You Get the Idea....

Do I need to comment? All photos, except at the bottom (an official Stuy Town promo that doesn't show carpeting as per official instructions), are from the SpareRoom site, which is a treasure drove of apartments such as these.

Yet Ricky boy has all those videos up yapping about why 80% carpet coverage is needed. Hey Rick, you hypocrite, you can’t have it both ways. Either you enforce the 80% coverage and get rid of these official photos showing no carpeting, or just get rid of the damn rule and see where that takes you.

Anonymous said...

80% carpeting rule?!?!? ROTFL!!!!

Rick Heyduck should resign. Every one of those photographs speaks volumes about his incompetence, indifference and total indifference. Resign Rick. You are a rattling empty can. All your little talks, videos and house rules can be summed up in the attacked photographs. I have to say this, they are very depressing photographs! Cold, cheerless, bare-bones glorified tenement photographs.

You can call that nasty woman in the stuytown office. Tell her your upstairs neighbor has no carpets? how do you know this? YOU LIVE UNDER THEM AND IT'S AS CLEAER AS THE FUCKING BELL . SHE will say, I will have it checked. She will then tell you the apartment was inspected and has carpets. Every fucking time. Lying bitch. Guess what her name Is? She does nothing , her job is doing nothing except just tells tenants lies.

I guess there's no sport in shooting fish in a barrel. How else can you explain not being able to enforce/catch non-conformity of the 80% carpetting rule. I mean all the work has been done for you.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

Two things: One, I hope that the reps here don't think that they are believed by many of the residents, myself included. This is not sure, however, as creative justifications (lying) is a way of life here, as long as the apartments are sold, and an outsider doesn't really know the truth.

Two, the object seems to be to wear down the complainer. Yes him or her to death (no pun intended) and then eventually they will go away.

The bottom line is the truth is gone, but the sale is not. And these people will get a gold star afterward. Job well done!

Once again, Rick does what his bosses want and he does it well. He does it so well that many residents love him and think things are great here. Another manager is not the answer. He is just the middleman

Was just reading about the tenant meeting in T&V. What a joke. Sounded like a bunch of nothing accomplished and the usual political jargon. Glad that I no longer pay dues.

Anonymous said...

STR, you should do a poll on your homepage asking how many people are dues paying members of the TA, and post the results.

I warn everyone I come across not to rent here and to spread the word. I tell them about the noise, the lack of heat, the lack of security, the brown water, the fact that it's built on a toxic landfill and, worst of all, it is a fucking dorm full of apartments that have been converted to cells. The way the apartments in the photographs are laid out, they remind me of those places where hoards of immigrants pay some sleazy landlord to sleep in shifts. I know that happens a lot in NYC. I once knew a person from the Phillipines who lived in that type of place when she first came to New York. It still goes on and this place is becoming remarkably like a bunk house, so to speak. People are coming and going with overnight bags and luggage all the time. No wonder we have bed bugs. There could be a lot of communicable diseases (apart from the inevitable STDs!) that are brought in my miscellaneous persons from God Knows Where who are bunking here.

Those cubicle-style accommodations look so bleak and depressing. Believe it or not, or rug or two on those wooden floors can make all the difference between a place looking like holding pen or a living space. They're basically just tenements with a lick of paint.

Anonymous said...

We can all agree that management does not want to alleviate the noise problem for tenants. Does not does not does not. If they cared (in fact, the opposite being the case), they would install cheap carpeting, not restrip restrip floors repeatedly while not reinforcing the carpet rule.

Let us all honestly ask the management to own this thought of their property.

Management - please just be honest with your tenants who pay you dearly every month some of us for decades for the hellish conditions you put us through. Make a statement!!!!~ We the owners of PCV & Stuy will not receive or handle any noise issues you may have now or in the future. Your rentals are as is and your complaints are not worthy.

Nobody went to that waste of time meeting. How many people were there? Obviously the meeting is about the politicians promoting themselves because that is the photo that T&V showed in their write-up. The TA meetings are nothing more then T&V giving headlines and photo opportunities to an otherwise un-newsworthy event and group of people. The TA has zero headlines on any accomplishments because the TA accomplishes nothing. So they have a meeting and T&V takes their photo and produces a headline to make it look like the TA and politicians are doing something. Those three at the table have done only damage to this community and not achieved one good thing for this community.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

I wonder why there are no photos of the entire audience? How many people showed up is a good question.

Anonymous said...

why is our rent $35 higher again this month? What is the heat bill for? omg, i hate this fucking place.

Anonymous said...

Well we know that the following were there:
Politicians and Management... exactly the people that shouldn’t be at a TA meeting. We have Dan Garodnick, John Marsh, and Susan Steinberg to thank for the current state of affairs in this community. We won’t forget you three.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

Re: The Ice Rink. Such an "amenity' (which most don't use) can be directly tied to our councilman, Dan Garodnick, who surrendered very easily to the Man. There is no reason, other than PR gloating for Management, to have that rink inside the property. And, last I checked, the Five Stuy Cafe still does not have a legally mandated sign that states "For Residents and Their Guests." Anyone can use it.

