I could have missed it, but aside from an initial letter of regret from Management, I think the issue of three suicides happening here since the turn of the new year has officially quieted down. See nothing, do nothing.
I realize that the families may want to keep the suicides away from the news, but the possibility that someone may have committed suicide because they couldn't take it anymore (yes, here in Stuy Town) should be mentioned, as well as what to do if you are in a psychological place where doing away with the life you have been given is a real option. There are many causes for a suicide. Suicides should not be limited to a post in a week, and then life goes on.
Having said that, one of the suicides, a NYU student, created a problem for neighboring residents, and one roommate had to go to the hospital because of the toxic nature of the suicide. These things can happen, but there was no follow up by the local newspaper, Town & Village, nor was anything more said by Management. Again, I could have missed it, but I didn't see this latest news or an inquiry that would have given more solid information to the residents of this community.
That said, I have seen Public Safety officers walking around the property much more than before. But I have not seen the lanyard rule for dogs obeyed. So far, I have not seen a non-resident escorted off the property with his or her dog, a policy that has been in place for two years! If fact, I have seen many non-resident dog walkers inside the property, casually walking and passing by a PS officer who does and says nothing.
We also learn that packages and mail have gone missing. There is a notice from PS about this very problem. Lobby doors are permanently left open by movers, and "piggy-backing" someone who has a key car is known. People who are not supposed to be here are being let it, and some of them have intentions that are not charming.
We also learn that AirBnb is happening in this community. I sympathize with people who cannot afford these rents and must use AirBnb to get by, but I have no sympathy for people who are making money for the sole purpose of doing business and little else. There are people who are setting up these businesses and lying to the leasing department to become "residents."
STR, it is interesting that you see PS officers on patrol. Perhaps you live in a different part of the property. I come home after 8 many evenings and have yet to see one anywhere. When I am out during the day I do not see them either.
ReplyDeleteMore remorse over Easter Egg hunt snafu.
ReplyDeleteYou didn’t miss anything, and actually management never sent anything out about the suicides, they just made a statement for their local publication, T&V. The only thing they officially sent out was the email about the social worker at 300 First Ave at the bottom of a weekly email, but no mention of the suicides.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you expect? They hushed up on the rape/attempted murder, hockey stick attack, and a ton of other criminal acts that are highlighted on the Citizen app. They squash any story they don’t want being highly publicized, whether it’s by having Peter Stuyvesant block a post or shut down a comment thread, or the T&V not reporting on the names and locations of these criminals.
One last thing. I notice that the ebikes no longer speed through the oval, which is nice. The unfortunate part is that they speed through every other path now at a more reckless pace than before, just because they are avoiding the enforcement area - the oval. They need to expand their enforcement, otherwise their oval enforcement is completely pointless. I guess the easy things are a problem for a management team that can’t get an Easter egg hunt right!
Re: the suicide involving sulfuric acid, not just the room mate, but fire fighters were hurt during as a result of the deceased person's actions. We deserve to know a bit more about this. If this happened "off campus" the press would be all over it, but for some strange reason very little that goes on here is reported by the press. I mean negative stuff is not reported. Attempted murders, rapes, muggings, drug deals, suicides. They all happen here, but there is practically nothing in the mainstream NYC press. The UK Daily Mail may get the story (can't think how or why), and there may be a short blurb in either the News or Post. Next to zero in T&V (but that's to be expected), but when such things happen off the property, on the City streets, at other housing complexes, etc., the mainstream press covers it.
ReplyDeleteI don't want to know the gruesome details about the suicides, but I would like to know a lot more than we have been told because these things affect all of us. The kid who killed himself with sulfuric acid could have taken out many people with him if the EMTs, HazMat crews, etc., hadn't got here as fast as they did. Why did he do it? Were there any warning signs? Are there other equally disturbed time-bomb students living here? Was there any terrorism motive involved? Did he want to kill others? We need answers to these questions.
As to the poor old lady who jumped out the window. Was she sick, cold, suffering from dementia? Was Management harassing her? Why did she do it? Did she give any signs or symptoms that were ignored? What did her neighbors know as to her state of mind? Nobody just gets up in the morning and says to themselves "I think I'll jump out the window this morning." Something leads up to that fatal decision and sometimes (not always) early intervention can prevent that decision from being made. We are our brothers and sisters keepers to some extent and the MYOB philosophy sometimes means plain old indifference.
>>STR, it is interesting that you see PS officers on patrol. Perhaps you live in a different part of the property. I come home after 8 many evenings and have yet to see one anywhere. When I am out during the day I do not see them either.<<
ReplyDeleteIt depends when. I have seen, many times, the little booth at the Oval empty. Where is PS? That said, I have seen PS officers walking about, at least at 1st Ave, and one officer was even riding to this and that building--fast for me, so I don't know what he was seeing.
>>As to the poor old lady who jumped out the window. Was she sick, cold, suffering from dementia? Was Management harassing her?<<
ReplyDeleteExactly. We don't know.
Shame on them for making that video last December. The suicides tell the truth of how it is to live here.
ReplyDeleteSulphuric acid is one of the ingredients found in crystal meth. One has to wonder what was going on inside that apartment.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the hush up over the student suicide is their attempt to cover the fact that this place is chock full of forms and students. As if people don’t know. I guarantee a lot of unsavory business is going on in these dorms.

