How about some supervision?

I didn't mean to have another video so soon, but I saw this yesterday evening. I'm sorry, but John or Jane just can't do what they want. This is not Lord of the Flies.

Seriously we are on this again?? With all that is wrong here we are going to complain about kids using chalk that will wash away the next time it rains (tonight)?? My kids and all their friends used chalk here 30+ years ago, and I will let my grandkids use chalk here when they visit.

Yes, the kids should have picked up their chalk, but otherwise this is a non-issue for me.

Yes, this is unsightly, but dog crap and uncovered discarded mattresses are worse. And whatever happened with the spray-paint defacement that occurred few months ago on playground fencing? Are any remnants thereof still present? Probably the offending tenants still are....

Yes. This isn't about doodling on the sidewalk, but heavy chalk left that someone could fall from. This is a violation. The video tells the story.

As to doodling, I was a parent too, and I don't remember the lax attitude of some parents or nannies these days. Anyway, take a look at the video and tell me if you are alright with the chalk left on the sidewalk.

Failure on the part of the parents.

Gone by now. Of course, there was BS concerning a parent promising to clean it up and PS's ultimate response.

The cheapskates run most rampant on local bus routes, where one in every four riders skirts the fare, representing a 35-percent spike from the same time period in 2018.<<

The so-called Select Buses, originated by Bloomberg, continued/ expanded by De Blasio, and promoted by Hoylman, helped increase fare evasion. Of course, the typically-fake MTA Study doesn't dwell on that. (M23 Selects also arrive and proceed no faster than the former 'regular' M23.) But a fake solution has already been found: Signs are now up in most buses, stating "Hey there, please pay your fare." Same kind of Happy Talk that Blackstone constantly employs here....

The chalk:

STR is exactly right. As I write much of the time here: JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING BLACKSTONE AND THEIR SPAWN DO HERE IS DANGEROUS, INJURIOUS, ILLEGAL, UNHEALTHFUL and so forth.

AND there is a dearth of parenting here (and in the city and country, generally).

Just as the building hallways and stairwells, and the grounds are NOT TOILETS for dogs, humans, or anyone else who isn't a squirrel, bird, insect, and such, THE HALLWAYS AND GROUNDS ARE NOT YOUR GODDAMNED TOYCHEST OR CLOSET.

The stupid, lazy, selfish, moron, idiot, self-involved jackass danger-to-all factor multiplies geometrically all over the goddamned city (stores, sidewalks, roadways, restaurants, parks, subways, highways etc., etc. A miserable creature masquerading as an older mother yesterday led her dear progeny out of a playground to PLAY SOCCER WITH HIM ON AN OVAL PATHWAY.

I consider her to be right up there with the b*tch riding around the Oval with her young daughter on a bike right behind her.)

The behaviors that too many people are accepting as normal are NOT normal, and they sure as hell aren't good for anyone.

"Select Buses:"

OF COURSE, THIS IS PRECISELY TO INVITE AND ENCOURAGE ALL TO RIDE FOR FREE.

It is all in the same vein as the previous writer at 10:25 a.m. observed: "Same kind of Happy Talk that Blackstone constantly employs here...."

Does anybody reading any of this truly not UNDERSTAND that all of this horseshit (apologies to the horses) Orwellian doublespeak in the face of invitation to dangerous and provocative behavior IS NOT DELIBERATE???

The human sadists or whatever the hell they are who came up with the Select Bus Service "honor system" knew precisely what they are doing. I can only speculate on their many twisted reasons . . .

Could be, too. The "designs" were a bit too adultish.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

I have to say that I am a bit disturbed by the claim of "it's just chalk." That's not what my vblog was about, though I have opinions about that, too. No, what I showed were large pieces of chalk, left on the sidewalk where people walk. I have read, and even have a close family member experience, bones broken or being hurt on the sidewalk. Bones, fragile at a certain age, can break from a fall. Not to be too dramatic, but these elderly can even die. It has happened. So, yes, some things here are more important, but if you slip and fall on a piece of chalk and break a bone, it is very important. We all have to think of possible consequences, even from apparently innocent things.

