Relax (at least once in a while)

Sunny now. Even the rain looks and feels nice.

Update #2, June 6:

Beam Living, Stuy Town Management (constantly addressing residents as little children in "woke" phraseology),
our local politicians to include our Mayor (by far the worst NYC mayor I have seen in my lifetime) and, yes, our Governor:

CHUMPS

--------------

New July 1

Impeach Mayor Bill de Blasio

Link above goes to Change.org site.

This idiot must go.

(150,000 signatures have been reached. Now the site is going for 200,000!)

Newest update, July 6th:

Mayor de Blasio's Accomplishments

------------

New from the NYC Official Site! Posted 8/6

------------

Mayor de Blasio has no plan for indoor dining

 ------------

Governor Cuomo begs New Yorkers to come back. He will even cook for you!

Keith Powers, Our City Council Person.

Votes for Police De-funding and the "progressive" issues that are making this city more and more unlivable. Was a lobbyist for Real Estate in his pre-council win. Never does anything about the quality-of-life violations and (some city ones) he has to see in his own community.

If you are satisfied with what you see in the city (dramatic increase in crime, homelessness, garbage), cheer him on!

 -----

Stuyvesant Town-Peter Cooper Village Tenants Association

Not transparent at all.

This organization has so far refused to give the number of paying dues members, pre-virus, despite receiving from our city councilman $30,000 last year and receiving membership fees. They claim they are the largest tenants association in the nation, but are very secretive about membership numbers and where the money they receive is allocated. No tenant organization that I know of is so secretive. Very simple request: Open up the books.

Update 6/18/2020:

This is priceless and tells much about people jumping the gun big time--something that is occurring more these days, as people are ready to damn someone before the full facts are known.... So, I am searching the internet and come across a couple of photos that look very familiar. One is exactly what I posted in November, applying it to a fake interview. Well, I got damned by a Stuy Town reader who felt I was making fun of the pain and suffering this person on the photo felt. I tried to find the post, but I may have not passed it. But I discovered the reality today. The photo, one of at least two, shows an Asian girl opening her mouth to try to catch the snow that's falling down. That's it. No pain, no suffering, just a kid playing. A good lesson to be careful before one jumps the gun.

This is a disgusting transient dorm dump. They do not know who lives here and do not care. Besides students there are clusters of roomies and short term tourists who go in and out. These movies are a disgrace during a pandemic. Many attendees come from outside. Today I saw a dog walker from outside walking three dogs.

7:40 pm, do you know for a fact that we are getting the irresponsible scum from NYU or are you being hyperbolic?

"Drop the fear mongering and try and understand facts before you start saying things. This is a blatant distortion of the truth. You don't need sensational headlines to make money, try understanding something for a change."

Tell that to NY1 and Mayor DeBlasio. He said it.

Just read today that nationwide 60% of businesses that closed down for pandemic will not re-open.

I think eventually most of everything will open up, may be a different business or owner, but New York will not stay dead. Now, this revival could take long, but I think it's going to happen. Problem is that the very wealthy real estate companies, like Blackstone, will acquire even more from the desperate.

It is almost time to unplug the air conditioners and plug in the space heaters. Smirking Rick will never get the heating system right. If your neighbor is cooking a meal and the heat from the kitchen reaches the sensors in that apartment, all the heat goes off for the entire stack. As the new killer stoves they are giving tenants almost burst into flames when the grill is on, don't expect any heat in many, many apartments this winter. Smirking, creepy Rick doesn't care how sick or just plain uncomfortable you are.

Just read Mr. Hayduk's program for Halloween (on top of all the other usual ongoing activities for our "entertainment"). I wish he would divert funds and people to something more worthwhile such as painting the hallways and replacing the carpeting.... it has been now what, 20 years?, since last time they were done. Also polish the "brass" in elevators and other areas of the lobby that has begun to look diseased probably from the corrosives used when sanitizing for the covid-19. I live in a PCV building but I am quite sure the same level of deterioration is complex-wide.

Anonymous said...

Blackstone thinks that 68 degrees is comfortable to live in when the outdoor temp is below 55. 68 degrees is NOT comfortable to live in, especially if you are elderly or not in good health. It's also chilly for babies. Hayduk insists that is ABOVE the City-mandated temperature. What a thing to have to brag about! So the City says you should live on dry bread, but we will add a smear of margarine because we are so very, very munificent and benevolent. Go to Hell, Hayduck, you miserable pariah.

