'll be leaving the stytown slum in July. The Blackstone ghouls wore me down. I'm not going to be a hard headed donkey just because I have a "low cost" apartment. I've decided to start living with a little bit of dignity.

I don't blame Blackstone for being Blackstone. I blame the malevolent tenants association along with little danny. The nerve of this guy writing a self aggrandizing book. Fortunately, no one will be buying it. I'm surprised he was able to find a publisher.

That entire stretch from First to A on the South side of 14th needs to be hosed down on a regular basis. Hot water and disinfectant from power hoses. You don't want yourself and your shit to be hosed, get off that sidewalk and stay off. I really pity the small businesses along that stretch. It doesn't affect the commerce of Trader Joe's, but it is a curse on the other business which are struggling. If these filthy pests need a place to park themselves and their shit, I would suggest they go and set up camp in front of the StyTown renting office. They would very representative of the quality of life in the Sty - a sort of live trademark.

STR, the ugly and dangerous power plant is visible absolute proof that our politicians are paid BIGLY by Blackstone to look the other way. I am surprised that this hasn't hit the press yet. Am cancelling my subscription to the NYT because I don't believe they are not aware of this atrocity. No doubt Beam Living pays their RE reporting department to look the other way. We only see fluff pieces like that green beret guy who is supposed to be the manager. Where the hell is he now? Nobody ever sees nor hear anything about him.

That power plant is an absolute affront and insult to the people who live in the apartments it is so close to. If Burke and crew all came by every day, squatted and took a shit right outside those people's apartment doors, it wouldn't be any more offensive than what they're doing here. I loathe and detest these Blackstone/Beam bastards. I think they are sub-human.

STR, you know who Ramon, the Mayor of East 14th Street is. Have you seen him lately? I haven't seen in him in over a year and I am wondering if the little guy has fallen victim to the Coronavirus. Maybe he is hanging out and putting out his spiel somewhere else because the stretch of 14th, especially by McDonald's, has absolutely gone to Hell and I don't think he would feel safe hanging around near all the detritus who are littering the landscape at this time with their filthy flea market (probably stuff from dumpsters and stolen stuff). He was a bit of a pest, but a totally harmless one. I can't tell you how many times he told me his grandmother had died that day. He must have had dozens of grandmothers! I miss him.

The craziest part of things like Garodnick’s book, is that he probably believes the crap he wrote. A few buddies in the TA patted him on the back and told him what a great job he did, and that made him believe he is some savior. If he knew how many people here truly despise him, he would have moved out by now.

This is the problems with all politicians across the country and in both parties, they only listen to a select group that tell them what they want to hear, and the politicians take that as a sign that everything they are doing is great. Problem is that almost all politicians are failing the majority of us at this point, but the fantasy worlds they live in tell them otherwise.

Despicable how this so called community landlord and local pols offered no assistance in this. I got my shot. Had to go to downtown Brooklyn but that is OK. Just galls me how ultra wealthy Beam and these do nothing pols here did nothing. Other communities and community leaders acted. I know, they want the seniors to die off. That is why this is not a community at all. It is a dorm dump owned by greedy developers. The managers are crap and the local pols here are the worst.

This is a fucking hellhole and they are deliberately doing this as a form of harassment to get rid of people. No wonder there are so many suicides here. This places breaks the will to live, especially during a pandemic when getting sick from the cold could be fatal. I'm convinced that that is what they want.

Anonymous said...

"BS is touting the fact that their proposed CHP plants are already in use in places like... Co Op City."

BS is not doing anything to benefit tenants. We are freezing our asses off every winter and that is not going to change. We just have to use space heaters. They could send up heat if they wanted to, but they don't want to. Their so-called "state of the art" computerized heat system is an abject failure, just like our "Tenants Association" is an abject failure. If we had a real Tenants Association they would be aggressively going after the LL for all of its abuses, but instead, the TA and the slimy pols are all in bed with the LL and taking kickbacks to look the other way.

Regarding the vaccinations: I don't think this will help, but it always helps me to know that I am not suffering from solitary punishment.

My husband reads widely, as does one of my more news-junkie friends. They both tell me that the troubles we have in this miserable city are not unusual. Various cities and states also either can't get it together to vaccinate those who most need it or . . .

too many of the decisions about who gets it are questionable, prejudiced, ignorant, and such, and . . .

individuals are behaving badly by lying about their conditions and/or ages, traveling to venues in which they are not eligible to be vaccinated, and receiving it.

