Our landlord, BLACKSTONE, can't handle Stuy Town and Peter Cooper Village. There is a lack of enforcement of certain "rules," and no amount of notice to this alleviates the problems. We are continually being told half-truths and fabrications. And we have no viable Tenants organization, despite our TA asking for dues all the time. So far, the politicians have proven to be basically useless. A typical New York story.

Rise and Shine!
Photo taken this morning....
And a blast from the past (not that long ago, either):
This is so disgusting and they get away with it. It also shows that an increasing number of people living in these apartments are transients. Probably the only things in the apartments are mattresses and a chair.
The new advocacy group for tenants (as opposed to transients and others whom I will not publicly insult by describing them) will be operational when, please?
Why can’t Hayduk add a warning about unwrapped mattresses and garbage dumping on his inane leaflet of events that comes with the rent. I guess he doesn’t want to offend his main demo here, the dorm and transient slobs. Unbelievable how they tolerate this filth.

I like the valuable info you provide for your articles. I will bookmark your blog and test again here regularly. I am rather certain I'll learn many new stuff right right here! Best of luck for the following!
They are deliberately running this place as a slum. NYCHA property looks cleaner and better kept. In fact, on the outside it looks very much like the projects. However, you don't see mattresses and garbage strewn all over the grounds of NYCHA projects. It is getting really squalid here and I believe it is deliberate. I just can't figure out why they are doing it. I'm sure the reasoning behind the deliberate trashing of the grounds is as squalid as the appearance of StuyTown. I'm embarrassed to live here.
Don’t think that it is exactly deliberate. They want the sky high rents and the only way to get them is to rent to students, Airbnb, and transients. The slum like conditions are a consequence which they choose to ignore, as long as they can collect those high rents.
Management really should check the IDs of people attending the events because there are a lot of children living here and several Registered Sex Offenders living nearby. Check the Sex Offender Registry.
Did we ever learn anything about the guy who killed himself and endangered the lives of an entire building-full of people (and injured rescue workers)? Sulfuric acid is the stuff used for acid attacks on people, so who knows what the occupants of that apartment were up to.

Right now it is read only. But operational in a way.
Just posting photos and reading complaints will not lead to change. It is necessary to send these photos to local politicians. That might not affect change either, but at least it is more than just reading a blog. I do like the blog, but I just feel that it is not useful in affecting change at this point. I do send my photos out.

ReplyDeleteThe cheerleader trolls can use those dirty uncovered mattresses on their Adirondack chairs as they watch the film tomorrow evening.
ReplyDeleteThe new problem is Uber drivers (any form of driver) pissing all over the property.
ReplyDeleteMORE PEACE AND QUIET
ReplyDeletea very sick joke. So hilarious Rick.
BTW, those mattresses are still there. After 2 pm.
ReplyDeleteNot surprised

ReplyDeleteMattresses and garbage piled high and not a peep out of the Blackstone Tenant Association.
ReplyDeleteWhat tenants association. It doesn’t exist
DeleteWilbur Ross is running dorms in the (supposedly former) Brookfield Partnership apartments.

ReplyDeleteI feel the same way.

Not understanding how this reflects a new TA.
