New York's New Senate Majority Leader

Surprise, surprise, it's Pedro Espada Jr!!!

Well, the Democrats have accepted him back into the fold after giving him an offer he just couldn't refuse. Espada is now, officially and once and for all, New York's Senate Majority Leader, the most powerful position in NY State after the Governorship.

This is also a notable hallmark for the Hispanic community. Or at least that's what Espada buddy, Senator Ruben Diaz, said when he took the Senate podium floor the other day:

"This is the greatest, biggest achievement our community has ever gotten."

I think we should be all proud of our State Senate and praise our new Majority Leader. Meanwhile, here are some instructions on tar and feathering:

In a typical tar-and-feathers attack, the subject of a crowd's anger would be stripped to the waist. Hot tar was either poured or painted onto the person while he or she was immobilized. Then the victim either had feathers thrown on him or her or was rolled around on a pile of feathers so that they stuck to the tar. Often the victim was then paraded around town on a cart or a rail. The aim was to hurt and humiliate a person enough to leave town and not cause any more mischief.

  1. What a bunch of sleazy, pathetic losers. I hope they all get voted out in the next election. They are lower a snake's belly.

  2. Couldn't agree more with thec previous poster.
Espada has gotten a lot of money from real estate groups recently (the details of which he has refused to disclose in apparent violation of NY Election Law) so with him as Majority Leader we should not expect much improvement in RS laws until at least after e 2010 when I can only hope Espada and the other lowlife, Monserratte, are defeated in the Dem primary.

  3. The elected officials in Albany provide us with a very strong case for limiting government powers and reducing the size and spending of goverment wherever possible. They are simply not capable.

  4. That stupid moron thinks the Hispanic community is proud of him? What a cretin. He's done more to set back the Hispanic community and make it look like people of banana republic mentality (which it's not) than any strutting, imbecilic Latin American dictator possibly could have. He represents the Hispanic Community as well as Uncle Tom represents the African American community. When some people proclaim they're your friends, you better know you don't need any enemies! Both Espada and Monserratte are cartoon characters.

  5. I will not for an incumbent no matter what the
circumstances. I am a democrat and to me
they all deserve a one-way ticket out of Albany.

  6. Nice solution to the democratic process: tar and feathering. Hurry, I think you're wanted back at Guantanamo!

  7. Tar and feathering is certainly what some of these scummy politicians deserve. Democracy in action!

  8. What a shame. I was hoping the gridlock would continue for a while longer.