That is an important fact and a dangerous hazardous living condition to leave out. The entire building could blow up with those types of illegal businesses operating here. Where is the TA? Where is the management condemning this and assuring the rest of the residents that management is on top of this, making sure it is not going on in any other dorms? Of course the logical question is where is the NYPD but nobody in StuyTown holds their breath for NYPD to keep us safe.
Nothing in Town * Village newspaper about sulphuric acid being one of the ingredients in making crystal meth. A real newspaper would have covered that. they are looking more like a mouthpiece paper for Real Estate then a real newspaper

CB Richard Ellis

Mr and Mrs Mayor
CBRE CB Richard Ellis, StuyTown broker for MetLife Tishman Speyer deal that Dan Garodnick is pictured sitting next to at the gala is in the drug business. Drugs and real estate are making money from the legalization of marijuana in a real estate boom.
Blackstone is in the marijuana - drug business
"Alan Gold was chief executive of BioMed Realty Trust, which leased out space to life sciences companies, until it was sold to the private equity titan Blackstone for $8 billion in 2015. Now he is a co-founder of Innovative Industrial Properties, a real estate investment trust that buys buildings, renovates them and leases out space to medical marijuana growers.
The company went public on the New York Stock Exchange last year and is valued at roughly $60 million, down about 10 percent since it began trading. “We’re really the first cannabis-related I.P.O.,” Mr. Gold said.
The largest property in Mr. Gold’s portfolio is a 127,000-square-foot facility — a space more than twice as large as the White House — outside New York City. The building can handle both a large-scale growing operation and facilities to refine marijuana buds into edible products, and Mr. Gold is planning to open similar sites around the country.
“It’s a way for us to invest in this industry on a national basis,” he said."
Legalization of marijuana is about making the Blackstones and CBRE real estate of the world richer.
StuyTown is a drug den. From a middle class community to a drug den brought to you by CBRE and Blackstone.
That quote is laughable, “It’s a way for us to invest in this industry on a national basis,” with the desperately obvious and fumbling other thing wanting to be invested in on a national basis "Bill De Blasio" who gave StuyTown to the largest marijuana drug dealer in the country instead of to his constituents for home ownership.
Blackstone is in the potent and lucrative cannabis oils business. According to some in the NYPD the Mayor of New York City is a rumored big toker who built a taller fence-wall around Gracie mansion to hide behind. Building fence-walls is another thing Bill De Blasio has in common with President Trump along with both of them having gushing admiration for lower east side slumlord Jared Kushner. The Mayor also has something in common with Blackstone, not getting proper permits from DOB for construction and the fence is a very big joke.
These articles are worth reading to see big tokers Mr and Mrs Mayor, see who is making big buck with marijuana drug operations CB Richard Ellis, Keller Willams, and Blackstone.
CB Richard Ellis, Keller Williams and Blackstone are marijuana drug dealers and Mr and Mrs Mayor are rumored tokers. That is the direction city hall is driving New York City. UP IN SMOKE.

