No Comment Is Necessary

This is what I see every day. Would it hurt a representative of Blackstone to make the same 15 minute tour of the Oval and its environs? Or...is everything okay and fine??? Is that the spin?

These are actual photos, as you can see, and made today, in the afternoon.

I would not be proud of the quality of life on display.

  2. The avenue C loop is deplorable, the Netherlands of this once fine complex. Practically a haunted mansion tour that would include the boarded up windows, the old rental office, the garbage collection depot. Oh my

    ReplyDelete
  3. yet the ave c loop still has minimum 3100 to rent. lmaoooooooooo

  4. I lived through the "dumpster era" along 18th & C when they would pick up and DROP the dumpsters on the ground in the middle of the night (3AM). This went on for what ? a year and a half or more ? while they eventually built the garbage garage. Add to this the constantly changing, carpetless crew upstairs, and the "go fuck yourself old man" attitude of some of the new millennial tenancy had me GLADLY exiting Mike Bloomturd's bicycle littered streets for the 'burbs.

Now it's almost 2017, Cheeto Jesus will lead the free ? world as he threatens to start a nuclear war, the stock market is hanging on a razor's edge and the middle class is about to be decimated as his government develops tax incentives to build automated factories, free of workers that deliver their goods with self driving delivery trucks.

At least Marijuana will be almost legal. Happy New Year everyone. Time to think about turning some Red States into Blue ones.

I "lived" through that, too. I remember how it was a priority for Dan our Man. Nothing changed until they built the garages near the FDR. Shows one who is in charge.

  7. Notice how after the inner roads were repaved, flooding still occurs outside Garage 4.

    Excellent engineering.

Just slop on the asphalt and roll it out.

    Your tax dollars at work.

  8. Still flooding outside garage 4 after new asphalt job.

    Great engineering.

  9. I did notice some christmas butt nuggets outside my building (i.e. more than usual). There's two fresh piles of shit right in front of the management office. I have a feeling they may be cleaned up pretty quickly.

  10. Go back to that smiling photo of Steinberg, dan, and his little lackey - they are laughing because they think we are stupid enough to think that the PCVST community trusts them to do a good thing with the paving. It's not just garage 4, it's all over. The roads flook much more since the paving.

  11. Complainers, complainers. I've decided to stop complaining about the noise, door slammers, No sleep, no carpet neighbors, on and on and on,. I'm devoting all my efforts to prepare to LEAVE!!!. Had to call in sick for work on Monday and lost a day's pay because the jerks living around me kept me up till 3Am with the slamming closet doors.

When they build the new dorms across 14th St., put in a Target and oust Associated for a Traders, this place will be unlivable. My quality of life is ~50%. There has to be something better.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Avenue C residents that was often referred to the Siberia of Stuy Town can only expect more of the same. This new managements removal of perimeter trash cans is the newest insult to this once fine community. Why? Because fear it was being potentially used for non-residential trash! These Canucks have been drinking the maple syrup too much!

    ReplyDelete
  13. 11:16 we absolutely agree with this. But get a lawyer - it's ez, not $ and they deserve it. Then leave.

    ReplyDelete
  14. This problem keeps getting worse and worse. I see people from across the avenue make a beeline for our community with their dogs. Some go to entrances that are hard for PS to cover but that doesn't really matter. I see them walk in right past PS so the others are only wasting steps. PS doesn't care. Meanwhile, the dog population here keeps growing with no limits in sight.

Do think for one minute that Blackstone execs would put up with dog crap like this in front of their park and fifth avenue duplexes and their townhouses on the cross streets between fifth and lex?

Management says "YEAAAAAH" if you're a real R/S tenant. Management says "NAYYYYYY" if you're paying $3000-$4000 for your dump.

This confirms once again that "doesn't care" is the standard operating procedure around here. I really won't get into what I saw today. Let's just say I would be furious otherwise. But this place just doesn't care. Management, PS.... They care enough if you trouble them, but otherwise the only thing they care about is that the money gets paid by the tenants. The higher the rent, the better. Pride in one's work--forget about it!

