Oval Cycles

Two bicycles, one on the south side, one on the north side. Almost together. Not stopped.

Again and again.

  1. STOP THE CYCLES

    Oval Cycles to Political Cycles

When the Governor of the State puts a Senior Managing Director of a Global Asset Management Corporation Blackstone as Head of Housing and the Mayor of NYC puts a former Goldman Sachs Executive as head of Economic Development and Housing the results are the citizens lose their housing and Wall Street businesses increase their wealth, profits and real estate portfolios... And tenants in Stuyvesant Town wonder why our Stuyvesant Town DHCR reports go into oblivion.

The WSJ has a nice piece on what the New York State politicians do when they get caught serving those on Wall Street and not serving the Public.

"The two day meeting to plan the cover up from the Manhattan U S Attorney Bharara Office's raids on two top aides Percoco and Howe included former head of housing authority.

Probe of Ex-Aide Caused a Stir at N.Y. Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Office
After Joseph Percoco became focus of a federal investigation, governor’s administration began planning for the potential fallout

By Tuesday afternoon, Mr. Cuomo had assembled a group that the next day were huddled at his Midtown Manhattan office, where they would remain for two more days.

The group included a coterie of outside advisers: his former senior aide Steven M. Cohen, former chief of staff Josh Vlasto and former spokesman Matt Wing. It also comprised internal officials, such as chief of staff Melissa DeRosa, Secretary to the Governor Bill Mulrow, counsel Alphonso David and longtime top aide Linda Lacewell.

    Lobbyist Todd Howe
Director of State Operations Jim Malatras
    Defense attorney Elkan Abramowitz
Secretary to the Governor Bill Mulrow

In early May, Mr. Mulrow threatened to quit after the governor’s office didn’t publicly defend him when he was identified as one of the people named in the U.S. attorney’s subpoena. Mr. Mulrow withdrew his threat later, and Mr. David issued a statement defending him and others...."

Following Unanimous State Senate Confirmation, William Mulrow Will Today Chair His Inaugural Meeting at New York State Homes and Community Renewal"

The way to change this direction of lost small businesses and Middle Class homes is to vote out the Current Heads of State and City and all the underling comptroller and city council politicians they are nurturing, endorsing and advancing to continue their Upstate Buffalo to downstate NYC / Long Island billionaire agendas. If a politician is endorsed by current City and State administrations - it is probably a good bet to vote against that candidate in any and every upcoming election.

  2. I've actually seen the other day a very young security guard in the oval area tell
this girl on a bike it's ok to get back on and ride, apparently because it was not busy at the time. They too do not really care. No bikes period, anywhere, no special areas where you can and cannot ride. Just like the old days. Oh, that's right, times change and so do all our laws. There will be a time when someone gets killed, and a big lawsuit is served. It's only amount of time.

  3. The senior citizens can't walk around the Oval when their is anyone on wheels, bikes or boards. It does not take much to break a bone of a senior citizen. Slightly bumping into them or knocking them down entirely will break their bones. That is why the rule of no bikes is so damn important.

  4. When I was a kid I would ride around the oval in my big wheels. The old people would complain then and my grandfather (the most grumpy of them all) would tell them to shut it. People are always going to complain, but I agree the bikes are a hazard. Very different than big wheels!

  5. Management wants the seniors to get hit by cyclists because it will cull the older folk even faster than letting nature take its course. They want those low rent apartments back into the inventory and they will do just about ANYTHING to achieve that!

  8. The kids on scooter are also a big hazard the way they race around.

Some kind of "law" must deal with the scooters. Agreed. But if PS can't handle bicycles???

  10. Only when someone gets seriously hurt by these bike riders/scooters and the lawsuit starts will POS start enforcing the rules here. Suit against management, the individual who caused the accident, PS ete

  11. If the scooters are foot powered, no chains or gears, then they are allowed on sidewalks, and must be operated within the law for liability. In other words, if the kid rams into you causing injury, you can sue.

Kids under 14 MUST wear a helmet when on their bicycles.

All bike rules are available with a simple Google search, at nyc.gov.

  12. I actually saw a bicycle rider stop for the red light on 19th and first avenue. That is the first time I have ever seen anyone stop at that red light, pedestrians in the crosswalk or not. Kudos to the 13th precinct, you finally got someone to stop. Thanks for nothing!

  13. Not sure the 13th had anything to do with it!!!! LMFBO - No citizen of nyc does shit unless you him him /her in the pocket book.

  15. The overgrown children on skateboards are a menace when they are on the sidewalk. If one of those goes into the back of your legs you are likely to be maimed for life.
