These first four photos were taken yesterday. The fourth one shows glass in the debris. I heard a crunch sound when a car went over it.
Below is the 20th Street Loop, closer to 1st Ave.
Further long the loop:
Below: Workers are making new rooms in the one of floors above. This is how the elevator looks. Sorry for the fuzzy pic. Dirt all around and the padding smells. But you know that.
In the morning, a sight I frequently see. The refuse picked up is a lot, so that the back has to be opened and the remaining refuse has to "ride" this way, with the back fully opened and "something" trying to hold in the refuse. In another world, a manager would say, "Make two trips." But, no.
I appreciate your efforts in posting these horrendous photos of the filth here, but it is for naught. Management can care less. The politicians are not acting . I have long term resident friends who only kvell about the pretty fountains and Adirondack chairs. They ignore the rest.
ReplyDeleteRick should be embarrassed and ashamed, but he’s not. An evil man doing the work of an evil company.
ReplyDeleteWhere is Powers in all of this? The guy who ran on the platform of being a community man. What a sham he is. Our corrupt politicians let all of this harm on their watches. Vote them all out when the time comes.
I have sent photos to Councilman Powers’ office of the filthy loops and sparse event attendance. So far no action.
DeleteNO COMMENT!
ReplyDeleteThe local politicians talk a good game about meeting with management over our QOL issues, but seem to put up their hands and say that there is nothing they can do. I will not vote for them if things do not improve around here.
ReplyDeleteAnd who is going to do anything about this, huh? My place I call home!
ReplyDeleteYeah, not my 'Yob' (Job) Man!
ReplyDeleteRegarding Powers and Epstein:
ReplyDeleteAs I posted some time back, after meeting with Powers, along with two other constituents/residents back on June 5th, and being promised nonsense; and after speaking repeatedly with his intern staffers, and once on the phone with him; and after several conversations with Epstein staffers, and one fairly distressing one with him,
I WAS INFORMED, BY BOTH OF THEM (POWERS and EPSTEIN): NOTHING DOING! NO HELP!
There is no suspense here. OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS DON'T GIVE A DAMN. I FRANKLY AM NOT SURE HOW "ELECTED" EITHER THEY, OR ANYONE ELSE IS.
This is Stand Up and Fight!
"Vote them all out...." "I will not vote for them if things do not improve...." Were you people foolish enough to vote for Powers the last times (primary and/or general election)? It was perfectly obvious even back then (not so long ago) what kind of person he really was/is.
ReplyDelete>>Regarding Powers and Epstein:<<
ReplyDeleteI saw Powers walking toward the loop area where an uncovered mattresses was going to stare him in the face. Did he call it in? I don't think so.
Maybe we should form a citizen Neighborhood Watch google doc (similar to the TA bedbug registry) and folks can open it up on their mobile device and log the date and location and their sightings of debris, mess, bulk dumping.
ReplyDeleteWhat would that do? Management doesn’t care and neither do the local politicians.
Delete** 1975 NYC GARBAGE strike”
ReplyDeleteWe are approaching the garbage apocalypse. This continued disregard for open waste will lead to disease and air borne illness. Plagues were started this way due to rodent and human waste. I think we have real concerns that aren’t being taken seriously here, TA , or any NYC agency. I’ve sent a message to Albany. How are you helping us save our home from this attack of lethargy and bacteria???
I’m inclined to stock up on tinned soup (oxtail) and other dry savory snacks. Hearing this has me worried about mine and my children’s safety. We are all in grave danger from this. On a lighter note, is that little pink stroller still there?
Delete** 1975 NYC GARBAGE STRIKE**
DeleteFounder member Brook Byers of venture capalist Kleiner Perkins recently funded a study of dangerous pathogens swabs in Manhattan. They discovered in our neighborhood bubonic plague and 8 influenza viruses. When this was shared with the Gov and they mayor, it was dismissed as impossible.
