Also, news from the TA:
Tuesday, June 27, the Rent Guidelines Board will vote on increases to leases that renew starting October 1. If you’re paying a preferential rent, this increase will apply to your higher, legal rent.
TUESDAY, JUNE 27
5:45 p.m. Meet on the corner of 23rd St. and First Ave. to walk to the rally
6:00 p.m. Rally on 25th St. and Lexington Ave.
7:00 p.m. RGB votes at Baruch College's Mason Hall, 23rd St. and Lexington Ave.
HOW MUCH ARE THE PROPOSED INCREASES? The chair of the RGB has proposed a range of 1%–3% for one-year renewal leases and a range of 2%–4% for two-year renewal leases. BUT THE RGB CAN STILL VOTE FOR A ROLLBACK OR A FREEZE.
The RGB knows that even though landlords’ costs are projected to up, FOR ELEVEN STRAIGHT YEARS their profits have increased.
Rent increases are forever. Join the TA to demand a fair deal for tenants.
Note: If you plan to take the 23rd Street SBS crosstown, you should get off at Third Avenue. There is no stop at Lexington anymore.

Year after year REBNY does the same thing. Small landlords who might be hurting are pushed out front to plead their cases. You never see the Speyers, Rudins and the like out there making a case. I'm sure they'd never get past the booing. Some of the small guys might really need some relief but the law and the board make no differentiation between the small guys and the big guys which really makes no sense. 2 fairly objective standards that have been used in the past to guide increases have been the cost of heating oil and the overall harshness of the winter. Last winter overall was not more harsh than the prior winter. However, the cost of heating oil for the 2016-17 season was higher than that of 2015-16. On the other hand, the cost of heating oil for last season is still much lower than every season prior to 2015-16 going all the way back for 10 years. In other words, heating oil today costs less than it did 10 years ago. However, over the past 10 years, due to RGB increases our rents have gone up by about 25% during this period. (Thank you Mayor Bloomberg.) So there is really no reason for a rent increase other than overall inflation independent of energy and rent costs. That rate of inflation is running at around 0.5%. Anything more than 1/2 of 1 percent on a 1 year lease would be excessive.

Poor babies....
I hope that we, the people, are not going to be on the hook in any way shape or form for the default of these criminal money-laundering bastards foreclosures.
I am hoping that in my lifetime there will be an accounting (maybe an international court) of all these vicious, vile criminals who launder money through the USA, and the politicians who represent them. I hope I live to see them all thrown in jail or, better yet, executed.
If there is an NYC Parents Union then why can't there be an NYC Tenants Union? Have any of the tenant organizations ever tried to up their power with a Union or are they determined to keep doing the same old tired and failing methods of protests and rallies without organization?
http://www.fox5ny.com/news/263645774-story
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_City_Parents_Union
I think they should stop building those hideous exceedingly tall skinny buildings, and implode the ones already in existence. They are a blight on the landscape and nothing more than money laundering vehicles for billionaire criminals and oligarchs. Apart from being ugly, they don't look safe.
I know this was on a different thread but I was confused by an ongoing string that was about RS. I too was under the impression that 5000 apartments in PCVST were to remain RS forever. Is this not what Garodnick and DeBlasio touted as the big success in the deal?
The 5000 unit deal applies for 20 years starting in 2015. Beyond that, assuming rent stabilization is still in place, only those long timers still paying the legal rent will be protected. I've seen an estimate that this will be about 1500 units. I'm quite sure that management will work things such that the legal rents for the other 3500 units will far exceed the rents being charged. So after 2020 hits, at next lease renewal you can bet these rents will get jacked up and the tenants in those 3500 units will be gone.

People need to download the app Citizen. This gives the real picture of the crime going on around this property that Rick and PS will never disclose to us.
Did you know teens with knives were chasing kids near 5PCR a few months ago??
Did you know there was an armed robbery in an elevator in 18SO 8 months ago?
There is actually a woman in 16SO that was attacked by her boyfriend 2 hours ago!!
There is a whole lot more going on here than meets the eye. Check out the app to see for yourself.

I could definitely believe that Hayduk and Blackstone may be covering up crime. They are certainly covering up their rental policies.

We never saw this stuff back in the MetLife non/ac days. Waitlist was almost 10 years. How ironic.
Dear Resident,
For a limited time only, refer a friend who signs a lease and in addition to a $1,000 rent credit for you, your friend will receive a $500 gift card! Tell your friends and family about StuyTown and they can enjoy this gift card in addition to the current leasing incentive at the time of their lease signing.
Residents are still eligible to receive $1,000 for each and every successful referral that they make. Be surrounded by friends and make your pockets fat in the process!
Offer valid from 7/1/17 - 8/31/17 on new applications only. Visit StuyTown.com/resident-referral for more information.

Another subway derailment. If only the cretinous filth who run this city would focus more on shoring up infrastructure and less on building gigantic buildings that will stand empty or go into foreclosure! They are building more and more "luxury condos" to entice people to live in this battered old city and making more and more cribs in the Sty to fill up the battered old buildings, but they don't give a fuck about the infrastructure.
I guess this is what happens when politicians and developers are in bed together. Damn their rotten souls (if they even have souls).
June 26, 3:39 pm. They are fucking desperate. Absolutely fucking desperate. I would never, ever recommend this place to a friend, even if they offered me a year of free rent. If I could afford to move out, I'd be gone in a flash.
Nasty, overcrowded dorm/transient shit hole. Six people crammed into one chopped up apartment with one bathrooom. No wonder they pee and shit in the stairwells. This is the information that we should be getting out there to the public so that the gullible aren't taken in by their lies and avarice.

Is this new? Or is it for an "old" job?
Hi STR. There's no more info available. Go to Facebook and check it out.
I don't think more than 30 people look at this website (blog) STR. We will get not any answer on this 3 stuy oval mci question.
People are soo disgusted in living here, and most have given up.
Here is what the Citizen app shows for crime on the property. There are more things listed, like apartment fires and medical emergencies, which I did not include.

More to follow. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Hey Rick, you can't hide from these things anymore. Hey T&V, thanks for being management shills and not reporting what's actually going on around here.
>>I don't think more than 30 people look at this website (blog) STR. We will get not any answer on this 3 stuy oval mci question.<<
I have it on good authority that it's 31.
So many bnb suitcase people seen lately. Really disgusting. The management could care less. If they stationed public safety or management reps near the loops maybe they could inquire where these folks are renting apartments and how. This place is getting worse and worse.
I've always wondered how the T&V picks and chooses what goes in the police blotter, because it obviously doesn't cover all crime in the 13th precinct based on reported crime numbers in the precinct. Now we know that they cover up the crimes taking place in PCVST. It just makes me wonder how long Sabrina has been turning away the facts of crime on this property.
Your funny!
Thank you Bill Debl- ASS -io! Thank you so much for raising our rents on top of all the MCI'S in this dump! I'll be sure to NOT vote for you this year, you BIG BIRD arrogant @%!&!!!
Renewal leases: It's official now. 1.25% for one year; 2% for 2 years. Beginning October 2017.
Not for nothing, but as long as the TA is doing it:
Does anyone know of a good headshrinker that can deal with the depression and anxiety over bicycles running freely around the Oval, the lanyard rule (twice given by Rick) which is ignored, the noise (which is also ignored), the dog crap and dog piss (which is not ignored), the illegal motorized bicycles of delivery persons? Send answers care of: This place can drive me crazy! Thank you.
Those "wheely" things are all over the place.
Our brick exteriors, metal doors, closed kitchens are the safest apartments. The new renovations, open concepts, grills, wood and glass doors, and who knows what other short-cut penny-saved-dollar-short materials could benefit from real inspections from independent parties with no connection to the NYC DOB, HPD, HCR.

