Our landlord, BLACKSTONE, can't handle Stuy Town and Peter Cooper Village. There is a lack of enforcement of certain "rules," and no amount of notice to this alleviates the problems. We are continually being told half-truths and fabrications. And we have no viable Tenants organization, despite our TA asking for dues all the time. So far, the politicians have proven to be basically useless. A typical New York story.

Blackstone Should Be Embarrassed, but They Are Not
"but a few years ago, it was possible to get a good deal there. Especially if you put up a fake wall to create an extra bedroom. (Which Mitch and his friends did. They snuck in the materials into the apartment in the middle of the night, since it was technically an illegal fake wall."
Well, I saw three young girls (early college age?) with those blue vests saying "Good Neighbor" and I wonder what Blackstone has been drinking? Not once did the girls (and, yes, they were girls from my perspective) step inside the buildings they were approaching and they didn't jot down (?) the several dog shit residues they passed. This is a fail of large proportions meant to pacify?
So Blackstone’s solution is to “release the interns” while the incompetent property managers, all retained from the TS/CWC days, stay embedded in the First Ave bunker? As the one who can’t be named would say “SAD!”
Once again, where are Dan and the TA? With the compliments they are getting on facebook, you'd think that they'd be on top of this already. I thought dan and his office are great with QOL issues.
I am willing to bet that the neighbors of Kelly, Mitch and Co. were not enjoying life during their stay in the Sty. Sneaking in materials for a fake wall in the dead of night? Putting up said wall? Lots of parties? Pure hell for anybody living upstairs, downstairs or next door to these self-serving, entitled little pukes. Same goes for when they moved over to the illegal sublet in the Sty. I can only hope that eventually, when they have grown up and matured (if they ever do), they find themselves plagued by insufferable, self-centered, smug little fuckers like themselves living in close proximity to them. And I hope it hurts and that they live in a place where the so-called management doesn't give a shit about anything but pulling in counting the shekels.
They are doing what Blackstone is famous (or infamous) for doing all over the country. They are taking a formerly livable middle-class residential property and turning it into a money-spinning shit hole.
STR, what the hell was Marsh talking about with the tenant presence at the leasing office? Also, why do I feel that some TA spokesperson speaks up once anyone says something negative but factual about Garodnick. His days are numbered, and they need to start figuring out how they will survive once he's out of office.
Marsh and the TA tried to create a tenant protest in front of the leasing office and also have each tenant window display a yellow placard showing our support for the community and the TA. The attempt failed, big time.
As for Dan, I don't think he is going away. He has higher aims in political office, as his actions currently show. As a matter of fact, that is what his goal is and he is working toward it. We are small potatoes to him at this point, other than supporting him.
Last night all I could hear was the tanked up brothers coming through the property shouting at the top of their lungs, one group after another. Of course PS nowhere to be seen or heard. I wonder if they were being joined by those new "associates". Was surprised that the TA did not cut off the long thread on Dan and this dump after Marsh commented.
"It was not a working class, but rather a middle class complex, while PCV was considered upper middle class..."
You know that for a long time this place was known as a "housing project" and that nothing here was upper middle class. Sorry to burst your bubble, but this was not meant to be exclusive. I know you are probably paying a lot for it now, but you could be the sucker.
From the TA Facebook and making my eyes start to shoot blood:
"I've lived in Stuy Town the past decade, and just about every single time I check this page, images like this come to mind. This is one of the most entitled, complaint-filled, group of folks who live (in my opinion) one of the nicest complexes in the entire city."
(The photo shows soldiers in a muddy trench.)
Talk to a resident that has been here for 30 years and also has worn the uniform of a soldier. You will be set straight.
I think the point that the lady fails to see, and I salute her for her service, is that the TA is an organization that is in place to deal with the complaints of the tenants. We all know that they don't do that, but that is why they are there.
If she wants a peachy keen picture of the property, she should go to the official Stuy Town page. Over there they make everything seem like rainbows and unicorns.
A lot of police activity on the east end of the 20th St loop this morning. A number of police vehicles, cops milling about, and a guy with multiple cameras and a press pass walking around.
