Congratulations, New York!

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/11/19/nyregion/half-of-new-yorkers-say-they-are-barely-or-not-getting-by-poll-shows.html?_r=0

"51 percent of New Yorkers said they were either just getting by or finding it difficult to do so."

I wonder how many live in our community?

  2. As another commentator pointed out already, Blackstone Tishman CW Canada Pension Brookfield, it is all the same players, the same scheme, the same objectives and goals.

Schumer, DiNapoli, Schniederman, Cuomo, Blackstone, and NYU

Blackstone LaunchPad is directly tied to the NYU expansion plan and ALL the middle class tenants at PCVST are in the way and not in the DiNapoli, Schneiderman, Schumer, Cuomo plans.

Of course Schumer had to direct Fannie and Freddie $$ towards this plan, no matter if it is Brookfield or Blackstone. That money was NEVER going to TENANTS or to make sure affordable housing was preserved.

The college dorms are in the thousands. Their evasiveness on their knowledge is nonsensical.

DiNapoli, Schneiderman, Schumer, Cuomo all have both hands in the deal. They could have been upfront instead of leading tenants on with a phony tenant bid or of any hope of affordable housing for the middle class.

DiNapoli, Schneiderman, Schumer, Cuomo all of Albany want ALL of us OUT. That is why all of our dhcr overcharge complaints and all of our grievances are completely ignored.

Berlin Rosen representing the TA Board, Blackstone, Dan Garodnick, Eric Schneiderman, all parties interested in RE interests and not tenant health, safety, security. They want us all gone and the college campus in. Getting us to pay for the college campus security is an all time low even for these guys.

  5. BlackStone LaunchPad is another version of the TV show Shark Tank (and American Express has a similar program) but Blackstone is getting a lot of public $ and government assistance. Government is serving, servicing and financing billionaire business more and more and serving the citizens less and less.
Doing it in the name of "giving back" should not include being subsidized by government and taxpayer dollars and citizens losing their homes.

Business is already uber-wealthy, did they really have to get government assistance for their programs on top of taking away our homes and small businesses?

  9. To the earlier commentator on the perpetually pending DHCR overcharge complaint

11:09 answered your question. Albany and NYC City Hall politicians are rigging the system and failing you and all of us. Each month they overcharge is a separate act of theft, money out of our pockets and into theirs with little to no chance of recouping it. Delaying may very well be an indicator that they are stalling because there is a very big problem they want to cover up. A big problem where they owe you a lot of money, where there is deliberate theft, where there is criminal fraud, and or where there is property wide practices ripping off all of us that they want to cover up.

If they now rush to an answer, get a second and third opinion. For the past years Cuomo Schneiderman and Blackstone oversaw the TPU and DHCR, so we can't blindly trust their final word. TPU and DHCR have to do what Cuomo, Schneiderman and (previously) Mulrow tell them to do.

Have a website listing each and every complaint and dates when DHCR overcharge complaints were filed and tracking length of delay from Commissioner Towns, AG Schneiderman and Governor Cuomo

Tally number of PCV ST complaints filed with the threesome Cuomo Schneiderman and Towns and write an op ed in a newspaper with readership beyond PCV and ST like The Villager, WSJ or any of the many others

Write an open letter to Commissioner Towns in a newspaper

Write to the publisher of Public Integrity who called out Cuomo DiNapoli Schneiderman
    http://www.publicintegrity.org/2015/11/09/18477/new-york-gets-d-grade-2015-state-integrity-investigation

Tell your story, your overcharge complaint filed, how it effects your family to have money stolen from you every month in what is basically white collar robbery, no different in effect than a robbery at gun point except that white collar occurs repeatedly and ongoing every month (where the likelihood of a robbery at gunpoint occurring on a monthly basis is little to none). Tell how the NY law enforcement does nothing about it because it is white collar crime and white collar criminals are the ones paying off, I mean donating to the politician law enforcers.

    Tell your story.

  18. A friend who works for Compass Cock, the ghouls who ran this place, told me that they have a detailed, precise actuarial table predicting when all the rent-stabilized tenants will die! Lovely isn't it? I'm sure when I croak, they'll be painting, priming and primping the apartment for the new tenants, before my body is even cold. No wait. First they have to put in the cheap cabinets and a new sink, claim they spent $120,000 on renovations, then charge the college bros four times my rent. But no again. My youngest is an occupant so she will get my place. So at least she'll get an apartment at an affordable rent. I hope. F U greedy, soulless, money grubbing landlords.

  19. November 21, 2015 at 9:48 AM "They win."

Hardly. I mean in one sense you are correct. To Cuomo and Schneiderman, the two men who hold the two highest positions in the State are treating this as a game. A game of winners and losers.