I hasten to add, though, that some weeks ago I spoke with one of the senior management people here in this lovely and gracious complex about Blackstone having the clout to obtain vaccine and take care of their elderly and at-risk residents. Said management person assured me that efforts were already under way.

Did it happen???

No, but you can instead work out with a buddy in one of our splendid "fitness centers", continue ice-skating 2 weeks later than the usual season closing, hang out in one of the two "Studies" provided here, engage in an array of other activities which could help infect you with any of the strains of the killer virus and thus end your earthly troubles soon!

Posters have been increasingly writing that they truly believe that Blackstone is either happy to have people die, whether from suicide or other causes, or that they are actively working on causing our deaths. Not to carp, but I wrote that, suspected that from day one. Destroy and demolish, and hurt as many people and other forms of life as possible.

They are typical of too many of our species these days.

I wish some television documentary or newspaper would do an in-depth report on this fetid place and the uber-fetid people who run it. Both Hayduk and Burke have to be the absolute dregs of Blackstone's "management" crew. Imagine going to a resort that was being managed by their kind? It would have to be total Hell just as they are turning this place into total Hell. These people have gone from being the dregs of the "hospitality" gigs to the dregs of this residential gig.

I'm just curious because he gets away with speaking out to and at people with such an air of authority. Not criticizing him because he always makes sense, but am intrigued that he gets away with it unless he is one of the mods on those pages, especially the non-TA page. If his name is a pseudonym, I don't blame him because Management would burn him at the stake if they knew his real identity. This is a rare instance when I have praise and thankfulness to express to a local politician and his staff: Senator Brad Hoylman and his young staff, who work around the clock to locate COVID-19 vaccination appointments.

Not so long ago, I got in touch with his staff asking for help in obtaining an appointment for my husband (60 years old and a teacher). I had no real expectation of receiving this assistance from them. As for most of us, there have been weeks and even months of disappointment, frustration, and worse as I encountered a variety of obstacles to appointments. I was especially anxious because I remain in our apartment much of the time due to the serious health threat I underwent last year just as the pandemic struck.

This morning, my husband received a message from a fairly close hospital with an appointment for tomorrow. Later in the day we learned that it materialized due to the efforts of Brad Hoylman's office. I do not have adequate words to express my relief and gratitude. And, yes, surprise.

I had received this at the very end of February from Hoylman's office, utilized it, and am beyond thankful to repost this:

"As we wait for more information about a vaccine site for Manhattanites, my office is here to help. If you're having trouble scheduling an appointment, you can email hoylman@nysenate.gov or call (212) 633-8052. My team and I are working remotely to stay safe, but are reviewing every single email and voice mail from constituents. So please reach out and we will work with you to schedule an appointment to get this life saving vaccine."

Anonymous said...

@9:59 PM: I also was able to get an appointment for a vaccination thanks to Senator Hoylman. He is the only politician we have who earns his keep. I wish he would weigh in on the CHP plant situation. We are being poisoned and generally abused by this vile landlord. Blackstone makes the South American drug cartels look like respectable businessmen. In fact, I think they are probably worse!

Powers had put out some nonsense entitled "Your Shot" about COVID-19 vaccination help. Burke, whom I think may have serious mental deficits, advertised some gushing idiocy some time back about this "help" Powers was offering us here.

It is, of course, a huge and standard problem that the landlord and the politicians are so passionately in love with one another, no???

That being said, Powers then came out with "help" in the form of COVID-19 TESTING a few days back, advertised by Burke.

VACCINATIONS? "THE SHOT?" Nope. Not here, not in Stuyvesant Town or Peter Cooper Village. Another relevant reminder: a senior management member assured me many weeks back they were seeking to provide us with opportunities to get "the shot."

Instead? Too many yelping dogs, especially at night. THE DANGEROUS, ENTIRELY SELFISH, NOISY, UNABLE-TO-BE-ALONE-FOR-30-SECONDS PACKS OF YOUNG JACKASSES GETTING IN AND OUT OF UBERS AND GATHERING IN APARTMENTS NEXT TO PEOPLE WHO NEED NEITHER COVID NOR NOISE.

HEAT? ARE MANY OF US STILL ENDURING COLD APARTMENTS DURING PANDEMIC?

Kudos to Hoylman and also Sirovich Center for helping seniors get vaccines. Shame on Beam Living. They can put on their sleazy, Covid spread events but offer no assistance with health measures for residents.

