Seems like this is pretty important....

Hello, CWCapital/CompassRock!

This is criminal recklessness! Who are they paying in the DOB to look the other way?

Shouldn't the AG be investigating as to why CWCap fired Rose Associates, an experienced New York residential property management company, and hired its own fledgling, inexperienced, from out of town company to take over and receive the enormous fees? There is definitely a conflict of interest there. But worst of all, Compass Rock just doesn't have a clue as to how to manage this property competently and legally. This latest travesty just goes to show how ignorant and inexperienced they are. They flagrantly flout safety laws and put tenants' lives in danger. The fact that they have not repaired the basements and laundry rooms of those buildings affected by Sandy (while they've pissed away millions on unwanted and unnecessary "entertainment" and [rotten] landscaping just proves how incompetent and stupid they are. When it comes to doing repairs, I think they take their cues from NYCHA! I think we should get up a petition or letter-writing campaign to the Attorney General and demand that this faux management company be removed and a real one, who can do the job properly and honestly, be brought in.

Which building was this? I'm intrigued but too busy to click the link. But not too busy to ask in the comments.

Ill sign the petition if someone will write my name for me. I'm busy too!

Compass Rock had no experience with managing a property as large as STPCV. Not even close! Their previous experience capped at 400 units. To say they're under qualified is an understatement. They are driving this place into the ground.

I agree with poster @ 11.33 am, but we need the TA to start such a letter writing or petitioning initiative. CR would crucify any I divi dual tenant who started the ball rolling. This is where the TA could really be useful.

There is some damn preachy bitch on the TA facebook who is always telling people that they should take up arms, etc., and do this and do that or they are part of the problem, not party of the cure. Does she not realize that no end of tenants would like to rise up against our overlords, but we are likely to be persecuted by same overlords if we do. The Tenants Association should organize some kind of petition or letter-writing campaign to the AG and have people able to sign on en bloc without having to be persecuted by the Stasi. Demonstrations do not work. People don't have the time or stamina to picket, but we can all write. I will gladly put my name and my ten cents' worth into any organized effort that is instituted in the name of all tenants who are sick of the status quo. The TA should organize this. What do we pay our dues for? A pie-in-the-sky idea of a coop/condo conversion? That will never happen. Let's at least get this bunch of assholes out and agitate for a real management company to take over. We pay rent and we are entitled to a competent, legally-operating management. There's strength in numbers, but those numbers have to have a good, bona fide representation. The TA is the obvious party to be that representation. Little demos with silly placards and ugly logos do not work. A unified, well-organized initiative may very well work.

I couldn't find the preachy bitch comments because they were buried under obsessive, off-topic comments by the vomiter. I myself am sick of the people bitching on the TA page about their problems only to offer "someone should" solutions. YOU are the someone!

And enough with the "I'm too busy" mantra. The reality is you are not. You're just lazy and complacent. The so-called preachy bitch does more for this community on any given day than you, the oh do busy serial complainers who have no time to execute the change you seek yet have an endless supply off time to devote to Facebook ranting.

The conspiracy theory excuse is BS as well. If you were really afraid of CWCapital, you wouldn't be commenting publicly on Facebook in the first place.

Ritalin-Gags, is there no end to your ranting? ENOUGH with the "I'm too busy" crap. You're not too busy to spend every waking moment of your day commenting on the TA page, are you? Even THEY are getting sick of you and they have a pretty high threshold for annoying personality types.

I am the poster of the 11:33 August 5 post. I did not post it on the FB page as I'm not even signed up for Facebook. I believe someone "lifted" it off the STR blog and posted it on the TA FB . I have been told that my post (which was just my opinion) was copied in full on that Facebook page. I didn't think that was a very nice thing to do, but its not worth a fight over its content! STR let's us vent here, so I did! I don't have a Facebook account.

Comment was not originally posted on facebook. It was copied and pasted from STR blog and put on facebook by one A.J. Miller. It was never meant to go on facebook.

Gags is your apartment lined in aluminum foil by chance?