Anonymous said...

Well said.

Sorry it has come to this.

Anonymous said...

>>Tell that to NY1 and Mayor DeBlasio. He said it.<<

Well that explains it, that buffoon doesn't know what he is saying most of the time. He is actively trying to destroy this city. He makes Hayduk look like the consummate professional.

If you want the truth, look at the actual CDC report.

Eventually things will open up, but the damage is done from Covid. Many businesses especially restaurants and bars will shut down as will travel related companies. We will continue to live a half normal life as long as numbers stay low. We still can’t attend events, travel safely, or do large group activities. Although restaurants here seem to be holding their own with outdoor dining, it will be too cold soon and many of us are not willing to dine inside restaurants. If anyone things that life will return to normal anytime soon, he/she is misguided. As people continue to ignore mask mandates and violate social distancing, it will be an uphill battle. On this property alone, Covid will spread due to the transient population and despicable group events.

No wonder people are falling over themselves to get out of this Hell Hole. Rick does not give a flying fuck about the people who spend their hard-earned money paying to live in this bleak, very badly run apartment complex. He is from the hotel trade (and not very high-rated hotels, I suspect). He doesn't have the qualifications or the vision (or even the interest) to run PCVST as a pleasant, comfortable (as in warm in winter), safe (as in security that actually works) and he does the most ridiculous and unnecessary things to make life even more difficult. I make it my business to deliver the many packages that accumulate in the lobby of my building because I'm home all day and I feel for people who have their deliveries stolen. I can't tell you how many doors I've dropped stuff off at that have either no name-plate or a "Welcome Home" name plate. When there is a name on a deliver, but no apartment number, I check the directory in the lobby. Often there is no name listed and that means I can't figure out the apartment number.

Hayduk is not fit for this job. He doesn't have the background and experience to be the general manager of a property this size. His efforts to shove "entertainment" down our throats has been unwelcome and and unwanted by THE VAST MAJORITY of tenants, especially those who have to endure the noise pollution.

I hope they offload him soon and get somebody who knows how to run a residential apartment complex as a residential apartment complex. Clearly, Mr. Hayduk does not know how to do this.

As for the heating situation in the winter months, that is because we have a malfunctioning system that was installed by people who didn't bother to check it out and it was just foisted on the tenants without any input or feedback from same. Some people boil; others freeze. Massive Fail.

635 e. 14th street- September 19 Saturday-- I heArd a student pArty going on at around 9 pm.

If YOU LIVE IN 635 E. 14th, AND YOU HEAR A STUDENT PARTY, GET THE NAME OF THE TENANT FROM THE DOOR AND REPORT IT TO
COVIDCOMPLIANCE@nyu.edu

If there's no name on the door, ask around to figure out the name of the tenant. Nyu is suspending students throwing parties, including off campus.

These obnoxious fuckers are endangering us and the entire city

Hundreds of nyu students partying in Tompkins square last night. Report anyone you recognize from the video.

Nypd did nothing, though noise complaints were made

Anonymous said...

This bastard landlord is endangering our lives by having these fucking students here. On top of that they give such inadequate heat during the cold months that it is pretty clear that they don't care if the elderly, the very young or the sick among us suffer and die. The sensors don't work. If you have sensors in your apartment and you use the stove and the apartment gets warm, the heat goes off (if it ever came on) for the whole stack that those sensors "serve."

I don't think Rick even lives on the property anymore because if he was commuting between here and wherever his family lives he would be risking taking the virus to his family or bringing it back. Whatever the situation, he doesn't give a damn about the misery of living here with these fucking lousy students spreading the virus. I hope all these vile kids who party get kicked out of school and lose their tuition fees. Selfish assholes.

Lots of college kids having a grand old time at various rooftop parties on the other side of 1st Ave last night--not a mask in sight. Plenty of red cups, loud crappy music and drunks hanging all over each other, though.