@9:49 PM: You said it all and you said it just as it is. The noise, the lack of heat, the braying jackasses and screechy girls without masks make the perfect recipe for death by Covid or death by depression. I wonder how many seniors are holed up in their chilly, drafty apartments, afraid to go in the elevators or laundry rooms because of maskless morons and afraid to walk around the property and get some air because of the numerous dogs (many off leash or on those very long retractable leashes) and the reckless bicycle and scooter riders who zoom around the property at high speed and silently? You will never find a so-called Public Safety officer taking action against them. They might apprehend an old lady throwing peanuts to the squirrels, but that is about as far as their courage allows them. I remember the idiot Hayduk saying to one of my neighbors that they could apprehend the speeding cyclists because they might get sued by one of them. Really???!!! Poor Blackstone could never afford to defend itself for being in the right legally?

It is really pitiful what garbage we gave running this place [into the ground]. Total losers.

So, how come politicians (e.g. Hoylman) can get vaccines to some people whereas doctors cannot get them for their patients? Is this part of the ingrained corruption that lives and thrives in this City? There is something so wrong going on when doctors can't access the Covid Vaccine for their patients, but politicians can get it for their "constituents." This is why I never vote except in Presidential elections. The local pols (regardless of party) are all as corrupt as can be.

I've heard of and have knowledge of such behavior. When I was a Visiting Nurse many years ago, I encountered such behavior in the ghetto slums of the '70s and '80s. I am guessing that Schwartzman and his crew of inept and indolent idiots are dedicated to continuing that kind of landlord behavior. It's a pity we don't have a tenants' association or any local politicians who will address this abuse. We used to have a tenants' association. What happened to it? The only politicians I recall who ever gave a damn were Stephen Sanders (don't know if he is still alive) and some Republican guy whose name I can't recall and I'm pretty sure is dead now. The virus and people's ugliness:

This afternoon, my husband passed a group of approximately 10 older men packed together, maskless, openly drinking beer and wine at the chess tables near the Five Turd Cafe. He did not approach them or call to them, but instead pointed them out to a Security Guard, who walked over toward them immediately.

Lovely. OLDER PEOPLE behaving like garbage, because, "hey, the virus is over!" And, "WE CAN DRINK ALCOHOL IN PUBLIC!" (Public drinking has been actually ENCOURAGED by the bastards in Blackstone for the last several years.)

NEWS FLASH: MOST OF ITALY IS SHUT DOWN AGAIN. PART OF FRANCE, INCLUDING PARIS AND ITS ENVIRONS HAVE JUST SHUT DOWN AGAIN. THE CORONA VIRUS VARIANTS, OLDER VERSION AND NEWER VERSIONS, ARE DILIGENTLY AND EFFICIENTLY SPREADING THE VIRUS AGAIN.

ANY IDIOT WHO CONTINUES TO INSIST AND BELIEVE, "IT CAN'T HAPPEN TO ME," AFTER A YEAR OF DEAD AND DYING PEOPLE, WELL, GOOD LUCK AND GO TO HELL BEFORE YOU SPREAD IT.

The New York City Department of Education, and the United Federation of Teachers are reopening high schools tomorrow and demanding teachers return to "set up their classrooms."

All of the OFFICES ARE CLOSED. ALL OF THE ADMINISTRATORS, AND UNION "LEADERS" ARE WORKING FROM THE SAFETY OF THEIR HOMES. THEY ARE DEMANDING THAT TEACHERS AND OTHER SCHOOL WORKERS WALK INTO AND SPEND THE DAY IN COOPED UP SPACES WITH AS MANY AS 175-200 STUDENTS and WHO THE HELL KNOWS HOW MANY ADULTS. (Typical class sizes are 35 and can be 40 or more. A high school teacher sees five classes daily. Even if a fraction show up, it is many children and adults the entire goddamn 7+ hours.)

WHY?

Would anyone reading this care to endanger their lives this way?

Does anyone reading this believe that hundreds of administrators ought protect their own precious lives while ordering thousands of other people to walk into guaranteed danger? Why doesn't, for instance, Michael Mulgrew, the so-called president of the teachers' union, and a former teacher himself, spend his days in a crowded, closed-in SCHOOL BUILDING?

Probably a poor analogy, but this puts me in mind of the observation that "Old men send young men off to die in wars."