"For the bulk of his tenure, New York City mayor Bill de Blasio has been dogged by rumors that he and his wife consume marijuana with some frequency. Yesterday, at a press conference in Brooklyn, he told a Daily Caller reporter that “I haven’t smoked marijuana since I was at NYU” and denied he ever smoked weed at Gracie Mansion, the official residence of the mayor. We’ve asked about these rumors ourselves. It’s worth highlighting, however, who exactly is spreading them: The mayor’s security detail and their colleagues in the New York City Police Department."

Here’s the thing with Rick and his team... they don’t want to hear the truth and criticisms. They claim they do, with their stupid surveys, but they don’t. Peter W. shoots down pretty much every Yelp comment, saying that the reviewer has had the opposite experience of so many others (straight up calling that reviewer a liar).
ReplyDeleteThey also don’t take seriously the criticisms on this website, the TA Facebook page, and the T&V comments, because if they did, we would see at least some changes and actions being taken.
They only want to hear from the cheerleaders who praise them, and we all know those cheerleaders only praise Rick because they feel dumb for paying ridiculously high rents.

ReplyDeleteThank you! You proved my point. See nothing, do nothing.

ReplyDeleteIf a suicidal maniac cooking crystal meth was living in the apartment next to you, I bet your reaction would be different. You would want to know what the hell was going on. You know what, people on here were neighbors of that kid and we don’t know a damn thing. My lawyer is getting the information from Blackstone (not SPS).
As for the older woman, I’m ok with not knowing more than the short blurb that was published.
"Other than being nosy, you do not need to know."
ReplyDeleteDo not need to know what? The reason the TA will not open its books? Why was sulphuric acid in the NYU kid's apartment? Why did the old lady kill herself? How many meth factories are operating on the property?
I think we every right to know the answer to those questions and you need to know the difference between being nosey and being concerned for one's safety and what nefarious business is going on here. There's a difference between minding your own business when appropriate and keeping your head up your ass. The latter is what Management and the TA wants you to do.
11:42 is either management or a TA board member. No normal person would want to be kept in the dark regarding issues that affect our livelihood, and sulfuric acid and TA malfeasance affect said livelihood.
ReplyDeleteWell said, 12:55 PM. I hope you will share with us anything your lawyer finds out from Blackrock. We sure as hell are not going to get any information from Management. I am extremely disturbed to know that someone was keeping sulphuric acid on the property and I want to know why. I also want to know what Management intends to do to make sure this does not happen again. If the guy wanted to kill himself, he had no business risking the lives of others. If he was addicted to meth, he probably had a fried brain. I want to know what Management plans to do to prevent this from happening again. The dorm apartments should be inspected on a regular basis. They should have an RA who keeps an eye on them. Better yet, they should not be here at all.
ReplyDeleteWhy the hell would people want to move in here with their families, or move in to live peacefully and pursue a career in the City? This place is a filthy, dangerous unsupervised dorm/transient/AirbnB SHITHOLE.
If I'm reading some of these comments correctly, some of you are saying this troubled person was making meth? Sad. This was a suicide, something a lot of us can't wrap our minds around. Use some of the energy you have in this blog to go help people in bad spots in their lives .
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to any student accidents or bad publicity relating to the dorm demo here, Management of course will hush it up. They like to downplay the exploding dorm demo here, calling this a diverse community. We do deserve to know more about this accident for I fear it will happen again in the future. They have rented without any discretion and guidelines and at this point you don’t know who is living here.
ReplyDeleteMeth Town
ReplyDeleteRick, the man who’s all talk, no action. Saw the weekly email where he talks about the door decorations. On my floor there were 5 apartments that had door decorations up, and we all got little slips under our doors that they had to be removed. 3 doors have said screw you to Rick and his warnings, and you know what management has done? Yup, nothing!
ReplyDeleteThese are three different groups of people, and all have gone unscathed up to this point - one old lady in an original RS apartment, one long term market rate family, and one group of students in a platinum apartment.
Like with the dog lanyards, it’s a case where they say there is enforcement, but everyone sees and knows the truth. I would prefer Rick to be a jerk and stickler for the rules than this appeasing attitude who picks and chooses what things to enforce.
>>This was a suicide, something a lot of us can't wrap our minds around.<<
ReplyDeleteUnless you are fairly new to life, suicides are something people can relate to, even in a sympathetic way.
Having been "around the block" a few times, I have to note that a poster (not just here) can be smiling as he or she starts a flame war. Just a caution....