I think we can all look forward to another cold, miserable and possibly life-threatening existence in the Sty. Rick says that even if your pipes are cold [and you are shivering from the chill] you are still getting heat. Ok? Understood? You may be cold and your pipes and radiators may be cold, but you are still getting heat. Having a cold apartment and being cold enough to be shivering does NOT mean you are NOT getting heat. Gospel accord to Rick Heyduk, Blackstone's bought and paid for Liar-in-Chief. I think he's got some heat coming to him in due time for what he's doing to us.

Anonymous said...

I think that in all fairness anybody thinking of moving into this dump should be made aware that it is an extremely unhealthy environment: little-to-no heat in winter; a shady power plant being built on the property; a big population of NYU students (undergrads) who come from all over the place and who don't socially distance or observe any of the precautions pertaining to Covid-19; and we have a "Manager" who gaslights us on every important, crucial life-threatening issue and who is obsessed with arranging social "entertainment" events out on the Oval that encourage the spread of the virus and create a disturbance to tenants who are trying to enjoy a normal, peaceful evening in their homes. To add insult to injury, said "Manager" goes about all this wearing a smarmy smirk and blows off any concerns or complaints tenants may have about the dangers and discomforts of living here and paying luxury rent for substandard conditions.

Anonymous said...

"If you want the truth, look at the actual CDC report."

Well, that's even more glum as they finally came out and said that it can be transmitted via the air and that 6 feet isn't enough social distancing. Shut everything back down!

I couldn't disagree more. Large developers are not buying in NYC right now. Companies are leaving and that means jobs are leaving. Will NYC die? No. It will be smaller though and less relevant for sure. More than likely the state will have to absorb some of the abandoned real estate.

I agree with this sentiment. Look at the dire situation with the plethora of shuttered storefronts prior to COVID, and I can only imagine what it will look like when things start “reopening.”

Weren’t there council members who were walking some neighborhoods to get an official count of vacant stores? I think they just gave up after a while.

Anonymous said...

What is this "Power Plant" that Blacksoul is building on the property? I know these Godless, evil-hearted scum have no consciences or ethics, so is somebody keeping an eye on what they are doing here? Life, human and animal, has no value to this filth. I doubt they even have any genuine caring for their own flesh and blood; therefore, it is imperative that a watchdog is in place to make sure that they are not doing irreversible harm.

Anonymous said...

Is Rick holding one of his covid-spreading events tonight? What a jerk!

"council members who were walking some neighborhoods"?? Not much chance of that, except for staged photo opps. I would think they'd stick mostly to their limos or SUVs, to avoid getting tarred and feathered by their disgusted constituents.

The real issue regarding the comeback of NYC isn't bodies but tax base. The tax base has shifted as more and more top earners move out and aren't coming back. You can't expect people to willing pay more in taxes when they can work remotely elsewhere and pay lower taxes while earning the same pay. Despite what DeBlasio, Cuomo and AOC think people aren't going to voluntarily pay more. The bond market is showing weakness in the economy as the 10 year isn't moving. This does not bode well for the country as a whole never mind NYC. NY and other cities will see smaller tax revenues and thus will have troubles. More and more people could still move into cities but they will not be high wage earners so you'll get the bodies back but not the tax base. Expect higher taxes for less services and continued increases in violent crime if you want to remain in a large city. Sad but true.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

Not much keeping me here, except the relatively low price of my apartment. People paying double or more for the same space, I sympathize.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

The goal of Blackstone is to get rid of the old timers and have a tax base of renters that will pay much more and certainly not bitch.

$17 for a BLT at the E-Coli Five Turd Cafe. No free coffee refill. Unbelievable how avaricious and stupid they are! Though when it comes to stupid, I think that word describes anybody who would pay that.

Anonymous said...

"The goal of Blackstone is to get rid of the old timers and have a tax base of renters that will pay much more and certainly not bitch."

Why wouldn't they bitch? If they're paying much more they will still be getting what we are all getting now: little-to-no heat in the winter; inadequate Security; paper-thin walls and floors and (quite likely) the annual infestation of NYU undergrads.

In fact, I don't think the old timers who do most of the bitching; they are resigned to what is. It is the people paying through the nose who do most of the bitching. All of the old timers who I know (and I know a lot of them) have resigned themselves to the fact that the place has been irreversibly ruined and just buy space heaters and try to get away in the cold months (not now because of the pandemic) and put up with the shit. I don't know any who don't have the utmost contempt for Hayduk because if you want to file a gullible fool in New York City, you have to bring one with you. The old timers are far from gullible fools and see that huckster for just what he is.

