Why Bloomberg Has to Go

This says it all, really:

Truth hurts when you're a big time liar and corrupt politician like Bloomberg is. He may be able to bamboozle enough slimeballs on the City Council, but he should not take it for granted that he can bamboozle the electorate whose vote he negated by overturning term limits. What a despicable little tyrant!

It should be noted that when Bloomberg stepped aside from the podium, he moved in the reporters direction and said to him, "you're a disgrace" (for asking the question).

The mayor's office then was forced to issue an apology to that reporter who was from the New York Observer.

The mayor obviously does not want to talk about, and have people reminded of, what happened with the overturning of the two-term limit law. He and the City Council members who supported him (and themselves) should be eternally ashamed of what they did.

He looks so reptilian! I don't think we should ever forget the 29 City Council members, especially Speaker Quinn, who aided and abetted him in this kick in the groin he gave to the voters and democracy. What a self-serving vile little jerk!

I like Bloomberg. We are so fortunate that he saved us from Mark Green and Fernando Ferrer.

Go Bloomie!

Go with him. The further away from New York the better!

Stuytown Reporter - so I stumbled onto your blog. As insightful as it is, I guess my only questions are why do you continue to live here with all the negative aspects your publish here on your blog? Why keep feeding the monster (Tishman) more of your hard earned money?

I've lived here for more than a year now and made the mistake of signing a two year lease (once my lease is up, I will be gone forever from ST).

My favorite question is, "Are you a student?". Once I tell them I'm a young professional they seem to loosen up and get the angry smirk off their faces.

Why do I continue to live here?

Several reasons:

It's been my home for twenty or so years. I pay less for the same amount of space than I would in another part of the city. In general, I still like living in Manhattan. I work here. At its best the Oval area does offer a place to relax, read or just while away the time. It gives me great pleasure not to move and see Tishman Speyer make more money out of my apartment by turning it to market rate.

There may be other reasons I can't think of at this time, but those above are the primary ones.

If anybody is a "disgrace" it is Bloomberg himself. He has disgraced the democratic procdess by overturning term limits to suit his own hunger for power and control. Those members of the City Council who enabled him (no doubt for their own agendas) are also a disgrace. It was a sad day for New York when they were allowed to pull that one off. I hope that those of us who resent this gesture of dictatorship (whether we favor term limits or not) will make our feelings known at the voting booth in November. Mr. "I can buy anything and anybody I want" Bloomberg should be sent away smarting!

Check out this revelation on Lux's blog:

http://stuytownluxliving.com/2009/06/will-tish-spey-level-peter-cooper-village.html

I have my doubts, but if that letter is for real and if Tishman Speyer is trying to make some deal with a foreign company to tear down Peter Cooper Village and build commercial property there, then the defeat of Bloomberg will be crucial in NOT allowing this to occur. You just know that Bloomberg would sign off eagerly on such a deal for his pal Jerry Speyer.

No doubt one of the main reasons his pal, Jerry Speyer, campaigned so eagerly for Bloomberg to get term limits overturned so that he could buy the election was so that they could go ahead with a plan to raze PCVST. If that document is actually genuine, then it shows what unscrupulous, evil schnorrers the Speyers and Bloomberg really are. Bloomberg made his billions by being ruthless and huckstering others. All he's done since becoming mayor is hone his skills at getting his own way and corrupting anybody who might stand in his way. He most definitely has to go.

Bloomberg made his billions by being ruthless and huckstering others.

Huh? Care to elaborate on that one? Or, since this is "just the internet", you can say anything about anyone - anonymously, of course.

Personally, I don't like the guy, or I should say I don't like what I see of him, since I don't know him personally. And I really, really don't want to see a third term. I think he's turned out to be a lousy mayor, and I'd love to see him go.

But... Bloomberg's background was a Wall Street trader. He was a head trader at Salomon Bros., back in the days when market info was disseminated on mimeographed "pink sheets", delivered by messengers on foot. Bloomberg had an idea to compile market info, put it in real-time updated electronic form, and charge firms a subscription to view it.

Smart, right-place-right-time thinking, if you ask me. Huckstering? That's Trump's job.