ReplyDeleteI agree that these form apartments should be supervised or inspected. Some of them are likely to have illegal numbers of tenants, no carpeting, illegal pot, filth, and who knows what. I have no objection to management inspecting apartments on a regular basis. That being said, they would probably just look the other way when they see violations. The students and transients are their money makers
ReplyDelete"If I'm reading some of these comments correctly, some of you are saying this troubled person was making meth? Sad. This was a suicide, something a lot of us can't wrap our minds around. Use some of the energy you have in this blog to go help people in bad spots in their lives ."
ReplyDeleteSomebody in his apartment was making meth. If you want to kill yourself, there are plenty of methods that don't involve sulfuric acid and the endangerment of your room mates, neighbors and the first responders. If you live in an apartment that has sulfuric acid on the premises, either you or somebody in the apartment is making meth. Management wants to gloss over this and not address it openly. I think the residents of 451 should file a lawsuit against Management for renting to people who keep such a dangerous chemical on the premises. It was no thanks to anybody but Good Fortune that nobody else was killed. It could very well happen again if Management doesn't step up to the plate and raise its standards as to who it rents to and conduct regular inspections of the dorm apartments.
I warn everybody I meet not to ever even THINK of renting here and to spread the word. This is an unsupervised, nasty, dangerous dorm and we have virtually no Security - except virtual security by way of unwatched cameras. Blackstone is destroying this place and Rick is a totally inept poor apology of a CEO.
Maybe if there was a meth factory in his building, endangering the lives of his family, he would get his head out of his ass and wake up. But maybe not. He just wants to be liked.
Maybe the kid who killed himself was not cooking meth. Maybe somebody else brought that chemical into the apartment and he decided to use it to kill himself. I can't imagine why anybody would bring such a dangerous chemical into an apartment. None of us can, and that is why we would like some answers to our questions from Management. Just because they are giving us the silent treatment, doesn't mean we won't stop asking or probing. Some things are a matter of public record and can be found if you know where to look. The Office of the Medical Examiner is one place to start. Every death has to be recorded.
ReplyDeleteA very recent review posted on Yelp:
ReplyDeleteMove in with caution.
Stuytown seems like a dream--nice open spaces and large spacious rooms. The reality is horrible customer service and theft.
I have had four packages stolen from my door at Stuytown. Each time, the security office has been incredibly helpful and kind. The resident office, however, treats me with disdain and cruelty. The office is filled with some of the most short and curt people I have ever had the displeasure of meeting.
Furthermore, why is theft such a HUGE issue in the apartment buildings? The first time I had a package stolen (worth more than $600), the security manager said "welcome to StuyTown" and added it is all too common and there is nothing to be done. Oval package services are not much better as they have lost numerous packages and are staffed by bored, careless teens. I stopped paying them after six months of disappointment.
Beyond that the leasing office is full of liars. I had a disastrous move in as they lied about the renovation of the apartment repeatedly and I moved in to a completely different apartment than on my lease. The office acted as though this was somehow my fault and lied to cover themselves. The only useful and compassionate person on the entire property is Cole in New Resident Services. Unfortunately you can only work with him directly your first month.
I have lived in many apartments in Manhattan and this is by far the worse. Terrible management, loud apartments with no insulation, and resident services filled with rude individuals. My year at Stuytown has been the worst apartment experience of my life.
I have to laugh at management’s response to the thief taking packages. This was published in that management rag T&V. They say not to let in anyone unfamiliar. What a joke. Nobody is familiar. So many lowlifes moving in and out you just do not know anymore. And all of those negative reviews on Yelp do not affect management one lick. They continue to fill these apartments with students, Airbnb, and yes city subsidized. They can care less.
ReplyDelete'Some things are a matter of public record and can be found if you know where to look. The Office of the Medical Examiner is one place to start. Every death has to be recorded.'
ReplyDeleteAbsolute bullshit. Unless you have authority to look into such records you cannot go snooping. Don't you think that boy's family deserve some peace and privacy. If there was something criminal going on in that apartment, the NYPD will be handling it. Oh, and they don't have to inform anybody except those who have a legal right to know. And that wouldn't be anybody on this forum.
Reading thru the Yelp posts and its a joke that almost every poster complains about noise on the Stuytown Pcv property yet management does nothing.

ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, one incident had others involved negatively, so, sorry, but residents have a right to know something other than the "official" and very limited word from Management, who, it seems from the evidence (and your word is part of that evidence, thank you), just want to sell this place. It is not a case of "snooping" if one's life or the lives of one's neighbors can be involved. I can tag with you all day on this, but I know I am right.
Sometimes this place is like a hellhole. Of course, I am exaggerating, but seen and heard before 8AM this morning: Two piles and smears of dog crap in--what?--a walk of no more than five minutes inside Stuyvesant Town. One of those official STPCV vehicles heading the opposite way in the "island" opposite the stories on 1st Avenue. The rapid and noisy disappearance of the buildings along 1st Avenue between 17th and 18 Streets, to be replaced by--?
ReplyDeleteGolub Notices ARE Back!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo!
Two people have gotten them in my building in the last week!
One individual has an out-of-state driver license, the other has a second home outside of New York City. Management claims this person did not spend 183 days here last year. Complete BS! This is just an attempt to grab two rent-stabilized apartments from some older folks.
Both individuals vote here, pay their taxes here and are 100% legit.

BECAUSE THE TENANT ASSOCIATION AND THE POLITICIANS ARE DIRTY AND THEY MADE A DIRTY DEAL
Sometimes this place is like a hellhole.
ReplyDeleteBECAUSE THE LANDLORDS ARE WELL KNOWN FRAUDS AND PREDATORS
Why hasn't the local city council informed the public with details of the development on First Avenue between 17th and 18? Oh right, because he was the lobbyist for Donald Trump's Soho Grand and when you work for the developers you keep secrets from your constituents. Big fail there Powers. You are off to a bad start even outdoing the biggest constituent-deceiver & failure Garodnick.
ReplyDeleteI know a family that lives on the same floor as the sulphuric acid suicide kid, and all the residents on that floor have gotten together to file a lawsuit against Blackstone/SPS/NYU. I’m not sure if those parties have been served paperwork yet, or if the legal team (two of the tenants on that floor) is still prepping everything.
ReplyDeleteThey will get all the information that is being discussed, and they will disclose everything permitted within the law, unless money is exchanged and a confidentiality agreement is signed, which is certainly a possibility.
>>What say you, wise, all-knowing STR?<<
ReplyDeleteLet me head to play LOTTO right now!
If the Golub notices are back, after the TA and Garodnick pushed this deal, they should all go to hell.
ReplyDeleteI WISH I had a meth lab in the apartment next door to me. It would smell better than the chef who lives there and runs a catering company from his apartment. In the morning, I smell fish. In the afternoon, I smell fish. At night, you guessed it, I smell fish. I think he specializes in fish. Or, maybe, he trains seals. I haven't ruled that out because, in addition to the stench of fish, it sounds like a non-stop WWF match over there. I don't eat fish. Does fish need tenderizing like beef? Could he be whipping his mother load of mackerels on the walls? I'm leaning towards seals.
ReplyDelete10:53 AM: THANK YOU for that information! Please keep us informed to the extent you can. I'm sure Blackstone will try to intimidate them out of the lawsuit and, if that fails, try to buy them off.
ReplyDelete9:59 AM: You are saying that Keith Powers lobbied for Trump? Thanks for the info. I am so glad I didn't vote for him. Lobbyists are dirty. Lobbying is like a form of prostitution - favors for money. The lobbyists who work for RE clients are like hookers with syphilis. Anybody who deals with them is either just as dirty or will become that dirty. Several people I know did not vote for him because he was so annoyingly aggressive when he was campaigning, even setting up his stand illegally close to the voting station.
You cannot run a catering business out of their stuy or PcV rental. Report that shit.

