Management has two priorities: 1) Making sure money is made, hence upgrading and filling up apartments is their goal. "Amenities" are important in selling the place, though few residents use them. 2) If someone needs medical attention, Public Safety will be there, if alerted.

Quality of life issues are not that important, however. Things like the carpet rule or outsider dogs. These "rules" tend to be ignored, on purpose it seems. So you will see a lot that isn't taken care of properly, and complaints will be met with a creative excuse and a smile.

"Peace and quiet" must be a cruel joke, though this property is sold that way. There can be no peace and quiet as ALL apartments must be upgraded, which includes the installation of an AC unit below the window. Aside from the continual construction about the neighborhood, there is a new and noisy subway extension being built along East 14 st and the shut down of the L line. "Choosing" to live in NYC, now the newest mantra, is a fabrication when the talk is of ST and PCV, which was traditionally quiet, with no construction noise.

Though money was always important, it is now more important than ever. Money rules many things, as you will find.

At this point, 30 years into living here and seeing many things, I can state that Management and their reps are BS-ing us. I can't say that loudly enough: We are being BS-ed. I don't see any genuine change, though the "selling" of this place is intense. Few of the "rules" will be enforced, as Management doesn't want to lose customers or potential customers. Where personal integrity is a hallmark of an excellent management style, this integrity is not seen in enforcing some of the rules.

Our Tenants Association is, basically, null and void. Oh, it is still around, but it lacks the will power to confront much of anything. The TA will ask for your dues, however. By now, the TA is a charade.

About those "club cars" we see going this way and that way, and outside of Stuy Town or Peter Cooper Village:

Once-beautiful Oval, I meant to say. Still want the fucking assholes who destroyed it to rot in hell. Bastards!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, STR. We love you!

Thanks STR, your help here is very much appreciated.

BTW, have never been late dropping rent off in box out front of p cv , but it's going to be tuesday (the 2nd) this month.

How late or bad is that does anyone know? :(((

You should be in no trouble dropping it in on the 2nd. There's a 10 day window of opportunity in the new month before your rent check is determined late. At least that's the way it used to be and should be, though CWCapital has been having some trouble in their accounting department and has been sending out late notices to some tenants before the deadline.

Check your lease, btw. It may state something about lateness of rent payment.

Another "nice" picture of what havoc CW has done to STPCV is a section of grass protected by a high fence near the guardhouse on East 22 and PCV Road where numerous plants and bushes have been left to die, rather than be planted. Most of the once green vegetation is now brown and clearly either dead or dying. Rather than plant these items or donating them, CW would rather let them die unplanted. And the whole area which is right by the 22nd Street entrance to PCV is an eyesore. Also I noticed last night that CW put up an electric menorah adjacent to the guardhouse. However, none of the lights were lit even though 2 nights of Hanukah have passed already CW is just pathetic and for this they are paid $7 million/year in management fees.

Re: The section near the guardhouse on 22nd St. That area is a holding area for C&C Landscapers. Some plants never seem to move, but some are indeed planted (saw activity the past couple of weeks) and are replaced with others to be planted.

The bad news about the adjacent fenced-off large lawn: Some people can't understand that the fence is there to keep everyone and everything out. I've already chased kids out on two occasions. The first time, one of the kids told me that only dogs weren't allowed on the grass. The second time the kids were younger, and the parents let them go in and run all over the news plants along the border. Paging someone with a functioning brain!

STR, you should NOT be banned from the TA Facebook. It is an absolute travesty if you are. Very often people who post on the TAFB are referred to your blog. If you have been banned, then the person in charge of the TAFB needs to be held accountable and made to realize that your blog does more for the long-suffering, beleaguered tenants than anybody else in this morass of slumlord/harassment situation than anybody ever does. I don't think that the head honchos of the TA are always awake and smelling the coffee, so to speak. As for Garodnick: please go away if you can't be whole-heartedly for us and have the balls to take on this horrible bunch of Wall Street criminals. OMG! I long for the day when the shit hits the fans and 60 Minutes or American Greed zones in on these bastards. We have suffered too much and for too long.

The rules on the TA Facebook mandate that members use their own names, which is why STR (as Lamont Cranston/The Shadow) was kicked out (after posting as Lamont Cranston for a while!). I'm okay with that, though on occasion I do miss the opportunity to post there and confront some views I disagree with. The important thing is that I do support the TA, as it's the only entity that is fighting for tenant rights in this complex.

STR, I would like to take this Thanksgiving weekend opportunity to THANK YOU for your yeoman efforts on behalf of the ST-PC community. You are truly a treasure and have earned the respect and admiration of many in our beleaguered "oasis" in Manhattan. My laudatory words and a fifteen cent token will get you on the subway...what, it is $2.50 now...good grief, Charley Brown, I must be dating You perform a GREAT service and have my gratitude and respect. Gobble, gobble!

STR, a lot of people don't use their real names on the TA Facebook. So long as the moderator knows you are for real, there shouldn't be a problem.

I was kicked off TA Facebook page and I used my real name. They didn't like that I called them out for doing nothing for 5 years. Since I am no longer a member after being a member from inception it makes no difference to me. As Luxie from Lux living once said " The TA couldn't run a bake sale no less Stuy Town" I couldn't agree more!
