Here's the morning Stuy Town sweeper zamboni cleaning up the Oval. Problem is that it does a lousy job (photo shows how lousy: all the leaves still remain after the zamboni's passage) and spreads noxious and harmful fumes in the air.
The photo may not truly tell the tale but this dog is huge enough for a child to use as a horse, fifty pound weight limit be damned. Public Safety has really dropped the ball in enforcing the complex's dog rules. We all know that, of course, but the question is whether the lack of enforcement is due to Public Safety or orders from above.
The chess table area between Oval Cafe and Oval Study is disgusting. Dog urine (pictured in photo), smudges of dog feces, cigarette butts, spilled drinks, food stains, flies, fleas, mosquitoes--it's all there to enjoy! The chess area and chess tables are never properly cleaned, with only Mother Nature's rain providing any type of effort. Management should post signs that no dogs are allowed inside that area, not only to stop the urine and crap stains, but also to prevent dog owners for placing their fidos on the tables!
A homeless man finds a nice place to sleep in Stuy Town. I don't begrudge him the sleeping quarters, but the question becomes how is it that our award-winning camera system and the eagle eyes of Public Safety did not see this?
I agree. No one cares. These photos need to be shown to the NYU parents and students. They should only know what they're getting into. All 8,000 of them.
ReplyDeleteSTR, many of us do care, but we are not in a position to do anything about it. We just pay our rent and try to live as peacefully as possible in this squalid dorm. Management doesn't care. Management is incompetent and lazy. They are also as cheap as it's possible to be. Despite the fact that they are raking in money hands over fist in inflated rents and paying themselves exorbitant fees for "managing" (lol!), they don't have plumbers on the property overnight; floods and back-ups are not considered emergencies, even if the tenant is treading water. Public Safety is USELESS. Totally, totally USELESS! They are instructed by management (I believe) to not respond to QOL complaints and blatant law-breaking, such as having a dog the size of a camel, letting your dog shit and piss all over the place, sleep in public places, etc. Those cameras are NOT manned. At best, they serve as a tool to review a crime after the fact (and after NYPD have caught the perp). A lot of crime goes on here that we do not know about because it is kept hushed up.
ReplyDeleteSomebody who can actually do something should step up and address the issues here and let's have a few heads roll. Unfortunately, because of our corrupt politicians and the Old Boys Club, the very people who should be doing something are benefiting from the shitshow that is PCVST.
As for the Tenants Association? Don't make me laugh. That thing doesn't even exist here anymore!
Dan, Marsh, Steinberg, Hoylman, Kavanagh, Stringer, Cuomo, Langone, Schneiderman and Kane and their public relations teams and finance teams and a residents too all have been keeping the NYU takeover out of the press and covered up.
ReplyDeleteFriends of ours in Greenwich Village, Brooklyn, and Queens who know lots of people who live in Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Village over the years had no idea of the changes here.
Time to get the word out LOUD for all to hear. 8000 dorms and all!
Compass Rock Executives say they are in charge of the country's largest private residential housing complex but the truth is they are running a college campus and they demolished the country's largest private residential housing complex.
Compass Rock Executives and the list of enablers demolished the country's largest private residential housing complex.
Wow. This hybrid college campus / luxury condo apartment complex is not safe for anyone. The drunk kids and the toddlers are all unsafe.
ReplyDeleteJust what did Cuomo promise Langone and Malpass in exchange for their money to support him instead of their Republican party's candidate? What does it take to get billionaire Republicans to betray their party? Land in NYC? PCVST? What did Cuomo give them? He always gives something and usually it is land or millions of dollars in tax subsidies. So what was it?
ReplyDeletehttp://nypost.com/2014/02/24/cuomo-seeks-republicans-to-back-his-re-election/
Gov. Cuomo is making another pitch Monday for Republican heavy hitters to back his re-election campaign.
"Home Depot founder Ken Langone is hosting a “Republicans for Cuomo” event at the Harvard Club at 8:30 a.m. Cuomo will address the well-heeled Wall Street and real-estate titans and field questions.
David Malpass, who ran in the 2010 Republican US Senate primary, also was involved in planning the breakfast, sources said. Cuomo attended a similar event last month."

As the Pope visit approaches, NYC homelessness and the decline of the middle class community in PCVST demonstrates the Popes message on inequality being caused by trickle down policies Cuomo has been a part of making as have all the career politicians. The Pope is right. Ken Langone is wrong.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/mad-millionaires-wary-st-patrick-pope-talk-article-1.1562984
Millionaires mad at Pope Francis’ wealth talk may close coffers to St. Patrick’s
St. Patrick’s Cathedral trustee Ken Langone told CNBC that some wealthy Catholics were balking at giving their financial support to the New York church’s restoration project in the wake of the pontiff’s teachings.
New York's St. Patrick's Cathedral, pictured, is undergoing restorations, but one of its trustees says rich Catholics are balking at making donations because of the pontiff's recent rant that 'money must serve, not rule!'
“Money must serve, not rule!” the pontiff wrote, taking aim at the new “idolatry” of money.
“While the earnings of a minority are growing exponentially, so too is the gap separating the majority from the prosperity enjoyed by those happy few,” he wrote.
People “have to say ‘thou shalt not’ to an economy of exclusion and inequality. Such an economy kills,” he continued, taking aim at “trickle-down theories” that wealth will eventually help the poor.
They care if their coffers are effected. That is the only thing that motivates them. Money. They worship money. They will do anything for you if you give them money. ANYTHING. ANYTHING Ken Langone wants Cuomo will do. Anything John Banks or Rob Speyer wants the politicians will do. They will drop everything to do anything for the Langones Speyers and Banks and they will not even take a call from a constituent. Welcome to current New York politicians.
ReplyDeleteThey could not hide their worship of money even with the huge Barclay Center built for the Democratic Convention so they could announce her run for President in a working class borough instead of the "uberwealthy" perception that Manhattan borough has -- so announcing at MSG or Jacob Javits was out of the question. (although working class disappearing in Brooklyn fast)
Still they could not hide their money worshipping and hoarding ways and the DNC went to Philly. Here is a who's who and who's connected to who on the failed DNC bid. Interesting to note former Con Ed head now REBNY head is responsible for choosing / doing the toxic cleanup or cover up of PCVST soil. Which will he choose clean-up and keep people safe or cover up to keep the money a cleanup would cost.
http://littlesis.org/maps/907-bdb-cons
Head of REBNY was on De Blasio transition team. NYC is in trouble and PCVST is a lost cause with no one caring about the disgrace above ground in these blog photos and the toxic underground they keep digging up. Money is the only thing they care about but they all practice and give us fake pursed lips furrow brow looks of concern when we tell of the abuse to our community and property each time they block our entrances campaigning.

