Our landlord, BLACKSTONE, can't handle Stuy Town and Peter Cooper Village. There is a lack of enforcement of certain "rules," and no amount of notice to this alleviates the problems. We are continually being told half-truths and fabrications. And we have no viable Tenants organization, despite our TA asking for dues all the time. So far, the politicians have proven to be basically useless. A typical New York story.

What time did you see this, STR! I also love that place and the people who work there. Today was the first day I didn't go there !
I'm usually in there every day.
Around 10pm.
Went by around 9.15 AM, up and running, 2 Con Ed red emergency trucks parked outside, one has a cable running into the store.
If the refrigeration system went out, it would be good to know for how long.
Their refrigeration isn't very good at the best of times. Beware their chicken and meat! Be very afraid when buying chicken there. I got horribly sick one time after eating chicken I had purchased there.
I went in there this afternoon. I was told by one of the employees (who I think was very uncomfortable answering my questions) that the electric went off last night and was off for several hours. Con Ed has run some emergency line into the store to keep the place up and running. When I asked if they were sure the refrigerated stuff was safe, they lowered their eyes and said "sure it is." I know the guy in the milk dept. was putting in fresh milk and oj, but who knows where that had been stored during the outage? I love that store, BUT it is not the most well-managed or cleanest place I've ever shopped in.
STR, if you can find a place to post this, it would help.
we live under a bunch of people who have no carpets. we know this due to every heel being heard, every piece of furniture being dragged and awful , loud banging on the floors all the time. have called and complained, it was confirmed and documented and there supposedly was an inspection which passed, stuy saying there were carpets. There are not. constant , rude noise. Now what is my recourse, can someone advise? do we move out, break lease, can't live like this… do we contact a lawyer, the TA, ? thank you Str. in any case.
I'd still report instance of noise to Stuy Town security, document everything, and contact a lawyer if you can afford one, and the TA. Good luck.
And there's this:

FTR, 311 is pointless. They will not investigate. If they pass the complaint on to NYPD, they'll do zero.
KA-BOOM! KA-BOOM! It's Sunday AM and I'm watching some man-child on the ice slap shotting agaginst the walls of the rink. And it sound like bombs going off up here in my 12th floor apartment, and that means every apartment around the Oval is poisoned with this. But that man-child is having a great time. WOO-HOO! Good for him... he's a good boy!
Gotta have an ice rink.
Gotta make money.
Churn those unhappy residents
Churn
Dan Garodnick to Stuyvesant Town...."Drop dead".