"From the TA Facebook and making my eyes start to shoot blood:"
I responded:
"I’m sorry, but to categorize the complaints on the heat issue as “most entitled, complaint-filled, group of folk“ is rather non empathetic at best. As has been pointed out at this thread and at others at this FB page, there are serious consequences for this issue re infants and seniors. I cannot attest to infants but for my best friend's mid-90’s mother in PCV, this is a real issue. And as someone who has two family members in active military service with recent combat experience (Afghanistan), your inclusion of your JPG attachment to prove your talking point offends me."
The low quality maintenance of the property and the property safety go hand in hand. All the problems, big and small, addressed on STR blog comments and posts go hand in hand because when a property is poorly maintained it attracts a bad element, whether dirty walkways with feces or basements with overflowing piles of recycling trash or dumped mail / packages left in lobbies to attract thieves.
When a property is well maintained it sends a signal to criminals that this is a well guarded and regarded property, which is what "Stuyvesant Town Peter Cooper Village" once was.
There are serious problems in "StuyTown" whatever they have turned "StuyTown" into NYCHA, and Dorms or whatever. "Stuyvesant Town Peter Cooper Village" was once the safest place in Manhattan to raise a family. Now "StuyTown" has serious crimes.
A while ago a young woman fights off a robber in her "StuyTown" lobby as she was coming home at 3:00 AM and now another "StuyTown" woman "in her 20's" coming home at 5:00AM:
"Stranger attempted to rape woman in Stuy Town lobby: cops"
NYCHA Properties are deliberately rundown with poor maintenance by City Hall Housing and Economic Development leading to privatization of the properties to eliminate lower income population all together.
The agency is the nation’s largest public-housing authority — and the city’s largest slumlord.
City Hall turned plaque adorned safe "Stuyvesant Town Peter Cooper Village" living in a park into today's lost plaque "StuyTown"
"Metropolitan Life president Frederick H. Ecker said of Stuyvesant Town in its initial offering that it would make it possible for generations of New Yorkers "to live in a park – to live in the country in the heart of New York."
This blog covering the removal of the plaque and the state of the property's unkept walkways, recycling basements, may seem like small problems or complaints of "entitled" tenants but they are not small or "entitled" complaints. They are insightful, factual and serious safety concerns.
>>If she wants a peachy keen picture of the property, she should go to the official Stuy Town page. Over there they make everything seem like rainbows and unicorns.<<
I've been noticing a few voices, who rarely post on the TA page, admonishing those who post on negative issues. Yeah, one can post just positive things, but post the negatives as well. Unless one thinks that everything is perfect...or one is paying a shit load of rent money and one has to present this area very favorably or else psychological trauma will set in...or one wants to get a prize (see some Yelp reviews)....
Sorry but the apologists for the Pig Stuy management undoubtedly are shills. As a long time resident I can attest to the fact that this place has gone WAY DOWN. The "bros" were having a party until 2:00AM Friday night hooting, hollering, screaming, loud, blaring music. A number of people called and complained to Security. They NEVER came. Finally party died out at 3:00AM. Went into the hallway the next morning...a pile of vomit on the floor. Nice work, Rick! Rules, rules, rules...haha
When they cut down all the trees they turned the park into a club event space. The Oval has club members only amenities and party events. Party Town is the antithesis of living in a Park.
It would be interesting to see the crime rate in Stuyvesant Town broken out by 5 year intervals (1995 - 2000, 2001-2005, 2006-2011, 2011-2016) to see how the changes made by the current and former Mayors have effected NYC. Is seems since 2000 the crime rate has increased and NYC Stuyvesant Town a lot less safe.
Rick just posted news of a sexual assault in a lobby on 20th St. Does not surprise me, a very unfortunate event but we will be seeing more and more of this. This is due to the very scarce presence of PS at night especially around the loops and the transient nature of the Sty. I see a lot of strange looking characters walking around at all times. There are some that live in my building, but I will not let them in.
When they put up signs in the elevators and lobbies on how to behave in a civilized polite manner it marked the moment they publicly admitted that the community has been filled with uncivilized or yet to be civilized residents and that the days of the 3/4 century of civilized community living was over. Lobby bulletin board and elevator signs are embarrassing, downscale living for those who moved in based on the luxury lifestyle ads. Can you imagine those fliers in the lobby and elevator of our property owner's buildings where they live!