Oh what a mess. Long time tenants were never that dirty, never that trashy. Nobody respects this property anymore. It used to be great. This is so sad.
ReplyDeleteBut this is a little good news. Maybe Mr Bharara is getting closer to the dirty dealings and workings by Mr Cuomo. Anyone have access to the 29 page letter by Mr Bharara?

You can't even make this stuff up...
ReplyDeleteI always take my laundry down to the basement along with a tote bag with my detergent, fabric softener, and dryer sheets. I always leave the bag on the table, and have never had an issue. Today, I was moving my wash to the dryer and was grabbing a few dryer sheets out of my bag when one of our infamous students asked me if the detergent was there for "all students to use."
I informed him that I had brought it down with me from my apartment. It ended there, but I can't help but laugh at the fact that he asked if it was for the use of all students.
I guess we know what the neighborhood has become. Oh, and this was 7PCR, and the student was an undergrad.
Maybe we should all write the Pope that Ken Langone redistributed the wealth towards him by stealing our working class homes for money making dorm transients. Get some truth out there on this inequality the Pope expressed is WRONG to do.
ReplyDelete..and do not leave your laundry detergent or anything in the laundry rooms unattended anymore. The students steal clothes out of dryers. College kids don't have the same boundaries as adults. They will take your detergent and your towels and sheets and whatever else they want from your clothes as they are in the dryers drying. They are still in the childhood mindset that things are provided to them for the taking.
Thanks for the Moreland interference update. Maybe those quashed REBNY subpoenas aren't far behind on getting exposed. Or at least several MAJOR witness tampering indictments. Come on Preet.......closer and closer.....

9:50 PM: These undergrad students are self-absorbed, mommy-coddled idiots and they are an indication as to how low the bar is for getting into NYU these days. We should have our rents REDUCED for having to live with these cretins.
ReplyDeleteIt is painfully obvious that the TA exists no more. It is defunct. Kaput. Gone the way of the Automat and 35 cent subway token. It has had no leadership for years. It's a shame because it used to be a vibrant and effective organization, but now it exists in name only and is really a tool of this incompetent and shady management and the corrupt politicians it panders to. I've been here 35 years and remember when we had a Tenants Association and was proud to be a member.
ReplyDeleteShould we send these NYU board members a no-thank-you note for having us pay for their security system or send the Pope letters to let him know another way Ken Langone is creating inequality.
ReplyDeleteThese are the wealthy 1%'ers people that PCVST tenants can no-thank for the MCI charge we working class are paying for their NYU campus security system to meet NYState regulation ins. Interestingly as the photos show PCVST is actually less safe with more trash, litter, homeless sleeping, bedbugs infestations, and the recent rapes after the installation by Security Management System of Great Neck Long Island and AMAG Technology
http://www.amag.com/uploads/Amag/Case-Studies/AMAG-CaseStudy-PCVStuyvesant.pdf
Forcing Working class people to pay for the NYU security system for the billionaire-board member-university in another effort to kick us out of our homes by making them more and more unaffordable is exactly what Pope Francis is rebuking.

Another round of new tenants on the floor as the revolving door changes monthly and annually. Our newest all night party girl told us she loves it so much here. She feels 'free' as can be and it is so much better than her Nyu dorm. Sure, has had loud beer in the hallway parties every weekend since the 3 of them (One Bedroom) moved in.
ReplyDeleteLuxury Living!
ReplyDeleteAfter campus security was installed, NYU would have had to have a State inspector make sure it was compliant.
ReplyDeleteDan Garodnick, Marsh, Steinberg the whole TA board knew, and were a part of the official State inspection of the installation of the NYU State-compliant campus security system.
They were a part of the "negotiations" of the campus security mci where they all agreed to put the NYU financial burden on the PCVST residents and to disguise it with a tiny percentage discount to call it a victory instead of a rip-off and likely a fraud too.
We tenants are paying NYU to kick us out. Inflicting this cost on us is disgustingly nauseating.
A real tenant association would have told NYU in no uncertain terms "pay for your own State compliant security system".
September 14, 2015 at 12:00 AM it is even worse. They are masquerading, calling themselves a tenant association when they are active in removing the tenants for their "new stabilizer" vision.
ReplyDelete...by "active" I mean to say the TA is empowering, aiding, assisting and even committing the actual acts that are destroying the community, property and tenant's lives.
ReplyDeleteAll of you on the perimeter saying you support and like the Oval events remember this: what you like is that you get to pick and choose which events and which concerts you hear when we have to have all of it, every concert and every event, blasted into our living rooms and bedrooms.

ReplyDeleteThe Pope is our greatest chance for all working class people. His message is our greatest fortune and a call for us to follow his words and to stand up for ourselves against the inequality driving us out of our homes on a land deal made in Albany and the city council.

THE TA HAS SLOWLY FADED AWAY INTO THE SUNSET. THEY ARE USELESS.
ReplyDeleteOnce the TA see these pictures they will act. They are currently organizing the next affordable condo conversion meeting (they realize that interest rates will be going up soon and want very much for us to get a great mortgage rate, this is why this is so pressing). So please people, cut them some slack. Once the TA is finished with the condo meeting logistics, they will take action regarding the QOL issues at the property. Management will rue the day they let the property fall into such disrepair once the TA gets on the case. Mark my words.