Anonymous said...

Did Rick Hayduk have one of his Covid-Spreading movie events yesterday evening?

I was kept up till 1 am by screeching students partying. I think we should get a deep discount on the rent if we have to live alongside undisciplined, inconsiderate, immature undergrads. Am paying over $4.5K to live in a nasty, dirty, unsupervised dorm. Am taking the matter up with the BBB and Dept. of Consumer Affairs. Was not warned about this major QOL negative when I moved in here.

How long has this "manager" been here? He's not very good at his job.

Sari said...

11:54 AM -

Good for you for "taking the matter up with the BBB and Dept. of Consumer Affairs." You're doing the right thing.

The undergrads here, under any and all circumstances, are illegal. Now, during the pandemic, which is resurging in a number of Brooklyn and Queens neighborhoods already, this is illegal and what I term literally murderous behavior on the part of many people and institutions.

A previous poster provided the information to report these kids who need to go back to live with their parents. According to the previous poster, these s.o.b. "students" (students of what? Selfishness? Death? Nihilism? Hedonism? Group Sociopathy?) need to be reported to NYU.

NYU, reportedly, will throw them the hell out of school and send them packing.

Get a name, some names, many names of these kids and get in touch with NYU to have them thrown out.

I just witnessed an incident on the property where some white guy pushed a black guy and used the N word. One of the ladies with the black guy was saying that everybody who lives here was racist. I went over to her and implored her to not judge us all that way. She was very controlled, even though she was clearly angry.

What is happening to our country? Haven't we moved past the time when a black person couldn't walk through Stuyvesant Town without being assaulted and insulted? A security officer arrived on the scene after the altercation was over and I told him what had happened. He he was a black guy and was an absolute sweetheart. Can't we all grow up and stop with this color prejudice stuff? I was born and raised in England and we used to have prejudice incidents years ago, but at least 50 years ago it was established that if anyone used a racial slur against a person of a different race, they would have to go to Court and under the Race Relations Act, any insult on the grounds of race or ethnicity carried a very expensive fine. Why can't we do that here? The USA is so regressive in the area of racial prejudice and I am going to say that the current President is not helping one iota.
I have loved this country since I arrived here in 1974, but I have to say that my old country were I was born and that "ruled" so many countries in the days of the British Empire and captured and sold Black people as slaves has managed to get with the program and redeem itself so much better than the USA.
I'm elderly and tired and had hoped to see significant changes for the better before my time runs out, but I don't think I will.

Well, it happened. Around 11 pm on the 14th Street Loop near Avenue A.

Two people I know personally in the UK were fined 100 pounds each. She called him "Black Bastard" and he called her a "Jew Bitch." If you don't believe me, fine. I know it happened. Racial epithets have been outlawed in the UK for many, many years now.

Anonymous said...

Btw, STR, a known Neo-Nazi named Colin Jordan got himself arrested for telling a Jewish taxi driver in London that he "should have gone to the ovens."

He'd been under surveillance for a while and his run-in with the cabbie was all they needed to bring him in under the Race Relations Act and his organization was blown wide open. They were able to arrest him under the Race Relations Act. He was related by marriage to the designer, Christian Dior, and was suspected of terror activities against Jews. He ran his nasty mouth and that was all it took to take him down.

Google it if you don't believe me. You have to watch your mouth in the UK because hate crimes are taken very seriously and getting nabbed under the Race Relations Act can be all they need to cuff you.

Lots of digging going on at the east end of the 20th Street Loop.

A few weeks ago there was a team from some environmental company doing deep drilling into the grassy areas. Now, there’s heavy equipment there doing some serious soil removal.

Given that PCVST is built over a toxic brownfield (something I’m sure the rental agents never mention), this should be some cause for concern. Not a word from Mgmt to the nearby tenants about the work, usually they’ll post notices when there’s work going on...

Maybe think twice about letting your kids frolic on the grass here. It’s long been known that PCVST is an autism hotspot, something else I’m sure is never uttered in the Leasing Office.

