Our landlord, BLACKSTONE, can't handle Stuy Town and Peter Cooper Village. There is a lack of enforcement of certain "rules," and no amount of notice to this alleviates the problems. We are continually being told half-truths and fabrications. And we have no viable Tenants organization, despite our TA asking for dues all the time. So far, the politicians have proven to be basically useless. A typical New York story.

Dan Gardonick and the One Vanderbilt Office Mega Tower: You Scratch My Back and I'll Scratch Yours
No wonder our "homeboy" Dan spent good money (taxpayers' money?) on that recent glossy mammoth newsletter touting One Vanderbilt!
The business of politics right before your eyes:
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-05-05/sl-green-midtown-skyscraper-gets-nyc-councilman-s-endorsement
From the above article, dated 5/5/2015, emphasis mine:
>>SL Green Realty Corp. reached an agreement with New York City Councilman Dan Garodnick and other officials that the company expects will allow it to build a skyscraper near Grand Central Terminal in midtown Manhattan.
Garodnick said he supports the real estate investment trust’s proposal for 1 Vanderbilt, a 1.6 million-square-foot (149,000-square-meter) tower on Vanderbilt Avenue, and zoning changes to the area that would be needed. As part of the project, SL Green plans to invest $220 million for transit upgrades near Grand Central. With approval of the full City Council, the tower could be completed by 2020, SL Green Chief Executive Officer Marc Holliday said.
“We have struck a much better deal for the public, and we will start seeing real benefits to Grand Central in the near term, even before a single new building is occupied,” Garodnick said at a news conference Tuesday.
The councilman, whose district includes the 1 Vanderbilt site just west of the transit hub, said the agreement sets the stage for a wider rezoning of east Midtown that would permit taller towers in the area.<<

From the above article, titled "SL Green Gets Ready to Change East Midtown Forever," dated 5/27/2015, emphasis mine::
>>“The area has gotten stuck in outdated rules, and has lost some of its competitiveness over time,” added Garodnick. “That is going to change today, starting with the Vanderbilt Corridor – where we will open the door to additional density in exchange for much needed improvements to our transit system.<<

Any business run like this should be shut down.
ReplyDeleteDan fits in with the "Three Men in a Room" Albany.
Those days are ending pal.
Did you see all the lawyers at Paul Weiss who give to Dan too?
True corruption with a wink and a nod.
ReplyDeleteWhat a vile little man!
>>Did you see all the lawyers at Paul Weiss who give to Dan too?<<
ReplyDeleteProbably everybody at the firm!
Was a time when I thought he was such a nice boy. I even voted for him first time around. Never again!
ReplyDeleteI find it fascinating, though highly distasteful, that "Density" is now becoming the new mantra among certain of our NYC politicians as a PLUS. Yes, making things more dense in New York, particularly mid-town Manhattan, is a splendid idea! In trade we'll get a couple of extra access points to a subway or a mini-sitting area with a waterfall. Midtown Manhattan is one of the most, if not the most dense place in the city (aside from the Wall Street area). To promote more density in this area is insane, but if Big Real Estate wants it, Dan is going to be in favor.
ReplyDeleteSTR, dollar-worshipping Dan and his pals like density because it means density of dollars for them. QOL for the people is not even a consideration. Even Robert Moses (who Dollar Dan is not!) planned for the wellbeing of the populace. This little twerp has come too far too fast and he is up to his neck in corruption. I hope his downfall comes soon before he can do more damage.
ReplyDelete"Density" is now becoming the new mantra among certain of our NYC politicians
ReplyDeleteIt's about REBNY-owned politicians giving their masters everything they want, then modifying building codes and zoning legislation giving REBNY more than what's currently legal in exchange for a shit turd the corrupt politicians claim is a huge, hard fought victory benefitting 99%. In truth, 99% will derive no benefit and public QOL will decline.
During construction extremely grateful, extremely generous REBNY developers continue showering money on their political lapdogs. Subsequently, REBNY concludes the subway access point is unfeasible and blocks public access to the private, gated mini-park.
PCVST residents "and their guests"
There is a reason for the saying "packed like Grand Central Station"
ReplyDeleteThe area is iconic for already being dense. So dense it is synonymous with chaos. One would have to be dense to make midtown anymore dense.
correction
ReplyDeleteOne would have to be dense and money hungry.
