https://www.dnainfo.com/new-york/20150825/kips-bay/va-hospitals-flood-wall-work-tears-up-part-of-new-kips-bay-playground
The VA is constructing a flood wall next to the new Asser Levy "park" that was finished about 8 months ago and infringing on that space. The flood wall is being obviously constructed to protect the VA hospital, which suffered a lot of damage during Hurricane Sandy. Many veterans use the hospital, particularly the ones with financial hardships. In the aftermath of Sandy they could not use the hospital's services for months and months. These are people who served their country and who currently find themselves without much money and in need of help for physical and/or mental issues. So they are frequently poor and frequently minority.
Our "progressive" councilman, Dan Garodnick, who loves his mini-parks by the way, is upset at the VA, and is quoted as saying:
“If the VA had built the flood wall during the time Parks was constructing the playground, we would have avoided this. The VA now has an obligation to put the park back in the precise condition they found it in, and we are counting on that.”
Nice hard-line words, Dan. Go get 'em.
The reality is that the VA will do what it can to replace what's been lost. But the reality is also that few people have been using what was lost, and most of the "park," which doubles as an exercise area, is still available for use.
Also, this is complete bullshit:
"Steinberg [the person in the article complaining about the intrusion of the flood wall] enjoyed the convenience of using the fitness equipment at Asser Levy, which is just three blocks from his house, but now must head more than a mile away to East River Park if he wants to work out on city recreation equipment, he said."
Well, Steinberg should be alerted that the Asser Levy gym is still operational; the construction of the VA hospital flood wall has no impact on the gym, just on the meager "equipment" that was part of the park. So he doesn't have to burden himself by seeking another workout area "more than a mile away." And he surely must know this, but perhaps doesn't want to use the facilities at the gym. (I'm not going to press further on why that may be because I don't want to embarrass Mr. Steinberg; let's just say the "clientele" at the Asser Levy gym may not be to his liking.)
So guys, back off from bitching about the VA and its necessary construction of a flood wall to protect a hospital that generally low-income vets use.
And Dan, tell me, has a flood wall been built yet to protect Peter Cooper Village and Stuyvesant Town? Or, despite your bitching about the VA's timeline, is the VA ahead of the game, while PCV/ST is not?
-----
UPDATE:
If I could laugh at this issue, I would. This is one of the pieces of serious "fitness equipment" at Dan's park:
I was under the impression that the East Side Coastal ResilIency Project would have this covered. Belt and Suspenders?
ReplyDeleteI was also under the impression that the VA was looking to sell the property and relocate someplace more accessible, since the area long known as Bedpan Alley has now become a "hot new residential neighborhood", per the sleazebag vampire, er... RE brokers.
A friend of mine who is a retired Marine depends heavily on this VA for medical treatment for life-threatening illnesses. During the period after Sandy, when the VA was closed, he had to travel to Brooklyn for treatment and, because of pain and fragility, sometimes couldn't get there. I don't remember Dan doing a thing to help the VA patients when the hospital was closed due to flooding. One thing we know for sure, Dan won't ever be a patient at this or any other VA hospital. Can anyone imagine him in the military? LOL!
ReplyDeleteHa! I wonder if this Mr. Steinberg ever served his country? Doubt it. He'd be whistling a different tune if he had.
ReplyDelete>>I was also under the impression that the VA was looking to sell the property and relocate someplace more accessible, since the area long known as Bedpan Alley has now become a "hot new residential neighborhood", per the sleazebag vampire, er... RE brokers.<<
ReplyDeleteThere's been "talk" of the VA moving and precisely because that block-long area is a desirable property. The medical wing of NYU was also interested if I remember correctly.
Wait for it, In ten years it will be all NYU, us and the VA. Clearly you all are aware this is happening now aren't you?
ReplyDelete"The project cost $2.3 million, with $1.17 million of that coming from City Councilman Daniel Garodnick..."
ReplyDeleteI seriously doubt this is Garodnick's personal money, but that's exactly as it was written. Where DID this money come from? Pretty sure taxpayer pockets.
