  1. We need a coup to oust the corrupt sell outs and save this community from the REBNY.

  2. Dirty Dan would have his dirty law firms undermine a real tenant association from forming here.

  3. Agree we need a new tenant association that is not controlled by Hoylman Kavanagh and Garodnick.

  4. 5:35 your defeatism is infectious.

  5. 9:28 let's all hope 5:35's defeatism is not infectious but take it under advisement. We need a new and real TA but look at how Dan and his TA reacted to Mr Guterman. Anything that threatens Marsh and Dan's agenda to rid of working class in exchange for luxury new stabilizers gets harsh reaction. Will a new TA be enough to stop Dan's agenda? Who is protecting Susan and Marsh's corrupt TA? Cuomo? Hoylman? Schumer? Schneiderman? Surely someone above Garodnick and Stringer, small bit players who throw punches for Cuomo so is Cuomo who we will be up against with a new TA forming? His creepiness crawls to depths of misery with his pal Langone who threatens to make anyone's life hell who opposes him. Litwin and Skelos needed to go, but Cuomo and Langone are worse. What the hell. Let's go for it and make their real estate deal hell with a new TA! Go big or go bust, right!

  6. This community could use a Tenant Association after the 5 years we have been without one. Susan, why don't you split off to become what you really are, a perspective "owners association" representing buyers needs and stop blocking renters needs. Let a second tenant association form that will actively protect tenants renter needs with all the entities you list in your pledge that you have blocked us from? Those entities must start doing their taxpayer paid jobs for the residents in Peter Cooper Village Stuyvesant Town today. You are blocking residents from using city agencies with the promise you would make them do their jobs but instead you are helping them to not address tenant concerns here. Let Peter Cooper Village Stuyvesant Town tenants get their concerns addressed.

  7. We could use a TA that helps us fight against the delays from DHCR. Are there any others willing to go to this with me?

  8. Are Marsh Hoylman or Garodnick connected to them? If they are independent of these three then I am in.

  9. Revoke the pledges.

PCVST residents should flood Fannie/Freddie, Senator Schumer, AG Schneiderman, US Attorney Preet, Mayor de Blasio and TA with messages revoking pledge documents that Garodnick and the TA falsely claim authorized their entering into formal business relationships with predatory Brookfield, Moelis and Paul Weiss. Their scheme confiscates PCVST tenants' exclusive access to Fannie/Freddie billions that should appropriately fund a genuine tenant led purchase delivering genuine tenant led ownerhips/control of PCVST together with individual, middle class affordable home ownership. Garodnick and the TA floated false impressions that Brookfield is the PCVST tenants' partner, Moelis is the PCVST tenants' financial advisor and Paul Weiss is the PCVST tenants' legal advisor. None of those uncorrected misconceptions are true. Garodnick ant the TA have kept PCVST tenants ignorant in the dark for 5 years.

Whether tenants executed pledges or not, they should send messages revoking any and all phony authorizations Garodnick and the TA falsely claim demonstrate tenant support for them diverting and stuffing Fannie/Freddie billions into Brookfield's deep, empty pockets. Garodnick-TA are stabbing their constitents/neighbors in the back with a disgraceful, inappropriate condo conversion that, by design, is calibrated to confiscate any possibility of affordable ownership for 85% of PCVST tenants. Their phony "tenant led purchase" delivers 100% PCVST ownership/control and multiple billion dollar windfalls to Brookfield in exchange for a few worthless promises to do nothing costing Brookfield nothing. In effect, the duped PCVST tenants' exclusive access to Fannie/Freddie purchase funding will bail out Brookfield's wiped out $25 million investment with Speyer. Brookfield gets 100% of everything for $25 million (Speyer invested more than double that amount). PCVST tenants, who are 100% RS holding exclusive access to Fannie/Freddie billions, get nothing. Brookfield realizes Speyer's dream come true.

Send the messages. Revoke the pledges.

  10. I see the unfair and absurdly far reaching press slam on De Blasio too. Makes me see he is standing up for NYC against the Albany machine.
Back to Team De Blasio again.