The uncovered mattresses breed harmful disease and pathogens. It is proven and on public record. Why wouldn’t the owners of our communities be concerned??? With climate change, it will only provide a better environment for harmful bacteria. Instead of fixing the problem of waste breeding grounds, they are turning their gaze from the obvious. THEY DINT CARE ABOUT THE DANAGE THEY ARE CAUSING TO US AND FUTURE GENERATIONS.
9:29. You can photograph and record until kingdom come and it will not do any good.
ReplyDeleteA new low:
ReplyDeleteI saw a RAT scurrying in the carriage room.
Any surprise given the garbage strewn about.
And when I say a RAT I do not not mean Rick Hyduk, Susan Steinberg or the Tenants Association thieves.
I literally mean a RAT.
Unbelievable!
>>You can photograph and record until kingdom come and it will not do any good.<<
ReplyDeleteGood is relative, as most things are these days. You do realize that ST Report is linked elsewhere? And even on Wikipedia?
That may be so, but I have only seen an increase in the garbage dumping and events. I stand by my statement that posting these photos is ineffective. What good have you seen coming out if this?
DeleteThat may be so, but I have only seen an increase in the garbage dumping and events. I stand by my statement that posting these photos is ineffective. What good have you seen coming out if this?
DeleteFor the first time in the many decades that I have lived here, I recently saw a live mouse in my Carriage Room. And that’s despite all the traps they have set out to catch them. I chalk this up to the INCONSIDERATE PIGS that now live in my building who recycle dirty plastic containers THAT STILL HAVE FOOD IN THEM. I guess these pigs were raised by other pigs who don’t know or care about good hygiene practices or being considerate neighbor. I HATE living with all these pigs!
ReplyDelete>> What good have you seen coming out if this?<<
ReplyDeleteI have no way of knowing. But the photos will continue as long as the dumping of uncovered mattresses continues.
I think everyone has given up on correcting this ugly situation and simply do not care about anything anymore. I'll tell you one thing, once I close close my apartment door, I do not care anymore as well. I'm done.
ReplyDeletePlease continue posting images of overnight furniture dumpings.
ReplyDeleteThese images provide daily visual proof of the massive quantity of unidentified transients moving every night in/out of the tiny cubbyholes they temporarily cram themselves into like sardines inside former PCVST residential apartments transformed by Blackstone into chopped up dormitory housing and illegal hotels.
Don't blame Just Call Rick doing his job.
Blackstone Sucks!
"I think everyone has given up on correcting this ugly situation and simply do not care about anything anymore. I'll tell you one thing, once I close close my apartment door, I do not care anymore as well. I'm done."
ReplyDeleteSame here. As far as I'm concerned, I pay rent to live in my apartment and I try to block out the rest of this filthy dump. I send my laundry out and ALL my garbage goes down the chute (except for glass). I seldom have any reason to go to the carriage rooms - only for glass disposal and to put out the occasional large cardboard box.
As for pigs living here, I believe that pigs are much cleaner than what we have living here and running this filthy hellhole.
I agree.
DeleteT&V has given ample coverage to the people bitching and whining about the squirrels (dangerous wild animals that stare at people and may have nipped a kid or two when Mom was looking at iPhone and kid got too close), but there is never any coverage of the filth that is dumped all over the property and is photographed by STR and a few other people. There is more danger to human life from the discarded, filthy mattresses that are strewn around the property, the dollops of dog shit and the verminous students who leave vomit, shit, piss and condoms in the public areas of the buildings.
ReplyDeleteSome of the most vocal anti-squirrel idiots are tenants who own bull terriers, which are supposed to be banned from the property, along with many other breeds, such as pitbulls, bulldogs, german shepherds, etc. I've even seen a fucking rotweiler being walked on the property.
Go to Hell you idiots who are so willing to complain about non-violent critters like squirrels, but will bring your nasty, dangerous dogs onto the property. Go to Hell Management who has turned this place into a sewer and Go to Hell students who leave their body fluids all over the stairwells! Gimme the squirrels any time.