It's very telling that Garodnick and the media both perceive taxpayer funds as belonging to individual politicians. Scum, all of them.
No matter what the ownership status, the area from 23rd to 14th was among the worst hit by Sandy in Manhattan. I assume something has been done to protect Con Ed. What about the rest?
ReplyDelete>>I seriously doubt this is Garodnick's personal money, but that's exactly as it was written. Where DID this money come from? Pretty sure taxpayer pockets.<<
ReplyDeleteIt also could have come from his "war chest," all the money (over a million, I believe) that he received as donations for his campaign. I wonder where that money is or how it was disposed of, if it was disposed?
Would it even be legal for him to give donations tendered for his campaign to any other project? I doubt it.
ReplyDeletePretty dismal reporting on this story. I really can't get over that quotation. That journalist should be ashamed of themselves.
ReplyDeleteAnother shining example of Dan Garodnick favoring and financing billionaire NYU but this time instead of misuse of his office to bully working class neighbors he is bullying veterans.
http://www.nyunews.com/2012/10/11/park/
https://www.google.com/search?q=gramercy+green+nyu&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8
NYU adjunct professor of planning Sarah M. Kaufman said the conversion will enhance the use of public space within East Side neighborhoods.
“I think that the east Midtown area is really lacking for outdoor space,” Kaufman said. “[The conversion] is a great way to get people out of their houses, exercising and enjoying the city.”
Ashley Syed, a Tisch sophomore and (NYU) Gramercy Green resident, agreed with Kaufman and expressed an interest in visiting the park for exercise.
And a la Quinn-style the public had no voice in the NYU outdoor Asser Levy fitness area. Sepersky was the only decent member of Community board 6 who refrained from voting.
"At last night’s meeting, only one board member Lou Sepersky abstained from voting. The rest of the members voted in favor of the park.
Sepersky choose to neither support nor op- pose the proposal because of the lack of a pub- lic voice at the last meeting when the proposal was first brought up.
“The matter was not on the agenda of the committee. The public had no chance to address the issue,” he said. “Therefore, it has to be reverted back to proper presentation to the committee.”
That is Concerned and Serious Dan pretending he's going into battle mode when no battle exists.
ReplyDeleteThe CB6 Chairperson's more reasonable statement from same article acknowledges that protecting a VA Hospital from future disasters takes priority over a whining, inconvenienced PCVST resident (and Dan).
"The timing was less than ideal, but the construction flood wall took precedence, according to Sandro Sherrod, chair of Community Board 6. “We were kinda given heads up that they needed to do this well into construction of the park,” said Sherrod. “It’s certainly inconvenient, but unfortunately that’s the way it ended up working out.”
Dan puts on his usual show criticizing the VA for not accommodating his toy park. Maybe he should have consulted with the VA before park construction commenced asking if the hospital planned upcoming projects in the vicinity so both could be coordinated to take place simultaneously.
Sorry Dan, protecting a VA hospital will always take priority over your shiny new toy.
Awhile back the VA floated a rumor their 23rd St hospital would close and be sold. REBNY developers were licking their chops speculating condos. There was an uproar from outpatient vets requiring public transportation until Schumer saved it, but for how long is unknown.
"It also could have come from his "war chest," all the money (over a million, I believe) that he received as donations for his campaign. I wonder where that money is or how it was disposed of, if it was disposed?"
ReplyDeleteDan may need that war chest to pay defense attorneys when Preet comes sniffing around his stage managed scandal going down at PCVST. Or maybe Paul Weiss will defend him for free without billing his PCVST tenant-victims?
Let the VA hospital use their budget for medical care for our veterans. Have NYU fix their own damn fitness park and have NYU pay us back for the costs to install NYSTATE college security system in Peter Cooper Stuytown. Dan's welfare subsidies for NYU are downright criminal!
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteNoise issue with kids where we are. Real kids. Can someone advise me , do i call Donalda or whom? I'm not going to pay excessive rent to be annoyed all day and night with banging. I've called Security and they know. I NOW WANT MANAGEMENT INVOLVED AND /or my lawyer.
