Holiday Best Wishes from that Old Gang of Ours

Aside from mailings from Guterman and the TA, Stuy Town and Peter Cooper residents should be getting this card in the mail this week:

  1. Got mine today.

    It's a "scratch-n-sniff."

I'd rather not tell you what it smells like...

  2. The Unholy Trinity: Ruthlessness, Avarice and Stupidity.

  3. The trifecta of evil. A pox on all of their ancestors. By way, Anony 9.44 PM, brilliant. Very John Waters of you.

  4. Major DB alert today-Santacon is today. The Frat boys and the OMG girls have started to drink already.

  5. That card is brilliant, STR! You're very good at being baaad! I like that in a person!

  6. Call security re; frat boys and OMG GIRLS ASAP. and tell them you can't pay rent under these conditions.

Same here. OUr hallways smell like a bathroom with smoke and beer added to the mix.

    Disgusting filthy place.

  7. Is that what all those kids in Santa costumes was about? Some of them seemed to be very well behaved and just enjoying themselves harmlessly, but others just reeked of booze and were definitely the worse for wear.

  8. There's a special place in Hell for those three sleazeballs. They have done such monumental harm to New York City and to the lives of innocent people. If there was such a thing as a gallery of War Criminals of Greed, they would be right up there.

  9. Having just been woken up by a bunch of drunken frats and skanks, I am wondering why NYU, et al can't provide us with campus security? Our security team are obviously not up to the job and why should they be? They need to look out for crime and shouldn't have to babysit these assholes who call this place dorm.
Buy into this unpoliced off-campus dorm? Not a fucking chance. We should get a rent reduction for having to put up with this.

  10. Hey, sorry I'm off topic here for a second but does anyone know what happened to stuytownluxliving? The site and facebook are not up anymore. ??

  11. Lux decided to move on. Not much more information than that. Here's hoping that he will be back.

  12. Totally agree on the security FROM NYU. Let them pay for their drunken students who should be housed in A COLLEGE DORM and not with families and seniors.

And while we're at it, porters paid for by nyu to clean up after the damn fools.

There is a number to report all this to NYU, does any one want to post it?

  13. Wow... just found out what happened with StuyTownLuxLiving ... that really blows, wish he hadn't given up like that, completely removed the FB page and his original websites are gone too , should have left it open or given the reins to another
Maybe there was a threatened lawsuit?

  14. I wish Lux would have kept "Lux Living", "Living" and the Facebook pages at least accessible. They are worth keeping accessible for the historical record.

Last month I tried going to Lux Living to print out the threads about the vacating tenants who left their apartment SPOTLESS AND WELL ABOVE THE STANDARD REQUIRED UNDER THE LEASE -- yet Rose seized their security deposit and billed them hundreds of dollars more for supposedly leaving their apartment below the standard required -- but I unfortunately discovered that Lux shut down the site completely. I think the threads were very good evidence to justify any vacating tenant's decision to not pay his or her last month's rent.

I'm sure there's a lot more to it than we are being told. I hope he comes back.

  16. I think STR knows more than he is telling about the sudden closedown of Lux Living. I hope he comes back though. He is way too professional to just abruptly disappear like that.

  17. Yeah.... its odd that ALL of it just went poof... I leave my computer on for days at a time and went to refresh the Lux FB page when i discovered what had happened [bounced back to home page]...
Maybe Lux got tired of Lo Rent & his ancient chinese secret... LoL
On a good note and response to Tom's security deposit inquiry I got mine 3 days ago [9 weeks after moving] and the full sec deposit of $1489... my 11 year journey as one of the last people from "The List" is finally over, just got sick of the place and downsized to a smaller brownstone apt.

  18. I was told that the guy had enough. While some were grateful for his hard work, many others attacked him. Why would he put up with that? Isn't he allowed to have a life, too? It was a full-time for no compensation.

  19. Yeah it sucks that he had enough... maybe someone else might pick up the reins or create a Yahoo group to use as a place to post pics of Stuy/PCV and just discuss the place in general...
I wonder if he settled his elevator accident suit and part of it was the dissolution of these websites...

  20. LibShark, that is probably what did happen. They paid him to go away as part of the settlement for the lawsuit. I miss him. I wish him well, but I wish he would come back in some shape or form because he really had a great site. The fact that he made no announcement and closed down so abruptly speaks volumes.