What exactly does the "Jesus F**k" comment mean? The exclamation is nonsensical. Please parse it. More important:

It could be considered highly insensitive, insulting, and offensive to those of the Christian faith. Hell, even those of the Jewish faith might have a hard time with it.

As for "just kick the chalk to the side:" hmmmm ... precisely what kind of slob and selfish creature are you? Back to the philosophy of "The world is my garbage pail," or "The world is my toilet," the currently VERY popular, "F you; I can do what I want!" school of deficient human creatures.

Did no one in your life teach you: "CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF."?

Do you have any faint ideas regarding the meaning of "common" or "shared" space? I hasten to add that a whole helluva lot of New Yorkers share that failing with you.

And yes, genius - people trip over objects and end up permanently disabled, or in seriously bad shape for months, or DEAD after lots and lots of suffering.

The legality (enforcement) of motorized bikes with the motor running, and club cars crossing 20 street.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

>>What is this flyer that has the Blackstone TA so upset?<<

The TA claims it doesn't take sides, but they are upset about a candidate's email that just was addressed to "residents." Apparently, some members felt it was officially from the TA! Didn't say so in the letter (and I read the PDF of it), so I don't know what their beef is.

Interestingly, a candidate who is supported by Councilman Powers (and his people were the most flagrant violators here, and Powers was nearby several times) gets high marks, with members (at least a few that post on the TA Facebook) say they are supporting the Powers choice because of the "residents" letter!

Several posts ago said to google a man named Alex Jones.

Alex Jones is saying that Sandy Hook CT mass shooting at the school never happened. The parents of the school kids court case supports the mass shooting as a real occurrence.

What is the correlation to StuyTown? Except that the suicides are real and kept hush hush as if they never happened to. But they did happen and they are very real to those of us around those buildings.

StuyTown says there is a Mt Sinai counselor on site here but that is a problem too.

Mt Sinai reports the same suicides problems that Mt Sinai is keeping hush hush in what others are saying is like an Alex Jones it never happened conspiracy.

Is the point being made about this Alex Jones Sandy Hook comparing Sandy Hook with the suicides in StuyTown and Mt Sinai as all being swept under the rug?

Mt Sinai:

https://www.refinery29.com/en-us/2018/02/189624/mount-sinai-st-lukes-suicides

"Why Do Female Physicians Keep Dying By Suicide At Mount Sinai St. Luke's Hospital?
In the span of two years, three women — two physicians and one medical student — died by suicide while at Mount Sinai St. Luke's Hospital

As one friend and former med-school classmate put it, Dr. Joomun was the last person anyone would expect to end her life.

...Dr. Joomun was the third Mount Sinai hospital employee in two years to die by suicide while at Mount Sinai. First-year internal medicine resident Esha Baichoo died in March of 2016 and fourth-year medical student Kathryn Stascavage died in August of that same year.

Doctors follow a precise methodology to figure out what went wrong after losing a patient, but the same wasn’t being done for Dr. Joomun. Worse yet, their superiors didn’t even acknowledge that there was something amiss.

According to at least 14 doctors who spoke to Refinery29 under the condition of anonymity out of fear of professional retribution, Mount Sinai St. Luke’s — an institution Dr. Joomun dedicated her life to —

was treating her death like a dirty secret, one that many feel they actively worked to sweep under the rug."

Another sign that rules do not apply, at least to management - our pal Peter W seen walking his dog this morning. Nothing wrong with that, except that fact that I can all but guarantee that if you put it on a scale it’s would go over the allowed 50 lbs weight limit as allowed by their very own policy - www.stuytown.com/residents/pet-friendly

If I owned a dog, and it was over 50 lbs, and management tried to come after me for it, I would demand that staff on the property bring their dogs in for weighing. Bet that would stop them in their tracks very quickly.

But who am I kidding??? There are probably close to 1000 dogs in this place that are over 50lbs. They have bigger things to worry about, like the next cheesy event they have in store for us.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

Dogs are never weighed here by Management or anyone associated with Management. It is up to the dog owner to list the dog's weight. Basically, an open door policy.

Anonymous said...