Be it Blackstone, or the human trash living in Stuyvesant Town, whether young or old, or the NYC Department of Education, or the jackasses opening gyms, movie theatres, Disneyland and on and on and on . . . the human species is poison, poisonous.

Angry? Aren't you???

(PS: If anyone reading this protests about the economy and the immense suffering this has caused economically, well the simple truth is: were the government and corporations and very wealthy people decent life forms, they would have long ago distributed money such that everyone had all of the money they needed to live during the pandemic. That would include money to small business owners to be able to shut down their businesses entirely while paying every employee regular wages and benefits and then reopen after the pandemic is gone from us. Not impossible, or impractical. Just not realistic because people are selfish, uncaring s.o.b.'s.)

Am curious to know if anyone else has received a call from the management office asking if they can put a heat sensor in your apartment? I received a call today and told them that yesterday was the first time this winter that the heat was on for the entire day!

To "Entirely Fed Up": I agree with everything you said. Everything. To those with money and power, human life is expendable - so long as it isn't their own. Look at Cuomo. He takes big BIG donations from the nursing homes and, even though there was the Hospital Ship Comfort, Javits Center and some set-up in Central Park available for the seniors from nursing homes who had had the virus, he sent them back to infect their fellow residents in the nursing homes. Why? Because the nursing homes get big bucks for each resident they have in situ and they pay the Governor big bucks in donations. The whole fucking system is crooked and our politicians are the ringleaders. It was the politicians who foisted the evil Blackstone upon us. I wonder how much Garodnick and others got in kick-backs from Blackstone? I hope nobody buys Garodnick book because he is just trying to add to his coffers by writing such lying garbage.

I know I sound a bit nuts, but the lockdown and the shit we are dealing with here is making me that way. No wonder people drink, use drugs, commit suicide, go mad, etc. And it's always the people who are on the receiving end of the abuse of power, not those who perpetrate it.

Do you mean away from the Sty or the blog? Lucky you if you can get away from the Sty! Glad you haven't given up on the blog though and I hope you are happily busy. xxxx

Stuy Town Reporter said...

I'm busy, busy... That said, I also see more and more signs that Stuy Town is not functioning well. There is much BS from the people who run this place or are its spokespeople. This afternoon two groups of older people sitting on benches inside the Oval pathway--with dogs. It cleanly states "no dogs" on this pathway, but these people don't care, And neither does Stuy Town Security. Yesterday, a golf cart was on the inner sidewalk of the loop here (not the opposite side where the carts gather at a building.) I never seen a cart driven on the sidewalk from 20th Street, but there it was. Lots of children on that sidewalk, too. No one cares. And that 20th Street? These carts are not suppose to cross it, but they do. Not only that, they don't wait for the light. Violation, violation. No one cares.

11:53 A.M.: I don't think you sound nuts at all. I USUALLY sound nuttier to people who are indifferent, or unconscious, or selfish, or of the same emotional persuasion as the politicians, fat cats, wealthy, and the like.

For two days running this week, I sounded off, loud and clear and VERY angry to a variety of people: our beleaguered Public Security, various minions at the NYC Department of Miseducation (they are now following CDC "guidance" that the dear darlings can sit 3 feet together in school. Well, why the hell not? Go to restaurants, bowling alleys, movie theatres, "gather with your 'loved ones,' 'kiss your grandchildren and such.'

ANYONE READ THAT OUR FIRST CASE OF COVID-19 P.1 - the Brazilian variant - in NEW YORK STATE APPEARED IN BROOKLYN TODAY, HUH? Our very first NYS case, right here in NYC. THIS STRAIN, WHICH ITSELF IS MUTATING, IS A GOOD DEAL MORE CONTAGIOUS.).

The call to Public Security: this was after I left a phone message with Burke's voicemail (which succeeded, by a couple of days, a blistering e-mail about the asinine, reckless offerings of Beam Living in the upcoming days and weeks). The latest topic?

The building which houses Public Security, 2 Stuyvesant Oval, my building, has been targeted for what is called in legal language disparate treatment.

An e-mail message opined that the laundry room card machines in "some" buildings are not accepting credit cards for payment, although accepting cash. SO EVERYONE COME INTO THIS BUILDING TO ASK SECURITY TO INVITE YOU INTO THIS BUILDING TO REFILL YOUR LAUNDRY CARD USING A CREDIT CARD.