ReplyDeleteAre you calling PS AND doing on line 311 noise complaints? Engage your good neighbors (if any) to do the same. After several confirmed complaints via PS (always keep your accounting, the date, time and the name and badger # of the officer that responded-and be courteous) and NYPD (yes, the 13th precinct does respond to 311 noise complaints-they will send you an email confirm via the 311 process), demand and get a meeting with PS and your property manager. GO to the Oval PS office and the Management First Ave bunker to demand these meetings if calls and emails seem to go into the memory hole. If the issue continues, demand a meeting with Legal and PS. Do not bother with HaberSHAM. If you see homeless sleeping on the property, call PS. Too many tenants here do NOTHING. OK the TA sucks. We all know that. Time to move on and start going on offense as individual tenants. You will have some defeats as well as victories in this long and never ending process and it truly sucks that it has to be done but nothing will happen if you just bitch on this blog and don’t follow thru. Just go to the EV Grieve/Bowery Boogie blogs to see that this QOL issue is in the EV, the LES, etc. Good luck everyone.
As a PCV resident, I decided to take a walk over to ST. I sat by the fountain & I noticed that ST looks so much better than PCV. Wonder why. There seems to be - and there is-better landscaping, better fencing, cleaner grounds. Can anyone explain the reason for the discrepancy ? The security is even more visible . There was a time when PCV was considered the " rich cousin". That is no longer the case. Has anyone else noticed this or am I the only one???

ReplyDeleteThe TA did not fade away. They are laying low because we all know.
Stuy Town Albany and the entire state is a disaster because of a lawbreaking manipulative Governor who thinks he is so far above the law he has no respect for anyone, no respect for courts, no respect for citizens, and uses them for headlines just like he uses everyone including the Vice President!

Well, the conversion along with rubbing elbows with Dan and other politicos are what put the wind in the TA sails. With the conversion dead, John Marsh leaves and the TA goes inactive.
ReplyDeleteAs for the maintenance of PCVST, just don't look too close and everything is all right. Look close and you'll see flagstones with embedded dog shit and piss stains and weeds galore in all the grassy areas. It's all meant to look good on first glance.

ReplyDeleteWords marked. But I'm marking them as a fantasy. Sorry.
PCV is closer to Bed Pan Alley than Sty Town. Maybe they are planning to do something with it that will benefit the hospitals. I certainly don't think they will do anything that benefits us! I wouldn't be surprised if they tear it down in the not-too-distant future. I sincerely hope I am wrong, but they certainly have let it slide into slumdom far more than Sty. It used to be upper-class side of the project, but certainly not now. Another thing is that because the apartments are larger and some have two bathrooms (never has happened in the Sty!), they can probably cram in more students per unit and suck more money out of the place.
ReplyDeleteI hope their deeds come back to bite them in the ass - and give them rabies at the same time.
TA Supporter @ 1:56 PM: I suspect you also believe in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy. Do you not think that the TA already knows all about the filth and shit that is shown in the photographs? Unless they live off the property (in which case they should not have rent stabilized apartments) or are total shut-ins, there is no way they could not be aware of what a stinking, fetid slum the grounds have become and what a disaster of a "management" we have! Come down to Earth, please. Also, consider the fact that a great many of us are not interested in a condo conversion because it would be like flushing money down the toilet. This place is totally shot and ready for demolition.
ReplyDeletePreet is getting closer and closer....
ReplyDelete"So, here is the timeline from which you can draw your own conclusions: In March, Bonomo gives a $50,000 contribution to Governor Andrew Cuomo’s campaign committee. A few days later, Cuomo appoints Bonomo the head of the New York Racing Association or NYRA ( a job that people close to the Administration insist he was qualified for, since he was very knowledgeable of horses and racing. Fair enough ). About a month later, Skelos and his son are slapped with federal corruption charges. And in early June, just four days before the Belmont Stakes – one of the biggest days in racing – Bonomo steps down from his position at NYRA, and presumably starts cooperating with the Feds against Dean and Adam. A month after that the new indictment drops with two new charges including personal details about Adam’s behavior. This signaled to some that federal investigators were likely getting information from Bonomo which helped build the second set of charges."

ReplyDeleteANDREW CUOMO'S CIRCLE OF CORRUPTION
AND Governor Glenwood got 1.45 million dollars from Glenwood properties plus countless millions more to buy their way with rent regulations and tax subsidies while Cuomo unjustly enriched himself.
Cuomo abruptly shut down the Moreland Commission in 2014 when it began to look into Silver's growing outside income and also found that the Real Estate Board of New York was using Limited Liability Companies (LLCs)--a legal loophole well documented as a vehicle for large campaign contributions--to funnel money to Cuomo and other state politicians.
With rent regulations and millions of dollars worth of tax credits for New York City developers set to expire in June, the opportunities are enormous for state politicians to use their political power to vote and pass bills in the interest of powerful and wealthy real estate and legal firms, in return for enlarging their personal income.
Real estate firm Glenwood Development has the distinctive honor of benefiting from the corrupt practices of both Silver and Skelos. "Glenwood Development is one of the largest political donors in the state," according to Gothamist, "giving prolifically to members of both parties and all arms of state government, including a total of $1.45 million to Gov. Cuomo."