Another scam. "In the name of the people" the rich get richer, the rich get laws, the rich get rezoning, the politicians run articles about themselves doing good deeds for the public and their political clubbies promote each other retweeting one another's pr articles. Same corporate scam like GE saying we bring good things to life while they really pollute the world while having pr departments promote the .00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% they give in philanthropic efforts as if philanthropy is 99% of their business and not .00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001%.
ReplyDeleteRuining Manhattan. It's almost horrible to live here now. Ruining it, piece by piece. Yeah.us.
ReplyDeleteCuomo and his hedge fund backers are slamming De Blasio in the press. Must mean De Blasio is doing right by the people and that is making the hedgies cry like they got wedgies.
ReplyDeleteDe Blasio Sucks!! He's bringing NYC back to the 1970's. He's gotta go!!!!
ReplyDeleteGARODNICKED AGAIN!!
ReplyDeleteSometimes DeB brings it on himself! He is very arrogant and has a tendency to brush off the Press at quite the wrong moments! I support him (most of the time), but I wish he would get over himself!
ReplyDeleteBloomberg was a whiney weasel, but he was the bestest best friend of the REBNY and hedge funds, so he could get away with anything as far as they were concerned. DeB needs to get a bit more savvy about the kind of evil enemies has in City Hall and the State House.
I think the downfall of de Blasio is kinda tragic considering what he promised (to ST/PCV also), but he brought it on himself, at least partially. Too much hubris. Not that hubris isn't the fault of other politicians, but they can get away with it, de Basio can't. He's been in the cross-hairs since he was elected. And what's with his ignoring quality of life issues? Will be interesting to see which politician will challenge him. My betting is on Stringer. Garodnick may wait a bit, but may also test the waters. He'll certainly have the support of the REBNY.
ReplyDeleteAnd de Basio and the City Council better not get rid of those painted naked ladies at Times Square before STR can do a photo pictorial. They will get rid of these ladies, but allow vagrants pissing and defecting all over the city.
Stringer may challenge him and is backed by REBNY and Cuomo but let's face it, Stringer would be 1000 times worse than De Blasio. Stringer whines, points blame, does these ridiculous audits and reports while offering no real ideas or solutions,... we need a Mayor with solutions and actions for the people. Stringer is a whiner and will only do for the REBNY. Stringer and Garodnick are Cuomo wannabes who do whatever Cuomo tells them to do. The deal Stringer and Garodnick pulled with he third term is exactly what NYC can expect from them in office, shenanigans and rule breaking to serve their REBNY master and their coffers.
ReplyDeleteWe will vote for ANYONE BUT STRINGER.
The naked ladies belong in the strip clubs, not on the streets.
ReplyDeleteNever mind the vagrants, how about they get rid of the college kids who are urinating, pooping and puking all over the place, especially around the East Village?
ReplyDeleteRepublicans tell it like it is, straight to your face, they are probusiness, prorebny, buy politicians (thank you Mr Trump for being the only honest one on that).
ReplyDeleteDemocrats and these, the worse of the worse, lowest of the lowest, lie to their constituents while doing everything the same as Republicans.
After what happened to the PCVST community how could Garodnick run for any other office? He not only failed his constituents, he fleeced them for the REBNY.
Stringer is a back office worker, not front office material. He has family with long standing political connections that handed him his career and has capped off. Hookers aside, Spitzer would be have been much better than Stringer.
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/cuomo-pushes-minimum-wage-hike-fast-food-workers-article-1.2214372
ReplyDeleteCuomo Stringer hug and Cuomo backing Garodnick for Speaker smacks of you-know-what. In cahoots to use their political offices for business dealings in exchange for money. There is a ton of back scratching with these three.
It was sad when De Blasio's tragic downfall happened. We all had such high hopes, he made so many promises and kept none. I guess I agree STR he did it to himself but we are in for another Bloomberg in 2017. Just please don't wish Stringer on NYC!!!!!!!! That would be disastrous!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know anything about the "historic Tenant Protection Act" Dan brags about when his constituents are the most unprotected in the entire city? Historic? What a schuyster.
ReplyDeleteHAHA I have to laugh when politicians describe their work as "historic"
ReplyDeleteIf it is historic let history say so
If the politician has to say so
Then it ain't so
Please post another blog. Anything to get him off the top post.
