It is time to start the wheels moving as there have been no suitable
responses. There are only four or five issues that will currently be taken. One
involves the Tenants Association, a group that has been responsible for several
things, not necessarily to any success, while ignoring other things that are
seen by residents daily. This "tenants" organization is not open
about current dues-paying membership or what year had the largest membership.
As reported by this organization, this information is "confidential."
Meaning, no one knows who is a tenant and is not part of a small privileged
group. This seems odd, as it is a "tenants organization" and should
have no secrets to tenants. But it is not so. The continual promotion of this
organization being the largest in the country can't be even checked because of
this. This has got to change. Any tenants organization should have basic
information about its organization available to tenants. Dues are asked for
continually, though.
The other issues have to do with our landlord, currently Blackstone. There have been no responses from their legal department (to which Public Safety ultimately refers) about enforcement of a ban on running e-bikes, outside dogs, and uncovered mattresses on the loops. There is also the crucial question of who "owns" 20th street and whether club cars can cross it.

Sorry, but I have no hopes that anything will change here. There is no support for change. Mention was made of forming a new TA on this blog a year ago. Nothing happened.
I will believe the wheels turning when I actually see them turn.

I have thought that maybe the posters who are trolling here where doing for laughs with Dickee and his band of assholes. The more i think about this, its obviously they are trying to fractionalize this group of dissenters. You dickheads may think you are achieving your goal, but you are not! The crimes against the tenant continue and get more egregious. We are humans and if you continue to marginalize us, we will react accordingly.
STR is the only voice I hear shouting. Don’t moan if you feel like the situation is too far gone to fix and just whine that it’s too late. That’s not the American or NYC spirit. Wake up and fight!

7:49 I agree with you to some extent , but complaining on this blog does nothing. I appreciate being able to vent freely but no action is ever taken . I for one have met with local pols and Hayduk but gotten nowhere. The shouting is doing nothing.

I disagree. Not just complaining on this blog, but on the others. No complaints? Then everything is great according to the spin from whatever landlord is here. Yes, they can say that, and will say it, but everyone who wants can read the problems.

I have to start at first base, and then proceed onward if necessary. On several items, the TA has been secretive for too long. It shouldn't have to be this way. It is a TENANTS organization.

There is no action in response to the issues we discuss here. It is great to vent but the TA continues on its merry trip of apathy and management cozying up and this dump gets worse and worse. Let’s see what action is taken when tenants freeze this winter. Probably none like last year. We can vent from here to eternity and everyone knows this place sucks but nothing changes. In addition, a good portion of old time tenant love this management. I see and hear them often.

YES! Some of us have just about had enough. Actually, not just some of us, but many of us and we WILL reach the end of our endurance at some point, and it won't go well for "management" or the reputation of this place. We are not mentally deficient and unable to fight back.
I think the TA should be subpoenaed to open their books. This organization is not on the up-and-up. It is shady and self-serving.
When I went to councilman Powers office to complain about issues only three people showed up. I was one of two or three complaining on the TA site and consequently got banned. Hardly anyone supported my criticisms on that site. So don’t tell me that you are able to fight back or will fight back. And nothing will go badly for management or the TA either. I am not in a rush. Whatever time it takes, it takes.
I don’t think it will get any better. In fact it is getting worse. If residents do nothing but complain verbally there is no hope. Not sure why you think there will be positive changes in time STR. You don’t give specifics.
Specifics will be given. Not now, but when a result, pro or negative, comes.
But there is movement, at least for me.
We know that the TA does not give out how many due-paying members there are now. This was confirmed to me, by email, from the TA. But, through simple research, we know that membership back in 1976 was down to 1,000. 1,000 members out of over 30,000 tenants. This is years ago, so my educated assumption is that membership is down even more. What our City Councilman gives yearly to the TA has gone up, because the membership has gone down, in part.
I myself have seen and been inside the ever-decreasing space for TA meetings with tenants. Another fact.
The TA may wish to hide its dues-paying numbers, but it's a lost cause--for them. Without those funds from the Councilman, they would have very little money.

I was another of those three people who saw the lying Keith Powers last year in June. Although I'm not a TA Facebook member, I read it thoroughly every so often and was always pleased to read your posts. I wondered where you'd been recently. It saddens and troubles me that they "banned" you, but I am not surprised.
Many of the humans living here are human garbage and pollutants of a previously beautiful, peaceful, and civil place.
As you know, I'm Stand Up and Fight. It seems to me that some people are FINALLY becoming ready to fight back, and in more direct ways.
I don't know what August 2, 9:25 P.M. means, or what others who have very recently meant when they refer to "waking up and fighting," but maybe we are approaching the tipping point here.

The wheels are turning in Blackstone’s favor unfortunately. Only lawyers can reverse that. Our TA chooses not to use their lawyers to fight management . Battles can only be won in court.
Today there was move out garbage on my loop all night and morning. Not picked up until noon. It will soon be replaced by more crap. Saw many Airbnbers this morning. Hayduk touts this as a diverse community. It is rather no community filled with students and transients. Low life place.

History is not the same in a housing development with mostly transients and maybe 2 percent who want change. In case anyone hasn’t noticed most of the tenants here either love Rick and his events or don’t care because they are out in a year or less. There is no support for any type of protest. We are not a country , no comparison. Over 50 percent of my friends who are long time tenants like the direction Hayduk is going in. Sad but true.
Look at the history of this dump, no comparison to world history. Less support, transient residents, and no viable TA. That is the real history here.