    ReplyDelete
  18. 2:24, All of the buildings are full of students and transients. I used to hate the name Sty Town, but it really fits this place now, because it is a true pigsty.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Then Blackshit, stone should put ll the student dorms on specific floors, lower floors and those dumbfucks can annoy each other and not the rest of us.

    ReplyDelete
  20. And again and again.... If I were Blackstone, I would monitor all the PCVST blogs and take action on every bitching session because I would not want my tenants to bitch. I would demand that my property is up to the best standards and would take active part in correcting things--like composting, the laundry and recycle areas, the absence or "look the way" of PS, the dog shit around the property, the speeding bicycles around the Oval, the PCVST trucks illegally parked on the loop road--everything. I would not talk excuses, but I would make sure all the laws are enforced. Why is this so difficult? Otherwise, tenants will naturally think that "minor involvement" is on purpose and that management doesn't really give a damn. Or else the situations just can't be handled.

    ReplyDelete
  21. but 50% of people walking through with dogs don't live in stuy or pc. every day i see women from 2nd avenue, side streets near gristedes i know from ps 40 , dd school who are hanging out here and walking dogs. No one cares Str, why should we.

  24. The maintenance worker in my building was complaining to me that the new compost bins are either empty or filled with dog shit.
He said it was a joke. If even a tiny fraction of each building's residents used the stupid bins they would be brimming and overflowing. Instead they are empty, filled with old newspapers, or doggy do galore!
    Another Blacksuck success story!

  27. This place hasn't changed one bit. These new garbage recycle bins are really stupid,
and mine smells really bad, like rotten fish, meat etc. These people are brainless around here. It's really the same old story, no matter what new owner takes over. it's always more of the S.O.S. They promise soo much, and nothing gets done. I don't care any more either. DON'T CARE! I've never felt like this before, but I do now.

  30. More Bull from Dan our Man:

    >>Dear Friend,

After weeks of advocacy, including my December 22nd op-ed in the Daily News, the security apparatus on 56th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues is finally being adjusted. As of this morning, this block near Trump Tower will once again be open to thru-traffic. This change will normalize commercial activity on the block and ensure that small businesses on 56th Street will not become a casualty of the Trump presidency. Regular garbage pickup and deliveries are restored. And for our seniors and individuals with disabilities who depend on a curbside drop off, they can once again patronize 56th Street.

This is a big win, just in time for the New Year. 56th Street is open for business.

My best wishes this holiday season.

    Sincerely,

    Dan<<

Yeah, all those seniors and people with disabilities who would like to be dropped off at 56th and 5th!

This "lawyer" does not do full disclosure, she does consulting work for the Greenmarket so she is actually Management posting on a tenants advocacy FB page. I could say other things about her as well but I blocked this pompous ass on FB a long time ago. Who wants to bet the “other” one also has a Management connection as well.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Look at the amount of trash and environmental damage that Management generates with it's constant renovations of the constantly churning apartments; the shithole Five Turd Cafe and ice rink, the wear and tear on the infrastructure and demand on electricity and water by having the apartments occupied by many more people than they were intended for. I know people used to raise families in these apartments, but electric usage was limited because you couldn't plug in a toaster and an iron without blowing the fuses! Children grew up and moved out, but the apartments are now perpetually occupied by hoards of utilities-guzzling kidults who have no respect for the property or anybody else who lives here.

These pathetic displays of "Good Citizenship" by Management are as ludicrous as they are hypocritical.

    ReplyDelete
  43. >>This "lawyer" does not do full disclosure,<<

Positive spin is the name of this game.

    ReplyDelete
  44. 6:22 PM, I don't think the TA FB page is a tenants' advocacy page. It may purport to be, but it is not. I don't think the "other" lady is part of Management (though you never know!), I think she is just an annoying Pollyanna, but harmless and well-meaning. The "attorney" is, indeed, a pompous, condescending ass.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Dan proclaims himself a champion for small businesses, seniors and the disabled - "small businesses on 56th Street will not become a casualty of the Trump presidency." ... "our seniors and individuals with disabilities who depend on a curbside drop off, they can once again patronize 56th Street."

"This guy is either stupid or thinks we are."

    -----
Dan's not stupid. He doesn't think we are, nor does he care so long as he can maintain his false narrative.