I'm worried about the other corner, in Peter Cooper, that is being readied for the Italian restaurant. Lots of digging, all around, and residents above will have more of their view obstructed. Noise, pollution. The residents are still without gas, from what I know. And the question remains: Does the lack of gas have anything to do with new pipes and gas for this restaurant? Where is the TA in all this? Silent?

Well, I haven't been back to the UK in over 30 years because of a disability that makes it difficult to travel, but my wife and daughter have and they said there is very little racism there (at least not overt racism) because they have pretty strict laws that protect people from racism. It is painfully obvious that we have an absentee manager. Disabled and mobility-challenged tenants in 62o and adjacent are stuck with no way of getting in and out of their buildings. This is because of the power station they are building there and which will probably done in the fucked-up manner of Blackstone and will either blow up or emit toxic fumes and dust. I wonder how much Blackstone pays the City Inspectors to look the other way? They're probably paying off our pols too. Lots of the green stuff changing hands in that "under the table" manner that has kept New York ticking along for decades.

Not a word from Slick Rick about the health hazards present and future caused by the project. Slick Rick is conspicuous by his absence these days. We just get a few badly written emails and his fucking announcements of Resort Events. Yippee! Aren't we lucky? We can be entertained as we die from the fumes, lack of cooking gas, lack of safe egress, etc., that these assholes inflict on us.

Anonymous said...

What's with this new Power Plant they are building on the property? Does this mean we will get EVEN LESS heat during the cold months? Will they start metering electric? As if we need even more reasons to get the hell out of this place? Soon it will be strictly an off-campus dorm and short-stay flop. I can't think of any reasons why people would want to move in here and call it "home." Management is doing its level best to make the property unlivable to real tenants. Whenever Blackstone takes over a property it is the beginning of the end. That has been proven throughout the world. Blackstone is the kiss of death to any property they acquire. They're not content with destroying the Amazon Rain Forrest, they have to also destroy people's lives and hoes all over the world. I don't know how anybody with a conscience or even a scrap of decency in their heart could work for such an organization. Blackstone is evil. Pure evil.

Don't expect any help or involvement from the TA when it comes to the fossil fuel burning power plant. The TA is strictly controlled by Management and they are not allowed to post anything that questions the questionable behavior of Management. I honestly don't know why the TA even exists at this point in time. They do NOT representatives Tenants and should change the name of their organization. Maybe they should call themselves: Stuyvesant Town Peter Cooper Village Anti-Tenants Association. I believe they only stay in existence because they get money from the politicians and a handful of stupid assholes who pay "dues." Some of them probably should be in jail for fraudulent practice and getting paid for it.

Where is this info regarding a power plant coming from? Was anyone notified?

I live right there, and sure wasn’t. Is this published anywhere?

Wouldn’t put anything past BS, but it doesn’t make business sense. No one would pay $50-60k a year to live near a fume spewing power plant, so they’d lose income on hundreds of rentals. For a few bucks they’d get from Con Ed for a handful of kilowatt hrs generated?

Anonymous said...

Going to the TA Facebook is like visiting your great-granny (who can't remember anything post 1980). It is so absolutely glaringly obvious that Management controls that page it is just ridiculous. NOTHING of any serious importance to tenants is on the site. Of course, if you want to know where to get your furniture cleaned, or where to buy a nice pizza, etc., that is probably the place to go.

If you want to know what kind of nefarious, life-negating, dangerous shit BlackSoul is inflicting upon us, you will get no further than if you asked smirking, smarmy, amoral Rick. He has sold his immortal soul to BlackSoul and he controls the TA.

I used to eat out very, very frequently, but it will be a long time before I do that again. Bottom line: I'm sorry if businesses go under and waitstaff have to find an alternative form of income, but I owe you nothing. I'll continue to order in, but I will NOT go to a restaurant until the Covid virus is declared over and done with.

Rick, you amoral asshole, you can stick the E-Coli Cafe and your Covid-spreading "entertainment" exactly where the sun don't shine. It's bad enough you rent to all those immature undergrads (many of whom will probably get sick and die), but you have done NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to protect us tenants during this devastating pandemic. Like the owner of your soul, you don't give a damn about anything and anybody but yourself and yours who we have all noticed have been whisked away to a safer place.

"Department of Health uncovered numerous food safety violations at 5 Stuy Cafe such as roach droppings and food kept at unsafe temps."