THIS BUILDING, AND ONLY, ONLY, ONLY ONLY THIS BUILDING WHILE COVID IS CIRCULATING, AND IS LIKELY GOING TO INCREASE ANY DAY NOW.

How many buildings here? 80? More?

YET THE RESIDENTS OF ONLY ONE BUILDING ARE TO BE EXPOSED TO HEAVEN ONLY KNOWS HOW MANY DOZENS OR HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE TRAIPSING IN HERE WITH POSSIBLE COVID OR WHO THE HELL KNOWS WHAT ON THEIR PERSON, IN THEIR PERSON???

The e-mail states that since the laundry card dispensing machines are confirmed to work in THIS PARTICULAR BUILDING, EVERYONE COME ON DOWN AND POSSIBLY INFECT US!!!

Burke (I am not going to be polite to or about any person knowingly and deliberately engaging in behavior which might well harm, possibly irreparably, or kill, me or those around me. . . . Not going to use "Mr." The language I'd like to use is not fit to print, and justifiably so.) has, of course, not responded to at least 2 phone calls.

As in Rick's behavior toward me and others, sooner or later, it became "fuck you, die and go to hell" in the form of utterly ignoring your demand for safety, services, sanity, peace, habitability . . . you get the drift. Jason Kalish, the putative somewhat new head of "Legal" services (legal - ha! Legal like Garodnick, Powers, and the gang), who replaced the oh so caring Fred Knapp [remember him and his thousands of evictions, attempted evictions and consequent suicides???] ignored several calls of mine last year concerning Blackstone's murderous behavior during THAT year's COVID-19 worst days.

That is not surprising, since Cuomo, the department of Health, DeBozio and numerous other "responsible" parties received numerous reports and photographs of literally murderous actions here, actions which might well have, and probably did, result in many cases of the virus infecting residents.

The 13th Precinct likewise ignored exceedingly dangerous situations. But, hey: they've been bought for many years. And, I don't particularly blame them. Police have been threatened, injured, killed, and ordered to stop doing their job over the last year.

Sorry if I'm getting carried away here. I know that everyone reading this understands why.

When there is a serious accident - maybe a fatality - involving a child and one of those golf carts, then the shit will hit the fans and Burke and his ilk will be held criminally liable. I hope that doesn't happen, but it could. I think this guy is even more bone idle and incompetent than Hayduk.

STR, your headline comment to this thread was/is right on target. What we are seeing and experiencing is the typical Blackstone affect on a property. Every property it buys throughout the world is diminished by this vile corporation. It lowers standards, raises prices and bleeds the tenants dry. It is noted for hiring inferior "Managers" and substituting money-making gimmicks for a decent quality of life. It's hard to say which "owner" did the most damage. Tishman Speyer didn't actually own the property because they "purchased" it with other people's money which went down the drain. I would love to see Rob Speyer and company brought to justice for the misery that they caused, but selling us to Blackstone was like throwing an injured man under a speeding train. It was a total death knell. If I ever run into Garodnick, Marsh, Steinberg or any of the other scum that was complicit in the sale to these ghouls .... well, let's hope I don't run into them because I may very well insult them to the extent that their kind can be insulted!

Anonymous said...

Garodnick and the TA were largely responsible for selling us out to Blackstone Beam. It was sickening how they promoted the sale at the first meeting which I attended. We have become an ugly dorm dump. I no longer belong to that despicable TA and I wouldn’t vote for Garodnick for any office. Such a shame that he will make money on a book. They sold us out to the devil. This place deteriorates more every year.

"I hope to God that you haven't come down with the Trump Virus." Besides the fact that this statement is 100% fake news, I guess if you're crediting the virus to President Trump then you will also have to give him credit for curing the Flu. Not one death from the flu this past year while Obama's last year it was 6 million dead. Thank God Trump was President when this started or we'd all be dead by now.

Anonymous said...

"We have become an ugly dorm dump."

Totally agree on that. Living here is now a bit of an embarrassment, as opposed to being something to be proud of as it used to be such a nice place. From the TS days on there has been a steady deterioration in the quality of life here and the way the property is kept up. It's dirty, dangerous and slummy. It used to be an "Oasis in the City" and at one time they used the slogan "A River Runs Round it and a Park Runs Through It" (or something similar to that!). It was a pretty close to accurate description as it was. Unfortunately, now it is dangerous to walk around because of the speeding bikes and scooters and the lack of any semblance of "Security." I don't think "Public Safety" comes anywhere close to what we used to call "Security." As for Management, all they care about is raking in the dollars. Instead of taking pride in looking after the property, they have prostituted it and turned it into a tacky, scruffy place. Oh well, that's "Progress!"