Dan Garodnick is unbelievable! His cold crass comments are despicable!
ReplyDeleteThe flood wall is more important than his recreation park. The park construction should have waited until the VA hospital was ready to build the wall!!!!!!!! And not the other way around.
City council should pay for the restoring of the recreation park due to their own poor planning! I like the recreation park but I do not think the VA should shoulder the costs of the city's poor priority to make their promised deadline that should have been extended to accommodate the VA floodwall. Better to move the city deadline on a park then to take money from veterans. How low will this guy sink?
A member of the New York City council showing angry contempt to an institution that gives veterans medical care, over a playground fight.
ReplyDeleteTHE REASON WE HAVE PUBLIC PARK SPACES IS BECAUSE VETERANS FOUGHT FOR US TO HAVE THESE THINGS. VETERANS MADE SACRIFICES.
ReplyDeleteNYC CITY COUNCIL SHOULD PAY FOR THEIR DECISION TO MAKE A DEADLINE DESPITE THE VA TELLING THEM TO HOLD OFF UNTIL THE FLOOD WALL WAS BUILT. NYC SHOULD THANK VETERANS - NOT CHARGE THEM FOR NYC MISTAKES.
AGAIN DAN IS 100% WRONG.
When Stuyvesant Town was sold for an insane amount, sure the VA would listen to any insane off if it was offered. I bring someone to the VA at 23rd street on a regular basis, takes pride in being a veteran and the dignity they show him. When it was closed for Sandy related repairs our option was Brooklyn, not very feasible. To even consider turning your backs on the Vets is probably the lowest Garodnick can go. You want a cause Danny? Clean up Stuyvesant Cove park, more of your constituents use this than your concrete ping pong tables.
ReplyDeleteAs a veteran, I use this VA hospital when needed. You don't know how sad I get when I see some of the vets there, either handicapped or, more frequently, at the point of near poverty or with low spirits and sometimes mental issues like depression or anxiety. Fuck Dan's playground.
ReplyDeleteAll these pols knew they were screwing around with the VA hospital's flood wall timing
ReplyDeletehttp://town-village.com/2015/02/06/ribbon-cut-at-newly-expanded-asser-levy-playground/
A lot of these vets are also older, so their prospects for the future are limited and they need the care and attention and medication that a VA hospital in Manhattan can provide. If another Sandy hits us, where will these vets go? Yes, all the way to Brooklyn, and far out in Brooklyn. Not good.
ReplyDeleteSo a guy who lives in the neighborhood and probably pays over $4K for his air-conditioned apartment is inconvenienced because some fitness bars are missing in the mini-park. He still can use the Asser Levy gym facilities a few steps away. And Dan is pissed because one of his mini-parks has been marred, temporarily. Sorry, the vets come first, guys.
It was not Dan's money that he gave it was taxpayer dollars. Of course Dan makes himself out to be a hero giving taxpayer dollars at the same time he is disrespecting and slighting real true heros at the VA hospital. So angry about this.
ReplyDeleteDan knew about the VA flood wall at least back in January 2015!!!

4 45 ! NOOO it can't be just this. Re read his complaint.
ReplyDeleteHere's the info on Steinberg:
ReplyDelete>>“It was only available for five or six months at the most, and then it was gone,” Steinberg said. “The timing seemed very odd.”
Steinberg enjoyed the convenience of using the fitness equipment at Asser Levy, which is just three blocks from his house, but now must head more than a mile away to East River Park if he wants to work out on city recreation equipment, he said.<<
Poor Baby! What if he'd been in a war and couldn't even travel five feet from his house!
DeleteAGAIN: The Asser Levy gym is available a few steps away from Dan's park. It is a city gym, so Mr. Steinberg can use city recreation equipment (real gym equipment!) if he wants to very easily. Problem solved.
ReplyDeleteThese whining wussies make me want to vomit. So what war/conflict did Mr Steinberg say he was in? The Battle of Baskin Robbins to see who would get a double scoop first?
ReplyDeleteWhat a Phony and a Fraud
ReplyDeleteHe knew he was causing problems for the VA hospital and they all smiled for the cameras... cutting ribbons.