What has happened to PCVST is sinful. The greedy, evil, avaricious scum responsible should rot in hell. These people are subhuman. Speyer, Fink, Benmoishe, Langone, et al have sold their souls.
ReplyDeleteThere is a neglect of basic maintenance that could cause hazardous and harmful conditions.
ReplyDelete"Once the TA see these pictures they will act. "
ReplyDeleteNOTHING MORE THAN OBVIOUS TOMFOOLERY
They have sold their souls so many times no one is buying it anymore.
The TA knows all of this is going on long before it appears in photos on STR's blog and is doing nothing about it since 2007. If they are shamed into doing something only after it gets posted in a photo then they are not doing their job or are incapable of doing their job or worse are causing and cover it up until a photo appears and they have to for appearances sake. The TA has already said their intention is to replace the middle class with an upper middle class / wealthier "new stabilizers" community of higher incomes and a mixed-use property of businesses and short and long term residential stays. The TA and their alliance built the bunker office and all the unopposed construction.
Laughable is a plea to cut them slack because it takes all their resources to put together logistics for a meeting. Something a single good clerical could do unless the TA is putting on a dog and pony show with their PR firm to make it look like a "Trump-esque" politically rally so they can pretend to be taking back PCVST for the residents when the politicians and TA are the ones who destroyed it in the first place.
Garodnick and the TA plea for this 6 year screw the property and residents then come in at the end of their 6 years with PR spin as heros taking it back is the biggest load of crap they will heap on us yet. Especially if Langone or Hochul/Cuomo come in trying to say I will rescue you all when they are the ones who have been messing this place up.
That little Garodnick Steinberg walk through with Hochul prelude with the 6-year CW time period ending is obvious tomfoolery.
The politicians and tenant association have sold their souls so many times nobody is buying what they are selling.
Peter Cooper was always considered the jewel of the 2, now it's depressingly overrun with delivery trucks & despair, rarely are there families outside (all gone). The landscaping is bare minimum, I now see scaffolding on the FDR side. In fact the whole complex along the Avenue C side is a depressing ghost town with the Stuy Town garbage running free rein over this true waste land. BTW have the apartments with the patio's hit the market?
ReplyDeleteEveryone at our meeting on Golub can file a harassment claim - Urban Justice can get you started on it. It is not hard and it is the best time you will spend, it is time invested in yourself, it is time spent standing up to keep your home from the greedy dirty hands of the RE REBNY deal. It is easy to do with the instruction from Urban Justice.
ReplyDeleteFrankly the TA should have used the meeting to organize a massive number of filings of harassment complaints but again they pretend to be giving advice when they are really delaying any tenant response to the frauds so their real estate deal can go through.
ReplyDeleteWe do not have to take the harassment lying down. We do not have to prove ourselves. They have to prove their golub claim.
If you are innocent, then as many of us as possible should file as many harassment complaints as possible.
That is what the TA should have organized and started if the TA were genuinely trying to protect the residents.
Its easy to do. It will take our power back into the hands of residents. It is the appropriate response to false complaints from a landlord.
After you file a harassment complaint and they fail to prove their golub claim, all the individual filers of the harassment complaint are in position to file a class action suit.
ReplyDelete250 tenants at that meeting makes for a powerful harassment lawsuit. One they will not drag out for years because their 6 year time limit is near the end, the banks want their money, the sale has to go through without pending lawsuits from tenants.
They will buckle for the sake of their greedy fraudulent real estate deal they have pushed on us with years of harassment and rip-offs and overcharges.
It is our right to file a harassment complaint against a fraudulent fishing expedition golub claim. It is our best fighting position to save our homes for all of us to file that harassment claim now.
This latest wave of golub claims by those involved in the real estate deal is because they are not making their numbers.
ReplyDeletePUSH BACK. STAND UP FOR YOURSELVES. RE IS FAILING AND DESPERATE.
The groundskeepers have instructions to do nothing, no water, no [pruning, no care, on areas they plan to develop so the areas being neglected are up for development. Probably with Langone / Cuomo pretending to come in and rescue the property when they are the culprits all along.
ReplyDeleteThe Hochul tour from Steinberg and Garodnick was TOTALLY a play to make it seem like hero Garodncik and TA brought to the attention of the Governor's office the plight of the middle class so the TA, Garodnick, and Governor's office can come in to the rescue! So true! That is what they are doing. A big PR spin!
ReplyDeleteThey didn't count on STR blog revealing the truth behind the TA / Dan's involvement in the dorms and construction that TA / Dan approved and shepherded through DHCR and DOB while blocking tenants from our rightful claims to stop their overcharges and fraudulent charges and tree killing for illegal construction.
With the (albeit unsafe) security system and the security company deeming they were hired to make the Oval safe for events, do they dare have their PR Show Event in our Oval as some sort of national headline making big fat lie that the Governor, his bff Langone, and his cronies Garodnick, Stringer, Hoylman, Marsh/Steniberg Board, are rescuing the hedge fund / REBNY destroyed middle class community? To cover up that it is they themselves who destroyed the community?!!!!
The lost Oval Tree Park destroyed for Oval Events, like Brooklyn Barclays was built for the DNC event?!
The rescue of PCVST like their ridiculous 24 hour plane trip for headlines for a 17 member panel to go to Puerto Rico to "rescue" it when the hedge funds who destroyed it just fundraised for Cuomo and have given him millions to let them destroy things so the politicians can pretend to come in and fix things they destroyed in the first place?
We see what you are up to and all your lies. Someone somewhere who you cannot bully into submission will call you out on your Game of Liars and Thieves, hopefully before your next Liar's Ball Gala.

Look at what Cuomo does not what he says.
1. Women underrepresented at top levels of Cuomo administration
"Cuomo, who considers himself a feminist, has made gender equality a key component of his political strategy in recent years. He made his Women’s Equality Act the linchpin of his end-of-session agenda in 2014, and even gained an additional ballot line that year through his creation of the Women’s Equality Party.
At an event at New York University earlier this month, Cuomo bemoaned the “chronic sexism that still exists in society.”

3. Cuomo (dragging in Biden) in his NYC PR Show Event rally to raise minimum wage to $15 after telling the public that NYC Mayor De Blasio's push in Albany for $13 is a "nonstarter" shows his disingenuous deceit to manipulate situations for headlines for himself and make others look bad to make himself look good. ..more on that in next post.
4. Seriously the next PR spin big lie headline to propel Cuomo onto the national plan is our community - rescuing the middle class in PCVST when really he is removing us and handing the land to his best friend Ken Langone.
Everything this governor does and all his cronies too, is one big lie they can all celebrate at the 2016 REBNY Liar's Ball.

