From Management/CWCapital

STORM ADVISORY NOTICE     2.8.13

In anticipation of the potential storm which is expected to impact the New York City area, we have made extensive preparations. We have procured the necessary supplies, equipment, internal labor and third party contractors to minimize the impact of the storm to the best of our ability, and to deal with any subsequent effects from the storm, including preparations for expedient snow removal.

We are asking all residents to take precautions and make necessary preparations. Due to the extreme weather over the last several months and the forecasted blizzard conditions, there is a higher risk of fallen branches and trees. Residents are advised to remain indoors for their own safety. All PCVST playgrounds will be closed until after the storm.

Please stay indoors and stock up on supplies in your apartment:
-          Water (bottled, jugs)
-          Non-perishable food
-          Battery-operated radio
-          Working flashlights and extra supply of batteries
-           Warm blankets
-          Please DO NOT RELY ON CANDLES. They may cause fire.

Additional precautions:
-          Check on emergency supply kit
-          Charge cell phone(s)
-          Check on friends and neighbors especially those who are elderly or have disabilities or special needs and require assistance with their preparation.

For additional information call 311 or visit www.nyc.gov/oem and stay tuned to local radio and TV broadcasts for the latest information.

Call Public Safety at (212) 420-5000 if you require assistance or to report an emergency on property.

Call Resident Services at (212) 420-5000 to report a maintenance emergency and to receive property storm updates. Updates will also be posted on our website at www.pcvst.com and www.facebook.com/pcvst

As you may know, Management has implemented an emergency phone notification system. To add or update your phone or email, please go to www.pcvst.com. ;

WHY DO THESE BASTARDS TURN THE GODDAM HEAT OFF AT 11 AM? DON'T THEY REALIZE THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE WORK AT HOME AND A LOT OF SENIORS ARE HOME ALL DAY? MISERABLE SWINE COMPASS ROCK!

Are these types of notices an attempt to assist tenants or are they used for legal reasons to deflect any possible legal action against ownership?

Thank you for posting this.

Well, they (management) are doing their job.

This looks like a boilerplate notice. Too bad they didn't take their own advice before Sandy hit.

Call resident services? For WHAT? To go straight to a voicemail that will never, ever be returned? F*** you Stuy Town. I'd tell you myself but you are a voicemail only company. Don't get me started on your Facebook page.

Much ado about nothing. The weather people have a ball going on and on and on about impending doom and Bloomberg is so defensive since his miserable failure to respond to the blizzard in 2010, we have to put up with all this hoopla every time there's a little snow (quite common in New York at this time of year). Having said that, I know we are better safe than sorry.

Yeah, it's pretty nice out there.

Some guy on "The Call" on NY1 called in last night and said: "The weather forecasters are like most men. They promise you 11 or 12 inches, but deliver only 5 or 6 inches." Poor John Schiumo was quite taken aback by that and moved on pretty quickly! LOL!

Yellow snow is pretty.

Tootsie Roll snow is even prettier.

Unrelated. Can we please stop taking photos of the staff and pitting them online? The professional snoop and part time TA attack dog posted photos on the TA Facebook page along with her candid nterview with him. I'm sure he was only trying to be helpful, I suppose she was too, but posting this stuff online is only going to get him fired.

You OK, STR? Hope you had a good Valentine's Day. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink!

Oh, yeah, I'm okay. Very busy, tired, but okay. Thanks.

The Oval Amenities are closed for good. Accounting is hiding out in secret apartments. A dozen buildings are without laundry service until September. Black mold EVERYWHERE. Yet CampusBong ReallyDude is still showing apartments. Are the brokers aware of what they are selling to people?

If one good thing came out of this storm it is that Oval "Amenities" (a/k/a Oval Atrocities) have been closed for good. Of course, the skating rink is still up and running and we all know how essential that is to our quality of life - much more important than functioning laundries, etc. I hope we won't be having more of those vile noisefests this coming summer, but I am sure I am hoping for too much there.

A new tenant in my building was told by Management that we weren't affected by the storm. Imagine her surprise when she tried to get to the basement to do her laundry. Psych!

Are we sure that the Oval Amenities are gone for good? I would assume that they will be back once the offices along the FDR are back.

Also, what's with Oval Cafe? No one is using it, so what's the problem? Not that I miss its closure!

America Leisure is out. I'm not sure if they were let go for budget reasons like Rose or because the spaces needed to be re-appropriated after the storm. But either way they're gone. Oval Kids was closed and being renovated long before the storm which makes me think American Leisure's departure was planned. The Winter Wasteland wasn't one of their projects.

Mold in Terrace entrance at 285 Avenue C. Attempted to contact service manager Carlos Perez 2x by telephone and once by email. No response. Next will get Dan Garodnick's office involved. What a place this is!

American Leisure and their Amenities are gone for good.

"American Leisure and their Amenities are gone for good."

Did they let Manny go? Poor Manny! I miss him! I think they have him working in accounting now, trying to make head and tail of the new mid-lease rent increases. If you get a rent bill for $15,000 for the month of March plus an MCI of $27,000 payable in advance for the new 3D intercom screens, blame Manny.

If Management renovates and moves back to their old offices on Ave C right by the East River they are even stupider than I already think they are. They should be moving their offices to First Ave. THAT is a no brainer.