Hey Dan. We are a casualty of your unconstitutional 3rd term (Bloomberg's 4th).

Blackstone could never resurrect and successfully realize Speyer's failed STPCV vision without essential assistance from you and your puppet TA Board betraying all your neighbors/constituents. You killed the historic STPCV middle class community, a special place you've lived your entire life in. The worst thing is that it didn't have to end like this.

REBNY/Wall Street predators offer their dirty, filthy $$$$$ demanding EVERYTHING. Their dirty, filthy $$$$$ does not come without strings. you took it. After that, REBNY/Wall Street predators owned you individually and collectively. A politician taking dirty, filthy $$$$$ from predators cannot (at least not privately) say "No!" or "Absolutely Not!" or "Never!" to them. You could not possibly serve the REBNY/Wall Street predators owning you and at the same time honestly serve their targeted prey, us, your STPCV neighbors/constituents electing you specifically to defend us against REBNY/Wall Street predators targeting us. Predators want EVERYTHING. They pay their dirty, filthy $$$$$ for dirty, filthy results delivering EVERYTHING thy demand. They do not compromise, but they will help a dishonest politician taking their $$$$$ pretend they did. They do not pay dirty, filthy $$$$$ for an honest political balancing test enabling an honest politician to honestly claim they achieved an honest compromise resulting in a Win! Win! result for every party involved, but they will help a dishonest politician taking their dirty, filthy $$$$$ falsely claim they did.

After Speyer, STPCV should have been off limits radioactive to REBNY/Wall Street predators. The predators should have been afraid to approach honest politicians claiming to defend our middle class community and our homes against them. Dirty, filthy, predatory $$$$$ changes everything. Politicians cannot take it without becoming dirty themselves. They cannot mix with filth without becoming filthy themselves.

Hey Dan. We trusted you. Withholding your honest services from us doomed our middle class community and delivered our homes right back into the claws of REBNY/Wall Street predators. Your failure to honestly serve your lifelong PCVST neighbors/constituents, who elected you to defend them against REBNY/Wall Street predators, is a primary direct cause of the obliteration of this historic, special place. That is your legacy Dan.

Actually Dan, you were owned by REBNY/Wall Street predators before your 1st term ended. Prove me wrong. Let your neighbors/constituents review 60+ proposals your recommended Wall Street predatory advisor Moelis rejected before recommending your puppet TA Board enter into a business partnership with REBNY predator Brookfield proposing a phony tenant led purchase delivering EVERYTHING to Brookfield and NOTHING for STPCV tenants. Let your neighbors/constituents review the TA Board-Brookfield partnership agreement stipulating all party's material contributions and all party's benefit distributions. That information should have been shared with us five years ago. It was your secrecy that killed the Brookfield condo scam. 25,000 STPCV residents could never support a proposal they knew nothing about. Shed light. Show us your honest, good intentions.

    ReplyDelete
  46. What he/she said. You just have to take a look around, or look at the photos I present, to know what has happened here. This is not a victory for Dan, the TA, or "affordable" housing. Really, they (Dan and the TA) should be ashamed of themselves. But they are not.

    ReplyDelete
  47. >>I don't think the TA FB page is a tenants' advocacy page.<<

Some of the "bitchers" are; the others, particularly the official page, forget about it.

    ReplyDelete
  48. We are newer tenants but from our experience here thus far, we won't refer our friends to rent here. Not even with the signing bonus. Very disappointed. Our child is kept awake nightly by noise and now is sick.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I see that on the current rent insert they have an upcoming program at the Community Center called "Preparing for Home Care" Info table. Are they trying to encourage seniors to go into residential care or is this something else? It's no secret that they are just salivating with the anticipation that every senior in a real RS unit will drop dead or go into a nursing home. The Death Team is always at the ready. Are they trying now to nudge seniors out the door by encouraging them to go into home care? Makes a change from the Rob Speyer method of illegal eviction and putting grandma on the street with her belongings. May that bastard meet his due fate one day.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Another gem from that "annoying Pollyanna" at the TA FB page:

"I am thankful that our complex has a new owner which has brought stability to our community and they are spending money on improving the place including the composting which is very forward thinking."

Ya think she's pushing to be Rei Moya's assistant?