I think Rick should resign because he is useless. His stupid notices and reminders of what people who are self-respecting adults don't need to be reminded of are very telling. This place is now a nasty, dirty dorm and is filled with low-lifes. Rick does NOTHING to improve the QOL here and that makes him a big part of the problem.
It used to be that everyone knew all their neighbors in the entire building and throughout the community. Now everyone is a temporary resident and a stranger and that is not safe. It feels like a big hotel and not at all like a community.
628 is connected to my building which is 626. This happened on the 'M' entrance. I see the area is cordoned off with blue tape.
I think you need to put this in perspective. Stuytown is still relatively safe especially considering the population density here. Take it from someone who grew up in a public housing project in the South Bronx during the 1960's and 1970's!
Safety and awareness is in my DNA from my Bronx upbringing. Many people that live here are not native New Yorkers. A little advice for women walking alone late at night or early morning hours. Take your earbuds out and put your phone away. Be aware of your surroundings especially as you're about to enter your building. Have your keycard in your hand BEFORE you enter the vestibule. If you see someone hanging in the vestibule don't go in unless of course you know the person. Call Public Safety if you see someone suspicious just hanging out directly in front of or inside the vestibule of the building.
Although many areas of New York are much safer today it is still New York so don't get complacent. Better to be safe than sorry.
I am amazed at how many people shut themselves off from the outside world with too much attention to mobile phones and both earbuds in their ears. You are just asking to be victimized. When I walk the streets of New York all my senses are open at all times. I thought so many times if I was a criminal how easy it would be to victimize a lot of the people living here today. I say this respectfully because I don't want any of you to become victims of a crime. Some common sense goes a long way. BE AWARE AND STAY SAFE!
"When they put up signs in the elevators and lobbies on how to behave in a civilized polite manner it marked the moment they publicly admitted that the community has been filled with uncivilized or yet to be civilized residents and that the days of the 3/4 century of civilized community living was over."
You nailed it. The property is crawling with kids who act like they are on permanent Spring Break. This place is a magnet for lowlifes because it is nothing more than a giant dorm with NO SUPERVISION WHATSOEVER. In a real dorm there would be enforcement of rules, but here they are free to do whatever their immature impulses dictate and there are plenty of predators will and able to take advantage of that.
The reason that you do not see PS officers patrolling the grounds is that they are all congregated in the 2 Oval headquarters and in front of the building(generally talking, smoking and bringing in food). As for Rick, he is just a PR agent for Blackstone. He is there to pacify the older residents and people that complain and from what I hear, he does a good job of that. He answers to the powers above who do not give a crap about the sty this place has become. The property is crawling with students and lowlifes. They cannot stop marketing to students because that would leave so many empty apartments. Of course they can always increase the city subsidies and make this a city housing project, but the current combination of dorms, city, and air bnb is to their liking.
3:57 PM, thank you for your thoughtful and insightful post. I see people (especially young people) walking along the street with their earbuds in and they have their heads down as they read their phones. I am sick of these morons almost walking into me! They are totally shut-off from the world around around them just as much as if they were walking in a sound-proof, opaque bubble. I stay alert for my own sake, but these morons are oblivious to everything around them and by being so oblivious they are part of the danger to others.
PS will show presence now because of the attempted rape at Stuy Town, but once the noise is over, goodbye PS. BTW, today in the afternoon the police were still at the crime scene.
It looked like the TA had a posting about the attempted assault, which I can't currently see. Although that doesn't mean it's gone (maybe it's hidden), it wouldn't surprise me if it were removed.
This is the perfect opportunity for Susan Steinberg to step to the plate and put out a statement about this. If the TA is quiet on this, it will be final nail in the coffin for them as far as I'm concerned, and will show that management hushed them.
Was the victim a resident or a "guest"? Why was she stuck in the vestibule having someone to buzz her in? If StuyTown has more "guests" than "residents" how can anyone be safe without doormen and security in each and every building like any hotel building has? Without doormen and security in each building and a large population of "guests" nobody is safe.