It all makes sense.
ReplyDeleteNYU has wet dreams about buying the VA complex on 23rd Street and 3,000 PCVST condo units from Brookfield.
NYU made a down payment buying Dan. There simply cannot be permanent outcomes for poor veterans and middle class PCVST residents in Manhattan. They are the past. NYU is the future. Dan talking out of both sides of his mouth will make it so. His unconstitutional 3rd term is a killer.
Appalling.
ReplyDeleteThat third term that Bloomberg illegally bought has inflicted a lot of grief on the middle class, especially this community. Those who enabled him should have it come back to bite them in the ass. I hope Quinn never holds public office again. Maloney campaigned for Quinn for Mayor and I've despised her ever since. We need to be rid of all these creeps, especially Garodnick and Stringer.

10:57 am: I am tempted to email that link to "management" but I don't they care. This idiot couldn't be out a few dollars for a few days, so she is soliciting for some stranger to come in for that period? She doesn't give a flying fig about the safety of her friends (and they obviously don't care either) and, more importantly, the safety and wellbeing of the other tenants in her building. One of these days there will be a major crime committed in this community as a result of these bimbo bitches and dudes subletting their sublets to anything with a pulse and a checkbook. I just hope it isn't a real tenant who gets hurt.
ReplyDeleteThis is NOT a safe place to live anymore and it is no wonder the property is infested with bedbugs.
There was an article in this weeks T&V about bedbugs on the property, but it didn't make it to the online version - at least not the last time I looked.
Management here has to be the most incompetent bunch of losers who ever were inflicted upon a community. Why isn't Fred Knapp going after this type of transaction instead of hounding elderly tenants because they have lower rents. I guess it's easier and more fun to harass a war widow than it is to go after a bimbo bitch subletting her sublet for two weeks to anything that will pony up the rent! Shame on Dan Garodnick hating on the Veterans. Never once has Dan ever taken a hard line on NYU or the REBNY. But a veteran's hospital he wails on?! Shame on you Mr Garodnick, shame on you.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's a case of Dan "hating on the Veterans," but being "insensitive," at least in his quoted response in the article.
ReplyDeleteGiven that Dan is an adroit politician and lawyer (meaning: slippery when wet), it's surprising that he took that hard line with the VA. He could have simply expressed his disappointment at temporary change in the park, while underlining that the VA flood wall is of greater necessity as a protective barrier to another forced closure of this important VA hospital. He also could have mentioned that those who used the "fitness equipment" in the park could find a greater array of equipment close by at the Asser Levy Recreation Center.
ReplyDeleteHe could have delayed the fitness construction to coincide with the flood wall construction instead of keeping his promise to make an ill-advised deadline. Instead he made a deadline, had a photo op celebrating himself, then pretended to be angry over a situation he created at the expense of the VA hospital.
ReplyDeleteAs a project coordinator, we would have made sure the flood wall and the fitness area were done at the same time to save costs and time to re-do over.
Little Danny Boy G = "whore" for REBNY, NYU and money real estate interests?...unrestricted and unfettered development by the mega rich...waitin' for his payoff...comptroller, mayor, king?...jus' askin' that's all...
ReplyDelete"I don't think it's a case of Dan "hating on the Veterans," but being "insensitive,"
ReplyDeleteNot "insensitive," more an opportunistic public relations stunt generating positive media spin for Dan on a number of levels.
Dan gets to:
- Show off his million dollar “gift” to the community again.
- Demonstrate his quick response to a PCVST constituent complaint.
- Criticize “bad guy” VA for taking his gift away from us, lowering our QOL.
- Hold VA accountable demanding park restoration VA already planned.
- He’s our alert, vigilant hero always watching out for our best interests.
Dating back to at least 01/15, Dan was aware the VA planned a seawall. He knew this construction would take place and temporarily occupy park space. Yet he pretends the VA acted suddenly without forewarning and he will hold them responsible for it.