ReplyDeleteIs that sleazy-looking old man the brother of Mark Green, former Public Advocate? He always seemed like a decent kind. I think I voted for him once, many moons ago.
ReplyDeleteYeah, they are brothers.
ReplyDeleteJust like the Donald says. I pay and they do what I say.
ReplyDeleteUnrelated. The flagstones in front of 370 First Ave were just power washed. Memo to Compass Rock...even power washing doesn't get rid of dog piss and shit stains on flagstone. The front now looks even more hideous than it did before.
ReplyDeleteThis building is a mistake.
ReplyDeleteThis Yelp says it all
ReplyDeleteI considered living at Stuytown back in 2013 The apts were spacious and modern (one star), but we had just started looking. The sales people suggested I put down a deposit to hold an apt I was somewhat interested (or something like that) as well as an application fee -- neither of which would be cashed if I chose not to go with Stuytown.
I ultimately didn't go with Stuytown. I assumed they would rip up the checks. That's not what happened, they cashed the checks the other day -- MORE THAN TWO YEARS AFTER (yes, the checks were dated).
Luckily, BOA rejected the checks because I caught it within two days of being deposited. Beware.
7:41 pm - what a bunch of scavenging bottom-feeding SCUM they are!
ReplyDeleteDan ruined PCVST
ReplyDeleteThe 63 story tower will ruin Grand Central
Compass Rock lost our checks and demanded we pay twice.
ReplyDelete"Please post another blog. Anything to get him off the top post."
ReplyDeleteDisagree.
Dan is killing PCVST. He cannot be bashed enough until he walks away like Speyer did.
Brookfield owns Dan. Dan owns TA. Garodnick-TA malfeasance is the only reason PCVST residents don't already own/control the entire PCVST complex and their individual homes.
Taking Dan and REBNY predators owning him out of the transaction is the only way to restore PCVST tenants' opportunity to salvage their community. Otherwise, we are trusting predators to do it for us.
Dan and his predatory owners must go. Brookfield, Moelis and Paul Weiss have no legitimate business relationships with PCVST residents.
Dan is PCVST tenants' #1 enemy. He must go. He must take his predatory owners with him. Dan's "tenant led purchase" = REBNY Scam of 21st Century
Students and split up rooms and shit have ruined it here. Even if i were a student, I would not want to live here. CR you are vile and gross.
ReplyDeleteAll in those Rebny photos are on the take. They would kill for an invite to the hottest ticket in town. They would kill a constituent for an invite. Anyone getting in the way of Rebny will have the full force of the political office against them from all at that Gala just for the chance to go up to the kiss the Rebny ring.
ReplyDeleteMight as well vote for Trump. They rule the political offices anyway.
Dam Garodnick is is THE reason PCVST is in bad condition. Don't blame CW or CompassRock. This is Dan's doing, they are part of his plan. Dan is hiding behind them.

The truth about REBNY-owned Cuomo-puppets Stringer Garodnick will be known.
ReplyDeleteAnyone ever contacted the TA about an issue relating to MCI's and received absolutely NO response whatsoever?
ReplyDeleteSince the Bloombergization of NYC, I can go to Times Square and jiggle my bare tits and ass (don't worry, folks, I won't!) and it's ok, but God forbid I should light up a cigarette .......!
ReplyDeleteBring back Giuliani! Please!
The one good thing about Dan is the invention of the term "Garodnicked". I am trying to develop a poster that we can get out around the city wherever he campaigns in the future. It will say something like "Don't let your neighborhood (or NYC) get GARODNICKED" and it will have a pecker with balls for feet and Dan's face as the head. I think this could become a cartoon series on the cartoon Network even.
ReplyDeleteDon't Get Garodnicked NYC!!!!
De Blasio is from Bahstan. Bloomberg was from Bahstan. Bratton is from Bahstan. I am soooooo sick of Bahstan.
ReplyDeleteGo Yankees.... F*@& Bahstan!!!!!
>>Dam Garodnick is is THE reason PCVST is in bad condition. Don't blame CW or CompassRock. This is Dan's doing, they are part of his plan. Dan is hiding behind them.<<
ReplyDeleteGarodnick may be a tool, but he's not even close to being the master carpenter. Would like to be, and that's where he's heading, but the downfall of this community starts with its sale by Met Life.
Just got my rent deposit back. I'm outta here. See ya!