Per T&V
“The PCVST Public Safety Department will continue to assist NYPD with the investigation,” General Manager Rick Hayduk said in the email. “The safety and security of residents and guests of PCVST is our main concern and as such increased coverage will be dispatched. We’re further grateful for the diligent and swift work of the 13th Precinct while our thoughts continue to be with the victim.”
STR, I thought you would be right about PS having a bigger presence, but I didn't see it tonight. Just got back from a long walk through PCV with the dog where we hit all corners of the property. Not a single PS officer or car.
I also never realized how many dark areas there are in PCV. I can imagine Stuy is worse based on its size.
ABC 7 is reporting that the 17 year old suspect is from Piscataway. Since he is not from the area, I can only assume he was on the property because he was in the city visiting a friend that attends NYU and lives here and they were out partying Saturday night before the incident.
This is beginning to make sense with more info. The attacker's race is not mentioned, though it could be that he is 17. The victim was returning close to 5:00am. I know the drilled message, but be realistic. I would be, and I'm a guy who has been in the Army. If I'm returning to Stuy Town in the early morning hours, when it is still dark, and near Ave C of all places, it is not good to rely on what you hear in your student classes about being able to walk freely in NYC no matter when and what. I'm sick of this nonsense talk that invalidates reality.
>>ABC 7 is reporting that the 17 year old suspect is from Piscataway. Since he is not from the area, I can only assume he was on the property because he was in the city visiting a friend that attends NYU and lives here and they were out partying Saturday night before the incident.<<
I should follow my own advice and wait while we hear from both sides.
I accidentally was on Garodnick's twitter feed last night. I will try to hold back the excessive commentary from me, but this guy is making me see blood shooting out of my eyes. Really loathsome, but I guess it's good if you live in NYC and want to impress the people here and are desirous to take "sides" and use it to rally the folks who may vote for you. Fuck Stuy Town and affordability. We are losing our focus real fast. Watch the city build higher and higher, watch the mom and pop stores close, if they haven't already.
My other accident was to investigate the beginning of Stuy Town. I came across news items about Ike and how he was being attacked for running for office and called a "bigot." I know there is a difference, you don't have to spell it out for me, thank you, but some things do not change.
"The beating lasted for nearly 10 minutes but the woman fought back leaving the suspect with deep scratches on his chest, sources said. A male bystander interrupted the assault and the perpetrator fled from the apartment building."
>>We have a name of the perp, an “Aaron Kish, 17”.
"The beating lasted for nearly 10 minutes but the woman fought back leaving the suspect with deep scratches on his chest, sources said. A male bystander interrupted the assault and the perpetrator fled from the apartment building."<<
>>STR, what was it about Garodnick's Twitter feed that pissed you off? I looked at and it looked quite innocuous to me.<<
I will take another look and post about it on the front page, as I can't do picture files here that can't be seen without clicking on the link. To me, he is very obvious. He is angling for a higher position. Stuy Town and PCV is too small for him. It would be okay if he is fighting for this city, but he is also listening to his REBNY fans and influenced by them a lot.
That makes it clear what many have been saying on this blog that there are problems with safety since 2006 with the current Oval Security. The publicized Oval Security system is not working and the orders given to security are corporate interests above tenants interests whether it is quality of life as it pertains to all safety and security issues big and small from noise, littered basements, to robberies and rapes in the lobbies.
A call for new leadership at Oval Security who will put tenants safety and security above corporate image is a must.
Back to the initial topic of the ridiculous looking gear that Blackstone is selling. To make matters worse, I have now seen numerous employees wearing these shirts and hats. Do they honestly expect to sell this stuff if it's the same as the staff uniforms? It's like entering Target in a red polo, you are setting yourself up to get asked questions by people thinking you are an employee.
The complete lack of common sense by a company as large and prosperous as Blackstone is beyond me.
BlackRock still has key people appointed in NYS Housing Community Renewal who are in charge of the MCI charges etc. As long as Albany keeps the current comptroller, governor and attorney general, BlackRock will keep control of housing. Still it is better to individually file challenges to the MCI then to allow a weak association to lose another MCI challenge.
>>That makes it clear what many have been saying on this blog that there are problems with safety since 2006 with the current Oval Security. I didn't think about that. 10 minutes and what were the valued TV cameras doing that we are paying for? I get that after the fact these cameras were important, but for 10 minutes where were they and the person or persons responsible for monitoring them? Obviously absent. A major FAIL.