Politicians are naming more parks, bridges, airports after themselves and it is becoming the latest joke. Let the People decide if a park, bridge or airport should be memorialized with the name of a politician or not. Politician's self-glorifying is at an all time high it is laughably absurd. The economy is a mess, housing is still a mess since the crash, small businesses are all but gone, healthcare is in dire straits, the American dream of a business, a home and quality of life has been crushed by self-glorifying narcissistic failures. Really, it is hard pressed to think of a single politician who has performed to a level where they have earned the privilege of their elected office. We are at a point where they should wake up every single day and say "how am I going to earn the privilege of the job today". Now we stuck by default with another term of a nonleader who is giving away land and millions to billionaires (another $5 million to Home Depot billionaire this week). The more buildings, parks and bridges they name after themselves the more it looks like they are covering up some really bad stuff. Of all the heroic acts of people who deserve to have bridges, parks and airports named after themselves, politicians are somewhere at the bottom of the list.
9:53:
0% last year, 0% the year before, 1.25% next year.
Yeah, we were SO much better off under Bloomberg!
A lady on the TA page found that her RS lottery apartment is being increased by more the RSB recommended for RS apartments. I don't think that lottery system of 5000 apartments (which won't even be 5000 until a lot of old timers die or move out) was such a good deal. If it's only for 20 years, well, 20 years goes by fast, especially when you are raising a family. Who knows what rude awakening will come to those folks in 20 years.
How could the TA, Garodnick and DeBlasio possibly have thought that this was a good deal for tentnats of STPCV? Did all of those politicians who were applauding (Schumer, Stringer, Hoylman, et al) also think it was such a brilliant idea? Maybe it's a brilliant idea from the point view of a greedy landlord and shady pols and the shady TA, but I don't think it was so brilliant for the tenants involved.
Peter Stuyvesant doesn't seem to have much information for lottery tenants. I do hope the TA doesn't expect them to pony up $50 and sign their pledge.
I posted on Facebook a link to this site so all could read an know what we know.

Simply put, it was not a good deal, and they knew it. But they had to spin it to make it seem like they delivered something.

I should be there soon, but it may have been cleaned up by then.
June 28 4:23 pm - you are so right. The new buildings are death traps. Our buildings are being turned into death traps with the "renovations" and reconfiguration so. If ther is ever a fatality here, I hope it will be Blacstone's greed that causes it. Does Heyduk put his own family at risk?
God bless Little Dan Garodnick and the STPCVTA for helping orchestrate the Blackstone purchase of this property and thereby ensuring long term affordability for the working class of this city. Indeed, only yesterday I met a neighbor who "hit the lottery" with one of the "affordable" apartments. They were picked for a one bedroom at the rock bottom affordable price of $2900. A rent that any working class person could afford. I agree with Little Dan and the TA that the Blackstone deal was better than any kind of self determination that was being pursued because we have the expertise of the titanic and loving Blackstone behind us. My TA dues continue to pay off in spades. I'll probably be paying them a bit more than the $50.00 they are asking for when my next renewal comes around.

Can anyone recommend a tenant lawyer in ST/PCV.
I have some questions. Thanks.
Sorry, it was. Around 9:30pm. Thanks anyway. I'm sure you'll find something else, somewhere.

I'd be surprised if something serious, building-wise, happened here, though it could conceivably happen.
Also (and this is NOT a personal attack), but be aware that someone just mentioning a member of my family made me see red. While I think the people for Blackstone who are front and center can be mentioned, I think mentioning other people personally should be taboo. Just my feeling based on my experience.
Maybe all of us who are freaking out over no sleep, dogs etc., etc. can come to the Sr. Cetner one night a weekmonth just to talk about it. It's so sad, but if everyone is going through the same thing it's better than suffering alone. If it gets to be just a complain fest we don't have to continue.
STR, I don't know who mentioned a member of your family or where.
Oh, this was private. Nothing to do with what goes on here. It just made me more sensitive to the issue than I would have been otherwise.
VERY SERIOUS. ANY PERSONS LIVING HERE WITH RESPIRATORY ISSUES, KIDS ALSO, THERE IS BLACK MOLD.
SEE YOUR LEASES. LANDLORD KNOWS IT AND HAS WRITTEN INTO OUR LEASES THAT LANDLORD BLACKSTONE NOT RESPONSIBLE.
HIGHLY DANGEROUS BLACK MOLD AND OTHER MOLDS IN WALLS FLOORS HERE.
Ah, well, Blackstone seems not to be listening or taking matters as seriously as their lease and promises would indicate. I'm mulling over something more hardcore, and legal. This will not be a "gotcha" game, but rather a careful response that could take some time. I will report of my success, if any. All of us can sue (it has been done successfully before) but we need to build our case seriously and consider that the case or cases will take time. It seems obvious that some "rules" (not even created by me) are not being followed. Perhaps it is this or that and there is some excuse, but the excuses are annoying or laughable by now.
The fucking construction noise on the 14th Street Loop is unbearable. It is never-ending. Blackstone probably owns the migraine drug companies.
Saw two more young girls with those rolling suitcases this morning. ST Hotels Incorporated!
There is NO STABILITY in this DUMP!!! And by the way, MY Porter HAS HAD IT! He doesn't eve know where to start his job in the morning. He is SOO OVERWHELMED, and I feel very sorry for him. It is not right the amount of work they have to everyday. That recycling area is a job in itself. This place does not care about it's employees or the people that reside in it. AND what a joke about communicating the information to Residents regarding what to do with this JP MORGAN CHASE form, SECURITY DEPOSIT TRANSFER. A LITTLE TO LATE RICK!! You hire people with half a brain! HALF A BRAIN! This place has been destroyed FOREVER!
Left my apartment this morning to go out and was greeted by the spectacle of 2 groups of students moving in or out. They were also tying up an elevator. You could hardly pass their crap in the vestibule. When I went out there were u-hauls galore. This place is such a dump.
June 30, 2017 8:13 AM "VERY SERIOUS. ANY PERSONS LIVING HERE WITH RESPIRATORY ISSUES, KIDS ALSO, THERE IS BLACK MOLD."
I don't know about black mold, however I do know that each time I return to my PCV building after being away some days or weeks, the air inside, starting with the lobby, stinks! I really notice a difference in air quality - something I only notice after living elsewhere for a while and then return home. I don't know if other buildings are the same way, perhaps the city in general, even?
June 30, 2017 at 8:13 AM and June 30, 2017 at 10:04 AM and Ivanhoe Cambridge and for that fact all the un-named investors lurking behind the scenes. Most certainly Blackstone and Ivanhoe Cambridge. There is also a legal issue that all rent stabilized leases are to use the same terms each and every year at renewal. The same exact terms at each and every renewal.
This article and photo is worrisome for our kids and failing school system that was just awarded by Albany two years of control under these three in the photo. One cess pool awarding another where our kids futures are at stake. Something has to give because everything from communities to the subway to schools to small businesses are failing under the current public servants in City Hall and Albany. But hey, the subways got a $4 billion station at Brookfield Place and another billion dollar station at Hudson Yards and a third Second Avenue three-stop train line at Stuyvesant Town with two new entrances being built soon. The systems are failing the People, the school systems, the subway systems, the housing systems. But hey, the developers are making big buck on empty luxury condos and hotels.
http://www.silive.com/news/2017/01/post_1518.html
Just walked from 1st to the oval, I counted 5 piles of shit. That's bad even for this slum.
:There is also a legal issue that all rent stabilized leases are to use the same terms each and every year at renewal. The same exact terms at each and every renewal."
What do you mean by that? I thought the terms were always the same and that only the rent increase could be different. Don't scare this nervous old lady. Tell me what you are talking about, please.
The House Rules have disappeared from my elevator and the notice board. There is now a sign on the inside of the elevator telling people to keep their kids away from the doors. Are these changes being made throughout the property?
The apartment churning here is exploding. As is the airbnb suitcase contingent. All you see are moving trucks, student crap being moved in,and rolling suitcases.
Good men of the V.A. Hospital: Shut that fucking sound off , it is 7 am , we are working people and we are tired. Shut that fucking noise down. signed tired dad in peter cooper. shut the fuck up.
Agree with you 3:08 that there is something shady about the exploding Airbnb population, its lobby firms Capalino & Co and Bolton St Johns, the dorm agreements with the City Council that seem to double as Airbnb hostels, the Mt Sinai agreement with City Hall that turns blind eyes to dorms here in exchange for Mt Sinai Beth Israel buildings used as homeless shelters like on 17th street in Stuy Town. There is some dirty dealings behind closed doors with no input from community as reported in Town Village. The Mayor is replacing permanent residents with tourists. Period end of story.
That is not what he campaigned on and not what he preaches and not at all what we voted for and we will make certain to never vote for him again for anything. Walking to the subway you pass by the suitcase young hotel guests right in front of the management office every week. Outright Liars all of them. No other way to put it.
The press is calling him out on his hypocritical catering to the wealthy and powerful unions. He is abusing power of the Office of Mayor to further the agenda of wealthy developers by pushing out by any means the citizens of New York City to replace with the global travelers who want a playground of casinos, horse racing, mall shopping. The new outlet mall on Staten Island is headed for disaster as the news is reporting large losses in outlet business and we all know the casinos are a losing bet from lessons learned in New Jersey. Just this week Albany bailed out with taxpayer dollars a losing harness race track. Soon casinos will be exposed as nothing more than money laundering facilities for the world's oligarchs and billionaires illicit businesses.
This article lays out the Mayors prioritizing the wealthy developers and celebrity crowd he desperately wants to use to catapult himself onto national platforms and higher office job promotions for himself while he under-serves the public good sells out the Public.
It is time the city proposed long-term solutions that go beyond absurdly expensive projects like the Second Ave. Subway, No. 7 extension and BQX, which are more about promoting high-end real estate development than solving transportation problems.
Rather than wrestle with real congestion problems, Mayor de Blasio is pushing an expensive boutique project for new transit infrastructure that will fail to address any of the city’s most pressing transit needs or significantly reduce traffic congestion.
The Brooklyn-Queens Connector, or BQX, would run from Astoria in Queens to Sunset Park in Brooklyn. It is the brainchild of a group of developers who are sprouting luxury towers on the Brooklyn-Queens waterfront. They corralled celebrities and willing non-profit groups to create Friends of the BQX, a vanity group set up by the developers . The mayor is using the city’s time and money to close the deal with this group.

