Our landlord, BLACKSTONE, can't handle Stuy Town and Peter Cooper Village. There is a lack of enforcement of certain "rules," and no amount of notice to this alleviates the problems. We are continually being told half-truths and fabrications. And we have no viable Tenants organization, despite our TA asking for dues all the time. So far, the politicians have proven to be basically useless. A typical New York story.

My young neighbors have not waited for pot to be legalized. They smoke it day and night and stink up the hall. I get high just waiting for the elevator! Unfortunately, the don't buy the fragrant stuff that I used to get high on in my misspent youth. Now, they smoke the skunk-smelling stuff and it is enough to knock you off your feet just getting it second hand/nose.
A candy store? At the now current PS office at 12 Stuyvesant Oval? To all the frigging clueless, transient rubes who are now moving in here, get the F out of PCVST once in the while, see the city, and go to the greatest candy store of this city, Economy Candy, at 108 Rivington St.on the LES. Jeremiah Moss in his blog is so spot on with the current crowd who move, not just here, but into every gentrified (and soon to be gentrified) neighborhood in New York. “These people are Young Urban Narcissists, or Yunnies. A narcissistic personality is essentially created by inconsistent, frustrating parents. It makes sense that Yunnies would be attracted to the consistent and the gratifying. Chain stores like Starbucks and Walgreens promise both--the Yunnies always know what to expect and are rarely disappointed. THE GIANT CONDO COMPLEXES THEY LIVE IN OFFER ROUND-THE-CLOCK SERVICES AND GRATIFY THEIR INFANTILE NEEDS.”
Oh, please don't misinterpret! I don't think there's a candy store heading to the Oval. Just a joke on my part.
But, really, who knows what will pop up at the Oval next? Perhaps...a candy store!
McOvaldonalds would be cool.
Anony 12.27 here, sorry, I though you heard the scoop from one of your sources. My post still stands regarding how everything must be a hand's length for our new/soon to be gone (churn, churn churn) transient tenants. And Economy Candy is the best, check them out.
We should try to guess, but seriously, as to what's going to take the place of the current Security Office at the Oval. I did overhear the suits mention retail. Now I don't think that CW would be so brazen to put in something that screams RETAIL, but rather something that they can rent out to a business, like they've rented out Oval Kids and Oval Cafe, that can be promoted as being for "residents and their guests." It could be some service-type establishment.
Someone, I believe with troll intent, mentioned something for Stuy Town's dogies. Can you imagine if this were true?
Of course. Isn't the place on 1st and 23rd called Stuytown Pets already? Ha ha.
it's between 23 and 24th, west side street
STR, marijuana won't cut it when it comes to coping with CWCap and Compost Crock. We need morphine, heavy doses of morphine. They are the most despicable, loathsome bunch of filthy opportunists that anybody could be exposed to. If they could harvest our organs, they would.
We have little to no heat during this bitter cold snap, but we do have new junk food vending machines on the laundry rooms (though very few working washers and dryers). Way to go CW/CR, you bunch of bloodsucking useless bastards.
Yay.....no heat... Let's pay those MCI INCREASES, whaddya say?
Speaking of MCI increases, I had three visitors to my apartment today who all arrived separately. Not once did the microphone on the intercom work. We are expected to pay an MCI for this crap?
NO HEAT in 5 Stuyvesant Oval.
But we do have the skating rink...and MCI's.
A royal F**k you to CW Cap and Compost Co*k, money grubbing, greedy ghouls par excellence.
I've said this before, but there is something far more sinister about CW creeps than just your average greedy real estate or wall street giant. It has a truly Russian Mob quality of pure ruthlessness, lack of respect for tradition, absolute robotic quest for more and more money, etc.
On the original topic, I agree with 10:50 p.m. have no problem with residents smoking pot, indeed, I often love the aroma of good weed, even if I don't partake anymore. But seriously, get better shit. That skunk weed just reeks.
I have soooo much heat I have to leave my windows open.
I wish I had enough heat so I could turn my space heaters off. I'd love to be able to open a window.
