Woke Up This Morning and What Did I See?

Rainy weather. Overflowing garbage area inside (nothing new, of course), and drizzly, wet weather outside. The mattresses outside must be damp by now. Yeech!

Those three mattresses look kinda familiar. No, it can't be. Maybe around the corner, it will be different...

  1. Hope you are sending these photos to our local politicians. It is a waste to send them to Hayduk because he really doesn’t care. Maybe even the health department.

  2. I can’t believe the responses of that Peter guy to negative reviews of the property. When tenants cite students taking over, he responds with the benefits of a diverse community including all ages. He also cites management’s efforts towards a clean community. This guy is a joke.

  3. >>I can’t believe the responses of that Peter guy to negative reviews of the property.<<

He has to be creative. I know all the guys at Management personally, having met them in the past. In defense of Blackstone and their reps, they have to speak the party line. We, the residents, know the truth, but that is not the mission of the reps at Management.

  4. No STR, they don’t have to speak the party line, they CHOOSE to speak the party line, which tells me every one of them cares more about the paycheck than the people that live here. There are plenty of other jobs out there doing plenty of other things, and they CHOOSE this profession. It takes a special type of lowlife to do what they do.

Also, check out the Instagram page. Some guys wrote a song about moving out of Stuy Town and management is gushing like never before. The guys neglect to include the daily mattress dump, sulfuric acid and the bike riding bonanza in their song.

  5. Anyone notice the absolute silence from “Peter Stuyvesant” as people continue to question MCI’s. Steinberg should be embarrassed. Thankfully we seem to have another option taking shape!

  6. I am not counting on another option any time soon.

  7. Shame on you, STR.
Every cloud has a silver lining.
Don't you realize those mattresses are an "amenity"?
When the Oval concerts blare and disturb our legally entitled peace and quiet, the 20 or 30-so clods who attend these third-rate, abrasive and abusive "events" will now have a place to recline and enjoy the noise.
The bedbugs and love stains on the damp mattresses are an extra special treat.
Can an MCI be far behind?
    Lol!

  8. WHAT A FILTHY FUCKING DUMP!!!!! I don't see the rationale behind letting Stytown sink to such a low level. Am distributing these photographs far and wide. I just can't believe that Blackstone is allowing the property to become a slum, because it most certainly is a slum at this point. Glad we will be moving out soon. I will keep these photographs and tell everybody about the time I lived in a Blackstone Blackstone Hell in NYC!

  9. There is no real rationale in letting the property become a dump. It is a simple cause and effect relationship. Blackstone can’t rent overpriced apartments to decent families and professionals. They fill them with students, transients, Airbnb, etc. Property deteriorates as they don’t enforce sanitation or other rules. They continue to collect ridiculously high rents and just let it flow. Property continues to be inhabited by a lowlife demo moving in and out.

  10. You can see the filth on those mattresses! Even the drunks and junkies who congregate outside of Papaya and Duane Reade, McDonalds, etc wouldn't touch some of those with a ten-foot pole!

I think the Health Department should issue fines to this totally inept, lazy and criminally useless "Management."

    1. They will pay them and the dumping will continue.

  11. I have a buddy who is a NYCHA facility manager and I told him to take a look at this website and do a comparison to what he sees in the pics to what he sees on a daily basis at NYCHA properties.

He said it’s not even a close comparison. He said the garbage seen in the Stuy Town pictures would never be allowed in NYCHA. He admitted their infrastructure sucksand their insides don’t look anywhere near as good as ours, but they don’t let their grounds get out of hand.

He said this is one of two things:
    - Tenants who just don’t give a damn
    - Management doesn’t give a damn or they don’t have any viable thoughts in their collective brains on how to combat the mess.

    1. Part of the problem is the unbelievably large amount of move ins and out on a daily basis. We know this is due to the fact that they have to fill the overpriced apartments with transient tenants. That is their bread and butter and if the grounds reflect it, so be it.

  12. True that Management doesn't give a damn. They rent to transients and students who have no interest or pride in the property and they reflect the attitude of this cowboy management.

  13. And it goes without saying, but let me say it anyway. It wasn't like this years ago.

  14. And everything was predicted. No surprise. Just disappointment.

  15. Any idea why there is a jerk with a guitar singing badly on oval playground right now? Is it a birthday party or management event? Just terrible. With concerts tonight that’s a full day of noise I didn’t buy a ticket for. Hope it rains tonight.

  16. People wanted to give Rick and Blackstone a chance, but anyone who did even the smallest bit of research knew what Blackstone was going to do based on their history of owning and managing properties. Nothing was ever going to be different here, but again, people fell for it because Garodnick and Steinberg said it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Their silence since then is deafening.