There were never house rules, just words on paper!
The reconfiguring will cause change in occupancy and is a lead up to the sports entertainment Dalian Wanda NYU Sports & Society Program. The DOB does not require landlords to be honest about changes in occupancy while Blackstone reconfigures to what they call the changing demographic.
TA is busy protecting us from active shooters. They are prioritizing.
Amazingly, the TA is sponsoring an event about "active" shooters. I know what happened in the Bronx, but this appears to be done separate from that incident.
Now I have a long list of problems with this complex, but active shooters is not one, at least not yet.
Dog shit all over the place, delivery bikes whizzing by, AirBnB wheelies everywhere, unremitting noise, hideous concerts, noise, noise, noise, filth everywhere...way to go Rick Hydick!
By the way, how is the Blue collar dog lanyard enforcement coming along? NOT.
This is only going to get worse...and I mean lots worse...mark my wordsent going?
Hahahahahaha
This is really going to raise the tone of the place! I know the reporter has it wrong, but it is a great advertisement for the property:
https://patch.com/new-york/east-village/homeless-facility-open-stuy-town?utm_source=newsletter-daily&utm_medium=email&utm_term=community+corner&utm_campaign=newsletter&utm_content=article-topstories&utm_slot=1
We already know it's a dorm/airbnb/transient/no-tell motel, but this is the cream on the pudding!
Of course, the homeless have two ways to go from this small building. One is to that park nearby and the other place is Stuy Town.
Watch PS take notice, though. They don't take notice of most anything else, but the homeless, they will see.
Unless the reporter is correct and the neighborhood spanning from the East River to NYU Union Square East, 14th Street to 23rd street is now called Stuy Town. Maybe even Houston to 23rd seeing as the city council is giving all the East and West Village land to NYU. Usually the reporter is correct and the press slipped something the politicians have not yet announced, like rezoning or new names of neighborhoods they agreed to change with billionaire developers. The state slipped on this one a few years back too. Remember we are dealing with con artists, grifters, big-money launderers. A good bet is the reporter is correct and the politicians will back peddle.
@Disgruntled Long Term Tenant: A lot of us feel the same way you do and, like yourself, we ain't moving. We know they are making this place as hellish as possible, especially for those of us who have called it come for many years and remember when it was a really pleasant decent place to live. No matter what they do, I ain't leaving. I love my apartment and that is what I pay my [RS] rent for. I never go near the grounds for any reason other than necessity. There's nothing pleasurable about them as far as I'm concerned and, in fact, with the whizzing bikes and dollops of fucking dog shit, the streets outside are a lot safer.
Soon we'll have homeless people sprawled all over the benches and the grass, panhandling, puking and doing drugs.
Thank you DeBlasio, you corrupt piece of shit. Can't wait for your term to be over.
"Watch PS take notice, though. They don't take notice of most anything else, but the homeless, they will see."
I doubt it, STR. I really doubt it. PS does NOTHING that takes even the tiniest modicum of effort or forces them to look away from their fucking phones.
>>I doubt it, STR. I really doubt it. PS does NOTHING that takes even the tiniest modicum of effort or forces them to look away from their fucking phones.<<
Somebody homeless will be obvious to spot. Besides the homeless, at least in NYC, are not the "right type" for Stuyvesant Town. My feeling is that PS will do something. At least orders from above. Take a look at how diligent PS is regarding "outsiders" coming in from the public Asser Levy pool. Same situation.
>>A lot of us feel the same way you do and, like yourself, we ain't moving.<<
There are limited ways for me to move. I could hit the Lotto jackpot, for one. Otherwise, I'm staying as long as I breathe.
To follow up on the homeless situation: Yes, the decision by Blackstone is partially race based. I know that Puerto Ricans from the LES were asked to show that they were "residents and their guests," and I am assuming the same thing will happen with the homeless. If you are fairly decently dressed, white, Asian, or minority but possible AirBnb people your chances of being "harassed" are minimal.
https://patch.com/new-york/east-village/homeless-facility-open-stuy-town?utm_source=newsletter-daily&utm_medium=email&utm_term=community+corner&utm_campaign=newsletter&utm_content=article-topstories&utm_slot=1
LOL. I'm sure Blackstone must be upset about this "fake" news.
"There are limited ways for me to move. I could hit the Lotto jackpot, for one. Otherwise, I'm staying as long as I breathe."
My dream is to hit the lottery and move out of here! Out of NYC now that it has become a generic white bread mall, peopled with tourists, homeless and students. Even the tourists are becoming disappointed because New York isn't New York anymore. It's a large version of Urinal, Il.
Some of the people who live in these apartments look homeless. It is hard to see the difference in this dump, given the demo that rents here now. They need to confront the suitcase people in order to find out who is renting to them.
Can Blackstone bring back the glass shower doors, things are getting pretty boring here.
"Can Blackstone bring back the glass shower doors, things are getting pretty boring here."
Strip off and look at yourself in a full-length mirror and you'll be entertained.
"TA is busy protecting us from active shooters. They are prioritizing."
As well as an incredibly complex and intricate condo conversion. They have their plates full. People will have to realize that things like dog shit and piss, personal safety, and other QOL issues will just have to stay on the back burner for now. The TA is only human people (and volunteers I might add!).
I'm guessing that 11:37 is sarcasm? If not, I hope that people are not still talking conversion. That ship had long sailed, and it took our TA and councilman out to sea with it....
I think we better pack up and bag. And go to Florida or someplace cool up North. Did you see the latest on the TA Facebook? See how many "likes" this person has? She "loves" it here. No problems at all, and she gets her 3 knives sharpened for $12. I could use that to afford lunch, but that's another story. She is perfect for Blackstone and Family. Residents such as she (and there are a lot like her) "love" it here. They are thrilled with the dog shit and pee, thrilled with the rapid food delivery on illegal bicycles, thrilled with the continual noise, thrilled with the golf carts going this way and that way, thrilled with the diesel smell coming out of Stuy Town vehicles, thrilled, thrilled, thrilled! LOL.
That TA site has a lot of posters like the one you mentioned STR. They love it here and never see students. Some of them also love to attack those of us who criticize management. A few of them even seem to have ins with management and investigate criticisms made later refuting them.
I suspect some are "influenced" by Management and their posts are heaven-sent. This is the "feedback" Management wants and can use to churn even more apartments--and at high prices, too. This is what we, the normal residents, are up against. Yes, this place is not a hellhole, but there are genuine problems here. That is why I take photos. I don't like doing it, but the photos show that something is wrong. Management is not stupid, though, and knows this. But that is not their priority.
And again and again. Why is the TA not doing this? Why is the TA not being active and challenging Management when something is wrong? Why is the TA mostly silent?
I actually liked that Facebook post because it was a positive about a neighborhood businessman who is known for his great service in the area. Although she does heap unnecessary praise on "Stuy Town" at the beginning, it is really just about this one person who services the area.
Management, the TA, and Dan all still suck!
does the flex apartment get heat and AC in all rooms?
The person who championed living here as a love affair is part of sales management in Delta. Her job is to be upbeat. No secret, though, and all the more power to her, but one should know whom one is dealing with. My job is not with Delta, management, here or elsewhere. Again, this is the type of person other residents have to consider. Not everyone sees what we see or if they see it (how could they not?) they have an easy excuse. Without looking, I bet this person is not brought up in this city. And $4 to sharpen a knife? I support mom-and-pop business, but I also support my wallet. Personally, I don't get excited about sharpening a knife. But that's me.
On another subject, I read on the TA Facebook that a pit bull attacked another dog, a small one. I have no idea why this unregistered pit bull is still in Stuy Town, being walked. Of course, PS has a response? Rick?
We must not forget that we have Public Safety and those cameras all over the place. We, the residents, are paying for those cameras, which are supposed to guarantee safety.
I see a pit bull coming out of 7 Peter Cooper Road almost every day. Although this is not the pit bull being referred to, the thing is a beast. The owner does not seem to have any control over it because it is just so big, and although he seems to do a good job of keeping it away from other dogs, it's only a matter of time.
There you go PS -massive pit bull in 7 Peter Cooper Road. Job done for you, now go do something about it before a person or dog eventually gets hurt again.
July 4, 2017 at 7:58 AM The CEO of Delta just took a job as CEO Amtrack. Delta, Amtrack, and MTA all have vest interest in development of StuyTown with luxury hotel and all the billion dollar "infrastructure" Governor projects he is awarding to his developer buddies and his friends who in recent years took high paying jobs at those airports, trains, etc. The politicians taking billions from Saudis and giving it to Blackstone who is developing the luxury hotel here and also doing all the Saudi American infrastructure projects and the Delta love affair PR piece are a bit obvious. The Delta StuyTown love affair article is disingenuine at best but more likely a crafted, deliberate PR deceit.
If the TA really opposed the reconfiguration they would call it what it is and what has already been called out in the press. This article from 2012 is what the TA does not want tenants to know about warehousing and supersizing apartments. There are many reasons for this 1. house more occupants 2. dorm housing 3. drastically lessen the number of payouts to residents by hundreds if not thousands as fewer units equates to fewer payouts 4. drastically lessen the number of permanent tenants as supersize units are likely to be bulk leased and on and on. None of these things are mentioned by the TA in what can only be described as a weakest of attempts to appear opposed when really they are merely feigning opposition.
"NYU has been warehousing apartments for decades to combine them to create large “super apartments.” Our report includes the certificates of occupancies for the buildings as well as more than 40 permits filed by NYU with the Department of Buildings for apartment combinations of warehoused units.
What do we mean by “super apartments?” The floor plans below are for the combination of two nicely sized apartments into one very large 4 bedroom, 3 bath apartment.
What NYU Doesn’t Want You to Know About Faculty Housing at Washington Square Village