Opened my door this morning to get my newspaper and was assaulted with the disgusting aroma of skunk pot coming from the bro apartment on my side of the floor. Low lifes.

"Basically, an open door policy."

"Aggressive breeds are NOT allowed. Aggressive breeds include: Pit Bull, American Staffordshire Terrier, Doberman, Rottweiler, German Shepherd, or any breed the Owner determines, in its sole discretion, to be aggressive. Any Pet that is a mixed breed which includes an aggressive breed is not allowed.

There is a weight limit of 50 pounds for each dog, unless there are two dogs. If there are two dogs in one of our pet-friendly apartments, their combined adult weight may not exceed 50 pounds. This restriction will be strictly enforced. Only two dogs shall be allowed in any one apartment, subject to the weight restriction."

Etc. See link.

None of these dog regs are enforced.

KNOCK ON THEIR GODDAMNED DOOR. LOUD. HARD. REPEATEDLY UNTIL THE BASTARDS ANSWER. AND THEN SCARE THEM WITHIN AN INCH OF THEIR LIFE. There are equally strong measures you can take to end your own suffering and extreme interference with your life.

I've read enough instances of people like US, WHO ARE LIVING HERE, employing a variety of aggressive DEFENSIVE MEASURES TO STOP THE S.O.B'S MAKING LIFE MISERABLE.

Complain away, but also ACT.

If they are disturbing your right to peace and quiet in your apartment every night, which they are, get a lawyer. There’s no way around it at this point. Make a record of the sound and hire an attorney. Waiting on the TA, Powers, etc will get you nowhere.

Anonymous said...

The noise last night: it was horrific. I literally felt it in my body - ears, head, chest, for hours. I called Security numerous times; I called Resident Services more than once. I called Rick more than once. I called Powers' office and got no one. I called the 13th Precinct: you already know their response. As is their custom, NO ONE AT THE POLICE STATION ANSWERS THE PHONE.

I am convinced that we can stop it through the courts and - or - if we get out there in force and disrupt it.

A Security Officer explained that they could not pull the plug out of the ground which powers the movie truck because "management wants" the movies.

When I asked what would happen if I pulled the plug out of the ground, he implored me not to. When I asked why not, he told me that I would be "disrupting the enjoyment of the residents."

I earnestly, and with great effort to be clear, replied that he had it backwards: that THEY are seriously DISRUPTING MY LIFE, that I could not live anywhere in my home last night.

Among other things, I told him, what they are doing is ILLEGAL. "Management/landlord" has a contract with the residents here. That contract is a lease. The lease guarantees us quiet enjoyment of our homes.

I finally hung up when it was clear they were very busy last night and had other people with whom to deal.

LAST NIGHT WAS AMONG THE WORST NIGHTS OF MY LIFE HERE.

Today is July 27th. THERE IS NO REASON TO PAY (JULY) RENT WHILE THEY ARE BREACHING, VIOLATING AND ABROGATING OUR LEASES.

Question for everyone... who usually goes onto their own website to praise themselves for things they’ve “accomplished?”

My answer is usually people who have little to no accomplishments to their name. That’s the PCVST TA for you. If they were getting shit done around here there would be absolutely no reason for them to go on Facebook to tout their accomplishment (not plural).

If things were getting done we would be in support of the group, and they do have a lot of paying members but the sad reality is that they don’t, because they’re FAILURES. They have failed all of us time and time again, yet they expect us to show gratitude to them for one minor thing.

There's a disgustingly sycophantic little creep on the TA fb page. He signs Hallelujah to everything management does and totally trashes anybody who disagrees with him. He must be Peter Stuyvesant's pet poodle. Probably sleeps at the foot of Peter Stuyvesant's bed.

The poor lady who dares to disagree with the cheerleaders because her apartment is right on the Oval where she is assaulted by that vile "entertainment" is now being picked on by the spineless, gutless Peter Stuyvesant. We are entering an age of corporate mind control and nobody is allowed to dissent.

