Well, I guess we knew that, but here's confirmation, nevertheless. (Hat tip to STR blog reader.)

Do note lack of mandated 80% carpeting, btw.
The comment section is priceless. There is, so far, one response from a NYU resident:
Though I'm sure this isn't the attitude of most students living (temporarily) here, I bet it's one that's held by many, particularly the macho bros.
The scandal is that renting to transient residents like students increases legally the rents in PCVST. The landlord(s) know this and work it to best advantage.

love the comments!doubt anyone at NYU cares
The NYU deal was created by REBNY and the Politicians in office during the past few years (some were voted out of council last year some are still on the city council), in their many attacks on Rent Stabilization and Regulation.
It is their way of getting rid of affordable housing in PCVST.
Now De Blasio has made it clear he has no intention of protecting PCVST tenants and no mention of protecting existing affordable housing,
just "creating" new affordable housing within the building of luxury condos"
He is playing word games. Someone needs to keep count of number of homes losing rent regulated status vs number he "creates" because if he isn't protecting the existing homes (well that is awful in and of itself) but it won't matter how many he creates when it will be offset by how many he loses during his tenure.
I don't see a re-election second term but then again its New York and terms in office can be bought like Bloomberg and Garodnick did.
A friend who lives in an Oval building says a vending machine selling snacks (chips, chocolate etc) appeared in her laundry room this week. Will this "amenity" be popping up in all the laundry rooms?
Another step closer to being a dorm?
These students don't understand when you live on campus you can live by campus rules and when you live off-campus in the adult world you live by adult rules.
These students want to live off campus in the adult world but with campus rules.
If they want to live like students and not adults then stay on campus.
When you are off campus, in the adult world you need to behave like a grown up and follow adult rules.
I was never this disrespectful when I moved off campus my senior year in college into an adult apartment complex.
My university never let off campus students behave poorly, recklessly, unlawfully off campus.
This is a poor reflection of the culture of NYU.
They don't keep the laundry rooms clean enough to allow eating. That is unsanitary and gross. Our laundry room is filled with mold in every corner, piles of dust on the ceiling and pipes, and floors dirtier than a landfill.
The damage that the soon to be retired John Sexton of NYU has already done to this community, plus all the adjoining ones, has been immense.
I think NYU is only concerned with increasing its real estate holdings and increasing its wealth. The integrity of this once-venerable institution has gone down the toilet as it has lowered its standards to the degree that is exhibited in the behavior of its drunken whores and frat boys who move into our community.
I think that probably the worst offenders are the students whose parents lease the apartments for them, rather than those who are here under the agreement between ST Owner and NYU. These are the kids with wealthy parents who never bothered to teach them anything other than that they were special and entitled. Whatever professions these kids are aiming for have a very bleak future.
John Sexton is one of the most corrupt administrative leaders of higher education and is producing graduates with his same business ethics.
NYU needs to invest in students, not land.
We were never this bad in college. What is wrong with these kids? It is obvious this social experiment has provided evidence that kids unsupervised by parents do not belong in adult environments. There NYU is your study. Now be gone with your greedy corrupt selves who got the City to pay for your mansions on Long Island and in the NY countryside.
fight back people. DON'T LET THE STUDENts take stuyand pcv.
wth. No one even putting up a fight about this. lmao lmao
Spoiled brats.
Anyone see the trolley outside playground 10 on Saturday night FILLED with students running to it, left and right? HOLY COW!!!
Looks like month number 3 with these three MCI'S we are going to pay again. It shouldn't take this long to negotiate.
Ship has obviously sailed on the current and continual MCI increase
buck up, the hits will keep coming.