i saw that pit bull too at 7 pc. Isn't the owner of it aware or advised??????????? He was angry about other dogs - mine - going near it.
I live in 7PCR, and that dog is a monster. I have been in the elevator with the dog, and the owner had to corner it as it stood up in order to keep it from coming at me. He had it boxed in the corner the whole ride, and I didn't have a dog!
That dog is an attack waiting to happen, and if it's me, I am gonna sue management and go to every news station in the city.
Oh dear, Chuck is at it again. The Public is calling out the government officials on their frauds on the People.
LaGuardia, Penn Station, and lest we not forget the folly that is the Long Island airport these guys want to make international despite that it is a money pit that keeps getting bailouts from the federal officials at this party:
http://dailycaller.com/2017/07/02/kushner-ivanka-soros-schumer-and-more-mingle-in-the-hamptons/
They party together, do deals together, then publicly pretend to battle on opposite sides over issues like housing, healthcare, and all other Public Interests. Neither side is acting in the best interest of the Public while all at the party get richer and richer. The Twitter commenters put it best.
Where does political polarization end? The Hamptons.
On Saturday, some of the world’s most powerful politicians, celebrities, and billionaires from both sides of the aisle congregated at Washington Post editor Lally Weymouth’s Southampton home for champagne, cocktails, and fried chicken. The star-studded guest list included Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump, George Soros, Kellyanne Conway, Steven Spielberg, Bill Bratton, Charles Koch, Carl Icahn, and Sen. Chuck Schumer, among others.
Twitter was less than thrilled.

Isn't "Management" liable for incidents involving oversized, dangerous dogs, especially if they are not registered? If they live here, they should be within the weight/breed stipulations; if they don't live here they should be ticketed for trespassing. It's about time "Management," negligent assholes that they are (that includes you Heyduk and McClellan) pulled their fingers out of their asses and started enforcing the rules, especially those that apply to the safety and wellbeing of the tenants and their guests.
Maybe a few posts on Yelp, Yahoo and Google to warn people about what a badly and dangerously run this dump is would be in order? I'm so sick of these fucking useless, overpaid, underworked scum that passes for "management" and "public safety." I think we tenants are entitled to better. As for the TA, it is a pathetic bunch of morons at best. Won't say what it is at worst.
We have to make some of our complaints public via newspapers, reviews and even posters stuck on lamp poles or in the subway.
They object to this dump being called a project. It is become more and more like the projects. The projects do not allow pitbulls and they at least try to enforce that law. Management here never even bothers to try to enforce any laws.
It's quite appropriate that the Tenants Association is sponsoring a seminar on how to deal with a live shooting situation. This place becomes more and more like a NYCHA project: filth, dangerous dogs and a total disregard for the safety and wellbeing of the tenants. It's just an overpriced PROJECT. I mean no offense to the folks who live in the projects because they have no other choice, but I can see what they have to deal with as this shit hole gets worse and worse.
Has anyone ever tried to post a comment on the T&V blog only to have it not go through, no matter how innocuous it is? Seems to be the same people all the time who get their comments through, e.g., "Steve", "Fritz", T-Mac. Strange because their comments are not always very positive!
I agree that this place has become a big dump. Today the suitcase airbnb people were to be seen in large numbers exiting this vacation "oasis". Who would even want to pay money to stay in the Pig Stuy Town. I agree that the management here are despicable, but public safety has to answer to management and they are told to look the other way. Many of the officers are like sheep but there are a few good ones. That pitbull incident is a disgrace. The whole dog situation here is horrible. the other day, I could not get into my elevator due to a guy with 2 huge dogs blocking it up.
Re: Town and Village blog
If it's your first post, it takes some time for approval from the admin (usually days). Once approved you can post all you want.
You can call stuytown and their 'lawyer' will tell you they are not responsible if you get hurt , or your kid gets hurt. BTDT. You all should get out, really, it's getting worse.
"You can call stuytown and their 'lawyer' will tell you they are not responsible if you get hurt , or your kid gets hurt. BTDT. You all should get out, really, it's getting worse."
You better believe I am getting out! ASAP, though it will mean breaking my lease. I just can't stand this hell hole any longer. I'm paying over $3500 to live in a stinking, dangerous slum.
I am also putting the word out far and wide on social media and word of mouth that this place is a must to avoid.
I accidentally let though a post I shouldn't have. I agree with some of it, but it gets personal outside of what I believe is proper. I usually only "see" the first part of a post and not the latter part unless it has been posted.
Again, please do not discuss on this public blog people who are not directly involved. And I mean directly. Family members are off limits, obviously.
>>You can call stuytown and their 'lawyer' will tell you they are not responsible if you get hurt , or your kid gets hurt. BTDT. You all should get out, really, it's getting worse.<<
I think it has gotten worse, but I am not in a financial situation where I can go and leave. I suspect that many of us are in the same boat. If you have the money, sure, why not--unless all the infractions do not bother you. If you don't have the money, try humor, if you can. Personally, I realize more than ever that the only way to get attention from management is to sue them. There have been successful cases, but usually the lawyers will try to get you quiet for whatever money you (and they) get.
Just early today, I was sitting at the Oval and I enjoyed it. This feeling can get rarer and rarer, but it is still there. We do have some very nice people here, no doubt. And we also have "white trash." And I'm not speaking of students. Don't let the trash win. Or the management, who would love to see you vacate your apartment.
But why are we not suing?
I don't see any post that gets personal. Whatever it was went right past me!
The post is gone. Very quickly.
STR, how can we not let the "white trash" win? This is a project run by white trash for white trash!
Tritto as we are also paying over $3800 to live in a stinky dump full of agonizing noise and students. Leving in 3 months and counting minutes.
Every morning in the Pig Stuy we are awakened by noise. I wouldn't care if the grounds looked good, but all of this landscaping and cleaning is for naught. The place looks like a dump. You can't sleep past 7:30 here.
STR
As someone who appreciates all you do for us, I find it extremely insulting that someone comes on this blog and knowingly seems to bring your family into their posts. Obviously it's someone who knows your identity and your relatives, but my guess is that it's also someone that you speak the truth about or the people on this blog speak the truth about. I see no other reason why this person would continue their personal vendetta against you.
To me this means that the responsible party is one of the following:
Management personnel
Susan or the TA Board
A TA supporter
Garodnick staffer
Use the IP Address and call the person out!!
>>STR