You really think CWCapital, the very people who gave out master keys to outside contractors, the people who let thousands of dollars worth of plants bake and die in the sun, the people who failed to monitor the additional security brought in after Sandy who were caught gambling and having sex in the NTT storage rooms... I could go on. But you are afraid these idiots led by Andrew MacArthur the panty king, are going to retaliate against you?!?! They can barely get to their desks on time. They are idiots. Boobs. Wastes of space. You give them too much credit. Please get back on your UFO and fly home Gags.

We're all lucky to have "Preachy Bitch" on our side.

So, all the shit aside, what is happening with these egregious violations being committed by Campus Crock? I think I know the answer to my question: NOTHING!!! When someone dies here as a result of their negligence and incompetence, then something will be done. Second thoughts: they will buy and bribe their way out of all responsibility because their lawyers will see to that.

Hi, Preachy Bitch here. Never said that you had to DO IT YOURSELF. Instead, I simply suggested if you've a well-thought out idea (not just a wild eyed rant) that perhaps you organize that idea and present THAT to the TA. They can be your anonymous presence so none are singled out for persecution.

On the other hand, if you're so self-righteous that you can only lash out and condemn other, well-meaning tenants as being either "preachy" or having the (apparently) poor taste in logos to represent you, then I'm afraid you'll be left alone to stew in a misery of your own making.

As I suggested on the FB page, craft & hone your idea. Present it to the TA. Publicize that idea on the FB page & other blogs, ask other tenants to sign on or assist you. DO something! Be amazed at what "unity" (oops! Sorry. I know you hate that word, used as it is in the “ugly logo") can accomplish. Convince yourself that you're a genius for having thought of it all.

Poor ole Gags never posted a thing on STR!
I'm not going to identify myself because I don't want the Nasties coming after me.

A typical series of anonymous complaints about issues and noone does a damn thing about it

"what is happening with these egregious violations being committed by Campus Crock? I think I know the answer to my question: NOTHING!!"

Here's a thought: Get a Twitter account - they are free! - and Tweet the Escape post to the @NYPD. EASY! When Escape tweeted the @NYPD about the standpipes not being fixed, they responded and involved 311 within minutes. Minutes! And they were fixed within days. The power of the Internet!

This isn't rocket science idiots. Get off your asses and DO SOMETHING OTHER THAN COMPLAIN!!! Be vocal! Email, send tweets, contact T&V, The NY Post, The NY Times. Do you need you asses wiped too? I'm starting to think you like the abuse as it validates your pre-existing feelings of inadequacy.

the kitchen in Oval Cafe is a fire trap!
One entry door inside a windowless closet cooking all that stuff?

Do we need a Sherpa to guide you through the comments?

1. 12:37 is most certainly Gags. That's the comment I was referring to, not 11:33. I thought it was pretty obvious but obvious isn't something easily absorbed with this crowd.

2. I'm not talking about cut and paste comments. I'm talking about the the constant complainers on Facebook who are abused by CW on a daily basis and do nothing but complain and say how busy they are. If you have time to be present on Facebook all day long, you have time to get involved with existing community organizations or start something of your own. But you are NOT too busy.

3. 9:31 what have YOU done to get this story out there? Did you tweet it or alert the news agencies? Did you call 311? My guess is no. But you had time to boot up your computer and write a waste of space comment.

Correction. I meant @fdny not @nypd. Get those Twitter feeds chirping bitches!

I haven't walked through the Oval in close to a year. Then it looked like an absurd botanical garden. Now it feels more like a park. That's an improvement. But a park is impersonal and in that way there is no improvement. The sense of community that once existed here is gone. Anyone coming in from the outside would feel Stuy Town is a very desirable place to live. The curse of the red brick is mitigated in Stuy Town by many low hanging branches that obscure naked views of the brick. Not so in Peter Cooper. The grounds can be luxurious but the buildings cannot.

What address was that?

I miss the beautiful trees that used to be in the Oval. Shame they chopped them down.

What address were the trees?

If someone else will look it up for me I'd be more than happy to tell you the address.
