Our landlord, BLACKSTONE, can't handle Stuy Town and Peter Cooper Village. There is a lack of enforcement of certain "rules," and no amount of notice to this alleviates the problems. We are continually being told half-truths and fabrications. And we have no viable Tenants organization, despite our TA asking for dues all the time. So far, the politicians have proven to be basically useless. A typical New York story.

I hope you are done giving Rick chances, like you did last week. He obviously fed you what you wanted to hear, and planned to do nothing, like always. Email to Jonathan Gray is forthcoming from this pissed off tenant paying way too much for this hellhole.
One of the worst thing to happen to this place was allowing dogs. Nothing against dogs, but the physical layout of this property is not conducive to their living here because most buildings have no direct street/curb access. The result is that the thousands of dogs that live here (and lots of outsider dogs that don't) piss and shit everywhere all over the property. The big cheese himself, Rick Hayduk, has two dogs, so I doubt that dog complaints are taken very seriously.
Absolute pigs live here. This complete lack of respect extends to every aspect of living here including keeping their neighbors awake till 2:30 # Am clomping around the bedroom, dropping things, slamming closet doors, etc. Ad nauseum. When I ask myself how could I have lived here all these years? Because 15 years ago it wasn't like this!! It was shocking if you'd hear anyone walking above you. Current behavior would have gotten you evicted. Sometimes change is the only option if you don't want to sacrifice your quality of life and sanity for the sake of a cheap rent.

He could have fed me anything he wants. As I said a week ago, I will report what I see. The photos are part of the proof. I'm not adverse to listening, however. But I do have the photos and what I see.

This is a problem that will not go away. And it will get worse. Already my building has over-sized dogs. And I mean over-sized. The tenant just has to keep them for a little time, and they (the over-sized dogs) are part of the complex legally. Thank you, City Council.
Anyone who would pay the uber inflated rents for this place are out of their minds The slobs destroy the beauty of the grounds. Last night I saw some tenants having a picnic, sitting right on the grass where dogs routinely do their business. Disgusting.
Not to mention the stupid 30 something woman with her big ?boxer actually letting the dog walk right across one of the outdoor Cafe tables!!! I said something to her but the vacant look on her face said she really didn't care that people had to eat on the table after the dog paraded across it. A slob like this - take a guess what her apartment looks like.
I guess what we need now are signs telling these freaks not to let their dogs walk on the tables or get the Lysol!!
I honestly think it's too late to make this place livable. Dogs, pot, inconsiderate pigs for neighbors - 50% of them would have to be evicted.
>>I honestly think it's too late to make this place livable.<<
I've had a lower opinion of some people thanks to this complex. And they are not all students. Let me tell you, some of the older crowd can be just as, or more, obnoxious than the younger crowd.
>>Anyone who would pay the uber inflated rents for this place are out of their minds<<
There is a segment that is in denial. They have to be. You can find some of their voices at the TA Facebook. Generally, they don't dare to come over here, to this blog. I have photos, you see, and the evidence of my own eyes.
I love the comment: "But it's New York City!" Yeah, the dog urine and shit stains are real New York. Of course, if you tell them it was different years ago, they will probably not believe you.
The security department is firmly under the hold of management. Although some of them seem indifferent and incompetent, their hands are tied. This management consistently tells them to look the other way and not enforce rules, particularly when it comes to the dorm demo which is ever increasing. If management wanted rules followed, they would fire the slackers. This dump is hopeless and that sect that is in denial on the TA facebook feeds into Blackstone's deceptions.
I hope they don't eliminate Security. I had to call them several times last night/early this morning because of a domestic violence incident in the apartment downstairs from me. They came very fast each time I called. However, if I hear this happening again, I intend to call 911 and let the cops deal with the idiots.
This rumor started at as a post to this blog and it is ridiculous, I don’t care who the source was. PS has been downsized and defanged but it's not going to be eliminated. Give me a break, Blackstone/SPS may be evil but they are not dumb.
The Office of Administrative Trials & Hearings (OATH) is where any violations are sent. Anyone can view the OATH data at NYC Open data.
I see the following reported as from April 1 to date:
5 Leash violations all issued April 29. 1 Leash violation issued May 3.
No bike violations issued;no canine waste violations issued.
If 5 leash violations can be issued on a single day, it means that if PS is rreally trying, leash violations could be issued every day.
So the pattern seems to be, make an effort one or two days every 3-4 weeks to claim some credit and hang loose.
Canine waste could easily be dealt with more effectively. There are certain areas where the violations are more likely to be found. As of last check, maintenance is not really tracking the dog waste reporting. I had suggested they use a database. That way the trouble spots could easily be identified violation either issued or prevented. The Db suggestion was not taken.
Whatever, the net is that enough people not cleaning up after their dogs continues.
Bike rules/laws...I think you can forget those. Unless someone is riding like a utter maniac, nothing will be enforced.
1) I think the dog ticketing is easy because they don't need or like to confront. They watch the violator and see what building they go into and then the key card tells them what apartment they live in. Then they mail it and it's done. I talked to a dog owner this happened to.
2) If any TA sympathizers need further proof that the TA doesn't care, just go on their FB page and look at the people bashing them and their total silence. They know they have no leg to stand on in the argument that they have been all but nonexistent as of the past few years.
>>1) I think the dog ticketing is easy because they don't need or like to confront. They watch the violator and see what building they go into and then the key card tells them what apartment they live in. Then they mail it and it's done. I talked to a dog owner this happened to.<<
I've seen people, residents and non-residents, ignored via the monitors. I've seen a lot of violations and not one gets sent in the mail something. I don't say it doesn't happen, but I've not seen or experienced it.
I also need to see official NYC records and not take the word of Management or PS in this matter. Need I remind people that there have been 8,000 lanyard stops for a year? Or so says Management and PS.
STR, I don't think they even use the monitors in these cases. I think the guard sees the dog leash violator and waits to see what building they go to, and then call in to the office to see who swiped the card as they go in. If the person doesn't swipe in, then I guess they might need the monitors.
I'd be curious to know if the tickets handed out were given to MR or RS tenants. The two people that I know got tickets are RS.
My Great Dane Took a Sh*t and I Didn't Clean Up...hahaha