I appreciate the sentiments and the info.... But it is not me, but someone else... My statement is just a desire not to see family members mentioned at all.
>>Every morning in the Pig Stuy we are awakened by noise.<<
I had to escape from the Oval because the noisy leaf blowers and diesel spewing lawnmowers are there now. And one of those lawnmowers is at the side of another building making loud noise.
BTW.... At the TA Facebook: One of the pro-any-dog should be okay with Stuy Town... Well, I've seen her and her husband, many times. I'd love for her to post a photo of the dog they are with when I see them.
Just heard that a female police officer was shot and killed in the Bronx. It can be a dangerous and life-threatening city. Family members must be horrified.
I think mismanagement has totally given up on rules.and their enforcement. They've even taken down the notices of dorm house rules.
Project, pit bull infested, filthy, noisy, dangerous project.
The difference between corrupt politicians and those who are not corrupt (yet).
A corrupt politician bails out his donors with taxpayer millions and disguises it as "saving jobs"
A politician who is not corrupt passes the small business act, actually does save thousands of more jobs, families, neighborhoods and communities.
http://nypost.com/2017/07/04/developer-with-ties-to-cuomo-gets-2m-tax-break-amid-bailout/
Amazing the corruption in the city.... And why, again and again and again, is Management and PS not doing anything about the lack of lanyards? Do we need to see a third posting from Rick on this issue? Next year of course.... Let's make it one per year.
Everyone should know by now not to believe anything that Rick Hayduk says about rules enforcement. Blackstone clearly does NOT want to spend any money or manpower on enforcing the rules and has directed Hayduk not to enforce them, which is why we have all the quality of life problems that we do. Hayduk is simply a well paid rent collector; he certainly isn't any sensible or decent person's idea of a property manager.
How much money did Rick waste on those house rules signs? Minimum of 4 signs in each building (both elevators, lobby, basement) x 121 buildings x $$$ = COLOSSAL WASTE.
I guess the money wasted on those signs is cheaper than actual enforcement of the rules. Good job Rick. FAIL
Speaking of dogs, the residents of my building generally bring sweat fido down to the laundry room with them. One of them even sits the dog in the laundry carts.
Now on the TA fb there is some stupid bitch throwing a tantrum because we are not allowed on the roofs to watch the fireworks! What an idiot! Clearly from out of town.
They took the rules notices down. We have no rules! They'll say read your lease.
So based on the dog story, management just happened to conveniently miss the statute of time for them take action against this dog that is biting other dogs.
Management and PS continue to turn their back to these dogs, and things will get worse. I hope their "lawyers" are ready for the forthcoming lawsuits, because I will sue the shit out of them if a dog bites my kid.
July 5 recall that there are at least two apartments in Peter Cooper that have roof decks to view the fireworks.
The 7PC guy. Is he the road hard, put away wet looking dude? That's a big dog. I always wondered how he got away with it. Also, what about the people with Pitt mixes? There are a ton on property.