But to us it is real life and they are playing with our lives, messing with out lives, and messing up our lives. It is not a game to us.

That being said, they cannot be considered winners with the grade card they just got. These two men hold the top two elected offices in New York and they got an F. Most of their grades are f, d and a few c's.

Even worse they are cheating the game. They are rigging the courts.

    Judicial Accountability GRADE:F(43)
    RANK: 48th

Cheaters are not winners. Sure they have more money then us, help their friends make more money then us, and use their office to do whatever they want to do to us and still they have to cheat to "win".

Cheaters and failures are not winners even when the one with the most, or as the saying goes "winner" takes all. Taking all still does not make them winners.

    Disagree.
Garodnick-TA betraying their PCVST neighbors/constituents via phony "tenant led purchase" delivering EVERYTHING to major REBNY predator and $25 million Speyer investor Brookfield and NOTHING for PCVST tenants that they didn't already have - set a very low bar keeping PCVST in play for years.

Garodnick-TA selling themselves out early and pretending duped PCVST tenants supported their disgraceful betrayal handing multibillion dollar windfalls to Brookfield in exchange for worthless promises to do nothing costing Brookfield nothing encouraged competing Wall Street/REBNY predators to continue stalking PCVST prey looking for opportunities to snatch the prize away from Brookfield.

Blackstone was patient, saw an opportunity presented by Garodnick-TA-Brookfield failing to satisfy Mayor de Blasio's "numbers only" affordable legacy planning and whispered satisfying numbers into Alica Glen's ear to pull the rug out from under Garodnick-TA-Brookfield.

From the outset, it was the Garodnick-TA betrayal setting a very low bar with a proposal delivering NOTHING for their PCVST neighbors/constituents and EVERYTHING to a predator that left the door wide open for competing predators bidding alternative plans delivering the same outcome - NOTHING for PCVST residents and EVERYTHING to a predator.

    CONFLICTS!
    RIGGED!
    ETHICAL?

The central kick in the teeth and the ass from Paul Weiss to PCVST is page 41 with their client the New York City Economic Development Corporation \ Government / Municipal \ (for which currently Dan Garodnick is the "chairman" city council liaison go to guy)

"We represented the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) in three major transactions with universities in Mayor Bloomberg’s signature initiative to transform New York City’s economy into a hub of technology education and innovation. The Applied Sciences NYC initiative is expected to generate billions of dollars in economic activity and tens of thousands of new jobs over future decades. We assisted NYCEDC in entering into agreements with: (Cornell Tech - Roosevelt Island, NYU, and Columbia)"

(Verizon is a key player in Cornell Tech Roosevelt Island as well as in PCVST NYU Oval Verizon concert series and events courtesy of Brad Hoylman.)

Marsh, Doyle, Steinberg via Dan "hiring" Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton Garrison in the highly questionable no-pay w/o deal fee arrangement was a way to give the property over to Bloomberg's signature initiative. That is why Bloomberg did not help save 25,000 citizens living in Peter Cooper Village Stuyvesant Town. Bloomberg lied when he said he would not help because it was a "private" deal.

Bloomberg helped all right, he helped himself to our homes for his signature initiative that Paul Weiss Wharton Rifkind Garrison was carrying out for Bloomberg. Tenant interests were never represented, never prioritized, never the objective or goal. We were and are in the way and Paul Weiss is ridding of PCVST.

No doubt the ferry shuttle is for shuttling the tech community from NYU Langone 34th - Cornell Roosevelt - NYU Stuy Town - Brooklyn Campus etc

    By Gary M. Stern Jan. 21, 2015, 9:45 a.m.

    https://commercialobserver.com/2015/01/the-colleges-that-ate-new-york/

Bloomberg's Signature Initiative of Applied Sciences Campuses necessitates eviction of at least 85% if not all of the PCVST community, replaced with "new stabilizers" of greater wealth and a reconstructed / new construction Applied Sciences CUSP Campus developed by the NYCEDC - one of Meredith Kane's clients in the deal along with city council NYCEDC chair Dan Garodnick.

What bothers the most is the plan relied entirely on deceit, deceiving this community, and the deal relies on robbing us to force us to overpay, pay for college campus requirements, be overcharged with fraudulent rent practices, discrimination in the applying of the mci charges with heavier burden on RS to push us out faster and robbing us of justice with our Roberts battle, etc. Bloomberg, Paul Weiss and Garodnick / TA deal relied on robbery of our money and of our homes.

It is the unlawfulness, illegality and unethical nature of this that really bothers the most. Couldn't these top minds from top universities have implemented their plan without ripping us off and kicking us out of our homes in the West Village, East Village and Peter cooper Village Stuyvesant Town?