No surprise there, and who the hell ever asked for a cafe to be planted on this property which is supposed to be zoned for residential purposes only? The 5 Stuy Cafe and the Hayduk Covid-spreading "events" are violations of the zoning laws, as are all of their commercial money-grubbing "enterprises." This is a RESIDENTIAL apartment complex and was never meant to be infested with money-grubbing commercial activities or "amenities." If Hayduk and his evil masters could take their greedy, avaricious eyes off what is left of the property and reverse it back to a desirable, affordable rental property they would probably be very happy at what the profit it would turn. They, like most money-grubbers, are too stupid to realize that. People want an affordable decent place to live and would flock here if it was just that. Hayduk and his masters are too blinded by avarice to even consider such a concept and that is why people are moving out in droves and the property is devolving into a project-like slum and an off-campus unsupervised dorm. This would be a goldmine if it wasn't in the hands of short-sighted, incompetent parasites.

I have to go there myself and see what is on the door.

11.41 AM. The CHP Beam Living link was included in my post.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

Does Beam have to call this place a "campus"? I understand why they are doing so, but "campus" has a far potent meaning to folks living here.

And good luck with those buildings and garages next to those the projected power plants. Don't forget the operative word is "obey." One can criticize all you want, but eventually all residents must obey.

Anonymous said...

No wonder people are moving out in droves and they have to beg and bribe people to stay and they can’t get people to move in. Who wants to live by a power plant! Having Con Ed just up the street is bad enough.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

Five Stuy Cafe. I was there not too long ago to see and the grade is still "A". If you have official information, please post a link.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

BTW, the corner of 19 St on the Stuy side is becoming impossible. I guess work on one of the power plants sub-stations? Whatever the case, Blackstone is moving ahead. No surprise there.

It is a campus, STR. It is an off-campus dorm campus! There was a very noisy, covid-spreading party in the dorm near me last night. Braying Bros and Screeching Hoes. I doubt there was a mask on any of them. But this is what Blackstone wants and is foisting upon us. They've pretty much given up getting real tenants at this point because, apart from the exodus due to the Coronavirus, The Sty has earned itself a reputation that served as a warning to apartment-seekers who want to live in a peaceful, stable and healthy community.

Anonymous said...

Was just reading the non-TA Tenants FB page. Hayduk is not requiring tenants to wear masks. He says everybody has to be responsible for themselves. What a Leader! What a Manager! His cowardly, cop-out approach wouldn't be so very, very offensive if this was a rental residential property where only families and responsible adults were the the tenants. Unfortunately, it is dorm for very young, parentally-funded irresponsible undergrads from NYU and other "seats of learning" and we all know that they consider themselves invulnerable and invincible by virtue of their youth. They should visit an ER or ICU occasionally and see the young invincibles who are dying of Covid-19.

If Blackstone/Beam/Hayduk (all the same shit) are going to rent to these young invincibles and invulnerables, they need to put strict rules into operation to protect those of us who know we are NOT invincible and invulnerable. I include tenants from under one-year old to several decades more vintage! The very young, the elderly and aged and everybody in between is susceptible. Some more than others. Many people are staying home in order to avoid infection and they should not have the threat of infection thrust upon them by a greedy landlord and inept and incompetent property manager.

Hayduk was going to reinstate delivery of packages to apartment doors (first good idea he's had in a long time, if ever), but the TA persuaded him against it. Why can't the TA mind their own damn business unless it's to do something useful for us? Persuading Hayduk to give us sufficient (as opposed to no or subpar) heat during the cold months would be something useful, but that would be too challenging for them.

I hope you haven't lost interest and are just busy doing nice things. I'm sure you need a break from this occasionally.

That's good to know. Take care of yourself and be well. Don't ever think for one moment that we don't appreciate you and wouldn't help you if you needed anything. As we don't know who you are, you would have to tell us if you needed anything on the blog. You would be inundated with positive responses. I say that with certainty.

6:40 PM, Tuesday: Is Rick hiding behind the TA's skirts, or is it the other way 'round? TA consists of less than 40 self-entitled people. Remaining long-term tenants get screwed, no matter what--that's the only certainty. Transients/students don't care...about anything.

Anonymous said...