I walked throughout PigStuy Town and the Oval yesterday afternoon for a couple of hours. Did my own little survey. I counted 84 dogs, ranging in size from a tiny Pekinese to a massive Great Dane ( a horse perhaps??? ). 84 non-registered dogs, only 2 blue tag lanyards, Public Safety oblivious to it all. P.S. Great Dane, easily 100+ ponds, took a MASSIVE sh*t. Owner firtively looked around to see if anyone was watching and walked away. WAY TO GO with rules enforcement, Rick!
But what if there is no guard, which frequently there isn't? And if he is around, he is usually in the small guardhouse and doesn't see where the tenant goes. Yes, there is one PS officer in particular who walks "the beat", but the others--forget about it!
Next time, nicer weather, I will discreetly follow this PS officer, occasion permitting, and see what he does. He could be one of the very few who report a negligent resident back to the office.
The occupant du jour in any elected office does not matter. The same few billionaires will align with any elected occupant to get their agenda. There is a long line of occupants du jour waiting for their turn in higher offices so they to can make big profits for a very few billionaires in exchange for the next higher office and the next office after that.

"Saudi Arabia is pledging $20 billion to an American private investment firm to pay for infrastructure projects in the United States. The firm at the center of the deal, the Blackstone Group (BX), has a close connection to President Trump."
And there you have. Let things get so run down and terrible they are declared a Federal emergency just after your pals get foreign infrastructure money.
The photos on the blog make it clear they are running this lace down to declare it a disaster. It does not matter how pristine it was before developers got their hands on the property. Mayor and representatives handed your property keys to developers to stress the infrastructure with more occupancy and dirty the party-town grounds.
There is a long list of representatives in line waiting their turn at higher office with more power to move more money that is profiting a very few and bankrupting the Public at large. Does anyone really want another term of incumbents?
I love the guy trying to get playground 11 shut down in his T&V article because the noise disturbs him in his 11th floor apartment. This gentleman has some nerve as far as I'm concerned, as there are people dealing with much worse in terms of noise. He should literally just get lost.
All of the terrorists involved in 9/11 were from Saudi Arabia. Nice company Blackstone keeps and benefits from. Saudi Arabia has one of the worst human rights abuses record, has more regard for camels than women and finances terrorism. Anybody doing business with that shitty kingdom is complicit in crimes against humanity.
Predict Blackstone and Saudi Arabia will construct private NYC-NJ Hudson River tunnel in place of fully funded, shovel ready tunnel Chris Christie killed to prove GOP loyalty by helping derail Obama's infrastructure job creation stimulus.
Half way through tunnel construction Blackstone and Saudi Arabia will walk away from project after realizing approved $100 toll charge will not provide sufficient profit.
Corrupt FED, NYS, NYC and NJ politicians, including Mayor Dan, will arrange for their taxpayer constituents to bail out Blackstone and Saudi Arabia, complete tunnel construction for them, then hand new tunnel over to them on condition they administer an annual lottery for 20 years awarding one lucky NYS resident and one lucky NJ resident a discounted $100 toll pass lasting one year.
For the next 100 years Blackstone and Saudi Arabia will rake in tax free billions charging revised $150 toll (approved to increase 10% every year) to tax payers raped by Blackstone, Saudi Arabia and corrupt politicians, including Mayor Dan.
... and the corrupt politicians will arrange for their taxpayer constituents to provide 100 years free maintenance on private tunnel owned by Blackstone and Saudi Arabia.

I love the threatening language that we MUST check one box. Some nerve of these people trying to use scare tactics against the vulnerable population of this property, the elderly, which would probably inflate their dismal membership numbers. As a former member, mine went straight to the shredder.
That newsletter must be where they spent the $71k in funds for tenant education! I love how they put May 2017, like they send this out monthly. It should really say 2016-2017, because the newsletter comes once every 2-3 years. Susan and this board should be ashamed at the horrible job they've done.
On the front of the TA bulletin they had an article on airbnb and tourists using apartments. The article ended by telling tenants to report this when they see it. What about management and the TA doing their job and scanning the ads that come up and maybe screening better. Made it seem like the TA really cared about QOL issues.
They sent out a bulletin last year around this time. It also had the form with the threatening tone concerning the "pledge" form. If they win any so-called reduction on an MCI, it has to apply to all affected tenants, whether they signed the pledge or not! Who do these people think they are? They do fuck-all for tenants and then want to extort fees and pledges.
Again, this language is pure scare tactics by the TA against a vulnerable population. There is a special place in hell for all of the TA as far as I'm concerned.
