I Don't Understand....

I don't understand how Stuy Town's bikini beauties can be out in the middle of the Oval Lawn right now, in near 100 degree weather, under a scorching sun.  I can get dizzy just in the shade!   I guess a tan at all costs rulz or is awesome or something like that.

so it is very AWESOME?
Some many of the younger folks start their sentences with the word"so" with the emphasis on the end of the sentence and many declarative sentences sound like questions.

All the skin cancer docs are rubbing their hands and licking their chops as the next crop of high-paying patients percolate!

I don't know STR. Skin cancer isn't my thing.

It's funny... Well, not really, but there's always an asshole (the same one each time) who has to make a smarmy comment about age and old timers whenever he thinks he can get a shot in. Sorry, pal, but your stupid comment that you think is so witty is not being let through.

Oh, and yes, I'm sure our old timers do enjoy viewing the bikini babes of Stuy Town. That's why you see them sitting around the Oval Lawn.

STR-
Off topic but was just wondering how it's possible that people are still advertising (ala Air B'n'B) sublets for a week or two on the Oval Families page (and also on the "Moms" FB page). What about this being illegal and frowned upon are they not getting? Do the rules not apply to them? Is it because since they use their real names on FB that they know nobody can call them out without being attacked and shunned? How can these people be taught? Is there an agency that can be informed? Perhaps they think since it's only being seen on a STPCV FB page that it's somehow safer than Craig's List (probably/maybe) but it's still illegal and contributes even more strange faces to the revolving door tenancy that we already seem to now have here. Not sure if you'll let this through, since it's off-topic, but was wondering if your readers (or you) have any suggestions about putting an end to this really brazen method of short-term subletting? Help!

and to the complaining poster who doesn't like the elder folks....

Shouldn't you be in Ft Lauderdale, Daytona, Miami, LA by now?

Re: temporary sublets/hotels... Yeah, I'd think it would be a no-no to post those.

I always see people walking around the Sty with suitcases. Seriously, I don't think a day goes by that I don't see that. I guess one could say that they are visiting current residents, but I would think a large amount of them are illegal rentals.

Yes! I see them all the time, too. One of them was sitting outside my building the other day, waiting to follow someone in. I wouldn't let him in, but somebody else entering the building did. I don't know what we can do about these people. I don't feel that it is a safe environment with all these "overnighters" coming and going. Management doesn't seem to care.

7:56? Huh? they must be gone as I do not SEE EITHER.

Anonymous said...

I live at 445 and I see people with rolling luggage coming and going all the time. The whole building is full of transients and no matter how hard the porter works to keep the recycling and lobby areas clean, these filthy assholes constantly leave garbage all over the place. We have filthy mattresses coming and going, noise, the stench of pot and all in all it is like a badly run youth hostel. When is management going to do something about this?

Anonymous said...

I thought Management was fighting the short-term rentals, but maybe the new guy isn't up to speed yet.

Anonymous said...

Just saying... have been here too many years. I rarely see this. no luggage coming and going.. lots of students live here, yes,

but our building is not a 'hotel' as you are saying.

NOTE TO ALL: MIsManagement does NOT care if this place is packed with transients. They are not actually in the management business. They are in the revenue generating business, which is why they turn a blind eye to EVERYTHING that is wrong here. Until they are gone, we will not see any decent, responsible, intelligent management going on here. And given the fact that CW Capital rakes in $625,000 per month in fees, I wouldn't expect their not-up-to-the-job mismanagement company, Compass Rock, to disappear anytime soon.

I wish the AG would look into this scam CW has going with CR raking fees for doing nothing.

The Oval Families co-conspirators are part of the problem. The Mom Zombs are always renting out their apartments on the Facebook page. Management needs a mole in there to keep an eye on the sneaks. It's disgraceful to think they are welcoming strangers off the Internet into the homes of their small children. Shocking Stuy Town hasn't been featured on Dateline 'To Catch a Predator' already!

How do you get 625k?

I agree. I have seen some of the moms advertising their apartments as "swaps" and speaking about having subletters for the weekend. They have no conscience as far as the tenants of their buildings are concerned. It's all about them!
As far as 435/445 East 14th is concerned, I live in 445 and I see people with rolling luggage all the time. I've seen luggage stored in the laundry room on more than one occasion with "please do not remove" notes pinned on it. I've also seen kids hide luggage in the bushes under my window and come back and retrieve it later. I've never reported this to Security because what do I tell them? There may be no laws against putting luggage in the bushes or laundry rooms and I don't want an ACLU lawsuit to deal with. I've also noticed that the front of 445 is a favorite picnic spot for some people who sit their having their lunch, coffee, etc., and then chuck their garbage through the railings onto the property. We have a nice crop of coffee cups, liquor bottles, cigaret boxes and wrappings, etc. The porters shouldn't have to clean up street people's dreck as well as the slobby jerks who leave their half beverage cups, containers, etc., in the lobby right where the mail gets sorted. Not to mention the assholes who dump their reeking garbage outside the recycling room. As for the people who sit on the low wall in front of 445 and picnic, I saw one creepy little old guy throw his coffee cup onto the property and told him I was going to call security. He came and retrieved it and cursed me out. He does it every day, but this was the first time I actually saw him do it! I wish the porters should go out with a hose and wash down the sidewalk in front of the building and wash some of those loiterer/picnickers away!

"How do you get 625k?"

By doing fuck-all and calling yourself a management company.

When are the people who were overcharged for YEARS going to receive refunds? it's been long enough .

Link? correct me if i'm wrong, but the

moms FB page is closed and only includes stuytown moms. Right?

so who would rent their apartments? why advertise there when they can just use Craiglist ?

I had an email from Thomas Ponzo at Berdon Claims. No specific information but he said claims typically get paid six months to two years after the claim filing date, in this case May 31,

So? They still use it to advertise short-term sublets, probably thinking since it's a closed page that it's somehow safer than Craig's List. It's not. Also, when they're breaking the law, they don't feel as sneaky since it's being shared with the closed group, asking for referrals, etc..

It's very easy to get onto the Mom Zombs' page and the "Oval Families" page. :-) Nothing is sacred on Facebook if you know the unlocked back doors and faulty locks!

Link to FB moms page?

It is not there.

I'm emailing the Stuymom moderators and making sure they don't let any of you in. You are trolls and do nothing but find dirt on people to use against them. What kind of pathetic lives do you lead?

Stuy Town Reporter said...

LOL.

Anonymous said...

Sounds to me like you're more than simply a tattletale. Sounds to me like maybe you're an illegal sublet host afraid to get popped. Speaking of "pathetic lives," at least we don't run tattling. Instead, we're all more like QOL cops. Got it?

Anonymous said...

You don't have to go onto the Stuytown Moms actual fb page, just look at the fb pages of some of the Moms. They openly advertise their apartments for sublet.
