Our landlord, BLACKSTONE, can't handle Stuy Town and Peter Cooper Village. There is a lack of enforcement of certain "rules," and no amount of notice to this alleviates the problems. We are continually being told half-truths and fabrications. And we have no viable Tenants organization, despite our TA asking for dues all the time. So far, the politicians have proven to be basically useless. A typical New York story.

Online Storyteller and other Positions are Open!
So Stuyvesant Town Property Services, which does such a wonderful job in this community listening to tenants and actively working to make their lives better, is seeking various positions in their office, one of those positions being a "storyteller." They are also seeking someone who can write English, as they can be challenged a bit on proper grammar and spelling. The CEO (we assume Rick) is a funny guy who welcomes anyone coming into his office to tell him he's wrong. And in case you missed it, Gumby works in the office, too. I knew he was around someplace.
"We have a CEO that will make fun of himself and would welcome you to come into his office and tell him he was wrong. If any of that sounds interesting, then maybe we are a fit. Life is too short to work with people you dont like. So whatever you do, dont make that mistake."
And:
"We know that if we take care of our team everything else will fall into place. We arent perfect, but we will try to set very clear expectations, always let you know where you stand, and do everything in our power to help you get where you want to go. We dont have any best place to work awards, but that will change soon. Just watch."
Hat-tip: STR reader.

By "storyteller" they mean "liar." It's a euphemism.
Forget the storyteller.
How about some fu*kin' heat?
It sure was cold in my apartment last night. It's absolutely ridiculous here. Had to put on two sweatshirts and a pair of wool socks. This place is horrible to live in.
Missing Stuyvesant Town laundry carts in front of O'Hanlon's bar on 14th Street the other day.
Just lovely. Keep renting to these people. You'll see. What goes around, comes around.

The online storyteller wrote a nice piece in Town and Village about heat, and how great things are. You can’t make this crap up!
I get my heat by operating my oven to broil. I'd rather die of the fumes than freeze to death.
What other choice do I have? At least my living room is now warm. Cheers.
Management has no real worries. The tenants who say negative things are labelled either as troublemakers or malcontents who are never satisfied. It is quite ridiculous that I've never seen an outside dog walker escorted out of ST or PCV. But there are two warnings, a year apart, that say that will happen. And yet the excuses from Management are there. Pretty soon the betting by Management is that you will give up and just accept things. Read my lips: The responsibility for what goes on here is completely Blackstone's. They just don't care (and I've sent them letters), as long as other things are taken care of. They will BS, make excuses, embrace the good PR. Same with PS.
And you have tenants (sorry, the new ones especially) that take it all in and are satisfied because it is "New York"--and they are paying a lot of money.
I have to say I am still laughing big time at that search for people to work at Stuy Town. The person who wrote this is a comedian par excellence. Gumby. LOL.
From the TA Facebook page:
"TA President Susan Steinberg told Town & Village she recently got a guided tour of the heat system, and it appears to be working fine."
A guided tour, no less!
TA President Susan Steinberg...
What a loser, what a fraud.
It's actually from a T&V article:

There's something almost surreal about how this management operates. Are they former Disneyworld employees? This is a residential apartment complex in the most important - and supposedly sophisticated - city in the nation and they talk about online storytelling, cruiseship and resort experience. It's already well on the way to being a dorm and illegal short stay illegal hotel enterprise. It's pathetic. Just keep the grounds clean, safe shit-free and take care of the trees, grass and plantings; keep the buildings clean, safe and warm so that people can enjoy the homes that they are paying through the nose for. That's all the majority of us ask. Spare us the Disney/Cruise ship/Resort shit. We don't need it and don't want it. Get a clue Mr. H. This is not Boca and we don't want it to be fucking Boca! Thank you!
Sounds like they already have a fleet of story tellers. I mean we all live here and nothing gets better, right ?
I have the perfect title for the next storytellers book, it's called " IRREVERSABLE NIGHTMARE'
or. 'GONE FOREVER"
Obviously these were the same credentials required of Peter W, who is the greatest storyteller of them all on Yelp. Someone has to be really messed up in the head to write and believe the responses he’s writing on Yelp. One can only hope he doesn’t believe what he writes, but unfortunately I believe this management strongly believes the things being written by them about them.
I HATE LIVING HERE. MOST OF THE TENANTS HERE ARE SOO RUDE AND DON'T TALK TO YOU. DOGS CONSTANTLY BARKING AT ALL HOURS OF THE NIGHT AND THE OWNERS COULD CARE LESS. I CANT WAIT TO MOVE OUT OF THIS PLACE. I HAVE HAD IT!
Mail carrier at 4 peter cooper. Constant missing of mail. Torn, missing items @ times also. Where to report this and is this carrier looking for tip only residents??????????????????
Ditto!
As someone who once worked for the Post Office (a long time ago), I know that all mail should be handled correctly and secure when it is placed in your PO box. If it is too large, then at attempt should be made to deliver the package to whomever answers your door. Signed, too, if needed. In our buildings, the carrier can leave the package at the door, but that appears not too secure, depending on the building and the outsider who is on your floor. Management could create a permanent doorman that accepts all packages, but that is too much money for Blackstone, it seems.
You could, of course, use "Oval Services," and pay for the privilege. But that "service" does not come free with your rent.
In my building (445) there are two mailboxes that are broken and have been that way for a very long time. The doors on those mailboxes are permanently open because the locks are broken. I guess the people (I know they are dorm apartments) don't care and clearly the mail carrier is not going to report the problem.
Are these morons kidding me??? After spending money on those stickers in the elevators telling to keep your kids away from the doors, they’ve already replaced them with new cardboard like material signs stating the same thing.
Rick, we know you read this... are you guys morons? There are so many things that could and should have taken priority over the replacement of these elevator signs, and to make matters worse, these signs look like crap.
The signage in this place is out of control, and what started out as a good thing has now just become a tacky eyesore.
eh? Does Canadian count as english you hosers!
We just rented a 2 bedroom in Lincoln Center for less than $2900. The deals are out there and there will be more soon, don't give up.
My sister just rented a two bedroom lower east for 3000 and it is really nice with great views and not far walk at all to F train. Walk to soho in ten minutes. and their laundry rooms are better and cheaper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Would the lincoln center mind posting the address or broke? We are breaking lease getting out. Too many reasons to list but life here is unbearable. Read it on Yelp later after we leave.
It looks like Blackstone is dropping monthly listing prices for market rate units inside this dorm dump to the same $ amount rent levels most "affordable" lottery winners will pay.
Do lucky lottery winners get free Internet/CATV too?
If not, they will pay more than market rate.
Did Stuy Town find their new Grimm storyteller yet?
Did Stuy Town find their new Grimm storyteller yet?
They already have one. His name is Rick Hayduk.
I’m still waiting for a story! Where are our damn stories?! If we call Abigail Breslin will they deliver books?!?
Rick Haddock where are the stories? Should I email you?
Why do they need more storytellers? With Rick and Peter W, they already have two of the best around.
