Our landlord, BLACKSTONE, can't handle Stuy Town and Peter Cooper Village. There is a lack of enforcement of certain "rules," and no amount of notice to this alleviates the problems. We are continually being told half-truths and fabrications. And we have no viable Tenants organization, despite our TA asking for dues all the time. So far, the politicians have proven to be basically useless. A typical New York story.

Beauty and peace can still by found in Stuyvesant Town at certain times of the day

Looks too pretty. Hope there's not a hidden MCI in those flowers?
Lovely indeed...alas soon to be eradicated by the dog shit and piss...but all is not lost...we have the skating rink opening to look forward to... P.S. I tried to use the laundry machine this morning...out oozed some gelatinous, putrid liquid...remember the movie The Green Slime? I wonder if that refers to the crap coming out of the washer or our landlords? Have a peaceful weekend all!
Funny you mention dog shit, because about a minute after taking that photo (in the Oval), I came across a splat of dog shit on my way back to the apartment.
Yes, let's continue to talk and complain about the washing machines while Rome burns. This is why we get no where with real rent, security and noise issues.
4:27 that is the TA's fault for diverting attention to the washing machines and away from the important and real issues which by the way the TA will soon claim a "big victory for tenants" when new machines are installed, proper ones that should have been there all along. If I had a nickel for every time the phony TA claimed "big victory for tenants" when they get tenants a penny here and a penny there I could buy the place myself.
This latest MCI is PURE B.S.. They are NOT getting away with this one. I am going to pay for outside building "patchwork" as a permenant increase? I DON'T THINK SOO! There's no way! You hear that Danny boy? NO WAY!!!!!!!!!
this place is such a suck. Last night again, the 12:30 Am to 1:30 am wake up calls from the runners upstairs and downstairs. I feel so sorry for the quiet new neighbors that moved in next door. What a shock they'll get when they realize what they signed in to.
As for me, I'm negotiating to be out of here by Dec. if only for awhile. Then a permanent good-bye. Keep your MCI's - bloodsuckers!
11: 46. Where are they running? kids or adults? We are leaving too. Not sure where though. Would love ideas - neighborhoods or buidlings that people recommend. Should have read the Yelp b4 we moved in.
3:20 a somewhat weak point. What the tenants need is transparent ongoing two way dialogue on MCI charges. Not crafted statements in one way communications from a TA that thinks its the great wizard of oz talking at us from behind a curtain surrounded in smoke and mirrors.
The TA does not have enough members to be a representative voice, does not represent those who are not members and those who are not members are not bound to the TA outrageously foolish negotiations including the last round of MCI piss poor negotiations.
Poorly run by management Poorly represented by Tenant Association Everyone is leaving and no one will be buying in Way to waste what was once a jewel crown prized asset
>>Would love ideas - neighborhoods or buidlings that people recommend. <<
I would also love to hear about alternatives. We would like to live in Manhattan, in a two-bedroom apartment at least as big as the Stuy Town two-bedrooms, for less than $4,000, and preferably for less than $3,200.
DUH? Not interested in the generic info posted on that website. Wanted an official to give the most current update. I think most people can figure that out.
Suggest you contact a broker as there are many that fit your criteria. This blog is not a broker. Unless of course you are making a passive aggressive statement about the size of STPCV apartments and what a bargain you think they are.

Agree, but all the coordinated Garodnick-TA troll comments insulting STR and Guterman are transparent and obvious, particularly thinly disguised attack comments containing a TA officer/membership disclaimer.
I propose we make a list or a blog of all those who defected and found better, cheaper apartments. What a sham this management is and everyone in NYC seeking a rental should know. YOU WILL BE CHARGED MUCH MORE THAN THE RENT YOU 'think' you SIGNED AT LEASE SIGNING. The new leases are fraudulent and illegal and DHcr and management knows this. No one gives a damn.

Flowers and candy vending machine and NO WORKING WASHING MACHINES!
Nice work management. You guys sure have your eye on the ball.

The washing machine debacle is just one of the many symptoms of an incompetent management team.
Their inabilities to get things right is astonishing.

TA keeps posting about washing machines and that it's a huge problem. Like we're all this stupid.
I can't believe we are going to get another MCI, listed on the TA's website.
Enjoy the flowers while they are still here. The city and the city council are illegally giving away open space to nyu dorms and buildings.

10 08 of course we're getting another mci - and another - and another - and another. You people won't listen or learn.
Any news on fighting this new MCI?
ANYBODY? HELLO TA?

Sounds like a great advertisement for a great place to live. Don't you think?