Updated September 12, 2015 2:45 PM By MATTHEW CHAYES matthew.chayes@newsday.com
Kept apart by two State Police cruisers, a pickup truck, occasional crosstown traffic and at least one city block at all times, feuding Mayor Bill de Blasio and Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo marched separately and delivered separate speeches at an annual labor union parade down Fifth Avenue on Saturday.
It's a contrast from last year's labor parade -- which celebrates unions representing teachers, supermarket cashiers, hard hats, doctors, bus drivers, principals, transit workers and more -- when the Cuomo and de Blasio marched behind the same banner and gabbed nearly the whole time.
The self-described longtime friendship has crumbled this year as they've bickered about issues as wide-ranging as paying for mass transit, charter schools, more affordable housing and infectious diseases.
Earlier this summer, de Blasio accused Cuomo of exacting "revenge" and carrying out a "vendetta" to stymie the city's interests -- a charge at which Cuomo has scoffed.
Cuomo, who had called de Blasio's proposal earlier in the year to hike the minimum wage to $13 or more "a nonstarter" in Albany, this past week proposed phasing in a statewide minimum wage hike -- to $15.
"I'll tell you this. You think you can stop this campaign in Albany? You haven't seen anything yet!" (Governor Andrew Cuomo)
The Albany Campaign is Killing New York City
ReplyDeletePeter Cooper Village Stuyvesant Town was a national model for sustainable middle class living in the greatest city in the world. A model of perfection with long standing residents for generations so desirable it had a ten year wait list.
ReplyDeleteA ten year wait list is the very definition of LUXURY.
A wait list for a Lamborghini Car or Hermes Bag for the ladies, defines it's luxury as the TEN year wait list for middle class PCVST defined it's luxury.
They stripped away all the luxury, put in a glossy fixtures and amenities, and now beg for tenant's on the bottom of the barrel Craig's List.
Middle Class Peter Cooper Village Stuyvesant Town was the definition of luxury living.
There was more class here than all the combined hedge fund REBNY and their bribe-bought pols have and will ever have.
Top TEN cars with longest wait list
1. Tesla Roadster $98,000
2. Koenigsegg CCX $550,000
3. Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead coupe $410,000
4. Bentley Brooklands Coupe $340,000
5. Mercedes-Benz CL65 AMG $194,000
6. Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 $310,000
7. Ferrari F599 GTB Fiorano $265,000
8. Ferrari F430 Scuderia $200,000
9. Morgan Aeromax $190,000
10. Aston Martin DBS $270,000
Peter Cooper Village Stuyvesant Town went from being the definition of luxury to being the definition of INEQUALITY due to corrupt political shenanigans and massive frauds on the People.
ReplyDeleteAny harassment complaints filed will be included in the Credit Suisse and all financial institutions reports on this property as they track it for the sale. The last thing they want you to know is it is within your rights and the right thing to do, filing a harassment complaint on a false golub claim.
ReplyDeleteThe TA, Garodnick and Stringer are all in bed with management. WE are the ones getting screwed up the ass by them all. Rape?
ReplyDeleteREBNY et al are helping CW CompassRock build and take money from here as a "servicer" while CW CompassRock is helping Garodnick et al take the land in a 6 year scam the real estate industry is pulling all over the country.
ReplyDeleteGarodnick and the TA keeping up appearances of being "tenant advocates" proved challenging when this very smart community saw through the scam.
Latest Yelp reviews tell of Compass Rock playing fast and loose with honoring lease terms and tenant payments using cashier's checks. Smart tenants didn't fall for the scams and with the help of their banks pushed back on Compass Rock.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the Yelp review Stacia A.
Everyone who received a golub claim from Compass Rock can immediately go downtown and file a Harassment complaint in the courts. It definitely is a fishing expedition. The NY attorney general Schneiderman already got all the information from Airbnb on Stuyvesant Town Peter Cooper Village to help them evict RS tenants here who are using the site and other sites like it.
ReplyDeleteIf you got a golub notice, that means Schneiderman came up with nothing against you, they have no evidence, no proof, no case against you and they are fishing for you to give them anything they can use against you.
Give them NOTHING.
By law, you are not required to give them a thing. Not one shred of personal information.
File the Harassment complaint in the courts and make Compass Rock prove their golub claim.
A false golub claim is an attempt to steal your home and ruin your reputation by claiming you are breaking the law.
You do not have to put up with it. They are not allowed to use golub claims for fishing expeditions.
Don't let them make your life miserable with false golub claims or make you prove yourself. Make them prove themselves and their claim!
ReplyDeleteWho got these golub notices? Were they all tenants in non-renovated apartments? Is this another purge a la TS?
ReplyDeleteThe TA is not laying low OR working on a condo plan. This new company in charge will have nothing to do with that. Their plan is to rip up every apartment and to rent it as high as they can. The TA'S hands are tied behind their backs and are virtually powerless. Are you going to buy YOUR apartment and not know who will be living next to you, year after year? Come on now. We all see what is going on here now. This place has gone right down the toilet.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteNew here and wondering: How does the landlord get a tax credit on my apartment which is $4200++ a month? That's not stabilized pricing or stabilized housing so
why the credit, why do they get a tax break?
Jus sayin.... Did I miss something here?
A story of how poorly conceived rent stabilization laws can lead to,,,,Disaster!!
ReplyDeleteSenate Leader Flanagan wrote loopholes in laws on purpose to undo the hard work of the Assembly who is trying to help and do right by the People. Long Island Flanagan is the same deals as Long Island Skelos.
ReplyDeleteJust knock the whole place down and start all over again. I am soo disgusted.
ReplyDeleteThe TA is going to act? The TA is putting together a new conversion plan that will win? In your dreams. Either that or you're just joking to get a rise.
ReplyDeleteTRUTH: They evicted 80% of the Peter Cooper Village Stuyvesant Town population ruining their lives, pulling kids from school and friends.
ReplyDeleteLIE THEY WILL SAY: We are your heros who saved 20% of the affordable housing and we are going to restore your homes by re-build the rundown mess Compass Rock left behind, rebuild higher and denser!
Did Governor Christie and Governor Cuomo trade with the WhiteHouse? New York and New Jersey will pay for half the cost of the new tunnel if the White House will pay the other half (and the White House will get Christie off the hook for the United Airlines and Cuomo off the hook for the criminal shutdown of the Moreland Ethics Panel Commission. Is that the deal?
ReplyDeletehttp://www.nytimes.com/2015/09/16/nyregion/cuomo-and-christie-say-states-can-pay-half-of-hudson-rail-tunnel-project.html?_r=0
These Governors are out of control and criminal.
And Schumer approves the deal.....come on

