A New Tenants Organization

https://stuytowntenantsadvocacy.blogspot.com/

A "David" at this point. But it will get bigger. No dues. And, for now, no comments there, please. Some of us wish to remain anonymous.

I am doing its blog chores, but my personal page and the comments and photos will stand and continue. But this "David" is there, too. Just bookmark it.

50 comments:

  1. Yay! We need a new TA and I would happily pay dues. The existing one is no longer viable as a TA.

    Just asking.
    Either way - Good Luck

  6. Came home at the tail end of that concert. It was deafening. When I got home it was deafening in the apartment. There couldn’t have been more than 30 or 40 there.

The concept of an embryonic online advocacy vehicle potentially developing into a full fledged, transparent, legitimate TA organization supported by actual dues paying members is brilliant.

Anticipate anonymous support and harsh troll attacks.

  8. well, I am cautiously optimistic....
as others have said, keith powers is useless--his staff is entirely "interns," students, with no experience in accomplishing anything and lacking even a professional phone demeanor. They say they'll talk to management, that say they'll do a lot of things, they talk a big game, they accomplish a big fat zero, and keith powers never even gets involved--the interns man the phones while he does nothing.
    Useless piece of sh!t.

  9. I would encourage anyone calling management for whatever reason to ask who you are speaking to. These people are such weirdos--they refuse to give their full names, bc they know they're involved in shady illegal crap. Laura Haluza, the paralegal working in "Legal" who is pretending to be a lawyer and gets involved in business above her level of competency and/or intelligence, refuses to give her name out when people call the office. How the hell do these weirdos get hired?? They are obviously the dregs of the applicant pool. They'll never get a job anywhere else so they hang on here for dear life.

  10. I've said before I don't find the movies to be very loud. and the concerts are annoying but tolerable, because they're limited in scope.
But I'm still sympathetic to fellow tenants who object to them--and I find these comments on the TA page baffling.
Let's be totally clear here--nowhere in new York will you find anything like this going on so close to peoples' residences. no one would put up with this shit. the cheerleaders on the TA page are lapping up the shit they get fed by management like its their job.
I was sitting in prospect park where there was a movie being shown this week--it was around the same volume as the stytown movies. in the middle of the park, obviously, far from peoples' windows. who the hell would ever accept having a movie playing RIGHT OUTSIDE THEIR WINDOW? As I've said, I don't even think the movies/concerts are the worst thing about this place--but no sane tenant would ever accept this crap from their landlord without a fight.

bottom line, this management company is getting away with murder. and its not clear to me why that is--why are all these tenants willing to roll over and take it?
If anyone is going to the media/newspapers about this, please post it here--I am willing to be quoted as well.
I am sick of this crap. we need to fight back.

  11. I agree that occasionally the sound level of the movies and concerts are “tolerable” but the one last night was not. It was deafening and really bad.

  12. At worst, this will light a fire under the current TA and get them to actually represent tenants once again (and maybe open their books!). At best, it will take offend finally render our current corrupt TA as obsolete. Tenants will finally have a voice, which we’ve been lacking for a long long time.

Should have mentioned STR has been enjoying anonymous support and enduring harsh troll attacks for quite a while.

  14. Yesterday, I spoke to the horse's mouth, so to speak, and though at first he was not blunt, in a moment he was. Yes, Blackstone knows about the infractions, but so what? What are you going to do about it?

The message was that clear and those words were not used, but that is the impression I received. So, yeah, Blackstone could be breaking some laws or not caring if they are obeyed, but so what?

Remember that a fine here or there is not going to break Blackstone's bank.

That is what we are dealing with.

    ReplyDelete
  15. As for our TA, they are indeed useless. The fight against these infractions should be front and center and not occasional photo ops with local politicians. Yes, some members post the truth on the TA Facebook (and thank you for doing that), but the TA's fall from grace is one of the big stories here.