    ReplyDelete
  51. >>I see that on the current rent insert they have an upcoming program at the Community Center called "Preparing for Home Care" Info table. Are they trying to encourage seniors to go into residential care or is this something else?<<

You're right! I checked and sure enough they have an info table for "Successfully Preparing for Home Care"! They also have "Medication Safety Tips for Seniors," which can be "Don't Take Them!" Just joking, of course. But that info table....

    ReplyDelete
  52. Another bit from that insert is that decaying leaves will be composted. Of course, the smell of piled decayed leaves, which happens on our building, is revolting. "With your help" we can do it!!! Ms. Compost will love this!

  58. I hate it when they get into the
    "Affordable Housing" crap and infer
that the market rate tenants are subsidizing the real RS. When MetLife ran this place it turned a profit and carried no debt. When the BenMoishe MetLife sold it to Tishman Speyer for a ludicrous sum of money that TS couldn't or wouldn't pay the property became saddled with debt.
Hey Market Raters: what you are paying to live in this [now] shithole is to subsidize Rob Speyer and his filthy buddies at Blackrock.
DON'T EVER FORGET THAT AND DO NOT

  61. It takes a lot to shock an old fart like me but lo and behold today took the cake.
I was walking on the Oval to admire the faux Christmas tree when a guy walking ( being pulled by?? ) TWO pit bulls came up to the tree. The two beasts alternately squated down and deposited their massive loads in neat, heaping piles not more than ten feet from the base of the tree. Without batting an eye or exhibiting the slightest bit of embarrassment, the owner said, "Good girls!" and proceeded to walk away. I guess he was leaving his presents by the manger. As he trotted away, I called out,
"Ho. ho, ho and a Merry Christmas to you and your lovely canines". He looked at me like I was insane. Who knows maybe I am. But I still have a modicum of class. Used to be quite common around here. No more. How sad.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Enjoyed a few nice, quiet days and nights in my apartment while my cretin neighbors went back to their respective flyover states for the holidays. Sadly, they've returned now. But I think the end is in sight. Not too long ago, I was treated to a screaming match in the early morning hours--something about one of them "hooking up" with the other's whatever. It was great!

  67. >>I was walking on the Oval to admire the faux Christmas tree<<

Speaking of which... Wasn't there a real Christmas tree once, and wasn't the Oval Fountain area filled with Christmas displays? I know we now pride ourselves on sustainability (despite everything that Blackstone does that is NOT sustainable) but doesn't this lack of Christmas ornamentation say something about this property? Like, eh, it has gone downhill despite the spin?

    ReplyDelete
  68. Of course, let me mention that I was out last night (well, when it got dark) and there was no PS presence and the bicycles were flying around the Oval. This is common: No PS presence except once in a while and the bicycles going round the Oval very freely.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Perfect: A guy with an expandable leash (obviously drawn out pretty far) while he is occupied on his cellphone, oblivious to what goes around him. This is the demographic this place is interested in. Too bad he is not on a scooter or a bike. Would be more than perfect then.

  73. STR- some of your commenters are fiction writers. The post 9:33 pm about a guy with two pit bull dogs crapping 10 feet from the base of the Christmas tree in the Oval: BS! The Christmas tree is in the Oval behind fences. You can't walk a dog by the tree.

    ReplyDelete
  74. That's a possibility which is why I take responsibility for what is mine--on the front page. I was over at the area the other day to see if I could spot any "deposits." All I can say is that there was something which looked cleaned up, but things looked okay otherwise, so I can't validate the claim.

But the tree is fake, and there are hardly any Christmas decorations (aside from the fake tree and the manger, none). I myself have seen dogs inside the Oval Fountain area. Were there pit bulls there? Well, I have also seen pit bulls being walked around the Oval. (With zero stoppage by PS, who are generally not around.) I myself did not think the writer meant right at the manger, but outside and nearby, which you can certainly accomplish without going over the fence.

  77. We've had a fake tree in ST Oval for eons. There was a brief time during Rose Associates era they decorated the real tree by the white police booth but everyone complained how wimpy it looked. This current tree is too symmetrical artificial looking but still nice. Removing some of the black fencing would improve scenic value of photos taken there. Happy new Year STR!