I couldn't work for Blackstone. Something is very wrong, and the powers that be do not give a fuck. Oh, if it gets to the news, they will care, and the bottom line we know about, but otherwise....
I too did not think about the 10 minutes that this was right in front of the cameras. Not only does security need a complete overhaul, the person or people that were assigned to monitor the screens at that time should be fired. A 10 minute assault with no action on the part of security is ridiculous, and one would wonder if the lady could have a case against Blackstone for this.
There is so little foot traffic at 5am, that any person that comes up on one of the monitors should be watched by security to ensure nothing happens to that person, it's called being proactive. McClellan needs to be gone for this.
“The public deserves to see where their money is going and for what purpose. Who puts the money in? Are there subcontractors? Shell companies? Be on top of that. Be wary of slush funds for council members,” Bharara told the Association of Towns of the State of New York at the Marriott Marquis in Midtown."
“Slush funds” like the one set up by the City Council nearly a decade ago should set off the alarm bells for all honest elected officials, US Attorney Preet Bharara said Monday.
Blackstone and BlackRock both have had and still have people appointed by Albany politician's to higher level positions at NYS Housing Community Renewal and the appointees are from the heads of the infamous DNC and they are the ones creating the housing crisis that exists today and oh, by the way they have been doing this to the housing market since their days all working together at HUD. The Albany cesspool began at HUD..
Not to worry, folks, PS stationed an officer nearby the M entrance of 628 E 20th all day today. I'm sure it makes nervous residents feel much safer knowing they've got the barn door locked down good...after all the horses have ran off!
Here's a tip. How about putting some boots on the ground BEFORE the next attack. If there were a visible security presence, foot patrolling the property in the wee hours, they'd likely scare off anyone up to no good. And, as a bonus, they could deal with the problem of drunken assholes shouting at the top of their lungs on their way back to their dorm rooms.
I think there is a bit more to story of the potential rape that we do not know at this point, but it doesn't give anyone the right to assault and make a rape attempt.
As to PS, aside from helping a sick person, they are not really good at much. Of course, they answer to a higher authority, which sets the tone and the rules, and it is that higher authority that should be sweating.
I feel I'm living in a Bizzaro world at times. I just checked the TA Facebook. Aside from that pinned post with the perp's hat, there is NOTHING on the incident. Not even an update. Certainly nothing about the security cameras. WAKE UP, TA! DO YOUR JOB!
I have long been noting the scarcity of PS officers patrolling the grounds after dark. If they are all clustered at the cameras(which I think they are), they certainly should have seen the rape attempt. Useless, just like the TA. I hate to be a pessimist. but I foresee such incidents in the future, especially as the transience of the community increases and the apathy of PS continues. There have been numerous times that I have sighted violations, such as dogs off leases, and there is nary a PS officer in sight.
And the student explosion continues. Yesterday the U-hauls were clogging up the loop as the crap was being moved in and out. The moving padding in my elevator reeks.
And Blackstone continues to laugh all the way to the bank.
Thanks. My mistake. On my computer you have to click on the comments to get them for this thread. Meanwhile, the suggestion (one that is) has emailing Rick about the problems.... Rick, Rick, Rick....
Edmund, I have seen the comments, and I especially like yours, but I think the real question is why the TA hasn't addressed this yet. Copying a memo from Rick about the incident is not addressing it in the least bit.
"For years. Years we all ask for more better lighting at night. What we got was flowers. Fucking trees and grass leaf blowers and flowers."
What are you talking about? They chopped down all the trees. Don't blame the trees because these bloodsucking scumwads were too cheap to install decent lighting.
My question is this: we all know that someone from the TA, and someone from management are reading this, so why is there no action? I wouldn't expect much from management regarding this blog, but the TA has 2 forums for which they could initiate action, their Facebook page, and this blog.
This blog talks about many of the same things that the TA Facebook page, and those complaints are met with dead ears in terms of the TA. I am no longer a member but I think that the small number of members still left should initiate a lawsuit to make the group more transparent, because as far as I'm concerned, there must be some real shady stuff they are trying to cover up.
