Real Estate Developers to de Blasio: "Just get out of the fucking way."

Can we get some new architects at least? These are as ugly as the souls of their real estate developers.

Another read-it-and-weep (or gnash-your-teeth) article about what's been happening to this city and who the real power players are.  And the definition of "affordable housing" is a joke, but even the people who qualify for "affordable housing" have to use the poor door.  (Thanks to a STR reader for alerting me to this important and well-researched article.)

Didn't take long for our new "progressive" mayor to show his true colors.

REBNY "demands".

Developers "demand".

Tenant Association "sends" bright green post cards "asking".

Its past time we stand the hell up.
Be equally strong parties at negotiating tables.
Make our "demands" exerting our consequences.

REBNY exerts consequences if they don't get their way threatening they will stop developing which the article called on its BS as its too lucrative to them to stop building in NYC.

We need to take stronger actions with stronger leadership (the TA is weak) and force the city like REBNY does.

Present politicians in office have rolled over and are getting their bellies rubbed and tickled by REBNY, giggling and winking. They need a figuratively punch in the gut knocking them out of office.

And no more being told the scraps we are thrown are "wins".

We need better people at the negotiating tables with the Pols and with DHCR.

When I buy a seat on a plane, I buy an economy ticket. I board after first and business class. I sit in the crowded , people- packed area. I use a bathroom that is used by many, many people. I eat food that is not so great. Why? Because I bought a cheaper ticket. Same goes for real estate. I have a nice apartment , in a nice area. View is not great and amenities are lacking. Why? Because I paid less for the apartment. Simple!!!

Developers are playing hard ball.

We are cutting down our own green trees to make cute green post cards.

We are pathetic and need to play hard ball if we ever want to win our rights.

Your choice of language, in my opinion, diminishes your credibility. Don't you have a better vocabulary than this? You are constantly remarking on the lack of civility in the community so why contribute by your choice of trashy language..in your posts and in responses?
You have to be better than this.

Why aren't the Tenants Association doing anything. Their poster says in order to join be prepared for 20 - 50 hours a month of work. There is no way they get together that much and have produced so little, next to nothing. What a joke.

What we need is outraged language and fury. Not precious word choices to appear civil. So everyone keep shouting and being outraged and curse all you want at all this destruction.

If ever the time was appropriate to curse, it is now.

DAMNIT!

IF YOU READ THE STORY THAT THIS THREAD IS RESPONDING TO -THEN YOU WOULD GET THE COMPARISON TO THE ECONOMY TICKET ON A PLANE. THE ARTICLE WAS ABOUT THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING HAVING A " POOR DOOR". I WAS RESPONDING TO THAT POST !