What’s even worse is that there are still people giving Rick a chance. Rick and team will continue to destroy this place, brick by brick, wall by wall, pipe by pipe, but hey that’s all ok as long as we have movies and concerts on the oval.

  17. The garbage dumping is from the dorms. Alain Kaloyeros was found guilty of corruption. Surely his corruption extends into the SUNY dorms in Peter Cooper Village Stuyvesant Town that the tenant association allows to operate here with no opposition. The tenant association never opposed the dorms. The tenant association has not gotten a single result for tenants since the Tishman takeover. Not one result in 12 years. They spent all of their time and all of their money and it is a lot of money wasted on a project with Fred Knapp. The same Fred Knapp who Tishman brought in to clear out tenants with accusations of illegal use of their apartment like if they had an apartment in Peter Cooper Village and a multi-million dollar house in the Hamptons...Oh wait, that's the tenant association treasurer Sheehy. Knapp let him slide, but thousands of tenants were harassed with false complaints from Knapp. No matter, the tenant association again supported Knapp gushing heaps of gratitude on him and McClellan in 2016.

From 2006 to 2016 the tenant association achieved zero results for tenants and now we all know why. The tenant association was working with Fred Knapp.

Tell us all about it tenant association. Tell us about your work with Fred Knapp. Because the results we see are trash and garbage piles, law broken, harassment, intimidation, noise pollution, overcrowded, junk food in the laundry rooms, transient neighbors, AirBNB hotels, tourists with rolling luggage, cheap plastic fixtures, still no explanation on the hockey stick crimes probably by hotel guests, bed bugs throughout, three suicides this year, security system cameras used for anything other than safety of residents thus the ten minute rape, well the security system is used for tracking targeted tenants and ooogling bikini babes so there is that....

The tenant association is a shameful disgrace at best but more likely it is much worse than that.

    Stay tuned....

  22. Headlining the show tonight: Ricky and The Cheerleaders. Class act.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Are the tickets to Rick and cheerleaders refundable? Gonna want money back for this act.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I wonder if the cheerleaders are paid-up members of the TA? Even their membership doesn't amount to more than a handful of tenants. Where does the TA get its money? They do NOTHING for the tenants, so they must be bought and paid for by Managemnt or politicians.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Anyone who pays TA dues now is just throwing money away or giving it to management. This so called organization needs to be officially disbanded, website and all.

    ReplyDelete
  26. The TA got boatloads of money from Garodnick via the City Council funds (aka taxpayer dollars). We are talking close to $100k over a 3-4 year period. They also received half of the unsettled Roberts money (the other half went to a worthy cause - Peter Stuyvesant Little League).

These criminals at the TA have received so much money with absolutely ZERO TRANSPARENCY that I’m amazed the board is not yet in prison. One day very soon I hope.

Also, this is all public information. Just do a quick google search regarding city council discretionary funding.

  27. Today the 14th St Loop looked especially disgusting. Dirty mattress right on the sidewalk and fire hydrant crowded with move out junk. This gets worse and worse. A real slum.

That seems to be the point of the Fred Knapp timeline

2007 Tishman Speyer Jerry and Rob Speyer hire Fred Knapp to clear out tenants
2016 Tenant Association President gives loads of gratitude to Fred Knapp whiloe admitting working closely with Fred Knapp

In between these two articles where the Tenant Association admits working closely with Fred Knapp and Bill McClellan

The Tenant Association achieves zero results for tenants on any of the many quality of life, safety, security, harassment issues
The Tenant Association gets headlines for themselves in the press with words but..
The Tenant Association takes no actions to back up their words opposing the golub harassment, construction harassment, dorm parties, commercial amenities in residential zones, and so on
The Tenant Association testifies with words at city council Airbnb hearing who is giving the Tenant Association gobs of money but says nothing about the hundreds hotels advertised or the hotel caught in the Tenant Association Board member building on 16th and First Avenue
The Tenant Association takes hundreds of thousand from the City Council and spends it on ????

Fred Knapp takes actions against tenants (apparently working with Tenant Association President Marsh) and achieves record breaking results that reap a windfall of $600 million for Compass Rock Fortress CW.

    https://www.wsj.com/articles/stuyvesant-town-how-one-firm-is-reaping-a-windfall-where-investors-lost-billions-1446546780

The point seems to be that the Tenant Association deliberately achieved zero results for tenants, took zero actions at behest of tenants, and worked with Fred Knapp who reaped a windfall in the hundreds of millions for Compass Rock Fortress CW.

  30. Want to see exactly how much management cares about garbage being thrown everywhere?? Look no further than their Instagram page!! They made a monster cartoon sitting on a sofa that is thrown on the side of the loop road.

How demented are they?? Instead of getting a truck there to pick it up, they take photos of the ratty sofa for a quick Monday morning Instagram post.