I've thrown up the white flag.
ReplyDeleteRick is a puppet. At the oval taking note. It's embarrassing.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you 1:49. I love my apartment and am thankfully not around here all that much. I have sent photos to Councilman Powers’ office ( of the filthy loops and sparse event attendance) and nothing is being done. I have read on this blog that Hayduk says it is out of his control which is bull.. I really am done too.
ReplyDelete>>On a lighter note, is that little pink stroller still there?<<
ReplyDeleteNo, it's gone.
>>T&V has given ample coverage to the people bitching and whining about the squirrels (dangerous wild animals that stare at people and may have nipped a kid or two when Mom was looking at iPhone and kid got too close), but there is never any coverage of the filth that is dumped all over the property and is photographed by STR and a few other people.<<
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine if there were photos like these in T & V? Some change would surely come.
I doubt it would matter. T&V is nothing but a local rag which now appears to represent management. Not sure why you think this would affect any change.
DeleteNo change is coming as long as we are under these owners. T&V can post photos galore and we can send them to Powers and Epstein. These owners could care less and they are in control.
ReplyDelete"I have read on this blog that Hayduk says it is out of his control which is bull.. I really am done too."
ReplyDeleteIf Hayduk says he has no control, then he is clearly totally unfit for the job he is being paid for. He should pack up his family and leave. Probably Blackstone can find him a job running a resort or juice bar or something that would not be too taxing on his obviously meagre talents.
I will say this again. Regarding our "good neighbor" policy, which this Management is so in love with, does a "good neighbor" do nothing when a neighbor has deep problems on 14th Street? No one is saying that the construction of the subway extension is the responsibility of Management. No one. But there is a "good neighbor" policy, and from what I know the disruption of the 2nd Avenue subway (thank you, Dan Garodnick) rents were lowered for the people affected. How about Management doing something proactive about this noise and filth and disruption, as a "good neighbor"?
ReplyDeleteRegarding some of the changes here, Management and Blackstone are delighted, even if residents are currently affected in a negative way. Think of this: With the opening of ST and Peter Cooper Village (Management will have an open and not gated community), a lot of people will be passing through this place. Of course, if they were lower income using the Asser Levy pool, we would not allow them, as we don't. While the extra "white" bodies may cause us dismay, Management is delighted. Watch Five Stuy Cafe not care about "for residents and their guests," as they don't care about it now.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of which, the "plan" seems to be to ignore or delay enforcement of "residents and their guests." I am still waiting and waiting on the ruling from the Powers office. Coming on two months and no progress, even though Garodnick has an official ruling and letter. I think we will hear something, after the "events" have gone. What a farce.
And the "extra" bodies and income from across the street on the two new condos? Welcome to Stuy Town and Peter Cooper Village. It's open and at your disposal.
***1975 NYC GARBAGE STRIKE**
DeleteWell put STR!!
I would love to hear the plan, if any, for when the L train shits down and commuters will pass thru our property from the ferry terminal. Don’t think the hipsters won’t figure out the “shortcuts” thru our paths. As we see all over the city, commuters tend to leave by products(newspapers, cigarette butts, coffee cups, food wrappers etc). Will we get extra help for our already taxed porters and groundskeepers? I doubt it. More filthy waste brings more disease carrying vermin.
But it will be a good way for potential new tenant to get a sneak peek out quiet piece of NYC. Pigstuy cafe will need extra coffee cups when the hipsters find out about that little tomaine palace.
ALL OF BROOKLYN WILL BE SOON HANGING PASSING THROUGH THE OVAL WHEN THE L SHUTS DOWN. DISGUSTING.
ReplyDeleteHey, why send that advertising truck to Brooklyn when you'll have Brooklyn come to you? Blackstone and Management are just waiting for this, with big smiles on their faces.