The Tenannts Association is a vile, unscrupulous, borderline corrupt "organization" of less than 40 dues paying members who claim to represent all 30,000 tenants.
Shameless and shameful predators.

TA members probably have all important parcels delivered to their "vacation" homes (Hamptons and elsewhere), to guarantee proper delivery thereof.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

With all the work on the new fuel plants being built, it is now a war zone out there. I passed by the corner of the 20th loop and a couple of the buildings on that side of the loop were near impossible to pass.

Thank you, Blackstone and Rick.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

I've reinstated the Resident Facebook page as a link. The other Facebook, run by the TA, is primarily hopeless.

"I've reinstated the Resident Facebook page as a link. The other Facebook, run by the TA, is primarily hopeless."

The TA FB moderators seem to have lost interest. I don't know how many "Peter Stuyvesants" there are, but the page seems to have come to a halt. It's only good for finding out where to get laundry done or where to get the best pizza or something like that. The non-TA fb is much more interesting and informative about important things happening here. It is strictly moderated so no assholes can spew their garbage, but it is not controlled by Management. The poster who goes by the name "Adam Rose" is almost a one-man Tenants' Advocate. I love him/her. Management would probably love to lynch him/her!

Anonymous said...

I think the TA Facebook has been ordered to stand down. Management totally controls them.

Btw, I heard the President complaining about the opposition being bankrolled by Wall Street. That's rich coming from someone who is bankrolled by the likes of Stephen Schwarzman. Would be funny if it wasn't so horrifying. Are we devolving into a Plutocracy or what?

Stuy Town Reporter said...

I realize that the presidential election is very exciting to some, but I can't pass posts which are obvious in their intention. There have been several of these posts in the past weeks, but no go. I noticed them and they are not passed. Sorry. There are many sites and blogs where such political posts are wanted. This is not one of them.

I came back from taking a lot of photos of what is happening in this property and its borders, including 14th Street, southside. I am aware that the southside is not Stuy Town, but thinking it over, and considering all the blockage, the city should move the flea markets (more like junk markets) to.... the northside. Yes, Stuy Town territory. Not much happening there and a perfect place for these flea markets.

Fuggedaboutit! We don't want them over here! The cops from the 9th Pct should remove those scuzzy flea markets, most of which are fronts for selling and buying drugs. I have observed many transactions when I've been over there to go to TJ or Petopia. They are not even subtle!

Stuy Town Reporter said...

LOL. But Stuy Town and residents are so sympathetic! Move those flea markets over to this side and let PS and Management take care of them. The northside has the space ever since Associated left. Free up the southside where all the mom-and-pop stores and Trader Joe's are!

Anonymous said...

That City Harvest trailer has become a permanent fixture outside of Associated.

Walking around has become hazardous. There are so many bicycles and scooters zooming around so fast and silently. I am elderly and have short, arthritic legs and I find that the Select Bus always stops so far away from the sidewalk so that apart from the difficulty of getting on and off those high platforms (especially with bags of shopping) I have to watch out for bicycles that zoom past the bus ON THE CURBSIDE! I walked through the property yesterday and was scared stiff because there were so many of these damned delivery bikes and they silently speed past you. All you have to do is inadvertently step to the side (maybe to avoid stepping to a pile of dog poo) and it could be death or paraplegia for the few remaining years.

The cops do nothing about these bastards and our so-called Public Safety may as well not exist at all. DeBozio doesn't believe in law enforcement in general and our lazy, incompetent so-called Property Manager doesn't believe in letting PS do anything but look like what they are not - effective. NYC has become such a dangerous nasty sh*thole I wish I could leave and never come back (but not in a box yet).

Stuy Town Reporter said...

>>Walking around has become hazardous.<<

This place is out of control when it comes to delivery bikes (usually electric) and scooters (and some are motorized). PS doesn't give a damn about these things unless they are almost run over by one. And the ultimate responsibility is dear Rick. He knows what is happening, and if he doesn't, he is one of the most incompetent managers of a property that I know.

Anonymous said...

Oh, he knows alright. He just doesn't give a crap about what is happening here. If he doesn't know then he must have his head up his ass.