We are regularly treated to media reporting wherein a PCVST resident complains about something giving “Dan to the rescue” publicity. A fairly recent comment posted on STR mentioned an unsafe (homeless?) condition near Con Ed that Dan resolved. A personal favorite was the anonymous tipster sending us an anonymous protest petition after uncovering a secret CWC plan to chop down trees for a new playground/ball court on PCV green space. He reached out to Dan, who fired off an angry letter to CWC defending his PCVST constituents against another bad guy CWC plot. The fact no trees were chopped down is proof Dan forced CWC to back down. That entire episode smelled fabricated.
The sun will rise tomorrow. We don’t need grandstanding Dan telling us he is fighting for us to make the sun rise tomorrow.
The VA hospital and STPCV are both REBNY targets. Dan is a corporatist politician working for Wall Street/REBNY, not his human constituents - disabled veterans and middle class PCVST residents.

Agree 12:05 and the earlier comment that said Dan was all about glory on his million dollar donation (taxpayer).
ReplyDeleteCurrent Politicians take donations from hedge fund, RE and Wall Street and in return write laws that let them wreak havoc on communities then the politicians run press articles touting themselves as a hero that comes in to sympathize and gives taxpayer dollars a band aid on the bullet wound left by RE Wall Street and hedge funds thereby having the taxpayer pay to fix the RE hedge fund and Wall Street-caused problems.
Here is an idea, get better politicians who don't let the problems happen in the first place with laws written as they are supposed to be, for the people, by the people, of the people.
While they are at it they could stop the hedge funds from ruining Puerto Rico IN THE FIRST PLACE instead of allowing it, paving the way for it, and bailing the hedge funds out of the mess with federal assistance while the hedge funds keep their unjust enrichment.
Nobody needs politician heros or politicians portraying themselves as heros, People just need politicians to do their damn job serving the People. These politicians keep causing problems then coming in as if they are heros fixing the problems. Stop causing the problems. Start solving the problems. End the political quest to be hero worshiped. If you just do your job People will be grateful.

8:36 AM: how would one dispose of a dirty diaper, if not down the chute? So long as it is very well wrapped in plastic bags, it shouldn't present too much of a problem. "A few years later, Congressman Ted Weiss died, Nadler got to run for the seat, and Stringer, as these things go, was selected by the Democrats to fill Nadler’s Assembly seat.
The selection process was a backroom deal, quite literally. The county leaders gathered on a Sunday in October to vote. At first, the results seemed to indicate labor leader William Nuchow was the winner. Stringer and his supporters, disconsolate, repaired to Uptown Local, a bar Stringer co-owned. In an article from the time, Newsday reporter Gail Collins described it as “an interesting combination of nightspot and barbecued chicken takeout counter.” Reviewing the tallies, Stringer and his allies discovered an error and convinced the chairman to declare Stringer the winner instead.
“It is very probable that Stringer did indeed come up with a better count,” wrote Collins. “But to reverse the election in a bar? At 11 o'clock at night? Once again, we are confronted with one of the classic political questions: What in God's name were they thinking of?”

So Ken Langone is behind the press attacks on our NYC Mayor to "chip away at him".
ReplyDeleteIf the Mayor comes through for us, he will have our votes. We would rather have Mayor DeBlasio in a second term than Ken Langone in our community.
CALLING ALL INVESTIGATE JOURNALISTS !!
ReplyDeleteTO THE PETER COOPER VILLAGE STUYVESANT TOWN STORY -- THE LATEST OF MANY NYU REAL ESTATE SCANDALS AND ALL THE POLS WITH TWO HANDS AND THEIR WALLETS IN THE REBNY DEAL.
I'm reposting this as it is true and beyond belief. I don't know why there is not ONE JOURNALIST exposing this.
This is all preplanned. Removing (evicting) the working class from homes and getting rid of hospitals is happening all over with the rezoning, REBNY construction, Ratner Barclays, St Vincents, Stuyvesant Town Peter Cooper Village, the VA hospital. They redrew the NYC map and skyline and are releasing it on citizens little by little so we cannot protect our communities, businesses and homes.