ReplyDeleteGo back to the old days and use the carriage rooms for discards. Out of sight out of mind. BTW I do not break down my boxes. Thank You NOT!
ReplyDeleteThe PigStuy Town "advertising" truck with its glass windows reminds me of the brothels in the Red Light District of Amsterdam.
ReplyDeleteInstead of ladies of the evening behind the glass, we have Blackstone and Management in a mobile cat house.
Funny if it weren't so sad.
All we need is a Rick and Susan mannequin and it would be perfect!
I accidentally deleted a comment about wondering what many emergency vehicles were doing at 14th and First. I'll try to find out. Sorry for the error.
ReplyDeleteNicely laid fresh pile of steaming dog turd on the Oval this morning.
ReplyDelete9:00AM.
Get your camera out, STR.
By the size of the droppings either a Great Dane or a wooly mammoth...lol.
Another "amenity", huh, Rick?
LOL. I try to be merciful with some of my photos.
ReplyDeleteAs far as emergency vehicles, nothing is there now.
Those massive piles of dog shit make nice, soft, comfy cusions for the dozen or so idiots who turn out for the concerts and movies on the Oval.
ReplyDeleteNew helpful tip posted by Mismanagement on the lobby bulletin boards Friday:
ReplyDeleteRun You’re (sic) A/C, Help Your Apt!
Really? Aside from the degree of illiteracy that would make Trump’s twitter feed green with envy, the issue seems to be that the humid weather is making the “upgraded” apartment’s paint start to crack and the floor boards pop. I’ve seen my share of cracking paint, but popping floors are a new one to me.
The remedy? Run your (or is it you’re?) air conditioner 24/7, even if you’re (or is it your?) not home. Waste of energy resources? Think of the poor flooring!
Oval lawn full of biting mosquitoes
ReplyDeleteFollow the usual TA advice. E-mail Hayduk. LOL
DeleteThey are such total assholes running this place that they could fill the Proctology Hall of Fame. What a total fuck-up the current "Property Manager" is!
ReplyDeleteyou know whats really the SHIT here? 4 and more people living in a one bedroom apartment rental. It's actually quite sad and the normal other people have to deal with living next to and underneath 4 and five fucking people. Those 4 or 5 sharing one bathroom one kitchen and a few closets. Really shit living.
ReplyDeleteThe TA just sent out another one of its "Public Pledge" forms, requiring tenants to either be with them or not. The threat is that not not being with them means not benefiting from any benefits won by them in their challenges to Management. Is this legal? Surely, there isn't any way they can deprive tenants of any benefits in the very unlikely event they should win any concessions/victories regarding MCIs.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a manipulative, threatening and highly illegal document that the TA has mailed to all tenants. Any legal eagles in this group who could comment on it? STR, did you receive this document, along with a yellow bulletin. Yellow is a good color for the "Tenants Association."
Not paying dues anymore. They can send all the bulletins they want.
DeleteWas just thinking...
ReplyDeleteRemember when there were at least 3 or 4 maintenence guys working here who spent their entire day walking around the property with those spiked poles and hefty bags, picking up every single cigarette butt, gum wrapper, or any other little piece of trash they could find?
Man, oh man, Bill Potter must be spinning in his grave...
Got my yearly TA mailing/newsletter, which includes their infamous "choose one" letter regarding legal representation from this group of frauds. I wish a lawyer would step in here and speak to the legality of this document the TA sends out. People need to be reassured that they don't need to agree to what the TA is stating, and that they will still have rights as a rent stabilized tenant.
ReplyDeleteI know there are board members that have a shred of decency that read this blog, but the fact that they don't speak up against what the TA is doing just shows me that they are complicit. These are the people that can start the process of riding the TA of the "old guard" that has failed us for the better part of the last decade. They are the ones that allow for this to continue.