>>My question is this: we all know that someone from the TA, and someone from management are reading this, so why is there no action?<<
Management doesn't want to hear anything that has negative publicity. Everyone that it influences, falls in line. Occasionally, negative publicity gets out, and then watch Blackstone (its representatives--hi, Rick!) spin the negative news so it's not as negative.
The TA? If one looks at the facts, the TA is not what it should be--to make a long story short, as the saying goes.
I'm willing to bet that we won't hear much more about this attempted assault/rape. If Blackstone is worried that she might sue them for the obvious lack of security with security monitors in place, their lawyers are probably already on top of it to make sure she keeps things quiet. Even if she makes out well, which I'm sure she will, the money will not even be remotely significant to Blackstone (it would be like a penny for us peons) and the story gets hushed up. Things will just go on as normal at the Stuy Dorm with no changes being made.
Do not worry no lights at night ok. Rock will give you a flashlight to navigate and then you punch attacker rapists with flashlight. Ok? We good. Landlord no money for lights. Busy paying for leaf moving and tulips.
What can be learned from the terrible incident which happened here is that a doorman is a true and necessary amenity. Blackstone can tout their oval concerts, cafe, etc. as amenities but they are really not. Blackstone has no business charging luxury housing rents for this dump, which is becoming increasingly unsafe.
Unless the TA becomes transparent and opens its books, only a fool would renew or join. I know of 5 people in my building who are long time members who will NOT be renewing. The TA does nothing. Their stock response to everything is Call Management...duh?
The upshot is that the 13th Precinct doesn't want to bud into the affairs of PS, so they are willing to hand over much and won't get involved until it is necessary. Obviously, the beating and attempted rape, which wasn't captured in time by our valued security system, was absent.
The 13 Precinct even gave kudos to the security presence here. But, again, our valued security and monitors were absent. Absent, too, the TA, though I will check. Perhaps they have some balls now, but chances are not.
The only way this area will change, as far as I know, is for an individual with deep pockets to sue Management. And the suit has to be genuine, and not some BS. And we have to hear about it. Bad publicity will do wonders. At least in the short term.
"The 13 Precinct even gave kudos" It comes as no surprise the 13th gave kudos to Blackstone. So far since they bought the place, StuyTown Campus security and the 13th are letting Blackstone run them, how they respond, to what they do and do not respond to, and what is said to tenants when they respond to calls to campus security and 911, and what is said to the press. It all comes down to who is in charge at campus security and who is in charge at the 13th whether they let large landlords like run their squads. Some of the older campus security are frustrated but need to keep their job.
It is very sad that the 13th Precinct is snowed under by Blackstone. Our security force here is a disgrace. All they do is sit in the patrol cars, go out for food, and talk in groups. I should know as I live in the Headquarters building and I see them out my window. What a joke, giving them kudos.
The reality is that Rick needs to do his own investigation on this. If there are cameras in the security office, which I'm assuming there are with all that equipment, he needs to see what the "officers" were doing at that time. Were they awake and paying attention?
If course this won't happen. The officers will probably get commendations from Rick, Dan, and the TA.
"I think there is a bit more to story of the potential rape that we do not know at this point, but it doesn't give anyone the right to assault and make a rape attempt."
There is a lot more to the story, STR. It was beyond "potential" rape. It was attempted rape and attempted murder. You have a judgmental tone and I hope you are not implying that maybe "she asked for it."
February 22, 2017 at 6:00 PM they think they are the only smart people on the planet because they have wallet. The politicians are no different. They believe only the very rich are smart and the rest of the population is stupid. The TA thinks they are smarter than everyone too with their condescending answers to our questions. Usually the one being condescending is the less intelligent and that has certainly been our experience in PCV and ST. Everyone who has given us condescending tone and answers to our questions proves themselves to be unintelligent.
8:57 PM Feb 22: You are so absolutely right. Management and the so-called TA talk down to us, clearly thinking we are less smart than they, when the truth is that most of us are a hell of a lot smarter than they are!
I want to keep track of that beating and attempted rape case and will go sit in at the trial to see what is said and what happens. I hope he is tried as an adult even though he is supposedly 17. If I can't get down to the courthouse every day, I'll follow it on e-Courts.