ReplyDeleteI like the Phallic Garodnicked thing. I can see the posters now. Maybe STR should run a contest to get some ideas...LOL
ReplyDeleteYES YES YES. No one talks about who sold us under the big bus! MET LIFE. We'd never be in this shitmess if they'd walked out on us. What happened to the property they 'built' for the middle class and then walked out on it for 5.5 billion.
ReplyDeleteAnyone who brags about Met life is a fucking fool.
Is Compass Rock the same as Compass? If so, Takk group are brokers there and are horrible nasty people.
ReplyDeleteMetLife caused this mess but getting angry with them gets us nowhere. They are not the ones wreaking havoc every day since the sale. Those are the ones to blame for the messes everyday since the sale -- and all in the REBNY photos allowing it and turning blind eyes, deaf ears when it is illegal. They gave us the middle finger.
ReplyDeleteWe will give them the middle finger at election time.
ReplyDeleteCuomo is slamming De Blasio in the press. I think that makes Cuomo look weak. I want De Blasio to be more successful but he is not doing what he should for us. If he starts too, he will have my vote of confidence again.

Everyone one of them.
Not just withhold our votes like last time.
They did not get the message and did not lift a finger to help the PCVST community.
To those in the REBNY photos we life one finger for you.
Use our votes to vote for anyone but them.
Form the PCVST community to you,
We raise our middle finger to the all the incumbants in the REBNY photos.
ReplyDeleteTakk team is Compass. Ugh - nasty nasty.
"Cuomo" is most definetely is the master pulling all the "Stringers" for "Dan" to kick out the community to turn this property over to the REBNY. All are on record supporting Dan and supporting Dan's PCVST plan. "Schneiderman" is likely the one giving cover in the wings so no tenant complaints get addressed as he waits for his turn in the Governor's office. Those four are in the positions to block tenants complaints with city, state housing authorities and cover up contamination construction.
ReplyDeleteThe way I understood it MetLife had no choice but to become a public company due to new/changed regulations. Once they became a public company they had a duty to shareholders and perhaps were even required to sell. Ultimately, the blame falls back on politicians not MetLife management.
ReplyDeleteCuomo is a bully and a very vindictive one at that. Bullies always are weak people underneath the bluster. DeBlasio means well, but he needs some better advisors. He should be very, very wary of that Speaker he appointed because she is a lady with an agenda and he shouldn't trust her. Goradnick and Stringer are slithery snakes. He should watch out for their little alliances and allegiances.
ReplyDelete10 01 am. Met life had no such duty.

EXACTLY RIGHT
PROBABLY THE SAME POLITICIANS GIVING IT AWAY TO THEIR BRIBERS
"Garodnick may be a tool, but he's not even close to being the master carpenter."
ReplyDeleteTA is a tool.
Garodnick is a mechanic.
Cuomo is an enforcer.
Either Brookfield or Fortress will be the REBNY predator reaping multi-billion dollar windfalls owning/driving/exploiting PCVST via rigged transaction. Garodnick's conniving, backstabbing betrayal of his PCVST neighbors/constituents will wittingly deliver everything to his Brookfield master or unwittingly deliver everything to Fortress. Cuomo will run interference maintaining inside tracks for Brookfield and Fortress to ensure an REBNY predator gets everything.
No difference. Same result. Either way, both Garodnick and Cuomo get rewarded so long as an REBNY predator, Brookfield or Fortress, gets 100% of everything and PCVST residents get 100% of nothing.
Having no honest representation, middle class PCVST residents are getting raped again by REBNY predators aided and abetted by elected government officials they own.
Met life was forced to do NOthing What in the world are you talking and about and posting nonsense ???????
ReplyDeleteCuomo is a weak man, you are right 12:27. He can't lead the state so he blames his failures upstate on the downstate legislatures and he (and REBNY) blames and use the upstate legislatures to screw downstate. He is not doing right by anyone in the state. He thinks only of himself and pointing blame away from himself. He is a complete total package of failure.
ReplyDeleteNotice how NOT ONE POSTER filed for overcharges and or reported the results. No one cares here STR.
ReplyDelete10:00 AM. If you read through the threads, you will see that several posters filed for overcharges and reported that they were totally stonewalled.
ReplyDeleteAll insurance companies that were mutual companies were FORCED to become public companies. Each policyholder was given shares. Not sure why anyone would say otherwise.