Mostly I'm in constant awareness now about the manners of tenants here. My brother lives under a family of 3 or 4 in a one bedroom for past 6 years.. The upstairs guy bought no carpets and refuses to buy rugs. They are not poor and they are not young, students millenniels. they all run amok, heels, kids, cats, pets. They are the rudest fuckers and cheap as all ffucking hell as they won't spend a few dollars for a rug or two. Blows the fucking mind at the level of lowlives that live here now.
ReplyDeleteWhere would anyone get sulphuric acid? Unbelievable that someone would have it in their apartment. I can't think of any good reason for having such stuff on the premises. I wonder if the guy bought it specifically for the purpose of killing himself? Unbelievable what goes on here. Dorm/hotel/airbnb shithole. Anyone who moves in here (and pays the kind of rents they're asking) needs to have their head examined.
ReplyDeleteManagement put up signs in the buildings “not to let in strangers. “ Absurd as most of the tenants here are strangers. Are they kidding, to put that up in this community if students and transients. You might as well say close the door behind you.
ReplyDelete“You don’t have to know every little detail of what went on; you don’t have to have your curiosity satiated. These are the darkest moments of their life...."
ReplyDeleteI don't understand. Is someone saying that they need to know "every little detail"? Please respond. I am very curious.
5:41 PM: all Management does is put up signs. I think that makes them covered legally if anything bad happens. All they care about is covering their asses. They have absolutely no interest in actually protecting tenants or enforcing any of their rules. The rules are not worth the paper they are written on if they are not enforced.
ReplyDelete3:05 PM: has Management responded to any complaints? I guess not. Again, it's just a case of having rules on paper. Enforcement isn't even considered.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the overkill signage is to cover themselves in case of lawsuits. This management is extremely astute in that area.
ReplyDeleteYou can be as loud as you want at any hour you want here! woot woot Game on.
ReplyDeleteA Nearby dog won't stop barking. Do we have to endure this?
ReplyDeleteNo wonder so many people kill themselves here. The noise and sleeplessness can drive you to it.

Ahhh... a DeBlasio corruption article with the picture being in Stuy Town. How fitting!
ReplyDeleteI think I also see our esteemed TA President in the pic too. Total corruption in this photo!!

Grateful to this blog and whomever keeps it we will stay far away when we return to the city this summer. For all there are many wonderful apartments now to be had in manhattan and prices have dropped.

Keep us informed. Pretty soon, I will have to officially ask questions, and if I get no response.... Well, we shall see.
Holy moly why dont susan respond?
ReplyDelete3:55 PM, that's not Ms. Steinberg in the photograph. She probably was in the vicinity, but that is not her.
ReplyDelete"Holy moly why dont susan respond?"
ReplyDeleteBecause she and her cohorts are busy shredding documents and deleting emails! You might need a court order to get what you are looking for. Clearly, there is something to hide. If there wasn't, their records would be in the public domain, where they should be.
Completely agree with 11:04. At this point if we do see any documents from the TA, I will have a very hard time believing them as authentic. Why else would they be non-responsive to numerous requests to see documents that should be public?
ReplyDeleteI’m also beginning to believe that maybe the documents aren’t even there. Did they purposely not document anything to avoid what they knew would eventually come? There still should be financials though, I think.