  16. Rick schmoozing at that stupid tent yesterday wearing SNEAKERS. Once the music started yesterday, he dissappeared. Typical phony. Must have been no more than 40 people there.
Joke! NOT WORKING RICK! NOBODY CARES ABOUT YOUR PUBLIC PR STUNTS. AIN'T WORKING!

  17. Yes it was a very sparse crowd. I think as the summer progresses and it becomes more hot and humid, less and less will attend. Even the troll cheerleaders would rarher be in the AC.

  18. STR, you'd better lawyer-up (at a minimum). Blackstone and their political 'friends' (in both major parties) are capable of anything. Even assassination, which they will make to look like a "traffic accident." As Vladimir Putin would say, a "wet operation." They'd bring in the necessary 'specialists' from "outside"....

    ReplyDelete
  19. Rick is a totally ineffectual manager. Nothing but signs which state rules that are never enforced and stupid, crappy "entertainment" that only a handful of losers enjoy while thousands suffer from invasive noise from it. He really is more a cruise director than a property manager.

  21. Saw two nice young women walking around the property today. Turns out they were prospective tenants doing some in-person scouting of the property.

I told them it to come anywhere near this place. I spent 15+ minutes with them. I feel so good knowing that I saved these two women the torture they would surely face living here. Rick, do I get a referral fee???

  22. Just saw three bicycles casually riding around the Oval. AND, a sofa and uncovered mattresses on the loop near 14th Street. How nice. Don't forget Management's attitude on this.

    1. The garbage and uncovered mattress are in the loop in front of my building. Been there at least two hours, probably more. Always filth at that spot.

  23. They really need to do something about this garbage dumping in the loops . Piles of it sit out there all day long . Along with the events, this should be a major priority. I have never seen garbage dumped randomly like that at any time in the past. This management is filthy.

  24. STR, I don't think we actually have any Management at this point. The property is so scruffy and unsanitary, there couldn't possibly be anyone managing it.

Not clear how STR retaining a lawyer will prevent assassination.

This ain't Russia, but we have to wonder how many billionaire Russian oligarchs laundered their criminal ill-gotten Billion$ into USA via Black$tone's $2.7 Billion purchase acquisition funding (50%). It would not be shocking to learn Putin owns a huge chunk of PCVST, including our homes.

The remaining 50% PCVST acquisition cost - $2.7 Billion Fannie Mae purchase funding plus at least $150 Million more Black$tone subsequently sucked out of Fannie Mae - is Lying Conniving Dan Grodnick's infamous "Tenant Led Purchase." Smiling Dishonest Dan hijacked our disgraced PCVST TA Board converted into the necessary shell vehicle required to divert Fannie/Freddy Mae purchase funding BILLION$ away from PCVST residents into the "deep pockets" of our incredibly conflicted TA Board's unnecessary business partner, major REBNY predator/$25 Million Speyer investor/cheerleader Brookfield. We only recently found out via Sheehy that Brookfield's deep pockets were apparently empty, only available for GArodnick/TA Board to stuff BillionS into.

Five years later, Even More Corrupt NYC Mayor de Blasio bitch slapped Garodnick/TA Board into diverting PCVST residents' exclusive access to $2.7 Billion Fannie Mae purchase funding to a different predator bankrolling him - the world's most notorious Wall Street predator Blackstone on a rampage devouring hundreds of thousands of at-risk middle class homes on a global basis.

2009-2015 PCVST RESIDENTS DID NOT NEED A PHONY PARTNER TO OWN THE ENTIRE PCVST COMPLEX AND AFFORDABLY OWN THEIR INDIVIDUAL HOMES (IF THEY CHOSE TO). Before Speyer walked away, Schumer pledged Fannie/Freddy Mae purchase funding Billions would be dedicated for the exclusive use of PCVST residents.