ReplyDeleteCity Council should cover costs incurred to restore the fitness playground. It was their mistake to complete it for a promise and a headline instead of common sense coordinating construction with a flood wall needed for our Veteran's hospital.
Cuomo's true colors and feelings about constituents are showing.
ReplyDeleteThe politicians are phony game show hosts
Give back the hedge fund money
"Cuomo spokesman Rich Azzopardi dismissed the demonstration as “astroturf”—that is, a phony grassroots movement—for public sector unions critical of the governor." Read more at: http://tr.im/U80H3
Hypocritical Governor Cuomo, Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, Bronx Borough President Rubén Díaz, Jr., Comptroller Scott Stringer and Congresswoman Nydia Velázquez need to return the money they took form the hedge funds who destroyed Puerto Rico before they go down to be phony heroes feigning to fix the problems they caused.
“We’re here beecause Cuomo has announced a trip to Puerto Rico to express his quote-unquote ‘solidarity,'” said David Galarza of the group Call to Action on Puerto Rico, describing the countless shuttered shopping plazas he saw on a recent trip to visit family on the island.
“You can’t speak out of both sides of your mouth. You can’t claim to be in solidarity with the people of Puerto Rico, yet collect millions of dollars in campaign contributions from the same people that are hurting Puerto Rico.” Mr. Galarza recommended that, on top of returning the money, Mr. Cuomo should visit a Puerto Rican public school where teachers and students have staged a sit-in to protest its planned closure.
Make the Road activist Zoraida Cole recalled how a friend still living on the island had called her recently to ask for $20 after not eating for two days, unable to afford food with the increased cost of living. “Puerto Ricans, we live in a paradise, we don’t want to leave. But we don’t have the opportunity to work and feed a family,” said Ms. Cole, who came to New York from the island 15 years ago. “Right now, the best move is that Cuomo give that money back, and show the big companies ‘I’m not willing to take that money because that is dirty money.’ If he gives an example, everybody going to follow him.” Read more at: http://tr.im/U80H3
I'll never forget how shocked he was when Elliot Spitzer suddenly ran against him for comptroller. He was so sure he had it all sewn up! I voted for Spitzer and I really believe he would have done a much better (and more honest) job than Stringer.
ReplyDeleteCuomo has a lot of nerve and deep denial on his hedge fund and real estate bribes. Why would anyone be seen with him unless they are of the same type as Cuomo, corrupt to the core and maniacally egotistical? Here is a proper link to 9:42's comments.

ReplyDeleteDamn right!
ReplyDeleteStringer always thought of himself as above the law

Stringer’s fed-up detail asked their supervisor to be transferred back to regular intel work after the comptroller ordered them to chauffeur his wife, Elyse Buxbaum, to work at The Jewish Museum on the Upper East Side — then chewed them out for being late, sources have said.
He even once had his detail drive him to Boston with his wife for her friend’s wedding, the sources said.
Critics say the whole thing is a waste of police time."
The cops quit his detail after his tyrant abuse went too far

In Peurto Rico, the landscape is littered with shells of buildings that were started by developers who thought they could cash in on the island and then abandoned them. They are an absolute eyesore and health hazard.
ReplyDeleteHedge fund and RE Developer capital-flight land-hoarding crimes could have been stopped years ago if the current politicians weren't taking bribes from them in exchange for their current higher office. No More Promotions For Incumbents. They had their day and made the messes we are all in. We are voting for anyone but the Incumbent.
ReplyDelete“Right now, the best move is that Cuomo give that money back, and show the big companies ‘I’m not willing to take that money because that is dirty money.’ If he gives an example, everybody going to follow him.”
ReplyDelete-----
He is giving an example. He wants NY politicians taking dirty money.
2 out of 3 corrupt politicians in a room in Albany were arrested for taking dirty REBNY money. Speyer and Glenwood were caught paying them dirty money to simultaneously expand 421a for billionaires and shrink RS maintained on a death march. We already know the REBNY billionaires will walk away without a scratch. Still, it was incredibly foolish for Speyer's idiot son to actually sit down with Skelos and his idiot son, physically present and actively participating in corrupt deal making. That's what bag men are for.
