I thought NYC was dense enough as it is... At least Manhattan appears to be.
Shouldn't the primary goal be securing the affordable housing that still remains and is being depleted month after month? And what about that rent freeze?

Here's the plan for affordable housing:
Income maximum : $25,000
This on top of a dilapidated foundation???
First they should fix the infrastructure foundation so it can support this increased housing and new building higher construction.
The underground pipes, steam, electrical, gas, etc and the ground level sidewalks, streets, subway cars tracks and stations are a too much of a dilapidated mess to be a solid foundation for de Blasio's increased housing construction plan.
The city is a patchwork mess of temporary band-aid coverings on gaping holes. NYC needs a Mayor with a plan to fix the crumbling foundation and fast. Is that deBlasio??

Increasing density seems unhealthy. China. Hong Kong. Sure it is a short term money making grab. But not good for the health of humans. A very odd bizarre choice.

Fine with me. That's why I live in a city and not the suburbs.
Bill DeBlasio held true to his word in TRYING to get a rent freeze. Look at the proposed numbers. Did you actually think you were going to get a zero percent increase? The proposed percentages are closer to zero and further away from last years 4 and 7.75 percent increases. These are fair numbers for both sides. 7.75 percent increases are absurd. Landlords are ALWAYS going to make a profit. That's why they are in this business.

Only an unthinking, cavalier fool would say something as dumb as this. Density in a city matters. A lot. You'll probably be the first one to scream when you can't get the services you want because your neighborhood is overcrowded.

Bill could have gotten the zero rent increase if he really wanted to - but what would his bff say?
9:33 after 12 years of fair numbers for one side, the landlords, we deserve equal number of years of fair numbers for one side, ours. de blasio had an obligation to set it at zero as promised to offset the past bloomberg years.
DeBlasio has no integrity whatsoever. He parades his family as some sort of statement (and I think they are a very dysfunctional family) and he pays lip service to whomever he thinks may be useful to him.
I hope he chokes at his birthday party hosted by Rob Speyer.