  11. Tenants & Neighbors has been around for quite a while, and it was one of the constituents of Alliance for Tenant Power, one of the coalitions fighting hard for stronger rent laws this year (the other coalition was Real Rent Reform). Anyone who came to Albany or any of the rallies at Cuomo's office or the RGB would have seen neighborhood groups with their banners and T-shirts. It's not just us who need a strong and effective tenants organization, it's tenants everywhere in the city (and the other counties that have rent stabilization). It's all political--organized groups can be effective in electing the right representatives and pressuring them to vote for laws that favor tenants. Without that pressure--even if candidates take real estate money--elected officials won't do what we need them to do. Tenants need to be as politically savvy as the moneybags who control government officials. Spanish-speaking groups and Chinese-speaking groups turned out during the rent fight this year. It looks like T&N is launching a grassroots effort to organize so Democrats can take back the State Senate in 2016 with a real majority (Jeff Klein and his rogue Democrats be damned). If that happens, we could get this year's weak rent law strengthened even before it expires as well as some other things, such as campaign finance reform so that RE interests don't create endless LLCs that can each give large sums (check out Glenwood and Leonard Litwin).

  12. Worked all night to come home to loud jackhammer-like noise again. Looks like clearing mold from new playground. What is it and was it tested?

  13. We have full time jobs and raise families and now we have to babysit politicians to make sure they do their job working for us and not selling their offices out for bribes, legal and illegal. Well all illegal, as any of it that is legal is because they wrote the law and loophole.

Fine, if we have to get more savvy on politics to kick out a few dirty incumbents and replace them with new ones, then just fine with me. My kid has more integrity than these sorry bunch.

  14. The TA has been relatively ineffective over the past few years. They do not address the illegal hotels, dorm-like apartment takeover, or other quality of life issues in ST. They just keep saying that it is legal and that it cannot be helped. Then they mention conversion. Who would want to buy an apartment here given the transient nature of the community! NYU would buy half of the apartments. I dislike what this community has become, a student/tourist centered dump. At prior meetings the TA leadership dismiss quality of life issues.

  17. Don't believe for one second that Tenants and Neighbors would lift a finger to help form a new TA here in PCVST. I personally reached out to Katie Goldstein years ago (before she was top dog) when she was in charge of recruiting new leadership for Tenant Associations and she never even responded. Her organization has ties with the current (failed) TA and she would have no interest in rattling that cage. Dirty Dan and his fellow elected traitors have their claws in T and N also. No chance of success going through these dirtbags.

  20. Anyone else notice elected officials and organizations as Tenants and Neighbors help everyone else but will not touch Stuyvesant Town Peter Cooper Village residents?

Garodnick has claws in GOLES, Urban Justice and Tenants and Neighbors and a lot more. BEWARE! They will not help anyone here.

PCV ST tenants can not trust these organizations to help residents here. If you attend Tenant and Neighbors forming a TA, expect it to be tattled to Dan so he can stop your efforts.

Dan uses Stabilize NYC to promote himself as against Predatory Equity when he paves the way for predators in his own neighborhood PCV ST.

For a more organizations Dan isolated from PCV ST residents reach:

    http://stabilizingnyc.org/

    http://www.garodnick.com/press-release/coalition-against-predatory-equity-organizing-principles-and-members

None of the organizations and government officials listed will help PCV ST residents; some will even hurt you if you try to start a new TA.

All of these elected officials and organizations support predatory equity in PCV ST.

They are fighting against predatory equity everywhere but here.

Dan sanctioned Predatory Equity in PCV ST and is in overdrive to spin a perception he opposes it.

  25. That instagram page is an embarassment. Did you all see the photos of the phallic shot glasses? The photos of the kids and pets are cute but the drunk bro parties, the two girls alcoholic champagne spilling on the front stoop photo, do not belong where our kids grow up. Dan is kicking out our families for his bug bucks dorm dreams.

  26. Nothing says 'you've arrived' like sitting on the floor of your new Stuy Town micro-dorm. Perhaps the reason she has to have her guests sit on the floor (rather than on chairs) is she blew all of her money on that big S? #Solame
