The Enemy - Part 1

It will become apparent who I am talking about soon.

  1. STR, you just put me off my turkey by showing those two ugly mugs! There should be a law against such ugly people leaving the house with their faces exposed!

Cuomo is indeed the enemy. He is a conniving thug and I wouldn't vote for him if he was running for dog catcher. He and Speyer are both the enemies, but at least Speyer doesn't pretend not to be.

  2. We need Preet to prosecute the REBNY Albany cesspool.

  3. Bought and paid for every election. Tishman Speyer REBNY Cuomo

They control Albany, Skelos, Cuomo, write the language for the laws passed by the pols, control taxes on themselves and rents they take from us.

Come on Preet, where are you on the REBNY MORELAND work?

New York City developer Jerry Speyer andcuomo infographic
construction giant Daniel Tishman, whose company has built many of the city’s most important projects, were the two leading individual contributors to Governor-elect Andrew Cuomo’s campaign, donating a combined $187,400. Mr. Speyer chipped in $100,000 and Mr. Tishman gave $87,400, according to analysis by The Buffalo News. (Messrs. Tishman and Speyer, interestingly enough, were once related through marriage–Mr. Speyer founded Tishman Speyer with Mr. Tishman’s grand-uncle, while married to that grand-uncle’s daughter before getting divorced. Got it?)

“They assume Cuomo’s going to win, so they fork over money in the hopes that when they make a phone call, someone will answer it,” Blair Horner of the New York Public Interest Research Group told the Buffalo newspaper.

Today The Observer ran an infographic breaking down all the contributions to Mr. Cuomo’s campaign (at right, detail below). This week we also talked with REBNY president Steven Spinola, who runs the city’s largest real estate trade group, about the industry’s relationship with Mr. Cuomo. “He has said fairly directly that New York City can’t afford any tax increases … What I think he needs to be able to continue that effort is a louder voice from the business community to say, ‘We agree,'” Mr. Spinola said.

Not "in the hopes"--so that that they know for sure someone will not only answer the call but bend over for them.

When will people wake up and realize that the real election in a state heavily weighted toward one party is the primary, not the general election.

  5. Astorino is the guy on the GOP side that Cuomo was terrified to run against? I could absolutely believe this story except for that part.

What we do know for a fact is that Cuomo did little to nothing to help his Party take the the State Senate majority. My feeling is that he probably prefers things as they are with Skelos in charge.

The Working Families party is 100% right. Until Campaign Finance Reform happens, Albany remains for sale.

  6. Tishman Speyer, Fortress, Brookfield all cut from same cloth.

The ONLY way to protect our homes and property is a la Penn South Co-Op.

Everything else, every conversion plan and condo plan puts greed and profit above all as we have seen here with increased commercialization and massive decrease in thousands of middle class people and families since 2010 all in the pursuit of "luxury" condo plan profits.

Shame we've no one who puts people over profit and supports the middle class community here that lived in peace for 50 years and worked hard in and for NYC businesses while raising families here.

Is there no one in a government position who understands the middle class and supports our needs to keep our homes and communities and is not part of this duo alliance in the photo who has caused havoc on NYC middle class homes for years?

  7. Agree entirely with 11:38 am.

  8. Agree 5:25 and

Brookfield knows how to run office buildings and property operations of businesses -- and knows NOTHING about residential buildings and how to oversee property operations for homes which have completely different priorities and goals.

Fortress has a long resume of knowing how to do two things 1. manage their money portfolio and 2. bankrupt projects and cities and knows nothing about managing a property of homes - also as evident by the lost middle class homes, increased transient student dorms, and cheesy businesses replacing the park space.

No one vying to purchase knows anything about running a property of homes (as MetLife did for 5 decades).

Neither Brookfield, Fortress, nor the TA are qualified to run this property.

Both will employ same management personnel that has destroyed people's lives and the park.

And no one on the TA board has the qualifications to run this property or make decisions about this property as evident by the decisions they have made since the foreclosure. The results say it all - thousands fewer middle class residents, middle class homes, and large proportions of park space lost forever.

Nice huge office building on first ave TA (sarcastic). Its bigger than you said it would be at your "meeting".

  10. Me too. Entirely agree with 11:38. There is no alternative.

  11. Is Rob Speyer still hosting those underground donkey shows? Or was it goats?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Why does Rob Speyer always look like he just wiped dribble on his malformed chin and always seem to be in a jacket at least 2 sizes too small for him?

But, the main thing is: why is Cuomo practically kissing Speyer? Are they bottom buddies or does Cuomo owe Speyer something and is a little bit nervous? There is something very abnormal and maybe even pathological about those two and their "pose."

  13. At the mayoral candiate forum at PS 104 last year (the one where Anthony Weiner showed up in orange pants and made a bad joke about just coming from Greenwich Village for a gay marriage rally, thus the pants) John Liu spoke about a Penn South type buyout plan for ST/PVC.

Liu's idea was a City/State/Federal fund to be assembled to help with the buyout, then a conversion to an affordabe coop like a Mitchel-Lama or Penn South. Bill DeBlasio was standng right there, he is aware of this kind of idea, so was Dan Garodnick.

So why is noone pursuing this path now?

  14. Stuy and Pcv have changed so much. Without a doubt it has the distinct feel of a dorm and even the playgrounds seem to be full of NON residents these days. What a pity.

    What's in it for Brookfield?

Any proposal that does not deliver multiple billion dollar windfalls to Brookfield will never be considered.

Damn right! Devious Dan and his handlers at Brookfield and Paul Weiss would never allow that to happen!

  18. This photograph serves one very useful medicinal purpose: Whenever I am constipated, I just look at that photograph and then have to run to the bathroom. It is more effective than ExLax!

  19. Anyone who thinks we are in better hands under a Brookfield Garodnick Steinberg Marsh regime is being fooled.