Thank you. We need this!
Thank you for posting the sleazy DEBLASIO and CAPALINO article and the STUYTOWN photo. Those two are as corrupt as they come between Rivington and StuyTown and this September sleazy meeting Capalino & Co has to be the most unlawful, morally bankrupt firm in existence. DEBLASIO would do anything to anyone for $
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe that residents still pay dues to that corrupt, ineffective, entity they call a TA. Despicable. It is obvious that this entity or whatever it is works in tandem with Blackstone.
ReplyDeleteWhen Robert Mueller has finished with Trump, et al., he'll start working on probing the TA. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLooks like our pal John Sheehy isn’t going anywhere! As if we didn’t know the fix was already in. All 10 paying members of the TA will probably vote for Sheehy, because he’s “ethical.”
ReplyDeletehttps://www.stpcvta.org/ta_board_of_directors_election_announcement
Seriously, if he gets voted back in then I have serious concerns about the people that live here that voted this crook back in.
Shelly Silver, of the infamous three men in a room, is back on trial next week. That man single-handedly left the lower east side vacant for 30 years during the many stop and starts of the demolition of StuyTown for luxury hotel towers throughout the 1990's and 2000's. Silver's boondoggle folly of the Low Line is an embarassment second only to the Taconic give away of the lower east side. They better get dirty rotten Silver behind bars this time around and for a good long time.
ReplyDeletethe lottery apartments are $3500 and up. Is that a joke?
ReplyDeleteAny further word on the golub notices? If it is in fact true, I will be curious to see the TA response. They fought them back when Tishman came in, but they had some teeth back then. Now they probably don’t want to ruffle management’s feathers, so they will just remain silent.
ReplyDeleteAlso, everyone needs to remember that although the owner has changed, the legal counsel is the same person that Tishman brought in to wreak havoc on this place. People should be afraid if our new “benevolent” owner (as per Dan and the TA) is using the same tactics used by Tishman, with the same vile character nonetheless.
The tenant association and councilman Dan never fought the golub notices. They got themselves some pr press articles and made some statements about themselves making it look like they fought the golub notices but there was never any real tenant association effort or muscle in the fight against the golub notices. It is all appearances with these phonies. There is not one example of the tenant association fighting for a tenant against a golub notice let alone the thousands of golub notices. Not one victory and not one example of even a fight. Not one example of taking on a city agency demanding protection for tenants from the predatory liars and thieves. But there are a lot of press pr articles where Dan and the tenant association make statements in the news to make it look like they are fighting the golub harassment.

What's the problem, Susan Steinberg?
Again, I ain't going away.
I will continue to post updates on the number of days Susan and the Tenants Association continue to IGNORE their legal responsibilities.
It is no coincidence that the news coverage of the corruption with Capalino & Co lobbyists and Mayor De Blasio uses photos in StuyTown. The Sheehy story in Town & Village is just another lie. Dirty and corrupt as ever Capalino & Co and Mayor De Blasio are behind the demolition and development of Peter Cooper Village that was supposed to happen but Capalino & Co, the Mayor and his administration and city employees who are tenants in StuyTown and the tenants who are on the Tenant Association board, and the partnerships with the developers including Brookfield who is building the towers in Hudson Yards and the old WTC failed in their "tireless work for years" of schemes to make it happen. Once the books are opened, the names and years of schemes will be revealed including the schemes by that same Tishman legal counsel creep with city employees.
ReplyDelete11:55 AM, your post would be easier to read and comprehend if you didn't write in one long, breathless stream. Because of the lack of punctuation and pauses, I had to read your post a couple of times in order to make sense of it. Others might not bother.
ReplyDeleteWalked around Playground 3 this evening, and noticed that EVERY single tree pit had MULTIPLE piles of dog shit in it. Unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteHey management, ever hear of “broken windows”? Once people see that others obviously aren’t picking up, they will assume it’s OK to do the same. Why should I clean up if nobody else is? If you’re not going to enforce the rules, deal with the consequences, and have Maintenance out there with a bag and shovel daily.
Gonna be real nice sitting on the benches there on the warm days to come, flanked on all sides by piles of rotting dog shit.
"Gonna be real nice sitting on the benches there on the warm days to come, flanked on all sides by piles of rotting dog shit."
ReplyDeleteYup! And all the flies that it will attract.
April 14, 2018 - night . . .
ReplyDeleteIt WAS a warm day and there were swarms and infestations of jackasses of varying ages on the violated, tormented Oval grass all goddamned day.
Ugly, stupid, self-important, noisy assholes of the student variety, the family variety, the don't-belong-here variety, the exhibitionist variety, the "let's throw around hard round objects that are dangerous" variety (no guards interfering, of course), undoubtedly I saw herds of booze-swilling creeps (their plastic cups clearly held something other than water or soda).
I cannot ever walk near my home (near the Oval) once the human garbage comes out in droves and is there for months.
My eyes, ears, entire body and mind are filled with their ugliness. The birds and squirrels have to go flying or running away. Hell, the earth worms probably wriggle away from the noise and disturbance.
WE NEED THE OVAL BACK.
April 14 at 9:38 PM: You said it! You said it beautifully! They might as well pave over the Oval and turn it into a car park. The Oval is dead and gone. It's history. I miss the Oval terribly and I wish those who destroyed it a long time in the hottest depths of Hell!