So Lionel says if you want to catch an illegal alien just order a pizza. I say if you want to catch a non 80% rug compliance offender just go to the Stuyvesant Town classifieds on Facebook. There's a jamoke selling a treadmill pictured in a non-covered room.
Catch a rug offender you say? Surely you jest, since the owners of our property dont give a rats ass about getting rugs. new tenants need not bother - stomp, clomp, scream, bounce away.

This is a couple of years old, but it is still valid. Call it "Meet Your Neighbor!"
http://kellyinthecity.com/tales-of-a-stuyvesant-town-east-village-resident-and-comfy-clothing-for-freezing-nyc-days/
Enjoy!
As per the link:
"but a few years ago, it was possible to get a good deal there. Especially if you put up a fake wall to create an extra bedroom. (Which Mitch and his friends did. They snuck in the materials into the apartment in the middle of the night, since it was technically an illegal fake wall."
Typical. And then this:
"Three guys, a girl, and a fake wall."
4 unrelated adults livng together, illegal under NYC law. Typical again.

They are doing what Blackstone is famous (or infamous) for doing all over the country. They are taking a formerly livable middle-class residential property and turning it into a money-spinning shit hole.
Whenever Marsh appears on the TA Facebook, I am left shaking my head. How's that tenant presence going at the leasing office, John?
This place sure gone crazy.
We've all been Garodnicked one too many times!
A correction of a correction:
From the TA Facebook about Stuy Town and PCV:
OK, this explains it...
http://nypost.com/2017/02/19/stranger-attempted-to-rape-woman-in-stuy-town-lobby-cops/
I'm sure management is calling the Post right now, telling them no, it's Gramercy!
"Stranger attempted to rape woman in Stuy Town lobby: cops"
http://nypost.com/2017/02/19/stranger-attempted-to-rape-woman-in-stuy-town-lobby-cops/
NYCHA Properties are deliberately rundown with poor maintenance by City Hall Housing and Economic Development leading to privatization of the properties to eliminate lower income population all together.
The agency is the nation’s largest public-housing authority — and the city’s largest slumlord.
http://nypost.com/2017/02/19/the-slow-death-of-new-yorks-public-housing/
>>I responded:<<
Thanks.
Rules, rules, rules...haha
http://www.nydailynews.com/life-style/developers-flock-east-village-neighborhood-evolves-article-1.2972719
Yup.
I'm sure that in response to today's sexual assault, Rick will institute a strict No Raping rule, and post it throughout the property.
Another problem solved.
Atomic Man, you are too funny! It's true, though. All notices, but no enforcement.
We need more PS patrolling the property at night. Where the hell do they all go because we never see them?
They need to stop marketing to students.
I agree with atomic man, it's time for Rick to have some more stickers placed on the elevator walls imploring people to refrain from engaging in rape.
StuyTown amenities have nothing on Mar-a-Lago
"The managing director of Mar-a-Lago bluntly calls the presidency a value-add for new members"
New York Times
LOL The most treasured, sacred institution of the United States of America is a a resort amenity. You can't make this stuff up.
I saw one PS officer in the afternoon. Maybe, since it is now nighttime, they need a break until the morning. I'm not joking.....
ABC 7 is reporting that the 17 year old suspect is from Piscataway. Since he is not from the area, I can only assume he was on the property because he was in the city visiting a friend that attends NYU and lives here and they were out partying Saturday night before the incident.
http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/nyc-crime/17-year-old-detained-attempted-rape-stuy-town-article-1.2976759
7:21 pm, it is a pinned post on the TA fb page. You may not see it unless you click on it if you reading on a tablet, but it is there.
We have a name of the perp, an “Aaron Kish, 17”.
"The beating lasted for nearly 10 minutes but the woman fought back leaving the suspect with deep scratches on his chest, sources said. A male bystander interrupted the assault and the perpetrator fled from the apartment building."
Did a search on FB, could not really find him?
http://pix11.com/.../17-year-old-in-custody-for.../
STR, what was it about Garodnick's Twitter feed that pissed you off? I looked at and it looked quite innocuous to me.
For years. Years we all ask for more better lighting at night. What we got was flowers. Fucking trees and grass leaf blowers and flowers.

My God! 10 minutes....