Hi STR, I've been reading through your old posts going back to 2008 and the Reign of Terror under Tishman Speyer. As much as things are pretty bad now, I think TS wins the award for Worst Landlord in The History of Stuyvesant Town. That Speyer was a real POS. A POS with added layers of dung. I don't know if his father, Jerry Speyer, is still alive, but I really wish that he and his Tishwife had practiced birth control or, better still, sterilization. The world would be so much a better place if they had. I don't know if the vile and repulsive Robbie and his woman have been breeding, but I hope not.

Some folks here should know that their posts, if vile enough or that mention Hitler or the Holocaust, etc., do not get passed. I can understand anger, but I can't pass some posts.

Well, it's about 7:30 AM and no hot water in my building and I assume yours. The promise was that the hot water would be back for the early morning, but so far no. And why? Con Ed is the apparent fault, but Con Ed is doing a lot of "no hot water tonight" recently. Is this problem connected at all with the new power-plants that are being built in Stuy Town?

Anonymous said...

As bad as Tishman Speyer was and they were bad, they were out front. Blackstone Beam pretends to be benevolent and is really evil. I would rather see it out there. Can’t stomach the fake benevolence that Hayduk and Burke put out.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

After 8:30 AM. No hot water yet.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

On another blog there was mention, from a Con Ed worker, about a tie-in.... A tie-in can be used to convert steam energy to another system or vice-versa. Something fishy going on.... We'll see if the new power plants at Stuy will be used as a justification for Beam control--and money, of course.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

Lenz's was mentioned. Guess what is being built near Lenz's?

Stuy Town Reporter said...

There are two problems areas, aside from the traditional Con Ed issues. Both involve manholes near the new power plants at Stuy.

Heat is coming back on.

Anonymous said...

Is the landlord going to be providing our heat and steam and charging us for it? At the current level of heat we get, they won't make much money by charging for it. Hot water is another thing. I don't trust these Beam people any further than I could throw them. From TS through CW and now Blackstone, we have known nothing but abuse, exploitation and, at times, downright cruelty. MetLife was no paragon of tolerance and honesty, but they did run a tight ship and we always had heat and they enforced the QOL rules. They kept the grounds in good condition and didn't prostitute them out to commercial venues.

The Corona virus is alive and well and living in my building, if anyone has any fantastical and irresponsible belief that "It's OK, it's over, everything is getting better."

It's not. The apartment housing newly diagnosed infected people is not far from my own.

New York and New Jersey currently have the highest rates of infection in this country. And the infection rate is climbing.

Vaccinations may help. MAY.

BE AWARE, please.

Btw, the Facebook is so heavily censored that unless you are posting something that most definitely won't offend "Management" in the slightest, don't bother trying.

STR -

You've named this thread, "The Worst I've Seen."

Today, my husband took a number of pictures outside that I consider even much, much worse than the pictures you posted here.

The murderous, moronic jackasses here had the most dangerous, ill-conceived "Easter Egg Hunt" ever staged here. Workers dumped PLASTIC (great for the environment) eggs not on the poor abused Oval this year, but all over the goddamned place, in enclosed areas.

READ: The precious darlings and their jackass parents were ALL OVER the complexes with their potential COVID-19 virus.

BUT WAIT, IT GETS A WHOLE HELLUVA LOT WORSE: Remember the days of Tishman Speyer working overtime to evict tenants, literally causing some SUICIDES? Well, the sick, sick, twisted bastards of Blackstone came up with an inspired idea: FILL THE COMMUNITY CENTER, PRIMARILY VISITED BY OLDER FOLK (those of us who are rent-stabilized, in other words) WITH HOARDS OF ADULTS AND CHIDLREN FOR HOURS TODAY TO MAKE SURE AS MUCH COVID-19 VIRUS LOAD CAN BE BROUGHT INTO THE SPACE WHERE SENIORS CONGREGATE!

I quote the advertisement

"Easter Egg Hunt
Sun Apr 4; 10:00am

For a social-distanced version this year, hunt down the Easter Eggs all across the community! Grab the first 24 eggs you find and redeem these eggs at the Community Center for a Chocolate Treat or Easter Goody Bag. Complimentary; for residents-only."