ReplyDeleteGovernor Cuomo is creating inequality across the state.
His Long Island casino deals are particularly disgusting with his "friends" getting richer and richer form the deals Cuomo is making using of his office for his contributor's business deals (thank you earlier commenter for the links)
Governor Cuomo sold the people's "New York State Office of the Governor" over and over.
Today's INEQUALITY in Peter Cooper Village Stuyvesant Town is ALL their doing.
I REALLY DON'T THINK THEY WILL BE SELLING PCV BECAUSE THEY ARE INVESTING SO MUCH MONEY IN THESE NEW APARTMENTS. $125,000!!!! THAT IS A LOT OF MONEY. THESE APARTMENTS ARE BEAUTIFUL BUT THE PCV GROUNDS ARE FILTHY AND LANDSCAPING IS IN DIRE NEED OF A MAJOR FACELIFT. I WILL NOT EVEN MENTION THE DOG MESS ALL OVER. I THINK THEY HAVE A PLAN HERE , BUT NOT SURE WHAT IT IS. THEY ARE NOW OFFERING A SERVICE WHERE YOU CAN PAY YOUR RENT ON LINE. THIS IS PROGRESS. THEY ARE "FIXING UP" THE ELEVATORS HERE. NOT SURE EXACTLY WHAT THAT MEANS . THESE PCV ELEVATORS ARE A LAUGH. CHEAP FLOOR TILES, CHEAP BRASS/ GOLD ELEVATOR WALLS. GOD!!!! WHERE IS THEIR TASTE???? TIME WILL TELL. KEEP YOUR EYES & EARS OPEN. TO BE CONTINUED........,
ReplyDeleteThe entire New York State is a disaster. Our Governor, a government official sworn to uphold the law, isn't hiding his acting above the law to cover up his crimes.
ReplyDeleteCuomo stopped his Moreland Ethics panel when they subpoenaed the REBNY. Now he is trying to stop the Department of Justice from their investigation in Cuomo's illegal activities.
Politics over Justice and Money over everything is the Cuomo way.
Blocking Justice, interfering with the court system is deplorable.

Here is another way to protect your home from Compass Rock. There are apps so you can see what they do when they are in your apartment.
ReplyDeletehttp://nypost.com/2015/09/16/man-watches-from-his-phone-as-robbers-break-into-his-apartment/
Off topic but it is disturbingly disappointing to just learn some of our neighbors who cared more about covering up the toxic contaminated construction excavation at the First Avenue Loop site than they cared about the health and safety of their neighbors.

ReplyDeleteWhat's being done about the overcharges. Class action lawsuit??????????
ReplyDeleteSeveral angry Democrats, all strong Clinton backers, told The Post that Cuomo’s embrace of Biden had further damaged the former first lady and secretary of state as she struggles with investigations into her private e-mail server, plunging poll numbers, and what seems to many like a President Obama-backed Biden candidacy.
“What the governor is doing with Joe Biden must be causing the Clintons and their allies to pull their hair out every day,’’ said longtime Democratic consultant Hank Sheinkopf.
Another year another Cuomo Scam
Three NYC appearances and a secret meeting with a top NYC fundraiser to boost Biden for a Presidential run in exchange for what for Cuomo? Probably all the theories floating but most certainly number two, to Obstruct Justice:
"Cuomo’s showcasing of Biden during three high-profile appearances together last Thursday and Friday and during the previous week were seen by some of the state’s most influential Democrats as what one called “an obvious effort’’ to join a Biden ticket and escape the “small-ball politics of New York.”
The second theory holds that Cuomo has been promoting Biden to put pressure on Attorney General Loretta Lynch, Southern District US Attorney Preet Bharara, and possibly Obama himself to block or terminate Bharara’s investigation of Cuomo’s shutdown last year of the corruption-fighting Moreland Commission and allegations he or his aides sought to interfere with the probe.
“There’s no way Preet would bring an action against Cuomo without Lynch and probably Obama himself signing off, and Biden would be right in the middle of that,’’ said a prominent New York City official.
Many Republicans also subscribe to that theory.
“Obama and his attorney general will make the decision on whether there will be a criminal prosecution of Cuomo, and one way of trying to avoid this is by embracing the vice president at the expense of Secretary Clinton,’’ said national GOP consultant John McLaughlin.
http://nypost.com/2015/09/13/is-cuomo-trying-to-run-for-vice-president-on-bidens-ticket/
OBSTRUCTING JUSTICE IS A CUOMO SPECIALTY
Preet has too much intergrity to let Cuomo get away with his crimes but Preet also has a new boss, Loretta Lynch, who may be ethical, but she is also political, and she is more political than she is ethical. Which she puts first is yet to be seen, her politics or her ethics.
Cuomo is headline pr spinning awfully hard with his legacy crap, the airport, tappanzee bridge, and hudson tunnels, hypocritical $15 wage and heavy heavy politicking.
Defensive maneuvers?
Will his current manipulations to obstruct justice be rewarded as they have for his entire career?
Or will Loretta Lynch let Preet do his job and uncover all on the REBNY subpoenas and the PCVST dirty deal too!

ReplyDeleteYou are being overcharged by one or more of the many ways exposed on STR's blog, a First Rent scam, inflated renovation costs, many other rent frauds they are committing. These are crimes and due a criminal complaint in addition to the civil lawsuits.
Andrew Cuomo dines with executive director for the Joint Commission of Public Ethics
ReplyDeleteBY KENNETH LOVETT NEW YORK DAILY NEWS Friday, May 1, 2015, 11:15 PM
Given how (the governor) gets involved in everything, how he got involved with the operations of the Moreland Commission, it just doesn't look good," said one source.
ALBANY - Gov. Cuomo earlier this week dined with the executive director of the state ethics commission that oversees his administration at a restaurant in upstate Saugerties owned by her extended family.
Cuomo rigging this Ethics Committee too? Article is correct, Cuomo gets involved in everything. No doubting the Hochul tour of the dead Tree Park Open Space Oval for the new NYC Oval Event Space is for an upcoming event whatever they are scheming.
Is there no Ethics or Law authority in New York State not controlled by Cuomo?