Dearest Rick: Would it be possible to inquire if there is anything but crepe type paper between upstairs neighbor and us? I'm concerned someone may fall through due to the fact I hear their every step and sounds. This has gotta be the worst built building in new york.
ReplyDeleteJust got my rent statement with the Community Update insert. I don't know what the aerial photograph on the front of it has to do with PCVST.
ReplyDeleteAs for the TA's bulletin and it's ominous Pledge, it sounds like something a dirty, conniving ex-lawyer such as their thieving Treasurer, might put out. It has no legality whatsoever and is just a way of trying to scare people into parting with $50 for membership in this dubious organization. If I thought they could (or would) actually do something good for us, I would send in my subscription immediately and maybe add a few extra bucks donation. Unfortunately, the TA has done absolutely fuck-all for the tenants of this deteriorating, once beautiful, property and confronts Management about absolutely nothing concerning the quality of life horrors we have to endure. Tenants have to fight on their own. Some tenants are living in absolutely hellish conditions on 14th Street, due to the MTA work and Rick has said he has no interest in trying to get a barrier wall installed to buffet some of the noise and filth. Rick doesn't give a flying fuck about anything that goes on here and I don't know what he even does anymore. I think he hates the place and hates the tenants too. That's ok, but he should pack up and go back to Florida - or anywhere that is not here!
The TA will never step in to offer any kind of help or support to tenants living in Hell. We must endure noise, filth, and vile living conditions and deal with it all ourselves. I'm betting that if Steinberg or Creepy Marsh were living near a toxic pit with 24/7 noise and filth, they would be very vocal and active about it.
The only function of the TA these days is to promote their favorite politicians (and there has to be something in it for them apart from photo ops) and the rest of us can just suffer.
There is a heavily air-brushed photo of Carolyn Maloney on the TA fb right now, promoting some useless meeting she is holding. That old lady has done fuck-all good for the tenants of this property and we all know it.
625am the majority of residents can't afford the place can't afford manhattan. Better to live 4 to 6 in a 1 bed.
ReplyDeleteFirstly, I wouldn't worry your pretty little head that the TA is going to win any MCI challenges. When was the last time they even put up a good fight.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, if an MCI is found to be reversed, it is reversed as per the order, all those affected by the order. It is not just reversed for Bikini-Moma's fan club who will swear in blood their loyalty to her and the other crooks on the TA board.
Of course, for me that pledge is in the garbage now.
ReplyDeletewhy are the walls and ceilings made of crap here? Is it asbestos?
ReplyDeleteI feel like I’m a part of the movie Groundhog Day. We are right back to where we were one year ago with the TA mailing, and what has happened? Nothing!
ReplyDeleteThe TA is still the same organization it was one year ago:
- In bed with management
- Steinberg still President
- Haven’t opened up their books
- Running a FB page with no recognition of QOL issues whatsoever
- Asking us for $50 to cover what??
Again, I know there are new board members who read this blog that are now complicit in all of this, instead of rising up against the corrupt Steinberg, Sheehy, lawyers, etc.
Our eyes are now on you...
They almost make Kushner look clean!
ReplyDeleteI think this is all a result of aggressive marketing to students. Vacancy increase allowances passed under the Democrats is what makes marketing to students so profitable. So management will do nothing that makes STPCV more restrictive/less attractive for students until 2020 when j-51 benefits expire. At that time decontrol will be the name of the game and renting to students will have outlived its usefulness...unless the decontrolled apts remain vacant.
ReplyDeleteI hate to agree with the mom shaming incel keyboard jockeys who spew all over these pages. But these pictures are really gross and I'm really tired of management not being more on top of this.
ReplyDeleteMy TA mailing went straight into the junk mail bin. I was a member for decades, but now I just give extra to Tenants and Neighbors.
ReplyDeleteGiven the TA’s total failure to take on QofL issues, and their getting into bed with that self-serving sleazebag Garodnick, I can’t support them anymore. Maybe a top down overhaul could bring me back, but not holding my breath...