THERE WAS NO SOCIAL DISTANCING. IT WAS CROWDED AND CRAMPED OUTSIDE THE COMMUNITY CENTER WITH SO-CALLED PARENTS ENDANGERING EVERY SINGLE HUMAN BEING WITH THEIR BEHAVIORS. THE CREATOR ONLY KNOWS WHAT THE INSIDE OF THE COMMUNITY CENTER LOOKED LIKE.

WHAT THE HELL WAS THE POINT OF THIS COVID-19 PARTY EXCEPT TO ENCOURAGE THE WORST POSSIBLE BEHAVIOR AND MAKE SURE ANY HUNGRY COVID-19 GERMS COULD FIND THEIR WAY INTO SENIOR LUNGS???

Anonymous said...

@10:24 PM: I have long accepted the well-evidenced fact that there is no intelligence or thought or caring that goes into the planning of any events (or anything else) when it comes to Blackstone employees. The parents of those kids should have had more sense. They'll have to live with themselves if their kids come down with Covid and die or are damaged for life. As for the seniors, I think they probably don't go near that "Community Center" these days.

Anonymous said...

I see the new boss is leaving. They are getting another guy for the "hospitality" industry. Don't they have anybody who knows how to run a huge RESIDENTIAL complex?
I get the impression that the people who work for Blackstone are not the sharpest knives in the drawer.

Speaking of failures, is anybody actually running the TA Facebook? They hardly ever update it and by the time they do, the news they put out is stale. They have imposed so many restrictions on what members can and cannot discuss that it is just about as near-dead as the TA itself is.

Anonymous said...

Seems we are getting a new general manager already. Mr. Burke has only been here a few months and has had it with us! I really don't think it fair on both the managers and the tenants that Blackstone always hires from the "hospitality" field instead of the residential field. There is a big difference in being the manager of a hotel or resort and being the manager of a huge, multi-building, multi-unit sprawling apartment complex. Who wouldn't be overwhelmed by that?! It is especially difficult to do such a job these days because this is not a stable community. Apart from the challenges brought about by the pandemic, PCVST has been in a state of flux for a long time. People have moved out in droves because of the pandemic; more transients and students seem to have moved in, though not as many as before. The demographics of the complex is hugely diverse and bring different needs. The elderly need (and crave) stability and a peaceful place to call home; the students want to party. Nothing wrong with either, except that the students are in a place that always was a residential complex and never a dorm until recent years and there is bound to be some conflict of interests there.
People move in here because the grounds are beautiful and child-friendly and safe. Well, not so much now. The grounds are splattered with dog muck, dogs of leashes (very many of them belonging to people who don't live here) and anybody is allowed to use the grounds for whatever purpose - whether walking dogs, speeding around on skate boards, bicycles (many electrified) and scooters. Public Safety doesn't stop them.
The surrounding neighborhoods have become dirty and dangerous (reminiscent of the 70s and 80s) and this is off-putting to prospective tenants.

All of this is not helping to get people to come live here and make it their home. It's more of an "Extended Stay" set up at best.

I think tenants (old and new; longtime and transients) get confused and frustrated by the instability of the place. We just got a law passed decreeing stable rents, but the landlord is fighting tooth and nail to get it abolished! Apart from putting a strain on tenants and creating a feeling instability and reluctance to put down roots here, it must be a big strain on the top man running the place.

Years ago, before we were sold by MetLife to the most abominable and despicable landlord on the planet (Tishman Speyer) PCVST was a stable, pleasant rental that hummed along nicely. The rules were the rules; crime was low; noise and filth was not allowed and offenders were taken to task - in extreme cases they were evicted. These days it is sort of a free-for-all. A hotchpotch of all different demos with different ideas of what living space should be and most of them not planning or caring to live here for very long. Maybe all this is too much for one man. Especially if that man has been used to successfully running a successful resort where the needs and expectations are very different from here and nobody, except the staff, are planning on staying long. '

The "brains" at Blackstone don't seem to be able to grasp any of that concept.

Time for a new property manager!

The TA is still posting voting instructions on its fb and there is not one mention of the fact that the last Boss has resigned and is being replaced. I miss the TA fb page when it was alive. Maybe some people were quarrelsome, but they soon got turfed off, but there was lively discussion. It seems the Ta fb has gone the way of the TA. It's gone off to join the TA in the Dinosaur Boneyard.
