Blackstone Is Ignoring Its Own Rules

This fine morning I see several spots of dog crap near the PS guard booth, and bicycles freely going about the Oval. Not one of the staff--PS or workers--see this? Or they just don't care as long as the residents remain quiet? Speaking of PS (Public Safety), where is it?

Blackstone, and I include its representatives, you are showing that you do not care as long as the money keeps growing. You should be embarrassed to run this place if you can't handle it, which it seems you can't, despite all the rules.

Life Isn't Worth Living Without A Dog

Believe it or not:

https://www.stuytown.com/blog/stuylife/local-trips/dog-policy

Some rules to mention again:

"Although we are private property, remember that all New York City dog laws apply here as well. NYC law dictates that all dogs must be on a leash of 6’ or less at all times outside of your apartment.  If you don’t have an appropriate leash, you can pick one up free of charge at the StuyTown Management Office (276 1st Ave Loop)."

"When walking your dog, it is essential that you carry around bags to pick up after them. All residents will receive a portable container of 'doggie bags' when registering but after that it will be the resident’s responsibility to always carry bags and clean up every time."

And let us not forget this:

https://www.stuytown.com/nyc-apartments-info/pet-friendly

"We are pleased to announce a new way of identifying registered dogs on property which will allow our Public Safety staff to easily recognize registered dogs and more effectively enforce StuyTown's dog policies. Management will be providing new lanyards which residents should now use with their Dog ID Tag on the end and clipped onto the handle of the leash so that it is easily visible. After April 30th, 2016, anyone walking a dog on property without a lanyard and tag will be escorted off of property, including dog walkers.

"Lanyards and clips will be available for pickup at the Management Office at 276 1st Avenue Loop and Public Safety at 2 Stuyvesant Oval. If your dog is already registered, simply show your dog’s tag to the receptionist at either office and they’ll give you a lanyard, clip, and a few other dog goodies. If you have yet to register your dog, please see instructions below."

Um, when was the last time you saw a blue lanyard clearly visible?

Photos Around the "New" Playground

Playground 7 is supposed to become a "gym" playground for whatever tenants live around there, and another selling point for Blackstone. Meanwhile, STR headed to the playground to see what's up.

Seems as if PS rarely goes to the east end of the playground, nor does it encourage "good behavior." No surprise.

Top photo: These guys with their dogs hang out in the playground area, as well as outside Stuy Town, but nearby. You've seen them. Stuy Town dogs? You decide! Middle two photos: Says it all, the dog area and a PCVST cart. Lovely. Last photo: "Oh, my poor doggie couldn't hold it in and I didn't have any bags! What's it to you, anyway?"

(Photos can be made larger it you click on them.)

Get Out Your Handkerchiefs (or whatever you use) and Cry?

A very popular event in the UK. Coming to the USA?

Thanks to a STR reader for alerting me to this show.