Hurly Birley: King of Posh UK Clubs to Reign in Union Square
by Michael Gross

Desperate Wannabe Bill DEBlasio's New York City is the same as Mike Bloomberg's
Russian Oligarchs and British Dandyism
Billionaire Row North is Central Park South and Billionaire Row South is the gilded age Union Square that will have the Diller Island on the West and the Tower Hotel Condo slated to replace PCV on the East.
They do not have the courage to tell the people the truth to their faces while they kick out entire communities for billionaire playgrounds. The blueprints of the new 14th street east side to west side does not have any middle class residents or shops. DEBlasio is creating a tale of one city and the one city is for the very wealthy only and their yachts and clubs. They are deceitful, greedy and desperate. Desperate for attention, desperate for fame, desperate for more and more money, and of course DEBlasio is famous for his desperation for a national platform. Hew should get his national platform, the country should know what a deceitful, lying, corrupt politician he is - - just like his predecessor. More and more it is impossible to tell the difference between the Mayors and the President.

Shame on the Peter Cooper Village Stuyvesant Town Tenant Association and Mayor DeBlasio.

Why didn't the Peter Cooper Village Stuyvesant Town Tenant Association tell us about this Friday, August 4, 2017 protest against Blackstone by progressive groups. Real progressive groups as Center for Popular Democracy, Make the Road New York, New York Communities for Change and the Strong for All Economy Coalition and not fake, phonies who call themselves progressive but who sell a middle class community to Blackstone.

The moment Mayor DeBlasio went through with the Steve Schwarrzman Blackstone deal with Peter Cooper Village Stuyvesant Town Tenant Association and Deputy Mayor Glen is the moment Mayor DeBlasio showed he has not an ounce of progressive values in his body. There is nothing progressive about Mayor DeBlasio.

If the Peter Cooper Village Stuyvesant Town Tenant Association was the side of the tenants they would have rallied the Peter Cooper Village Stuyvesant Town community to join progressive groups including the Center for Popular Democracy, Make the Road New York, New York Communities for Change and the Strong for All Economy Coalition when they protested Stephen Schwarzman, economic advisor to Donald J. Trump, at his Hamptons home.

That is a rally worth attending! Everyone knows what Blackstone and Steve Schwarzman are really all about.

Heads Up, Water Mill: Schwarzman-Trump Protest Today
by Michael Gross
Friday, August 4, 2017

Describing Schwarzman as “one of Trump’s closest advisers, and a billionaire supporter of Trump’s tax reform plan, and Trump’s plan to privatize infrastructure,” and head of a firm, Blackstone, that “will reap massive profits from Trump’s economic agenda,” they say they plan to “emphasize how Trump’s tax and infrastructure plans will take a huge toll on communities of regular working people, and give special treatment – an EZ pass – to the wealthiest Americans like Schwarzman.”

They plan to set up Trump Toll Booths to highlight their contention that the administration’s (as yet unformed and unrealized) plans will “allow the wealthy to charge working people exorbitant fees for basic services.” In “Trumpland,” they say,

“the rich take a toll on everyone else, and pay far less in taxes than regular working people.”

While the protest leaders have sent out a press release noting Schwarzman’s address, AVENUE will withhold it. They also spelled his first name incorrectly. The protest will begin at noon today.

No true progressive would make a deal giving their constituent's homes to The Blackstone Group L.P. The Mayor has no credibility and no progressive creds. His first term in office built a resume of accomplishments making his lobbyist friends richer and making developers his new best friends even richer and making communities poorer and shrinking in size.

A true progressive would protect their constituents from The Blackstone Group L.P. and their ilk.

The The United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) surely must know there is a traitor in the group posing as a progressive while aligning in action with the Schwarzman-Trumps.

I think the method here will be as it was: to increase the prices and the rooms, though I guess all these partition walls we see walked around by workers are not partitions.

And to increase those "amenities," even though the residents do not use them, if we go by the amount of people.

I have a feeling that NYC is taking a it on tourism. I have family in Ireland who own a travel agency and up to a couple of years ago they couldn't work fast and hard enough to get tourists from Ireland booked into hotels here. That has changed. With the Santa Con shit and the threat of terrorism (admittedly worse than Santa Con!) and the Disneyfication of Times Square, people from Europe are choosing more authentic American cities to spend the holidays and their dollars.

They know that the NYC skyline has become raped by those ultra ugly tall skinny buildings; they know that the security everywhare is so tight that you can't get into anywhere that is interesting (e.g., City Hall, Law Courts, Stock Exchange, etc.), but they accept that. What they can't accept is the overpriced hotel, restaurant, bar prices at places that are simply chains that are readily available and proliferate all over the UK and Ireland. The diners, coffee shops and little hole-in-the-wall businesses in the neighborhoods have all gone. Why spend a fortune to visit a generic, bland "big city?" It's a shame, but that's the way it is.

