CWCapital Ready to "Rock" the Oval

"Rock the Oval" in preparation:

Meanwhile, watch out for falling trees.  The rains yesterday softened the ground enough to cause a large tree to fall in front of Stuy Oval 19 and 21.

The ground gets so softened by heavy rainfall because these and previous cretins have cut down so many large shade trees that the ground has no protection now. Those large London planes in the Oval that were slaughtered in order "open up" the Oval served many purposes other than to just look beautiful. They protected the grass, deflected a lot of the damage from brutal storms as well as provide homes to wildlife and oxygen to the air we all breath. They acted as windbreaks during bad storms. They were planted with intelligence and foresight. Sadly, they were slaughtered with stupidity and ignorance.

Man, even this early I can hear the soundchecks even though I'm not around the Oval!

My apartment is noticeably vibrating right now from the bass. I can feel it coming through the floors and walls. I have the windows closed and AC on full blast.

They've been banging that drum since noon. They think the crowds of Woodstock are coming. How sad when they get an audience of 50 people, like every other Oval concert. I can't comprehend why MGMT continues to shove this CRAP at us when obviously WE DON'T WANT IT!!! I will be out this PM but I hope someone posts some photos of the little audience that does show. They poison/blow out every home around the Oval with this noise for the 50 people who want to see the band. They'd be better of sponsoring concerts at Summerstage or in Central Park. At least that would get them some appreciative publicity. Sheesh! Still CLUELESS after all these years.

I can feel the vibrations as well as hear the music/noise from the "concert" right now, Saturday afternoon around 2pm. This is just another example of CW treating our community as a park. Question: CW, if these ""concerts" are for for the community, maybe you should ask us if we want them? I think most residents would prefer the money (our rents) be spent on improving services rather than this type of entertainment.

The warm-up act Skyfactor are a really good band, working hard to please the audience of families of all generations. Sound is good. Ironic that the demographic of this audience is exactly who CWCapital is evicting.

The mall cop presence is heavy at the concert today, keeping the predominantly wheelchair-bound and stroller set in check. Mall cops stationed every 50 paces or so. What exactly do they fear?

Anyone complaining here about the noise should be calling 311. The more the better.

How about peaceful but noisy protesting at concert?

Yikes! I can hear that lousy shit all the way over on 14th! It must be total HELL for people living on the Oval. I can't believe this is legal on a residential property.

REALLY LOUD if you are around the Oval. And the sound is muffled, too, so it's just noise.

I called Security and was told this shit will go on until about 6:30 pm. Are we entitled to call 311 and report a noise violation? I am sick of listening to this noise pollution and I am on 14th Street. I don't want to call 311 if it is something that is actually legal, though CW's version of legal may not be the same as anyone else's.

Just walked through Madison Square Garden East and the sound is deafening. The poor people who live on the Oval must be miserable. Maybe CW should be cited for noise pollution or be forced to give out ear plugs to all residents? Maybe we should all call 311 and complain? Remember, hear loss is an accumulated condition and no one thinks it is going to be them.

Way to go, Cumpuss Crock!

Another relaxing afternoon in our quiet oasis.

Thank you so much.

In the photos with the fallen tree, I see streetlights are on. Congratulations to Sean Sullivan, who keeps the lights on during the day while incapable of making them go on at night. I believe the term for that is ass backwards.

Next time, how about a noise-in? Dust off those old boom boxes. Crank up those emergency radios. Hook up your iPad to a speaker. Then turn them on full blast and bring them to the Oval. Get on your cell phone and have a loud conversation with everyone you know. Fight fire with fire.

you can ALWAYS call 311.

Not that they'll be able to do anything about the complaint though.

Is Compass Crock getting a kick back from proving these failed "bands?"

Your best bet is to contact the lawyers and hope you haven't missed the deadline to claim your money.