?Speaking of dogs - Did everyone read the lettr to the editor in &V by a Bobbi Markovicz?
The woman rants on and on about not being able to let her "child" - Fido being able to run and play on the grass anymore., because of the fences. Oh, poor Fido. And the Dog Days that are coming up in Playgroundz 7 and 10 aren't good enough because who wants their dogs running on pavement? Absolutely infuriating letter. This entitled rage-filled woman and her precious Fido.
The landscaping is the best thing about this development - sometimes I feel like I'm living in the Botanical Gardens, but we all know the way these oblivious dog owners let their precious Fidos pee and defecate on the grass, and literally run over flowers that aren't fenced off.
Not to mention the constant barking, even late at night when do owners walk precious Fido and congregate like a doggie party outside bedroom windows when tenants are trying to enjoy a quiet night at home (ha, ha) or even sleep!.
That's why, Bobbi, your rant in T&V has fallen on deaf ears and if you want the grass for Fido, go to Tompkins Q. Park or the park behind Beth Israel. Or move to Waterside Plaza. Lots of company for you and your very precious "child" Fido.
That oval movie is loud. Who wants to hear that crap. I am so sick of their bogus amenities that are an annoyance. Those of us living on the oval have to endure this.
"The House Rules" were likely taken down at the request of the leasing reps and brokers.
Think about it, their two types of prospective new renters are young people, who'll take one look at that and think it's overbearing, and young families who'll think this place must be some kind of dorm full of brats who have to be told to be civil and considerate.
Atomic Man, the place is full of brats .......!
Eh the landscaping has gone nutsO. They can turn it down. We can still have nice grass and trees but the constant pruning, cutting, edging, cutting, noise crap and pulling and planting has to stop. No one cares TBH, they will spend millions on this lipstick. pig and spending our rent roll to do it.
StuyTown bank developers and the Tobacco Industry
"Citi analyst to clients: Cool it with the tobacco-shaming already"
Smoking in Stuy Town apartments especially during loud crowded college parties, is a problem. Property services - TA do nothing about stopping actual smokers while using the no smoking policy to harass rent stabilized nonsmokers with false accusations.
If politicians were anti-smoking they would target banks to divest from tobacco industry instead of a stupid tax increase policy to make the city richer from smokers. Getting share of profits by taxing cigarettes makes the city complicit with tobacco industry harmful ways but then again the tobacco settlement is a scam too.
Making the rich richer is policy of current politicians so of course they tax cigarettes instead of divesting in tobacco industry. Getting richer from tobacco and public harm is also the Stuy Town developer Citibank Citigroup way as they audaciously just admitted on May 10, 2017.
Citigroup wants the smoking shaming to stop which won't be hard for duplicitous politicians who use smoking as a platform for headlines or selective weapon to use for whomever developers want to rid rather than a genuine concern for public health.
This Amsterdam bank is leading the way for banks to divest in tobacco industry. Until better politicians are in office, we can't rely on sound public policies so the public could get banks to divest. Politicians care about 2 things, money and national platform headlines and not at all about Public good, obviously seeing their disastrous Stuy Town community results.
As unscrupulous and dishonorable as US banks are, maybe some are less debauched than the Stuy Town developer banks and cess pool of current politicians, and maybe those other banks will follow ABN Amro bank in divesting from tobacco.
"Dutch bank bans loans to tobacco industry on health grounds
The Netherlands’ third-largest bank ABN Amro said Wednesday that it is ratcheting up its battle against smoking and will no longer extend credit to clients in the tobacco industry."
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/jul/06/dutch-bank-refuses-loans-to-tobacco-industry-on-health-grounds
part 2
"Citi analyst to clients: Cool it with the tobacco-shaming already"
"Citigroup analyst Vikram Rai thinks they can earn returns in the “high teens” this year because of the securities’ high coupons.
Given our Modern World of Internet Moral Outrage™, Rai clearly finds it frustrating that clients worry so much about the ethics of investing in tobacco bonds. He’s told investors this before: They can take advantage of the yield earned by a Bad Thing, without necessarily endorsing that Bad Thing.
…well, they will have higher returns if more people do this particular Bad Thing, because of the way the tobacco payments to states are structured. But heck, 30-year Treasury bonds only yield 3.03 per cent.
https://ftalphaville.ft.com/2017/05/10/2188541/citi-analyst-to-clients-cool-it-with-the-tobacco-shaming-already/?mhq5j=e2
From Rai, with our emphasis on the extra-pedantic bits:
Tobacco remains a morally objectionable sector for at least some of our clients and thus we apologize for constantly revisiting the sector in advance. In our defense, the somewhat consistent outperformance of tobacco bonds makes it very hard for us to ignore this sector. As we have discussed before: Does tobacco use present health risks? It certainly does. Will an increase in cigarette shipments be beneficial for outstanding tobacco bonds? Yes, it will. But, will investing in tobacco bonds somehow cause an increase in cigarette shipments and indirectly exhort people to smoke more? No, it will not. And, do some tobacco bonds seem like good investments in a market which is starved for yield? We believe they do, and we discuss."
Municipal tobacco bonds are essentially claims on a stream of payments from cigarette companies to US states, as part of a settlement meant to reimburse states for the cost of healthcare for smokers.
The way the bonds were structured means that the yearly payments from the tobacco companies to the states depend on US tobacco sales. So… more US smoking means better returns.
But hey, as long as you’re up for buying bonds of industries with bad atmospheric consequences, Citi’s Rai says they could be a nice hedge for high-yield energy producers’ bonds! We will spare you the quip about an explosive combination: ....Still, “the fundamentals provide supportive grounds for timely interest and scheduled principal payments to MSA tobacco bonds,” Rai writes. (And he would really appreciate it if you chilled out with the anti-smoking stuff, OK??)"
It is looking more and more probable that Tenant Association Board Members are among those holding multiple leases, bulk leases on multiple Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Village apartments.
"It is looking more and more probable that Tenant Association Board Members are among those holding multiple leases, bulk leases on multiple Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Village apartments."
I’m sorry, I have no problem with fierce/legit criticism of the TA (and there’s plenty real stuff out there for that) but this conspiracy crap is BS, there is ZERO proof for this. Letting this carp through on this blog degrades the conversation here and gives Blackstone a good reason to laugh their heads off on the real value content that this blog provides
8:42
I think the TA is absolutely useless and in bed with management and Garodnick, but that comment seems a bit ridiculous. What makes you think they would have any use of extra apartments? I can almost guarantee Blackstone isn't giving the TA any discount bulk leases.
I don't think the TA gets extra apartments, but aside from a regular opposition to MCIs, I think the TA is not active by far. There numerous things wrong with this place (and some things right), but the TA should be dealing with the wrong things front and center. The TA has the opinion that they avoid ruffling the feathers of Management, Public Safety or Garodnick, the latter of whom they have been in obvious bed with for the long time. (And the bed part is just a figure of speech. LOL.) Unless you think this place is wonderful (except for not allowing you and your friends to watch the July 4th fireworks from a ST roof), this place has abundant problems that should be addressed, and not by just voices on the TA Facebook page.
5:50PM Thursday
ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE F*CKING 'CONCERTS'
ALL I WANT IS SOME PEACE AND QUIET
ANYONE FOR A CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE ACT LETS SAY OCCUPY THE STAGE AND INTERRUPT THE NOISE
What is that loud noise coming from the Oval? I was too tired to walk down there, but it sounded like they were bidding on Stuy Town apartments on sale? Is this part of those concerts? Is Management crazy?
I know I'm repeating myself, but I have never seen or heard this place so bad as nowadays. Way to go Rick and Blackstone! (Sorry, but I'm not leaving.)
Oval movies on Wednesdays and concerts on Thursdays. Blackstone is pushing these disruptive non amenities on us without our input. They are super annoying.
What is that loud noise coming from the Oval? I was too tired to walk down there, but it sounded like they were bidding on Stuy Town apartments on sale? Is this part of those concerts? Is Management crazy?
"Music on the Oval Continues
Thursdays through August 10th, 6-8pm on the Oval
Get a bite at Five Stuy Café, set up a blanket, and enjoy the impressive array of acoustic performances scheduled for StuyTown’s Thursday evening Music on the Oval series.
July 6th-6-8pm: Garland Jeffreys is a true living legend. He began playing Manhattan clubs in the 1960s, and has helped shape American music for nearly 60 years. Having shared stages with Bruce Springsteen, Dr. John, Lou Reed, and many others, his music is powerful, complex, and timeless. His newest release "14 Steps To Harlem" has received praise from Billboard, USA Today, and Huffington Post, among others."
This guy lives in PCVST. Wonder if he, like me, lives facing the Oval for this concert BS. F***ing loud. I really don’t give a shit how "renowned" this guy is in the music industry, I don’t want any of my favorite bands playing the Oval for these Carnival Cruise rube BS concerts either. But many tenants, including long term tenants, love these so called “amenities". But do they live facing the Oval? Clueless. "For residents and theirs guests only". BTW, SPS doesn't even bother with that caveat anymore nor do they check IDs for Oval access for these crap events.
Truly disgusting what this place has become! The so-called "concert" this evening on the Oval was the final indignity.
People just want to come home after a day's work to a peaceful and quiet abode.
Instead we get this amusement park-like "entertainment"...incessant noise...another amenity, huh Rick?
You are truly a fraud and a disgrace.
You and your overseers, Blackstone, worship at the altar of Mammon.
Suck every last dime out of this place. That's the business plan, right?
Rick is an abysmal failure and should be sent back to Boca. This place SUCKS BIG TIME!!!! NOBODY in their right mind should rent here. Only students, suckers and airbnb rent here and pay through the nose to be abused. I have contempt for them for being so stupid.
"I know I'm repeating myself, but I have never seen or heard this place so bad as nowadays. Way to go Rick and Blackstone! (Sorry, but I'm not leaving.)"
Even under Tishman Speyer and the bloodsucking CWC it wasn't this bad! It gets worse every day. We're supposed to be grateful and appreciative of DiBlasio, Garodnick, Steinberg, Schumer and the rest of the Gang of Corruption for getting us into the clutches of Blackstone? Gimme a break!
I like Garland Jeffreys, but what I heard sounded like an auction. LOL.
Before the concerts, a tent is sent up for "Oval Office." I guess the "Office" packs up before the concerts start.
TA MEMBERS HAVE multiple apartments? What does that even mean? How, why, where? How do you know this? what do they do with multiple units?
Let Garland Jeffries do his thing in a real stadium or venue, not on the fucking lawn right under people's apartments. I don't want to be forced to listen to this shit when I come home from a day of hard work and after dealing with the 1 train and the L train. I always hope for a heavy downpour when these stinking "concerts" are scheduled. It's like living in some king of mental institution or home for the demented where they put on "concerts" for the poor patients who sit and rock and drool all day and need a bit of cacophony to stimulate them.
Lawsuits, lawsuits, lawsuits.
This place is hundreds, if not thousands, of lawsuits waiting to happen. If I was an attorney, I'd set up shop in the Oval next to the Thursday afternoon management office. There is so much money to be made from this mismanaged hellhole, so an attorney would do very well here.
Bottom line folks, this place blows!
Too bad it didn't rain yesterday the way it's raining today. It would have washed out that bullshit concert and I could have had my evening meal in peace and even opened the windows because it was not oppressively hot yesterday. Darn!
Shittin' and Pissin' in the sty! Life is good.
People are paying over $3400 for a one bedroom in this slum......this is really happening.
Hayduck gets a freebie though.
The whining and complaining on the blog here might blow off some steam for Anonymous residents but it also dangerously consolidates legitimate concerns in one tidy place and allows SPS to attribute to trolls and a small but vocal few. Spread the opinions and eyewitness accounts a-c-r-o-S-S social media with hashtags and tags to the TA, T&V, Garodnick, Blackstone, and SPS to get attention. Also the TA only registers valid complaints and topics if you call their hotline. That's why they can get away with saying "we only got one complaint about x, y, z " when they meet with Rick and Co.
So many people are going through hell here with all the renovations and endless noise. People are paying an arm and a leg to live here on a construction site with the most callous and sadistic landlord.
Thanks a lot TA and DeBozio and Garodnick for selling us out to Blackhole! May you all get yours!
I am soo happy that my lease expires at the end of this month. Worst decision ever to live here. Good luck to ya'll!
Also we just decided to end our lease. Far better places closer to a subway cheaper and with normal ac. WHAT THE FUCK is wrong with the new apartments and the ac. Total crap, loud as a jet plane.
sps is what
The TA does not address any resident complaints. When you contact them their answer is "E-mail Hayduk." AS for getting the attention of Blackstone and Garodnick, they know what is going on here and could care less. T&V only prints articles favorable to management. It is clear that the TA and T&V are arms of management and Garodnick is looking to higher office. He is never heard from anymore.