Conspiring together on behalf of REBNY/Wall Street predators bankrolling them, De Blasio/Garodnick/TA Board (TA Board indirectly via Garodnick pouring $$$$$ into a TA Board nonprofit political slush fund formed by TA Boardmember Sheehy) disenfranchised PCVST residents by stripping away their exclusive access to $2.7 Billion Fannie Mae purchase funding. Lacking honest representation, PCVST residents lost EVERYTHING. For the rest of their despicable lives Garodnick, TA Board and de Blasio will falsely claim Black$tone successfully executing Speyer's horrific, failed business plan to rake in multiple billion dollar windfalls pushing the historic PCVST middle class community out of their homes is somehow a historic middle class victory.

Black$tone's plan is Speyer's Plan. It's the same plan. Speyer's plan never changed.

    Speyer won.

How did it happen? "Honest Services Fraud"

Ask Lying Conniving Dan Garodnick, Incredibly Conflicted TA Board Treasurer Sheehy and Even More Corrupt Mayor de Blasio about it. How it's done. They know. They are the experts.

  26. Air bnb abounds here. Today I saw three of the dirtiest suitcase rollers I have ever seen entering a building. Don’t like to judge people on their appearances but they really looked like they needed a good bath and hair wash. Disgusting what is going on here as Blackstone turns a blind eye.

    2. For what purpose was this written? Is this someone with the STR's best interests at heart, someone who is concerned for his safety, life and wellbeing?

    3. Why does STR need a lawyer? What laws has he broken?

    4. What is your basis for stating that Blackstone might kill someone?

  28. Blackstone & Friends WILL harass, attempt to evict, or do worse to anybody who crosses them. Anyone who thinks otherwise is naive. And Blackstone, not STR, are the ones breaking laws. But there's very little enforcement of ANY laws in this whole City at present. Anything goes.

True. They are breaking the laws. Manhattan DA Cy Vance and his father are both long time Simpson Thacher aka Blackstone long time law firm. Manhattan DA Cy Vance will do anything Blackstone wants and he will never hold Blackstone accountable for breaking any laws. Do not vote for Cy Vance!

  35. I beg to differ, at least a little, with 5:01. "Assassination," "traffic accident" and "wet work" are actionable words, constituting at the least harassment, and possibly a death threat.

New York City Police most definitely will take action upon presentation to them of a death threat received by a citizen.

That Blackstone, various politicians, possibly real estate thugs (pardon me, I meant "businessmen"), some other "business" types, and other severely emotionally ill and morally bankrupt humans would commit violence if they believed their "wealth" or prestige or power over others was being challenged is a matter for debate . . . perhaps. Perhaps not.

De Blasio, Garodnick and TA Board publicly congratulate themselves proclaiming Blackstone owning PCVST successfully executing Speyer's failed business plan raking in multiple billion dollar windfalls pushing the historic PCVST middle class community out of their PCVST homes is somehow a historic middle class victory. They engineered the deal. They literally guaranteed Blackstone success in writing.

That is the real shame, but then corrupt elected officials betraying their constituents don't feel shame.

No poster on this blog has less credibility than that corrupt, dishonest triumvirate.

That said, linking de Blasio, Garodnick and TA Board with a Blackstone conspiracy to assassinate STR has no credibility.

  41. When will the new "TA" be up and running and accessible?

    ReplyDelete
  42. I hope the new Tenants Advocacy Organization gets off the ground and has some savvy members who know how to get things done. I will gladly pay any membership dues if that happens. Wouldn't mind paying a few hundred dollars a year if it was an organization nth at really get the illegal activities of management dealt with. It will be a tough battle because the corrupt TA is owned by Management as are our corrupt and vile politicians. DeBlasio, Powers, Epstein, et al are as corrupt as the day is long and will never do anything but more damage. They are ALL as corrupt as Sheldon Silver - maybe even more so.

    ReplyDelete
  43. De Blasio’s part in the deal included a certain number of city subsidized apartments. As much as they say that they don’t exist, I am quite sure they do, one right next door to me.

It should be accessible right now as "read only." Let me know if it isn't.