Herr Stuyvesant has now suspended that lady from the group because she writes "negative" posts. What fucking jerks these people are! They don't care how nasty and insulting the "cheerleaders" are toward any poster who disagrees with them, but anybody who does toe the party line is ousted. They say "numerous complaints" were received. I suspect it is Management who is making the complaints because Management controls the TA. They make me sick. No wonder nobody wants to pay dues to this phony organization. Btw, the lady never swore or used vulgarity or profanity or insulted another poster. I could understand somebody being booted for doing that. She simply spoke the truth, which is against the rules. Disgusting, despicable people calling themselves "Peter Stuyvesant." "Citi Bike’s design team was on-site this week and will be moving the docking stations to provide access to the children’s water feature. Citi Bike quickly recognized this oversight and is expediting the change. We share their hope to have the realignment done by the third week of July. In addition, the sidewalk from the 1st Avenue loop to the entrance to the Oval on the north side of Playground 9 will now be a “walk-bike only” zone, similar to the Oval. Signage will be placed in this area shortly.

Lastly, despite us receiving considerable feedback already, I will be present in the Community Center, along with our colleagues from Citi Bike, on July 11th at 6:15pm to address any specific concerns that a resident may have regarding this new amenity."

So, it's "an amenity?" No, it's not you lying toad! It's a commercial enterprise designed to add more to the coffers of Blackstone! This guy thinks we are all as stupid as he is slimy.

I was just reading down that thread on the TA Facebook page and I couldn't believe what I was reading! It has become like a nasty little clique who gang up on anybody who dissents, and "Peter Stuyvesant" is the Clique Boss. Absolutely disgusting.

I really think that the so-called "Tenants Association" is anti-tenant and is more a "Landlord Association. That character/characters using the name "Peter Stuyvesant" is/are clearly Management. I think every tenant who cares about what goes on with these somewhat lurid people should withhold any "Membership Fees" and avoid having any dealings with the so-called "Tenants Association." I don't know if there ever was a bona fide "Tenants Association" here at one time (well before my time), but this one most definitely is not on the up-and-up. They excoriate residents who disagree with them and, worst of all, bring in these dirty little trolls to shoot poison darts at anybody who disagrees with them. Maybe it's time that law enforcement should start looking into this "Association." I doubt that Facebook cares who uses and abuses its platform, but this is clearly an organization that is a must to avoid. If Management endorses this organization it is because it either doesn't know or doesn't care how badly they treat people who pay to live here! But then, Management hasn't exactly shown any concern for the safety and wellbeing of the people who pay to live here. Management, like the so-called "Tenants Association" only cares about pulling in money and has no conscience or integrity as to how they treat the tenants. Most definitely the "Tenants Association" is an arm of Management. Anybody who pays them to be a member is a fool.

Tonight I walked past the concert, and there was probably a little over 100 people there. Let’s go out on a limb and be super generous and say that the events average 300 people. That is still only 1% of this entire property. Everything being done here caters to 1-2% of the people here and it’s disgusting.

The problem is that so many people just don’t care either way. Those people who don’t care (the majority) and aren’t bothered by the onslaught of crap will probably speak positively about these events. This gives a false facade that people care when in reality they don’t, and those are the people and numbers Rick is honing in on. It makes the events seemed more liked than they really are.

Here’s my suggestion, since we know the events are not going away - tone things down a lot. Do various kids events from 5-7pm on Tuesdays and kids movies on Thursdays from 5-7pm and call it a day. If people want to hang out in the oval afterwards, that’s fine, at least the intrusive sounds end at 7.

Anonymous said...

The TA is most definitely an arm of management and it becomes clearer every day. If people would not give them money they would dissolve which is what they should do. Just disappear.

Anonymous said...

I agree. It is easier than taking the kids to a real movie or event.

Phil Collins sings a song that sums up my feelings for people like Al Doyle, Susan Steinberg, John Marsh, Rick Hayduk, Julie the cruise director, the entire TA board and it's members and anyone who works for Blackstone, SPS or Beam Living, and the Stuy Town Moms...

"Well if you told me you were drowning, I would not lend a hand

I hope the readers of this blog are intelligent enough to understand when they're being manipulated.

