Our landlord, BLACKSTONE, can't handle Stuy Town and Peter Cooper Village. There is a lack of enforcement of certain "rules," and no amount of notice to this alleviates the problems. We are continually being told half-truths and fabrications. And we have no viable Tenants organization, despite our TA asking for dues all the time. So far, the politicians have proven to be basically useless. A typical New York story.

And Now for Something Completely Different....
Though the Oval lawn remains a disaster (and will probably continue to do so throughout the year), the flowers around the Oval provide a charming respite from the city and speak to what has been the best of Stuyvesant Town in years past and what continues to make residents feel that they are in an oasis in the middle of Manhattan.
Happy Fourth of July!
Who are you and what have you done with the Stuy Town Reporter?
ReplyDeleteDamm flowers ! Ever since they put these things in I've been sneezing and coughing all year long !!!
ReplyDeleteLOL........
Nick did it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a "glorious bloom"!
ReplyDeleteOh yes! A glorious bloom decorating the glorious swamp! An oasis!

ReplyDeleteWell, if you decide to take a look today at the flowers on the northwest section of the Oval, watch out for the dog crap someone didn't pick up on the walkway nearby. This is almost in the same area I photographed with a similar problem not long ago, close by the guard booth. I don't know if it's just one dog owner or more (I suspect the latter), but this unwillingness to pick up after one's dog--and along the Oval walkway--is getting to be a standard now. I don't understand the mentality here.
ReplyDeleteThe mentality you don't understand is the same mentality that makes one's "neighbors" come in a 2Am and clop around the bedroom waking people up.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this respite from the constant litany of complaints: it's nice to see you acknowledge for once that there are some nice landscape features here in our oasis. Happy 4th to you, as well