ReplyDeleteCuomo Cozies Up To de Blasio Rivals
http://www.nystateofpolitics.com/2015/08/cuomo-cozies-up-to-de-blasio-rivals/
Stringer's statement has nothing to do with Legionnaires disease and everything to do with Cuomo covering up for Stringer et al..... it has a wink and a nod thanking Cuomo for his involvement covering Stringer on something he did....and his crew. Or trying to cover up, but the evidence will always speak louder Mr Stringer.
On team De Blasio just to make sure shady Stringer is nowhere near being the next Mayor.
7 05 lip stick on a pig. the PcV buildings smell so bad. The porters can't clean them, or get the garbage out it seems. LOl at the woman I saw who was viewing with a broker - she said "What in the hell is that smell". Broker said nothing.
ReplyDeleteIn all seriousness, with 10,000 NYU students coming in, they'll each pay close to 4k or more (2k or less per student) each happyily and parents are thrilled! Much lower in cost than NYU housing, and larger! who would you rent to? come on tenants , we're not worthy.
ReplyDeleteSometimes they evict as many tenants as possible by any means then they give the rest a notices saying they have to leave and the new owner is not selling

"When developer Swig Equities bought the Exchange building at 25 Broad Street in September, rental residents started panicking. Now we're hoping they at least dedicated some of that worry time to planning, because here's the contents of a letter sent to all tenants yesterday:
NOTICE TO OCCUPANT(S)
PLEASE BE ADVISED, that the Owner/Landlord of 25 Broad Street has elected not to renew your lease, which is due to expire on or after February 28, 2006. It is requested that you contact [redacted] no less than twenty (20) days prior to the expiration date set in the lease for the above Unit and/or Storage Space to confirm your arrangements to vacate the Unit.

DID PETER COOPER VILLAGE STUYVESANT TOWN CONDO CONVERSION GO THE WAY OF 25 BROAD STREET - DISSOLVING JUST LIKE MARSH'S BROOKFIELD WEBSITE JUST DISAPPEARED?
THEN HERE IS THE KICKER -- THE COMEBACK AFTER REMOVING THE TENANTS WHO WERE LINED UP TO BUY THEIR UNITS AND VOILA IT IS LUXURY CONDOS FOR ONLY THE ONE PERCENTERS
The historic Broad Exchange Building, located at 25 Broad Street, has seen more than a few ups and downs in the real estate world, but now, six years after a failed condo conversion, the building has finally found success as a luxury rental.
LCOR, Inc. purchased the landmark building, constructed in 1902 by Clinton & Russell (same dudes who did the Apthorp and Langham apartments, among many others), last year for $170 million, and resurrected the conversion plans that crumbled with the collapse of Lehman Brothers in 2008. The Journal reports that almost all 308 units are occupied. But the real comeback story is in the building's appearance. Extensive renovations have restored the building to it's original grandeur. Hoffmann Architects, the firm that worked on the exterior,

SHADY REAL ESTATE DEALS FOLLOW THIS GUY AROUND. CUOMO STARTED THE RE DEAL EVICTING THE TENANTS, THEN REMOVING THE REST AFTER DECLARING A FAILED CONDO CONVERSION THEN SCHNEIDERMAN CAME IN AND FINISHED THE DEAL WITH ALL NEW WEALTHY-ONLY TENANTS IN LUXURY CONDOS.