I see a lot of "anti-TA" posts that might very well be justified criticism, but when you folks have no other tenant organization or representation whatsoever, might it be wise to at least pretend to have some while you work to build something better ?

And STR, do you really want to have a post that threatens to punch another resident in the face, up on this blog ? I wouldn't think you would.

To the perpetual adoration RH-Blackstone-Beam Living attorney troll who posts at the TA and Tenants FB pages, I post this:

"At this moment the entire group of people broke into a deep, slow, rhythmical chant of 'B-B! ...B-B!' -- over and over again, very slowly, with a long pause between the first 'B' and the second-a heavy, murmurous sound, somehow curiously savage, in the background of which one seemed to hear the stamp of naked feet and the throbbing of tom-toms. For perhaps as much as thirty seconds they kept it up. It was a refrain that was often heard in moments of overwhelming emotion. Partly it was a sort of hymn to the wisdom and majesty of Big Brother, but still more it was an act of self-hypnosis, a deliberate drowning of consciousness by means of rhythmic noise."

I read that comment several times, even laughed the first time, and find it to be a stretch to call it a threat. Maybe the word "yet" could be contrived to make it seem that way. The poster is actually showing restraint by saying they cross the street. I imagine the stress of what a shithole this place has become has upped the testosterone level of some a bit and conversely has made those responsible more sensitive and thus grasping at straws to change the subject. Right out of the Saul Alinsky playbook. Nice try.

Best to never have any dealings with "the TA" or Rick. Steer clear of those people because they are not your friends. They are not on the side of tenants, no matter what the situation. Just avoid any interaction with those people and keep your head down. They are vicious jackals waiting to pounce. Rick has the character of a snake. He'll try to charm you, look you in the eyes and lie. He doesn't give a rat's ass about how tenants suffer under his version of "management" and, I believe, wants people to be miserable so they will move out. Especially the older real RS tenants. Maybe the new rent laws have slowed his gallop for now, but don't bet on it. If he can get rid of an elderly tenant who pays a "low" rent and has a unit all to his or herself, he will want that person OUT and then he will put up pressure walls and turn it into a dorm or share a la LES tenement ca 1800s. We have already heard of people living in closets converted to "sleeping quarters" which was one of Tishman Speyer's ideas and it would not surprise me if they still do that.

Just stay off their radar and remember that Fred Knapp is still around and he specializes in removing people from their homes, whether he acts within the laws or not. Blackstone is just as evil as TS and CWC. Maybe more so.

@10:43 PM, even when John Marsh was the moderator he was not the tinpot Hitler that the current Peter Stuyvesant is. John didn't like bad language and would ask people to edit their posts to remove "bad words," but he didn't curtail free speech. Dissent was permitted and he would only suspend a poster who was consistently nasty or disruptive and didn't heed his warnings. Criticizing management was permitted; he just didn't like foul language. Some posters were very nasty to others and he would take so much, give warnings and then crack down if his warnings were ignored. He certainly wasn't working in the service of Tishman Speyer. That cannot be said of the current "Peter Stuyvesants" who are most certainly working in the service of Blackstone.

I like how “Steve” put things in his comment in the Letters to try Editor comment section of T&V. Rick keeps stringing together a lot of smaller things in his transformation of this property from oasis to circus, and it will all culminate in something so big that it will have all the cheerleaders scratching their heads when that time comes.

Wake up people (Rick’s followers), the writing is on the wall, the commercialization and destruction of this property will continue at full speed, and your support of Rick through these things will be part of the blame. He continues to justify things because people support him and say they like these things.

Nobody should trust this management company, or any for that matter, they DO NOT HAVE YOUR BEST INTEREST IN MIND. Their only interest is that if the shareholder, and the shareholder wants them to make as much $$$$ and possible off of this investment. If that means destruction by commercialization, so be it, just know that you, the cheerleaders, will bear responsibility of what happens here as time goes on and things get worse.