I will take another look and post about it on the front page, as I can't do picture files here that can't be seen without clicking on the link. To me, he is very obvious. He is angling for a higher position. Stuy Town and PCV is too small for him. It would be okay if he is fighting for this city, but he is also listening to his REBNY fans and influenced by them a lot.
http://pix11.com/2017/02/19/17-year-old-in-custody-for-attempted-rape-in-stuy-town/
The perp is shown in the video report. You have to put the link in your browser and take it from there.
My God! 10 minutes....

Blackstone?
>>That makes it clear what many have been saying on this blog that there are problems with safety since 2006 with the current Oval Security. I didn't think about that. 10 minutes and what were the valued TV cameras doing that we are paying for? I get that after the fact these cameras were important, but for 10 minutes where were they and the person or persons responsible for monitoring them? Obviously absent. A major FAIL.
I couldn't work for Blackstone. Something is very wrong, and the powers that be do not give a fuck. Oh, if it gets to the news, they will care, and the bottom line we know about, but otherwise....
>>For years. Years we all ask for more better lighting at night. What we got was flowers. Fucking trees and grass leaf blowers and flowers.<<
Don't forget great outdoor concerts and candy machines in the laundry rooms.
The attempted rape and lack of PS is something a real TA would be screaming about. But where are they???
No one saw the dude beating th girl on any of our 29 million dollar cameras. ? Is it fake?
And, yes, I see the dog shit, again, and the porters and Stuy workers do not give a damn.
Sound: Knock Knock
City Council: Who's there?
“The public deserves to see where their money is going and for what purpose. Who puts the money in? Are there subcontractors? Shell companies? Be on top of that. Be wary of slush funds for council members,” Bharara told the Association of Towns of the State of New York at the Marriott Marquis in Midtown."
“Slush funds” like the one set up by the City Council nearly a decade ago should set off the alarm bells for all honest elected officials, US Attorney Preet Bharara said Monday.
http://nypost.com/2017/02/20/slush-funds-are-an-invitation-to-corruption-bharara/
The Albany cesspool began at HUD..

http://interactive.nydailynews.com/2016/10/inside-the-cuomo-deblasio-feud/
Not to worry, folks, PS stationed an officer nearby the M entrance of 628 E 20th all day today. I'm sure it makes nervous residents feel much safer knowing they've got the barn door locked down good...after all the horses have ran off!
Here's a tip. How about putting some boots on the ground BEFORE the next attack. If there were a visible security presence, foot patrolling the property in the wee hours, they'd likely scare off anyone up to no good. And, as a bonus, they could deal with the problem of drunken assholes shouting at the top of their lungs on their way back to their dorm rooms.
"McClellan needs to be gone for this."
February 20, 2017 at 3:20 PM
"Aside from that pinned post with the perp's hat, there is NOTHING on the incident. Not even an update. Certainly nothing about the security cameras."
Look again.
Thanks.
"A call for new leadership at Oval Security who will put tenants safety and security above corporate image is a must."
Damn right! Get rid of that sleazy lowlife, McClellan.
I hope the young lady who was assaulted sues the shit out of this slumlord and the half-wit named McLellan.
I Amin shock and as usual no one gives a damn. Do parents of the students here read this. Kniw this.
F el safe here.
The usual advice from the TA is to contact Rick or PS.
Planting bushes and flowers. That's what thy want here. They don not install lighting. Frances flowers dog areas. Victim should sue
STOP RENTING TO THESE STUDENTS! THE QUALITY OF LIFE IS HORRIBLE HERE!
The scene: PCVST Public Safety Command Center, 5am Sunday morning.
Officer 1: "OK, OK, which one of you wise guys put the porno channel on screen number 32?"
Officer 2: "Dude, that is some sick shit right there. Change the channel."
"The 13 Precinct even gave kudos"
It comes as no surprise the 13th gave kudos to Blackstone.
Blackstone should be embarrassed, but they won't be because you can't embarrass anyone who has no shame.
>>You have a judgmental tone and I hope you are not implying that maybe "she asked for it."<<
Sorry, wrong blog. Go to the TA. They should listen to you.
Another way for Blackstone and Rick to try and look good. But it makes them look cheap and pathetic. Stop playing your tenants for fools