It is a scam. We are being taken for a ride, ripped off and the only ones left standing in the end will be those running the scam, the attorney general, governor, Langoney, rebny, robbie, and nyu (and all the little cronies stringer, garodnick, hoylman, yada yada yada....the ta board will be rewarded for their complicity and activity in the betrayal too. There is no condo deal for present tenants.
ReplyDeletePoster above !!!! You don't think we know the monthly rent we pay is criminal? you don't think we know they cooked the books? you don't think we file complaints? we can't all hire lawyers. We can't afford lawyers. Who is protecting us.
ReplyDeleteLast night in our PCV residence (now a transient hotel dormitory) for several hours we were inflicted with six 20-something aged bro's partying while moving in through front entrance - lots of noise, laughing, shouting, arguing, furniture in lobby and hall, banging furniture against walls, monopolized elevators, etc.
ReplyDeleteGlad they aren't on our floor, but then we already have three apartments (now dormitory barracks) packed sardine-style with similar, ever changing casts of loud, partying, inconsiderate, sloppy transients...
80 Acre Oasis With a Park Running Through It no more
Staying on topic, I was sitting in PCV basketball court playground & I was reminded what time of year it is. Yes, the children from the local Public Schools are using our basketball playground. Why not??? There is no supervision . No one checking IDs. They are yelling, cursing play fighting. Such a nice scene. As potential renters are going in to see the model, apartment , they see all this. Nice impression. The kids know they are not supposed to be there. I can hear them discussing this - telling one boy to stop cursing because we will be thrown out. Meanwhile, some residents try to go in to play basketball , but they can't because these charming kids have taken over the playground. Does management realize that this is a tragedy waiting to happen. There will be a fight or someone will be badly hurt & a legal case will be pursued. Wake up management. Stop this invasion once & for all.
ReplyDeleteSo today I encounter a bicycle rider with a large box maneuvering around the oval gates, so after passing thru to the oval the rider precariously proceeds to balance the large box on the box, I ask why not just obey the sign (no biking in oval), he turned around and said it was ok he works for the complex. With this attitude how do we stand a chance
ReplyDeleteThe basketball season has yet to start, just wait for the giant circus tent arriving soon.
ReplyDeleteSeptember 16, 2015 at 2:40 PM
ReplyDelete"who is protecting us"
Not the Attorney General which is who should be protecting us. Real Estate is the dirtiest game in town. No wonder Cuomo stopped the REBNY subpoena. Dirty and guilty
sure, but who will pay for the security staff needed at playgrounds? um, yep, tenants.
ReplyDelete"Poster above !!!! You don't think we know the monthly rent we pay is criminal? you don't think we know they cooked the books? you don't think we file complaints? we can't all hire lawyers. We can't afford lawyers. Who is protecting us."
ReplyDeleteWho is protecting us???? Why Dan Garodnick and the Tenants Association of course.
ROFLMAO.......Sorry I couldn't resist....LOL....Garodnick...TA....LOL
Compass Rock? More like Incompetent Rock!
ReplyDeleteIs there anyway of making sure that Preet Bharara is aware of all this shady stuff going on here? I went to the website and couldn't find an email address because I wanted to email Bharara a link to the STR blog.
ReplyDeleteManagement is lax on quality of life policies including the basketball courts, on purpose as part of their plan to rid of us and build/rebuild. The plan is devised and sanctioned by all who are discussed on this blog as owned by the REBNY.
ReplyDeleteThe things they do to us and to other tenants in other buildings for the sake of money in their coffers bribes so they can advance their life-long political careers is illegal. If a private company operated the way NY politicians do - that company would be shut down.
Career politicians made policies to cause the inequality problems we face today, then as they have advanced they are making headlines for themselves with programs to "fix" the problems they caused.
Their programs fix nothing, cure nothing, solve nothing.
The landlord management is doing whatever they want to the property and to the tenants because the politicians are paving the way for them. That includes unaddressed unsafe basketball courts.
ReplyDeleteSeptember 16, 2015 at 7:47 PM remember when they were constructing the thousands of chopped apartment dorms and oval strip mall and they had hundreds of workers driving golf carts on the walkways, speeding and in the wrong direction? They almost hit people everyday because they are all lazy, arrogant and think they are above the law, speeding around our residential complex like it was their own private golf course or race track. They were rude about it.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.pionline.com/article/20150916/ONLINE/150919913/nyc-retirement-systems-gives-significant-pay-raises-to-leaders
ReplyDeleteIn yet another move to increase inequality NYC matches Wall Street salaries in a time when the public and ethical authorities call for scaling back on Wall Street's inflated pay. It's good to be in the "clubhouse" and bad for the public.
The politicians made a deal taking away our community and don't have the balls to be upfront about it. How many times can they get away with the game?
ReplyDeletePeter Cooper Village is a disaster too.
ReplyDeleteThe REBNY made a deal and is pulling all the strings with Garodnick, Cuomo, Stringer, Hoylman running the shit show here. PCV and ST are a disaster. We have our local and state politicians to thank for that.
ReplyDeleteIf they try to come in with a Cuomo / Hochul / Langone PR stunt in the Oval announcing anything other than admittance of their utter failure to do right by this working class community along with a confession of their complete betrayal of this community; then the nonsalvageable incumbents are too arrogant and ignorant to be voted for anymore.
Since MetLife sold PCVST, Dan has treated residents like we are stupid and easily fooled. This community is not stupid. We are busy, hard working, and smart in our respective job fields. Politicians take advantage of the fact that we are busy working and raising families so we cannot keep on top of the politicians all the time to make sure they are doing their job for the people. If my boss had to keep on top of me and to protest just to get me to do my job - I would be fired. I am expected to do my job without fanfare, kudos, endless twitters of peer adulation.
So they do the dirty work for the REBNY and hope we won't find out what they are up to until it is too late and they can say they tried but the landlord and REBNY and wall street aren't doing anything illegal. If that is so and what they are doing is legal, amassing and hoarding homes as gambling financial tools then the laws written are corrupt. Therefore the lawmakers are corrupting the laws.
The politicians are not doing their jobs. They are doing the jobs of the private sector, Wall Street, REBNY. Citizens are losing their homes, and still struggling from hurricane damaged homes while developers are building and profiting from entertainment centers as Cuomo / Ratner / Mangano's Barclays and the Nassau Colliseum.
The results clearly show the present politicians are not properly doing their jobs and do not deserve to be rehired with our votes next election. Not one of them.
7:24 AM: You are right on! I agree with you totally.
ReplyDeleteI just received a renewal reminder from the TA. I am trying to think of at least one good reason why I should renew my membership and I just cannot come up with one.
I'm not renewing my membership to the TA either.
ReplyDelete"Here is where to drop a short note or long letter to let Cardinal Dolan know how Mr Ken Langone/NYU is causing inequality, taking away homes from the working class; and to ask Cardinal Dolan if he would forward our message to Pope Francis who is speaking against inequality, the precise inequality occurring in Peter Cooper Village Stuyvesant Town, New York City, USA.
ReplyDeleteThe Pope is our greatest chance for all working class people. His message is our greatest fortune and a call for us to follow his words and to stand up for ourselves against the inequality driving us out of our homes on a land deal made in Albany and the city council.

Don't expect any help from Dolan. Langone gives him a lot of money. And remember, Dolan has a lot of skeletons in his closet from when he was an Archbishop in Milwaukee. Lot of smoke and mirrors and making money disappear and letting pedophiles slip through the net.
Pope Francis has zero tolerance for that. Pope Francis priorities are 1. Ethics/Morals and 2. Profits and not the other way around like our NY leaders.
ReplyDeleteIt is a new day and a new way with Pope Francis. Corrupt ways of Cardinal Bertone and any corrupt Cardinal is getting exposed and eliminated. Maybe we write the Pope of the inequality Mr Langone is creating in Peter Cooper Village Stuyvesant Town. Why not.

The Vatican bank has been shrouded in mystery for decades, but a tax treaty agreed on Wednesday between the Holy See and Italy is a sign of changing times at an institution that is trying to shed its image as a haven for money laundering and tax avoidance.
The deal, which will require both sides to share financial and tax information, is part of a broader drive by Pope Francis to clean up the Vatican bank, or the Institute for Works of Religion (IOR) as it is formally known.

ReplyDeleteSounds just like the REBNY! Only difference is that the REBNY is NOT trying to reform and adhere to any moral or ethical code. REBNY wallows in being a haven for money laundering and tax avoidance!