One would think Cuomo might be worried after his corrupt buddies were arrested for committing crimes betraying constituents in exchange for dirty REBNY money. No, unfazed, he will continue giving his Wall Street/REBNY owners everything they want, then find ways to give them more.
That is plain wrong, unethical, and outrageously disgusting. Stringer abusing the system, misusing the system, disrespecting his security detail consisting of six detectives, one sergeant and one lieutenant from the elite Intelligence Division shows how spoiled rotten Stringer is. NYPD is short staffed but this guy gets that level of chauffeurs?
ReplyDelete"The NYPD cops who drive around relatively unknown bureaucrats like Scott Stringer — taking them on errands with their wives and enduring verbal abuse — are pulled from a high-level unit that helps prevent terror attacks on the city."
Cuomo is covering for CompassRock CW Garodnick Stringer. Keith Wright and Eric Schneiderman traded Riverton and PCVST in exchange for prosecuting unarmed cop shootings.

Eliminating the discovery on the Riverton overcharges, something Cuomo and CW want covered up, would have helped us keep our hard earned money but they prioritized their career advancement headlines. These pols are ridiculous. Careers advance on merits, not on trading our homes for Cuomo / Langone's vision.
Stringer again never offers ideas or solutions just a lot of blame finger pointing to everyone else saying they are failing and backing his tall tale with some questionably skewed data to make everyone else look bad as if that will make him look good. We pity the children in our elementary that tattle tale, snitching for attention crying look at me, look at me as I tattle on everyone else. Grow up and get out of public service and go work for the private business sector. Garodnick and Stringer are better suited for private greed sector. Never voting for them if that even matters, they will do a recount in a back room of a bar they own and steal public office. Thank you to all who put together the history and truths on these guys, we are newer here and hoping to be rooted, so it is good to know the history and the bigger picture. Here is our link to add to the bigger picture.

WE moved in a few months ago. Our rent checks take a concerning amount of time to be cashed. My cousin living here claims they in turn get hit with late fees as CR states they got them late. I'm not late. Is this legal?
ReplyDeleteWe have a problem with our rent checks and management too. What are they doing?
ReplyDelete2:57 Old story, they've been doing this to tenants since they came on. Old timer here and it is the worst management company in our history.
ReplyDelete2:57 Old story, they've been doing this to tenants since they came on. Old timer here and it is the worst management company in our history.
ReplyDeleteand THAT's saying alot since we have been completely underserved for years and years.......
It's not just the Old Timers who are saying this is the worst management they have ever experienced; the new tenants are saying it too, though their experiences were at other places, obviously.
ReplyDeleteWe need to be rid of CR and the TA and make sure none of the incumbents is re-elected. We need a total purge of the politicians and special interests that are ruining our community and our lives.
I wish Preet Bharara would get on the stick and drag Cuomo out by his short hairs. Then the rest of the corrupt cabal would implode.
I got an email from CR giving me the option to pay my rent online by automatic transfer from my bank account. As if I would trust this filth with access to my bank account! They are as stupid as they are evil!
ReplyDeleteHow can we get rid of management?
ReplyDeleteIf you pay your rent online, when do you transfer the funds over? When they receive it "late", what can you do? Bang, Bang, late fees. This landlord loves to hit us all with those fees ya know.
ReplyDelete2:17 PM: I believe they want automatic electronic payment. Not a fucking chance!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis landlord is engaging in the illegal practices that got a lot of credit card issuers into trouble. They deliberately don't cash the check in a timely manner in order to claim late fees. Maybe a complaint to the Department of Consumer Affairs would be useful? At least they would be able to tell you where to file a formal complaint reporting this dishonest practice. The banks had to pay heft fees when they were caught.
ReplyDeleteThey are doing a lot of shady financial things with our rent checks. A few have landed on Yelp. They pretend to lose things, cashiers checks, lease riders, and more.
ReplyDeleteAnd they are desperate for money and they know the authorities won't stop them from any of their frauds because all the authorities are in on the RE deal.