Please, let's just concede that this place is now a shithole and isn't going to get any better. The "TA" is a fraudulent organization and Management just wants to turn this place into a dorm/transient dive. It's not going to ever get any better and we have to make the most of it while we live her and pretty much ignore (or try to ignore) the shit going on around us.

I just try to quietly live my life in my apartment. I use outside laundry services, never set foot on the property any more than I have to (fortunately, I live in a perimeter building near Avenue C), never recycle or compost because I don't go near those fetid areas and avoid anything and everybody that has to do with management, students, loco neighbors, etc. I just wish there was better bus service across 14th because getting to work on time s now a challenge with the curtailed bus service. We live in a nasty project which was once a desirable middle-class housing project, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. By the way, I have all my mail and online orders sent to a private address because I know that a lot of mail and package deliveries are stolen at PCVST. Don't know if this is deliberate strategy on the part of management or just because the Postal Service and other delivery services are stupid or larcenous.
Good Luck, Folks. The old PCVST is dead and Blackstone and their notoriously criminally-inclined purchased TA and politicians are the name of the game these days. My advice is to inure yourself from them and just live in your apartment and conduct all other business far away from these criminals as is humanly possible.

Nyack NY Shipyard quietly removes leaky DEBLASIO ferries to "patch" them. Hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars on "21st century" modern ferries are a big fail.

Id like to know how many of us are abused and suffering from noise pollution from neighbors. This is serious shit. My 3 year old has to listen to fucking, screaming every night from 8 pm and on. Some days music is loud all day long and it is driving us crazy. No help from the landlord.

Anonymous said...

Doesn't seem to make sense - that they would demolish PCV- in order to build a hi rise tower, etc. Yes, the property is worth a fortune. The buildings are worth almost nothing bc they are ugly. If they were planning on tearing down all these buildings, why would they be putting so much $$$$$ into these apartments ???? Renovated apartments! Solar panels. New playgrounds. New apartment lay outs. Am I missing something????

If anyone has been looking for security last two evenings look no further than ice rink. For some reason security car and staff member parks vehicle in 20th loop and himself in rink to converse with rink staff for Aprox 6-9pm 11/26 (rink scheduled to close at 8pm but stayed open until 9)and since 6pm tonight. Guess the 8 people that use it and scream and bang into walls loudly need security to watch it all happen instead of looking out for lanyards or e bikes. Very curious situation.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

>>Doesn't seem to make sense - that they would demolish PCV- in order to build a hi rise tower, etc.<<

Right now and in the foreseeable future, they can't do that, per agreement where ST and PCV are not altered with towers. Air rights for somewhere in NYC they can, and will, sell. Of course, air rights are big gift to the real estate developer, and the City Council and the Mayor should be ashamed. But they are not.

For all that Blackstone is not perfect, it could have been worse. Wilbur Ross and Richard LeFrak were mulling a joint venture on purchasing the property at one. I know that for a fact, but can't say how I know. They would have been much worse than Blackstone. Ross is a weasel and probably money-launderer and LeFrak is notorious for abusing his tenants.

7 26 yes you are missing. the #1 and only reason they renovate each and every move out is to increase the price allowable by housing division. Read people, read. Reason they want all of us out. Reason they won't attend to complaints - they don't want you here more than one year. even if you are paying top dollars.

Anonymous said...

7:02 PM, there will be a point reached when their increases are just too much, especially as there are apartment buildings going up all over the City. There has to be a point when they will need to be a bit competitive. When our current Lunatic in Chief crashes the market, as he is bound to do, we will see a big change.

Anonymous said...

Yes, they renovate to increare the rents and they fill these unrentable units with students and transients. The market rents here are unaffordable for most and people that can afford 4 grand for rent can find more desirable places to live with real amenities. They know exactly what they are doing. Turning the community into a dorm dump. And they smile and put out friendly e-mails as they do this

What about the overcharges we read about?

Thank you STR for continuing to give a voice to the voiceless. I was walking home a little while ago and encountered about ten vehicles of various shapes and sizes plowing down the sidewalks. I move to the middle of the sidewalk and walk extra slow, but it’s frustrating that I have to constantly do this.

We all know that Rick and company read this blog, and it’s 100% obvious that they don’t care, otherwise they would have done something to find ways to stop all the madness going on here.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

Once again (and again and again) I see violations when I go outside. How come it is that PS or the staff at this complex (hi, Rick!) do not see these also?

Except if you almost run over a PS officer on a speeding bicycle around the Oval, chances are very good you will not be approached by anyone.

Certainly it seems that they don't care. I getting more and more in league with the people who think it is all about the money and little else.

Oh, and tell me how many protests about the rent increase? Almost 50 dollars if we add back "pay"....

There will never be a point when rent increases are too much. They will just continue to fill the apartments with students, convert to Airbnb, and join with the city in subsidizing apartments. Who knows, they may have deals with NYU