To me, the TA lost all credibility when , together with the help of Paul Weiss, which was supposed to be the law firm for the tenants in connection with the last sale of STPCV but actually acted primarily for the interests of the TA Board only, changed the TA bylaws to make it virtually impossible for anyone not on the Board or a friend of the Board to run for a position on the Board, thus stifling any dissent. I know because I am a corporate lawyer who debated with Paul Weiss about the validity of the change. Needless to say, the handful of TA members who voted on the bylaw changes rubber stamped what the Board did.I haven't given any money to the TA since

I posted this today at the Tenants FB page:

"Around 9 AM today, after seeing your post, I went to 7 Oval. There was a PS officer outside. By "coincidence", I saw a moving truck parked at the First Ave loop. I will be sending a more detailed post re this issue later. Later 2 NYPD detectives (in suits) came by. The PS officer gave them some directions but then at playground 12, they made a right wrong turn. I called out to them and pointed them out to the location of the PS Oval Command Center. That Center was packed with NYPD and SPCVST PS officers.

Bottom, line this assault was not “fake news”. We have a serious security issue here which Blackstone/SPS does not want to interfere with their “Potemkin Village” marketing of movies, concerts, “Salsa Nights”, CitiBike etc., Please note, I do not blame PS. They are undermanned and defanged.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

>>>Please note, I do not blame PS. They are undermanned and defanged.<<

That may be true, and certainly seems like it. But...I have a different opinion of PS. Twice, I, or my friend, were lied to by a PS officer. (Not the same one.) I guess they, the officers, thought what they were saying was a joke, but they said it seriously. PS officers are not here to provide false answers, thinking it a joke. If someone asks a question about "the rules," the PS officers should state the rule, not be a wise guy.

Bottom line: If a resident is in trouble and PS sees it, they will help. I'd rather have that help than anything else. But are they free of BS? No.

Regarding that assault at 7 Oval, they really need an NYPD presence here. This public safety force just doesn’t cut it. Not having manned booths at loop entrances is terrible.

Anonymous said...

Still nothing from Rick, not surprised. Head cheerleader telling people to enter in T, not M. Basically victim blaming. All tenants should feel safe entering both entrances at all times, so his argument is invalid.

Rick deserves criticism for this from all, as he isn’t the manager. He put Blackstone’s plan in place to totally defang PS, so he is liable for the this, and I expect a lawsuit. It also shows that these new HD cameras don’t do shit to prevent crime. Great, we have a clear pic of him after the fact.

Rick, it’s time to resign. Between the suicides and crime, you’ve destroyed this place, and the lives of many.

I noticed the NYDN referred to the neighborhood as Alphabet City, not East Village! We are going back to the days of Alphabet City.

They rent to all those young girls who are students and have the scantiest of "security" here. Nobody watches those cameras and no matter what that liar, Hayduk says, they have most definitely reduced the numbers of "Public Safety" officers and I don't think they are as well-trained as they used to be.

I hope the young lady will be ok. Being choked into unconsciousness is absolutely horrifying. She will never totally get over that. She and her family should sue Blackstone and parents should be on guard not to have their kids dorm here. This has become a rotten place in so many ways.

Anonymous said...

I've been here 40 years and there is a definite uptick in sexual assaults and suicides. Even back in the day when the property was well-foliaged there were very, very few sexual assaults. Those that did occur were usually on 14th Street which was a very scruffy street and just across from Alphabet City which was crawling with drug addicts and dealers. Even then, the assaults were usually more of a "mugging" robbery nature, rather than sexual. There were frequent reports of sexual assaults in Alphabet City, but not in PCVST. The sounds of gunshots were frequently heard coming from that area.
The property itself was very well-patrolled by on-foot Security officers, who were the real deal in those days.

According to the Post, the victim had gone out before 5 am to buy Pizza. The perp probably followed her from wherever it was that she went to buy the pizza. He could have been hanging around near the pizza joint waiting for the opportunity to follow a young woman to wherever she was going.

Anonymous said...

The entire building smells of old stale cigarette smoke. In the lobby in the hallway carpets and it is disgusting.

Anonymous said...

This is outrageous. We need to stage a real life protest at Ricks headquarters and demand answers as to SPECIFICALLY how the 13 precinct is passing off their duties to these moron mall-cops. The 13 precinct sits on their collective asses and lets the security rent a cops do their job for them. A job for which they are neither trained nor qualified.