I agree with you, but unfortunately many people fear retribution from management if they voice their complaints. This is especially true of older rent stabilized tenants.
I think if people weren't afraid of losing the only home they have known, the complaints would be very very long (and very very true).
My question for Rick and Blackstone is easy, and not a complaint:
How the hell do you plan for the infrastructure to handle these massive changes you are undertaking?
Plumbing, electric, elevators, walls and flooring, etc. are all in serious danger of failing at this rate.
There are a few people at the TA Facebook whose sole purpose it is to show us how much they love the place and probably "win" awards, too. It can make me ill, but I prefer to laugh, when someone seriously states "God bless Stuyvesant Town." This message, (which could state Stuy Town, for short) is there now. As I laugh, I just shake my head and think, "Do you live in the same place I do?"
>>How the hell do you plan for the infrastructure to handle these massive changes you are undertaking?Plumbing, electric, elevators, walls and flooring, etc. are all in serious danger of failing at this rate.<<
I am not Rick and Blackstone (and they haven't even answered the TA posters directly, face to face) but let me respond that Rick will get to the problem when it arises; meanwhile you have Rick and Blackstone's sympathy. This their typical BS talk, but as long as the figures of making money are good, Rick and Blackstone do not care. I've seen so many infractions of the rules (just now I've seen dozens in the last hour) that I must believe that Rick and Blackstone ultimately do not care, as long as the "numbers" are good.
"In the City Council race for the seat currently occupied by a term-limited Dan Garodnick, a Peter Cooper Village resident has recently stepped in as a candidate, with a platform of affordable housing and maintaining quality of life in the district.
Barry Shapiro, 72, who’s lived in Peter Cooper for 25 years (with another 15 in Stuyvesant Town before that), said he entered the race “quietly” in April and is now in the process of petitioning."

"Rick and Blackstone ultimately do not care, as long as the "numbers" are good."
Always remember we are talking about Black$tone.
On what planet could anyone equipped with a brain, even a dysfunctional half-brain, possibly believe Black$tone cares a Flying F#!k about anything except the "numbers" are good?
Never forget we are talking about Black$tone.
"sps is what"
Sorry, a) you have internet/search engine access, b) you just posted at a specific PCVST related blog and c) I assume you currently live here and yet you don't know what SPS is? No wonder we are screwed, ignorance is NOT bliss.
To quote the STR: "As I laugh, I just shake my head and think, "Do you live in the same place I do?"

SPS = Public Safety? = Stuytown Public Safety? = ??
I have internet/search engine access.
I am posting on a specific PCVST related blog.
I currently live here.
I also don't know what SPS is. Or VGA and a few other acronyms insulting trolls keep posting on STR.

"Also the TA only registers valid complaints and topics if you call their hotline. That's why they can get away with saying "we only got one complaint about x, y, z " when they meet with Rick and Co."
BS! Anyone not seeing degraded QOL, illegal transients, illegal dogs and dogshit everywhere is willfully blind. Dating back to at least 2010, the TA Board has been continuously lying to and insulting all of their 25,000 PCVST neighbors/constituents.
Largest TA according to the NY Times?
PCVST TA Board is the absolute worst TA ever in NYC history according to PCVST residents. Like their owner Garodnick, they are backstabbing sleaze that should be ashamed to show their faces in public around this complex.
Speaking of dogs, the residents of my building generally bring sweat fido down to the laundry room with them. One of them even sits the dog in the laundry carts.
July 5, 2017 at 11:19 AM
You need to tell whoever this inconsiderate a**hole is that dogs are NOT allowed in laundry rooms. There should be a sign up in your laundry rooms with the rules and "no dogs" on there. Point it out to the jerk, if you have to.Too many fu*king entitled dog owners don't get that there are people who don't like dogs, who are afraid of dogs, who are allergic to dogs, who don't want someone's dog slobbering all over the them, sniffing them, jumping on them or licking them.
Rest assured that the TA does bring up with Rick Hayduk the many QOL issues that we all know exist. The problem is that he and Blackstone aren't willing to address the problems in a substantive way. They're only concerned about the bottom line. You can be mad at the TA all you want, but, in reality, they have limited power to effect the kind of change that they and we know is necessary. You have to have a willing partner on the other side to do that and Hayduk and Blackstone aren't willing partners. Anything that costs money that they don't want to spend or requires manpower that they aren't willing to pay for isn't going to happen. Sad and unfortunate but true.
7.43 PM here.
"I have internet/search engine access."
Really? You could have fooled me. I just Googled “SPS Stuyvesant Town”. My 3rd link result hit as per that search:
“StuyTown's Good Neighbors Community Outreach - Stuyvesant Town
https://www.stuytown.com/Good-Neighbors
StuyTown Property Services (SPS) is joining the 9th annual Kids for Kids Family Fun Day for St. Jude, one of the largest and most successful annual charity ...”
My 9th link result hit as per that search:
“a .. Stuy Town management hires new COO and CFO | Town & Village
https://town-village.com/2017/04/17/stuy-town-management-hires-new-coo-and-cfo/
Apr 17, 2017 - By Sabina Mollot Stuyvesant Town Property Services, the now year-old ... Like SPS chief executive officer Rick Hayduk, Vohs has worked ...”
From the link:
“Stuyvesant Town Property Services, the now year-old subsidiary of Blackstone created for the management of Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper, has recently completed a round of hires, including two in upper management.”
" also don't know what SPS is. Or VGA and a few other acronyms insulting trolls keep posting on STR."
This info has been out there for over a year. For someone who has obviously not been following current events , does not even know how to use a search engine, or just being lazy, you have a lot of nerve to call anyone here a “troll". No wonder that Blackstone/SPS laughs at the some of the comments posted here, nothing to fear from the clueless.
I generally I'm not a fan of acronyms, but that is me, I guess.
Anyway, I think just bitching is okay, as it lets those who look (and you may be surprised by their identity) know the bitching even if they do not act upon it. And even if they do not act? So what? At least they know.
When I read that anyone is in a similar situation, it gives me a feeling that I am not alone. The feeling of being alone can be stifling. At least reading that someone else has the same feelings can be morale bracing.
And can you imagine if there was NOTHING. No one said anything. Then we would think our feelings are really strange.... LOL.
I didn't think 7:43 was a troll. It is true that management probably doesn't take this blog seriously, and if they did, posts like the one about the TA warehousing multiple apartments would probably make them question the motives of some of the posters on here.
Although we remain anonymous, we need to remain honest in what we post (by we I mean us anonymous posters, not STR since he does a lot of research regarding what he posts). If you know something is definitely not right, report it on here. What we don't need are people posting about complete crap like the TA warehousing, or te hawk being used by management to monitor RS apartments from the outside (never said on here, but I'm sure some would believe it!).
The fights currently at the TA Facebook tell me that there is a lot of anger. In a perverse way that is good. There should be anger. This complex is not run the way it should be run.
"I generally I'm not a fan of acronyms, but that is me, I guess."
Then I guess "TA" and "RS" should not be used anymore?
Speaking of the TA. These comments were posted on 5/16/17 at another recent thread at the STR blog:
"The TA needs to prepare itself. There is a large group of market raters that are fed up with their inaction, and we are just about ready to come forward with an alternative group that will make sure things get done. We have more than enough legal backing within the group that our voices will no longer be suppressed by management or the current TA.
You heard it here first, now just get ready for our official launch in the very near future. We will fight for all tenants, MR and RS, and we will not have an annual fee as we will be a true volunteer organization from top to bottom.
May 16, 2017 at 12:47 PM
can vouch for 12:47. I was at the meeting that was held at a friends midtown office, and there were 63 of us in attendance. Mostly young professionals with families living in market rate apartments, but there were a few rent stabilized tenants there.
As for some people questioning the initial poster, I understand. Things can seem far fetched on a daily basis with the things people say. We are not here as an alternative TA, we just want to give tenants a true forum to air their quality of life grievances with the support of other tenants.
May 16, 2017 at 10:25 PM"
It is now 7/8/17. Per usual, cue in tumble weeds and crickets. The TA is dead. Long live the TA. And this conspiracy crap that TA is in league with management? The TA is incompetent. Why would Blackstone partner up with such an incompetent organization? Saying the TA sucks over and over again without doing anything does nothing. As I have previously posted, time to move on and use your time and money for a relevant city wide tenants’ rights group such the Metropolitan Council on Housing.
http://metcouncilonhousing.org/about_us
This article describes precisely what the Mayors office and Albany are doing when it comes to the NYC subway system! Create a crisis disaster then rush in some corporate fixer. This is their game. The older politicians are using old tricks to play old games on the public. The Governor wants to run for President so he is creating a hell on earth crisis to then swoop in with taxpayer and or private favored donors to be the hero that fixes the press deemed hell on earth subway crisis.
A person worthy of being President would have never let the subway become hell on earth, would be ashamed of a hell on earth status or really a second one as we all saw this trick with La Guardia airport deemed a third world country airport before the caped-crusading Governor and his pals swooped in. Creating hell on earth subway is creating a platform to run for President if he fixes the subway. What a hero. Sorry, but not buying it this time around. They spend billions building a subway for Brookfield and Tishman Speyer developers at Hudson Yards, billions building a subway station at the old World Financial Center for developers Brookfield and a Second Ave Subway for Brookfield and Blackstone StuyTown development while they let the rest of the entire subway system and subway cars rot in hell on earth.
This is a con game that is played out and unworthy of a Presidential Candidate.