Just saw on fb that there is a big party of around 20 or more unmasked guests. PS said they don't enforce social distancing in private residences. Duh Assholes only the apartment itself is "private" the halls, elevators and lobbies are shared. This is the policy of this lazy, indifferent management.
Heyduk should be held responsibile if anybody is infected by these assholes.
They are asking us to recommend this filthy Covid-friendly dump! I think Management should be fined by the Health Dept and Hayduk should be fired. It's on his head if his laziness and cruelly indifferent manner of doing his job results in the virus spreading through buildings where these parties are taking place and PS refuses to do anything.
Blackstone is known for mistreating
tenants, but I didn't think it went as far as depraved indifference to human life.
Why the hell do we have PS anyway?
I am so pissed off I think I'm going to write to the press and TV stations.

1:56 AM: "Just saw on fb that there is a big party of around 20 or more unmasked guests. PS said they don't enforce social distancing in private residences."

This is one of your Stuyvesant Town/Peter Cooper neighbors writing. I am a neighbor who is not inclined to sicken and die because the depraved criminals of Blackstone invite death and great misery into our homes.

PLEASE, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY UPON LEARNING OF A PARTY AND ITS LOCATION. THIS IS A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER TO ALL OF US WHEN PARTIES ARE HELD.

Get the address, verify what is going on (keep yourself protected - masked, etc.) and summon the police there. Then contact "Management."

I've been writing this nearly since these sick sociopaths held their press conference on the 1st Avenue Loop in 2015: BLACKSTONE GROUP - its people and practices - grievously injures and kills people, other kinds of lives, and harms the land and water and air. All over the globe.

Do not sit quietly as they work on killing you.

Somebody on the Tenants (not the TA) facebook makes the point that mismanagement is still in violation of USPS regulations inasmuch as they don't list the primary occupant of each apartment on the directory. People should not be allowed to opt-out of the directory. This is not a hotel. It is a residential project and tenants should have their names listed. We are entitled to know who is living here, especially as we have had so much trouble here since it has become a dorm.

Has anybody heard what the outcome was with the lawsuit against mismanagement concerning the sulfuric acid idiot who killed himself and seriously compromised the safety of his/her neighbors? I heard that some of the tenants of that building were bringing a lawsuit against mismanagement.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

There was a shooting and death by Caffe Bene closed to Stuy Town. Already at the Resident Facebook there is an argument about this, where they should be none, I would think. People have a right to know what is happening in their neighborhood. It's not going to help the current situation to post about the bad, old days in NYC and somehow get calm because of that. This kind of violence is unexceptionable, now or in decades past.

Anonymous said...

STR, are you typing or speaking your posts? Siri mangles words.

Anonymous said...

"People have a right to know what is happening in their neighborhood."

That was not the issue. Anyone who follows the EV Grieve blog knows the good, the bad and the ugly of what goes down below 14th Street and the original poster did the right thing by posting it. It's getting all bent out of shape/clutching pearls over it because, unlike, previous shootingings, EV shootings, this one was on 13th ST and Ave A and, per usual, it was gang related, most likely over drug turf, and of course, it was at 1.30 AM.

Whatever possessed that Steinberg woman to persuade Rick Hayduk to continue the practice of having deliveries left in the lobby? Does she realize how much inconvenience and outright pain she is causing residents, especially the elderly? Maybe she meant well, but it was very high-handed of her considering that she hadn't polled the tenants to see what most of us prefer. Now Hayduk is not going to change the status quo because he really doesn't give a rat's ass about us tenants. He has made that very, very clear with his high-handed, unintelligent decisions almost since Day One of his tenure here.

Anonymous said...

Hyduk is a jerk and Susan Steinberg isn't far behind.
Two losers who have done so much to contribute to the downfall of Stuy Town.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

This complex and the surrounding neighborhood are the worst I have seen since I've been here. We are talking over thirty years. Yes, the pandemic has a lot to do with it, but it also freed up certain people in ways that make living here harder. It seems a lot is falling apart, and Management and the politicians don't do much, if anything.

And the Ice Rink is coming up! Another issue that the politicians don't care about.

Anonymous said...

Is Heyduk having another of his infamous covid-spreading events tonight? I think he should be arrested. Maybe he subscribes to the "herd mentality" theory! LOL. I think he could be in that category of insanity!

Susan does what is best for herself and the very small corrupt clique around her. As a result, she probably has a fat bank account, plus a so-called 'vacation' home to retreat to.