I know some here are constantly coming to the defense of "public safety," what a fucking joke. The only interaction s I've had with them have shown them to be unprofessional, untrained incompetent fools. I found one of them was sitting in those cars they used to use, idling the engine right outside a pcv building, chatting with his girlfriend, who for some reason was sitting in the car with him while he was on duty, in uniform. Another one, I watched as he opened a lobby door and let someone in to the building who had no key card and hadn't even used the intercom--they were just standing there. I have also had them give me fake names, when I asked him to identify himself and tell me who he was (it was obviously a fake name, and there's no public safety officer working there with this name)

Not to mention the reports of security cameras being aimed at young women's skirts, as described by eyewitness who visited the security office.

What I'm saying is, enough of this crap. Rick and the 13th precinct need to step up and get off their assets. Take responsibility for this crime uptick

Anonymous said...

Tick tock tick tock....you hear that Rick? That’s your time here coming to an end. The suits on Park Ave are not going to like that this hit every news outlet in the city and someone is going to pay with their job. Is it you??? Or will you throw The chief of PS under the bus??

Either way, you’re too concerned with the carnival and not enough about safety. That girls assault is on your head, and if you had a conscience you would do more than offer prayers, you would resign.

Anonymous said...

There is a security booth on East 23 Street just a few yards from my windows. That booth is virtually never manned even though there was a major incident nearby last year. But management does leave a light on in the booth all night in case muggers or sexual predators are light phobic🤬

Stuy Town Reporter said...

And also you can see if anyone is inside that booth!

Management is too busy planning salsa and chip events, carnivals, movies and other crap to focus on safety and sanitation. Not only are residents in danger entering their buildings. We do not know who lives in our buildings anymore and neither does Blackstone.

Anonymous said...

After the fact there is a PS officer sitting in front of 7 Oval. Why aren’t there officers on the loop entrances where the perps enter or in the booths.

Anonymous said...

And yet even as these terrible incidents occur and residents post about lack of security here, Hayduk continues to receive admiration for his management of the property, the trolls continue to rave about the carnival, and the TA sits on its ass.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

I don't know if it's still done, but wasn't there a PS patrol car purposefully left near the loop, but empty inside, to deter criminals?...Yeah, that ought to make criminals frightened.

The person that was interviewed on CBS news regarding the assault must have been screened by management. She said she was surprised by the incident, that it rarely happens here .They also mentioned that we have our own security force. I am not surprised. I wish they had interviewed someone who told it like it was. I am glad that the incident is getting media coverage but I will bet that Blackstone and a Hayduk are approving what is seen.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

I saw that too. A few facts were wrong. No one seems to know what really goes on here. They just read the official page. As to the resident....

Anonymous said...

It was probably a member of Resident Services that was interviewed by CBS! Like I have said, Rick has sat by and chosen the pay check instead of caring about the security and safety of the tenants here. He implements everything Blackstone wants, and therefore is just as responsible as the company itself.

Do we need to be reminded of the crime that has taken place here since Rick took over?? It’s been far far worse than preceding managers, and who knows how’s much more crime we don’t know about!!

1) Girl is raped and almost killed in vestibule. This took place for over 10 mins in front of cameras.
2) Teenager beaten by guys with hockey sticks on 20th Street. Stuy Town says it was not on the property, but they drive their club cars on those sidewalks all the time, and we have no NYPD presence there, so it falls on Ricks.
3) Woman sexually assaulted a few months ago in her building. Was in the news.
4) Teenager robbed in vestibule of 510 E23.
5) At least 5 suicides (not a crime, but a black eye on the property).

I know there are plenty more I’m missing, but what I’m trying to say is this is no longer rare, and anyone who believes that is just playing into Ricks games. He is personally responsible to each and every victim of crime in this place and I hope the lawsuits start reflecting that and he starts getting personally named. But the cheerleaders will continue to put him on a pedestal until they are victims of a crime or Rick turns his back on them (which will happen).

People need to get it through their skills, Rick only cares about the shareholder, NOBODY ELSE!
