I think they want the homeless to move onto (but not into) the property. Hayduk has well and truly turned this place into a slum.
I saw similar this weekend. Watched a tenant bring the mattress to our sidewalk and just leave it there. Took a photo but really no one minded. PS drove by in the golf car. No problem, dump it all one and all.
The homeless do come in and pick over the refuse.

This garbage and mattress dumping has been one of the most negative things under Blackstone. We never had this before. It makes the place look like a slum. The area in front of my building has been somewhat better, but I imagine it is still prevalent around the property. It is embarrassing to have people over.
I used to take photos too. To no avail. Nobody cares.

You think it’s bad now? This is just the beginning of the “churning” (5/19-9/19) season, whereby the students and “young professionals” move out of this dorm dump, security doors being tied open for their moves. PS has zero response re this issue even though their Oval Command Post gets a warning that the door is open past a certain time limit. They do not have enough manpower and they have been neutered by SPS anyway. Bottom line, there really is no security here, no matter how many BS SPS posts or door signage telling people “please” do not let people you don’t know enter your building. Such a joke.
I've seen front doors open and no sign of PS. Aside from "making friends," PS is fairly useless. I think it is a hidden policy. Don't upset anyone.
I get such a charge out of Peter Stuyvesant ‘s advice on the TA site, always to notify PS. Never do they offer solutions to major QOL issues . They are a pathetic joke.

Last night, Sunday night, there was at least one incident which Security offered assurances was not serious. 2 police cars, 1 ambulance into which a cuffed woman was deposited on the 14th Street Loop. Overheard, "she doesn't want to press charges."
A police officer (there were at least 5, possibly more), present at the above incident, familiar with and possibly attendant at: the suicides of the NYU sulfuric acid young man, the 76 year old woman, the 68 year old man, and the 60 year old man, agreed the situation here is bad, serious.
When Security was phoned about noise from a neighbor, the news was that "this is a very busy night."

We have surpassed NYCHA. In fact, it is an insult to the NYCHA tenants to make comparisons because most of them are cleaner and more conscientious that the shit who live here.

You are absolutely right. I think the suicide rate has increased because of Blackstone. The kid who killed himself in the meth factory wouldn't have been able to set up a meth factory if it wasn't for the renting policies of Blackstone. Most of the suicides are older people and I feel sure it is because life has become unbearable here and they can't afford to move.
As for all the garbage strewn around the property, I wish we could pick it all up and dump it outside Hayduk's building in PCV.
As for PS being busy: of course they are because their numbers have been cut to the bone and they don't have enough manpower to do a good job. The property has changed so much that we need more PS, not less. The property used to be inhabited by mostly families and professional people. Now, it is swamped with students and has a hugely increased population and that includes AirBn, illegal sublets, kids crowded into to "flex" apartments and all the bfs and bffs.
Mismanagement is exactly that. Hayduk is the biggest con man I've ever seen.
The combined heat and power plant has begun. This morning they were towing away cars parked on the Avenue C loop.
No wonder the property is infested with bed bugs. Who knows what is on those things, especially the mattress. Crabs? Management doesn't observe even the most basic standards of public hygiene. How come they can get away with this behavior? Under the table payments to somebody representing the City to look the other way? Probably.
We never had this kind of thing before. Even TS was a more cleanliness-minded owner. Hayduk is turning this place into a fetid slum. I wish he'd go back to wherever he came from because he doesn't give a damn about this place.
Did anyone see any further coverage of the latest suicide. RIP whoever it was. Must have been in a lot of emotional pain because nothing is worth killing yourself over, but the overload of stress of today's world can make a person reach breaking point.
Yes, this happened to the apartment next door to me. They priced out a nice family, followed by three dorm situations, now the people next door appear to be subsidized. They have been there over two years. No way they are paying 3600 with annual increases.
The crap that lives here now is the problem. This dorm/tourist/Airbnb/ city subsidized demo is terrible. As a result the place is becoming a slum. What a joke, 3500 to 6000 monthly rentals becoming dorm and transient dumps. And don’t kid yourself. The city led by DeBlasio is in deep with Blackstone in many ways.
I am guessing that the above photographs are a reflection of Blackstone's level of caring about the properties it owns. They only care about making money and have absolutely no respect for the human beings who live on the properties they take over. That is textbook behavior of a slumlord.
I wonder if a call to the Board of Health would help? Some of that crap could very well be filled with bedbugs, crabs, lice and all kinds of disgusting shit (e-coli included). So you're saying some or many get subsidies but Blackstone continues to raise our rent annually without even matching SAME flat rate in another building? Our rent is now hundreds more than the apartments in neighbor buildings which are renovated. Such a scam.
I was recently told that the gas leak problem is an old one, has happened years ago in the same general vicinity; that the City has now come down hard on blackheart; that they were given until 2021 to fix it.
I was further told that not only are the buildings old and deteriorating, but that no proper repairs have been made, contributing to the gas leaks. Only patchwork, not vitally needed repairs. Hence, this dangerous and expensive and life-threatening situation (as with many "renovations" - destructions. More on that.)
I was further told that blacksh*t is NOT paying themselves for the necessary repairs, but is passing on the expenses to tenant RENT.
An employee informed me of all of this over the last week.
More: spoke with a neighbor whose husband is totally incapacitated, and which sad medical condition requires peace and quiet. Instead, "renovations" on top of them are going on at all hours, exacerbating his condition. She asked them nicely to stop and COULD NOT BE UNDERSTOOD SINCE ALL OF THE WORKERS SPEAK ONLY SPANISH.
I've personally come across this dozens of times since the monsters who came in here in 2015 took over. Workers: NO ENGLISH, no good skills, no necessary materials provided. I remember the pickets here years ago when the various construction and maintenance unions here were being gutted and destroyed.
The same neighbor I just referred to told another horrific story about unqualified workmen "working" in an adjacent apartment taking out much of her lighting.

The lady you mentioned with the very sick husband should contact the DOB or the Public Advocate's office. Better yet, she should contact the press and media and see if see can get her plight on the news and in the papers. I understand that people are afraid of retaliation by Blacksoul, but that is what Blacksoul is counting on. It takes guts, but what is the alternative? The alternative is to continue to live with the abuse and the less people complain, the worse it will get.