Rumor has it almost 90% of our building thus far is planning a new t.a. - mainly MRaters.
I'm all for a new TA. The current one is abysmal.
And... once again, I saw non-lanyard dogs being casually walked through the property, and bicycles being pedaled about the Oval. Even with a PS officer in the little guard house who just looks at his phone if he is not outside.
Perhaps "Peter Stuyvesant" is cracking up. I was just at the TA Facebook and "Peter" has just posted a dog link that is exactly the same link posted the other day in the thread. Way to go, "Peter"!
"Perhaps "Peter Stuyvesant" is cracking up. I was just at the TA Facebook and "Peter" has just posted a dog link that is exactly the same link posted the other day in the thread. Way to go, "Peter"!"
I think there are a few Peter Stuyvesants and they probably don't all read every thread and post on the TA Facebook page. I can't see anyone with an actual life having the time to read all that drivel.
>>As quickly as the group got going, we hit some roadblocks.<<
I would not be too concerned about roadblocks. As for Rick, one can always meet him, if he is around, at Oval Office on Thursday.
Since this is anonymous, the person who wants a post deleted has be be a bit more specific.
I see four dogs together, at one of the chess tables. No dog has a lanyard, and the owners are just siting as if they own the place.
I also see bicycles being ridden around the Oval. No PS officer is stopping them.
Wait, a PS officer has just turned up. He is resting. Does not approach the ladies with the dogs.
The PS officer has approached. This after hearing something on his phone. Long conversation. But the ladies and their dogs remain. LOL.
"I must believe that Rick and Blackstone ultimately do not care, as long as the "numbers" are good."
Have you seen all of the availability and the incentives they are giving to people to help them rent apartments in this slum STR? Why do you think their number are good?
I know what I've seen, even this morning: Loads of people (okay, most of them, it not all, are young, maybe students) being shown the property. Sell, sell, sell...
We are coming upon 200 comments. I do have a new posting, which I'm mulling over, but I will post.
"I know what I've seen, even this morning: Loads of people (okay, most of them, it not all, are young, maybe students) being shown the property. Sell, sell, sell..."
I agree that that is the goal. I'm just questioning whether or not they are being successful. I don't believe that they are. Go to their website and just look at the availability. It's staggering. The word appears to be out regarding this dump. This is a good thing.
I think that they are still making a lot of money on these apartments by utilizing creative and underhanded ways of renting. this includes : city assisted, dorms, air bnb, corporate apartments, etc. They have numerous deals with colleges, the city, and other entities to rent out this dump. Of course not too many families or professionals will pay the rents to live here in Pig Stuy. I do know that apartments on my floor have been filled in a coupe of weeks after tenants vacating.(students and one which appears to be city assisted). I also encounter many tourists.
Today was the first day I can remember in the recent past when the place seems quiet and peaceful. At least in my neck of the woods. This place would be heaven on earth if it wasn't for the constant noise, especially construction noise.
I was out on LI last night at a graduation party and folk were talking about rentals in NYC and asked me about this place. I told them exactly what it is like and recommended against it. Some of the young professionals were interested because they have jobs in Manhattan and the LIRR is becoming hellish, especially now they are doing some overdue repairs to Penn Station. They said they'd heard that PCV and ST had become dorms and they didn't fancy going to live in a place that would remind them of what they had left behind not-too-long-ago! They'd heard that some of the apartments were quite spacious and the grounds relaxing. They must have read some of the sales blurb. I described exactly what it is like here on a daily basis, i.e., construction noise, constant moving in and out, noisy trucks and leaf-blowers and screechy twenty-somethings. They got the picture. They won't be renting here! They said they were going to check out the Yelp reviews (at my suggestion) because they had heard it was a dorm, but were unaware of the constant construction noise and how Management just tells tenants (even if they are paying top dollar to live here) to suck it up.
It's a shame because this could really be a great place to live if it had the right kind of management. We moved here just prior to the time it went market rate (early 2001) and we thought we'd died and gone to heaven. That "heaven" has become more like hell over the past 17 years, but we lucked into a good rent and aren't going away until we retire several years down the road. Then our son might want to stay here, but I doubt it.
I must admit, I do not have the flex stuff apartment but i dont get it. How do the families who get that wall up , flex it , get any air conditioning there or get any heat - damn fuck ac of ours broke last week and it was stifling in stuy. i can't imagine how that room gets air. comments from those who have rented this flex stuff, families do it, students do it who the hell can live today without heat and ac. real replies only por favor.
"Slum" is the right word for this dump. They are turning it into a tenement slum and they are breaking the law because they pay-off our political "representatives" and agencies to look the other way.
Blackstone has a reputation for gobbling up distressed rental property and then shitting all over the tenants in order to churn and raise rents. It's not just here. They are the quintessential bloodsucking parasites.
What's all the complaining about?
Just email your concerns to Rick the Dick.
He will smile and yes you to death and then everything will be OK!
No more dog shit, no more loud noise, no more carpetless floors, no more churning of apartments, no more dormification and no more "amenities".
Good grief, how can we live without those wonderful concerts?
With the increase of crimes a case could be made that the key card system the NYPD supposedly recommended to MetLife is a failure. It is obvious the key card system did not make the property safer. In fact it made the property more dangerous from increase in crimes, increase in violent crimes, and abuse by predatory real estate developers harassing tenants.
However, the case should be made for the entire complex and not just PCV and should be brought by anyone other than these three:
http://law.justia.com/cases/new-york/other-courts/2004/2004-51137.html
Oh, btw, today is the first day of the "Summer of Hell." Welcome. New York City is going through massive construction projects to include our own complex. Aren't you thrilled?
Also we will reach 200 comments now. I believe you can keep on going, but you have to move a bit. I will be updating with a new comment soon.
His cozy pay to play relationship with developers got federal attention despite the technicality he used to slither out of it. Still, developers win and so do all those living on the surrounding blocks whose property value will enormously increase once the Mayor develops Peter Cooper Village, including this NBC Universal Law & Order tv actor's home 1/2 block away from Stuyvesant Town.
