Dan Must Be Pleased: The Progressive Vision of Manhattan Continues!

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/02/realestate/new-condos-coming-to-midtown-east.html

From the above article:

"Spurred by the success of trophy skyscrapers like 432 Park Avenue, developers are planning luxury residential towers that could reshape the area between Park Avenue and Second Avenue from 57th Street to 60th Street."

Seriously, what are we waiting for? ST/PCV should have trophy skyscrapers, too. One on each current building site in this community.

Dan, please facilitate this here as you've done for the above neighborhood.

Why not check out the monstrosity going up on 22nd St. west of Park Ave South? It's going to be taller than than Rupert Murdoch's future home on 23rd St.

Ultimately the goal is to get rid of all the remaining rent-stabilized tenants. The market-raters can be eliminated simply by not renewing their leases. This may take a decade or two but the owners will then be able to raze the buildings and put up Battery Park East. The 80-acres of Stuy-Town Peter Cooper is worth far more as vacant land than with these projects-like antiquated buildings. That development project would be worth billions. Councilman Danny Boy Garodnick and all the local pols are in on the fix. The feckless and impotent TA is still whistling the coop-condo scheme. Steinberg and her crew clearly are delusional.More MCI's, more tenant harassment, continued deterioration of quality of life...inexorable. None the less, the only way they are getting me to leave is feet first...or if they buy me out with a wad of cash. FU Compass Cock, the TA and all our worthless pols. To everyone else.. peace and love...lol

Deliveryman Tries to Rape Woman After Asking to Use Her Bathroom: NYPD

STUYVESANT TOWN — A deli worker tried to rape a woman after delivering food to her Stuyvesant Town apartment, NYPD said.

Luis Corpeno, 27, who works for Fraiche Maxx on Park Avenue South, brought an order to the victim’s East 20th Street apartment just after midnight on Nov. 1 and then asked if he could use her bathroom, police said.

When he returned from the bathroom, Corpeno grabbed the 26-year-old woman's face and told her to kiss him. When she refused, he threw her on the couch, tried to take off her shirt and groped her, according to a criminal complaint from the Manhattan District Attorney's office.

The woman fought off Corpeno, and he fled down the building's stairs, police said. Police caught up to him about an hour later at the Fraiche Maxx where he worked at 213 Park Ave. South and arrested him, according to the police report.

Corpeno was charged with attempted rape and sexual abuse. His bail was set at $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond, and he was still being held at Rikers Island as of Tuesday, according to prosecutors and the Department of Correction's website. He is due back in court on Nov. 6.

Fraiche Maxx manager Joel Kim said Corpeno had not yet been fired, and that management was waiting to hear his side of the story before taking further action.

“We don't know what really happened," Kim said. "We have to talk to him first."

Corpeno's attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Don't we have enough with the fucking landlord raping us over and over and over in every which way possible without some zitty loser delivery boy coming in and trying to do the same thing!

BTW, didn't this attempted rape occur in Gramercy? That's were all of PCVST's crimes occur.
